All Paisley Marsh wants this Christmas is to survive it. With her family plans cancelled and her first holiday alone looming, she’s resigned herself to long shifts at the diner and nights curled up with festive movies. But when a rugged stranger with a brooding smile and a stare intense enough to start an inferno walks through the door, her quiet Christmas suddenly looks a lot more dangerous.
Alex Murphy didn’t come to Lowstock Falls to celebrate. He’s here to work, keep his head down, and avoid messy entanglements. But the sad-eyed waitress tempts him to cross every line he’s drawn. What starts as teasing over pie turns into hours tangled in sheets, filthy promises, and a craving neither of them can shake.
It’s supposed to be uncomplicated — a brief escape from reality and loneliness. A holiday fling that ends when Christmas does.
But some sparks are impossible to ignore… and this Christmas, they’re about to set Lowstock Falls on fire.
A Very Merry Lowstock Falls Christmas is a sinful, small-town holiday novella bursting with explicit spice, delicious tension, and a fling that was never meant to last
I’d been impatiently counting down to December just so I could finally dive into this one after adoring Lu Langley’s debut, Running to Home, and wow, was the wait worth it. Returning to Lowstock Falls felt like slipping back into a cosy jumper you secretly wish you could live in. Familiar faces pop up like festive cameos, giving the whole story that warm, small-town glow Langley writes so well.
This time we follow Paisley, a waitress preparing for the bleakest Christmas imaginable after her parents come down with the flu, stranding her in Lowstock. Enter Alex, the nomadic Project Manager who lives out of suitcases and job sites, newly arrived and equally destined for a lonely holiday. That is, until one well-timed invitation for coffee and pie leads to sparks bright enough to power the town’s Christmas lights.
From there, Langley gifts us a gloriously bold proposition from Alex… an indecent one, no less, and Paisley’s agreement sets the stage for two days of mind-blowing, life-altering, candy-cane-redefining chemistry. Their Christmas together is equal parts tender and toe-curling. When Alex leaves without her number, no less, and needs to temporarily leave town, the ache is real. Watching them both pine, obsess and ultimately reunite at the New Year’s Eve party was the perfect payoff.
This novella hooked me from page one. It’s spicy, funny, and so delightfully festive that I will never look at candy canes or a Hallmark movie marathon the same way again.
My only criticism? It’s a novella. I could have happily devoured another few hundred pages of Paisley, Alex and this magical little town. I’m already impatiently waiting for my next trip to Lowstock Falls… please don’t keep us waiting long, Langley!🎄✨
I absolutely devoured A Very Merry Lowstock Falls Christmas!
Lu Langley has outdone herself. This holiday novella delivers on every front. You have all the small town charm you could want, and all the spice you crave!
Alex is a project manager in town over the holidays for a project. He arrives on Christmas eve and stops at a local spot for a sweet treat. Not only does he snag some pie, but he meets Paisley. The insanely adorable waitress.
Paisley has the holiday blues after her family cancels Christmas plans last minute due to an unfortunatly timed bout of the flu. Planning to hunker down with a Hallmark movie and wallow in her lonely Christmas status Paisley is on her way out of work when a handsome stranger comes in and invites her to eat with him.
In an effor to not be alone for the holiday they decide to have a no strings attached weekend of fun, and they make the most of that time!
Don’t let the small page number fool you. Lu packs so much into those pages. If you want a spicy Hallmark love story that’ll give you all the feels, then do yourself a favor and grab a coy of this book and settle in with a cup of hot chocolate and a cande cane to enoy along with your book!
I’m convinced someone gently but firmly put a hand around *MY* throat, because I forgot how to breathe more than once. And yes, it’s no secret that I’m hopelessly devoted to Lu Langley—this spicy Christmas novella just casually reinforces that fact.
Watching a heavy, quietly sad Christmas story unfold into something this tender, charged, and deeply intimate felt almost unreal. How can so few pages carry this much longing, care, understanding—and heat? Every scene lands. Every emotion sticks.
Alex and Paisley absolutely ruined me. The pull between them isn’t loud or flashy—it’s magnetic, inevitable, the kind that settles in your chest and makes your knees go weak without asking permission.
And Lowstock? At this point, I’m ready to pack my bags. That town radiates messy joy, warmth, and just enough chaos to feel alive.
I won’t say more. Just trust me and treat yourself (or someone else) to this story.
Perfect spicy novella to get you all christmassy! Alex and Paisley need a full book! And it’s got me excited to read others by Lu!
Looking for a spicy christmassy romance? You definitely need to add this novella to your TBR! Alex, tall, devilishly handsome, mature with a smart mouth travels to Lowstock Falls on business Paisley, honey blonde hair, with undeniable natural beauty is finishing up her shift in the diner. Both faced with a very unexpected meet-cute they have to decide whether embarking on a lust fuelled holiday fling is what they really wanted for Christmas
Thoroughly enjoyed this short story, it was just what I needed! You’ll never look at a candy cane in the same way again!
I’ve been in a holiday novella kick and this was such a fun, quick read.
The dynamic between Alex and Paisley is sizzling from start to finish. There’s just enough sweet and tender moments mixed in with the sexier scenes to round out the plot.
I’m not usually a huge fan of an age gap, but it worked well for this story. I loved how Alex’s maturity and calmness lends to Paisley finding her own confidence. Such a cute duo.
If you’re looking for a spicy Hallmark vibe, this is a great choice.
This was a good read this morning. You get some character building and a sense of their surroundings and it is sweet and cute and BAM yesss Old man! I have yet to call a romance novella cute and burning hot but here we are smiling and making puddles😏 If you like age gap, small town and Christmas romance with heavy spice you should give it a read!
Had a blast reading this festive novella! A deliciously sweet and spicy tale that will simultaneously give you all the cosy Christmas feels, and also make you blush next time you see a candy cane! IYKYK I thoroughly enjoyed my time in Lowstock Falls with the sweet Paisley and smouldering Alex. What better setting for a holiday romance than a small Canadian town? If you are looking to get into the holiday spirit I highly recommend checking it out.
Of course I’m on a holiday book kick right now, and of course Lu Langley did not disappoint.
I love a good age-gap romance, and this one had the perfect balance of sweet, tender moments mixed with just the right amount of spicy spice spice. And listen… that doorframe scene? Candy canes. Absolute yum. Familiar faces from Lowstock Falls make adorable little cameos, adding that warm small-town charm alongside all the Alex & Paisley angst and banter... so, so good.
If you’re looking for a perfectly spiced Hallmark holiday novella, this is it. Just be warned… it will absolutely leave you yearning for more.
This is a novella that is sweet but becomes so hot it’s possible you’ll burn up! All the feels, all the heart and all the spicy goodness! Fantastic book! Can’t wait for the next one by Lu Langley. Great novella!
This little novella had evvvvveryrhing I wanted in a Christmas read!! Instant attraction, hot spice and some Christmas shenanigans with a side of to be continued!
Alex was hoooot hot so so hot. Very alpha and in control whilst also being very aware of Paisleys safety and wellbeing. He never rushed her and let her take time but once she said yes, it was on.
Paisley was sweet and fun. I loved her little Christmas traditions and how she loved the holiday, making Alex fall in love with it as well.
My only complaint is that I want more. I need to see them in another book and make sure they are okay because I adored them!
A fun and flirty start to my Christmas reads. It was great being back in Lowstock Falls for this holiday Novella. Fast paced and full of spice, it’s one to add to your Christmas list. Hopefully I’ll see more of this couple in future Lowstock Falls books.
This novella kept me glued to it until I read the last page. The characters are relatable and the spice is absolutely yummy, leaving me longing for a candy cane. Now, I have to read more of Lu Langley’s books, I’m hooked.
🎄✨ I’m not usually a Christmas story kind of girl… but whoa. Lu Langley had me hooked from the very first chapter! This festive novella was the perfect little escape — full of spice, banter, and all the cozy Christmas feels. 🎅🔥 Paisley & Alex? Perfection. The chemistry, the age gap, the heat… yes please 👏
received a Christmas gift in the form of Lu Langley’s novella, A Very Merry Lowstock Falls Christmas. Got a candy cane too that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon. 😂 Lu managed to pack so much into such a short novella? She writes a sexy story that gives you all the feels. There’s vulnerability in the characters that was unexpected for a novella. She created some kind of Christmas magic with her writing because I fell in love with her characters. I got to be in their world long enough to blush, wish I was Alex’s plaything and also love these vulnerable characters. There’s intensity in the spice, an all consuming sort of lust but there’s also a happy ending. It just goes to show you, sometimes you meet a person and you just know. You know they’re the one. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and can’t wait for the next one. See you in Lowstock Falls!
If you like spicy with a dominant MMC, this book is for you. Chemistry is off the charts for these strangers who quickly find they can't keep their hands off each other, as they find they won't be having a lonely Christmas after all. It's a short, quick paced, enjoyable read!
