Book 15 in the Hart's Ridge Series, Ticket to Ride had a hold of me from page 1. When Rae is given the choice of rehab or jail, but disappears on the way, can Taylor find her & help her in time? Also, follow along as Tula & Waylon, try to find a way to be free. And when someone very close to Taylor & Sam disappears, can they find her in time? Will it be to late? Will Taylor & Sam be able to find out who is responsible? Will Taylor make a big change in her life? All of these questions will be answered in Book 15 & it will have you wanting more!

You know, Kay Bratt's done it again with an amazing FIFTEENTH book in the Hart's Ridge Series!
Taylor Grey is back with her tingling senses, with support from her husband Sam, when things get far too close to home for comfort.
Seeing crime and corruption within the folk who you expect to protect you is not what anyone wishes, but after the end of the last book, you know things are going to be deep and Ticket To Ride gives you that and more.
A missing person, a fugitive, a runaway; three different people but all ultimately connected through the wrongdoings of one person, and it takes Taylor and a little army behind her to solve the cases.
And there is emotion, lots of emotion. We don't really hear much about Taylor's family in this book, since there is so much going on, but this was a true page turner, and the end was brilliant - a lead up to more fab stories to come!

Suspense Filled Tale Filled With Pervasive Social Commentary Ends Explosively. This is one of those tales that is going to keep you on the edge of your seat with sheer suspense for almost the entirely of the tale... before ending in one of the more explosive endings I've ever seen in any book, particularly in any of Bratt's books. But with this entire series, you really need to start at the beginning (Hart's Ridge) and work your way to this one, as Bratt has truly mastered over the last few books in particular telling a singular complete tale per book yet having that singular tale both spring from the prior tale and explicitly set up the next.

There are a few different social commentaries in the book, including one in the final pages, but the dominant issue throughout the book is the dangers of online gaming - which have shifted over the past couple of years in particular in ways many likely aren't aware of. While a child is still statistically more likely to be assaulted by a family member or others in close proximity to the child in the real world than by someone who found them inside a game, kidnapping via similar methods as Bratt shows in this very tale are actually heavily on the rise... yet still statistically near zero. (No more than 500 known cases of any non-family kidnapping by any method in 2024 according to FBI statistics across literally millions of gamers online at any given moment.) Indeed, while many forms of childhood death and trauma are actually plateauing or even declining, the threat posed by scenarios similar to what Bratt builds into this text are exactly what the FBI says is actually on the rise in recent years.

Apart from the specific discussion of how that particular element works within the story (extremely well, in case I haven't made that crystal clear yet) and within the real world (more cautionary, yet absolutely illuminative and using information which will possibly/ likely be new to at least some readers), Bratt in this tale truly does one of the best jobs she has ever done in regards to keeping the reader on the edge of their seat reading with bated breath to see what exactly is going to happen next and whether everyone will come out as unharmed as possible.

And then that ending. Dayum. Without going into spoiler territory, let's just say that for me personally, given my own history and favorite bits of pop culture... yeah, that ending was *phenomenal* in so very many ways and levels, and I truly can't wait for July to get here so we can see where this series is going next!

Very much recommended.

If you love small towns and beautiful mountain settings, you are in for a treat! Ticket to Ride is book fifteen in the Hart’s Ridge mystery series, set in the fictional town by the same name nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Like so often, this latest book has two separate storylines running simultaneously. Also, like the fourteen preceding books, Ticket to Ride is loosely based on a real-life crime! It is a fast paced read and keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!!

Although each book in the Hart’s Ridge series can be read as a standalone, for me I loved reading them in order following along as Kay Bratt builds on her characters and their world. The Hart’s Ridge series follows Taylor Gray, her husband Sam, stepdaughter Alice, and their baby daughter Lennon. Taylor was the only female Sheriff’s Deputy in Hart’s Ridge, but after the birth of her daughter, she decided to hang up her hat and she and Sam started a business as Private Investigators. You will also get to know her family consisting of her father, 3 sisters, and her mother Cate and her husband Ellis. And, if you know Kay Bratt there are always dogs, to make you smile.

Ticket to Ride starts out with the mysterious disappearance of a young woman being transported from the Hart’s Ridge courthouse to a court ordered rehab facility nearby. Two women get into the transport van, but only one is booked in at the rehab facility. What happened to the second woman? Taylor is asked to consult (off the books) on this mysterious disappearance by her previous partner Shane Weaver, the lead detective on the case.

Simultaneously we pick up with Tula and Waylon Skaggs where book fourteen, Tell Me Why left off with the tragic death of Taylor’s friend Quig. Tula Rose and her brother Waylon are the only “decent” members of the dysfunctional Skaggs family. Sadly, their older brothers are dangerous, and all too eager to pull Waylon into their criminal activity, now Tula and Waylon are on the run from the law and from their family.

The story takes on a suspenseful turn when both cases start to have overlaps in potential suspects and locations. The trail only gets deeper and darker when a thinly disguised threat from someone Taylor trusted with her own life, leads to the disappearance of someone the Gray family holds near and dear.

And in what has now become my tag line…Since I am not one to ruin the story by retelling it, I will just leave it there. Hold on to your seat! The race is on, and the clock is running out. You won’t be able to put this one down!

The newest book in the Hart’s Ridge series is one that is relevant to the times we live in, gut-wrenching at times, and very realistic. There are two stories within the one plot line that end up dovetailing together perfectly due to the masterful hand of the talented author. Taylor and Sam are investigating the disappearance of a young woman from a police transport van when Sam’s daughter Alice disappears. Taylor and Sam don’t get much cooperation from the police department, so they rally the family and everyone contributes to trying to find Alice. The other story is about Tula and Waylon, members of a crime family who don’t do crime but who got caught up in the scheme and ran away from Hart’s Ridge so Waylon can escape a prison term. They end up at a marina and there they meet one of the nicest and most trustworthy man in this book. Daniel owns the marina and sees Waylon’s potential so he hires him. When Waylon needs a friend, he knows Daniel is someone who can help him without being judgmental. The plot is fast-paced and compelling with warnings about the dangers of kids playing video games and about associating with the wrong people. The characters are believable, with the unsavory characters coming across to me as pitiful and having a hard life through poor circumstances that landed them there. I enjoyed Taylor and Sam’s interactions as they worked to find Alice and bring her home again, even though the odds of being able to succeed seemed insurmountable. My favorite character in this book was Daniel because of his intuitive sense of knowing what was needed and his compassion for Waylon and what he had to face in Hart’s Ridge. The entire book is a quick read and a welcome addition to the series that follows Taylor’s family and her desire to provide justice for the citizens in her small town. This is a must-read for fans of the series, although it can be read as a standalone. I think anyone who starts with this book will definitely want to find the other books and read the entire series.
I voluntarily received a complimentary copy of this book from the author. I also purchased my own copy to have. I was not required to write a positive review, and all opinions expressed are my own.

Ticket To Ride is the fifteenth book in the Hart’s Ridge series by Kay Bratt. When a young woman disappears on her way to rehab, private investigator Taylor Gray is asked to follow her steps. When a young girl goes missing that hits closer to home, Taylor is thrown into the online world and the predators lurking in the shadows. As she searches, rumors and whispers of other girls gone missing under similar circumstances and every lead reveals a darker path and secrets involving powerful people who would do anything to keep them buried. With time running out, Taylor is determined to end the ring of predators who are luring vulnerable girls and the shadowy figures who are determined to silence those who threaten their system. Little does Taylor know that one link in the chain will throw the small town of Hart’s Ridge into turmoil.
Ticket to Ride opens with a seemingly normal court case as a young woman must choose between jail or rehab and the story doesn’t stop. Page after page, readers are on a race against time as Taylor follows a case that hits too close to home. With gritty reality, Ticket to Ride brings to light the darkness and danger of an everyday activity: online games and communities. While online activities can be innocent, there are predators lurking, ready to lure innocent kids into a darker world. With each piece of evidence, Taylor gets closer to the true boss of this web of criminals and it will leave readers’ jaws on the floor when Taylor discovers who is behind it all. As the sixteenth book has been noticed, I am looking forward to Taylor’s future in Hart’s Ridge. I highly, highly recommend Ticket to Ride.

The Hart’s Ridge series just keeps getting better and better. Book 15 has three major plot lines that look different but is there a connection? It’s up to Taylor and her husband Sam to follow the clues and hopefully find the missing people.

-Waylon is on the run from a potential murder charge. His sister, Tula, has vowed to protect him and she is anxious to get him somewhere safe. Is Waylon guilty or was he framed by his brother for the murder of Quig? The sheriff’s department is trying their best to find Waylon.

-Rae was on her way to rehab after a drug charge. Even though 2 girls got on the transport at the jail, only one was dropped off at the rehab center. Did she escape or did someone divert her to an even more dangerous location?

-Sam’s 14 year old daughter Alice disappears. She had always been a real family person and a quiet student. A cousin told Sam and Taylor that she had started playing a video game and he thought that playing the game opened her up to conversations with someone who wanted to harm her. It’s a race against the clock to find Alice before she’s harmed.

Ticket to Ride is a real page turner that deals with money laundering, human tracking and secrets – lots of secrets. But as with all of the other books in this series, it’s about a family and their love for each other and Taylor’s love of Hart Ridge. I hope this series continues for many more books!

I was lucky enough to be given an advanced reader copy of Kay Bratt’s latest novel, Ticket to Ride, to be released soon. Hart’s Ridge book 15: Ticket to Ride continues the story of Taylor Gray and her family. If you haven’t read any Hart’s Ridge books, I recommend that you start with book 1: Hart’s Ridge and work through them in sequence. Whilst you can read each book as a stand-alone, reading the books in order fills out the background of the characters piece by piece. You know who they are, where they have been and where they are now.

In this book, we see Taylor and her husband Sam start to investigate a case of a woman missing from a prison transport to a rehab centre. As this starts, Sam’s daughter. Alice, disappears from home, seemingly run away, she is 14-years old. Taylor, as always follows the leads, gathers the evidence and Sam try’s to work out how his daughter was playing an online game and then vanished. Are they connected?

In true Kay Bratt style though, this web of cases is not enough and the next stage of an on-going story line from previous books continues to play out.

As always, this was a page-turner, the characters we love so much evolving on the page. I never write spoilers, il you want to know how these different threads play out. You will have to read the books. You won’t be disappointed.

I couldn't put this book down and read it in one go, it captivated me by the end of the first chapter.

Taylor Gray, used to be a deputy in the Sheriff's department, she's now a private investigator and has her hands full, as usual.

Following on from the last book, Tula Rose and Waylon Skaggs are on the run following the death of Quig, one of the women Taylor helped out. However thing's cant go this way forever, someone needs to be held accountable.

A girl is missing after deciding to attend rehab; somewhere, between the transport from the courthouse and arriving at the rehab centre she goes missing!

Then, Sam's daughter runs away. Sam is Taylor's husband and Alice lives with the and Taylor. For some reason, Taylor is convinced this and the missing girl from rehab, are linked, but why, and who is at the top of the tree ordering this. to happen?

These books are so closely interlinked; to get the best out of the series, the books are best read in the order in which they were published.

It's going to be so hard to wait until the next book is released. There is another series by the same author, By The Sea which I need to read.

If you like good mystery and intrigue books, then you won't be disappointed in the Harts Ridge series.

Ticket To Ride is the 15th book in Kay Bratt’s Hart’s Ridge series. These books are mystery/thriller type stories that center around a small town with a lot of family drama involved. The books main character is Taylor Gray, a former deputy with the local police force who has branched out along with her husband Sam and started their own private investigation firm. In this installment the author centers the story around human trafficking along with other illegal issues. It shows how sometimes the people you believe to be upstanding citizens and are there to do what’s right and uphold the law can actually be more corrupt than most criminals. It was a real eye-opener to the local residents. Bratt writes these stories based off from actual real life crimes and events that make reading these books so realistic and I find them to be very addictive. I know I have really enjoyed each and every book and always look forward to reading what comes next. It’s a series I would recommend to anyone who enjoys reading about police procedurals that are also family oriented and centered around small town living. Believe me, there is never a dull moment to be had in Hart’s Ridge!

5 STARS! Or, can I give a book more than that?

I just finished Ticket to Ride, and what a ride it was! From the very first sentence, I was hooked. And let me tell you - if I didn't have to sleep at all I would have finished it in one sitting.

This story follows Taylor and Sam investigating alongside each other, and sometimes it goes well - and sometimes it doesn't. And what's up with Shane and those deputies? There are characters on the run, new characters to like, and new ones to dislike - plus most of our favorites are back, even if it's just for a short bit.

I don't want to give anything away, but this book is a doozy. The plot lines are cleverly interwoven, and this entire book is a well-told tale that is terrifying and plausible enough to happen anywhere at any time. The events in this book could and do absolutely happen and Kay Bratt gets you thinking and wanting to immediately get up and find out all the ways you can protect your own....

And I will not even get started on that cliffhanger. She ALWAYS gets us with the cliffhangers, doesn't she? If you aren't already part of the huge fan base that loves all things Hart's Ridge... what are you waiting for?

WOW! Just when I thought her books couldn't get any better than cam Ticket to Ride and they just keep getting better and better. I just finished the ARC to Ticket To Ride and I could not put it down! In this story there are 4 missing people, Rae Bowen, Tula Rose and Waylon Skaggs, Alice Stone. Alice Stone is Taylor's step-daughter and Sam Stone's daughter. Tula Rose is helping her brother, Waylon Skaggs, run away for charges and Rae Bowen disappeared on her way to a rehab clinic. Are these all connected somehow? There are so many twists and turns, deceit, suspenseful that will have you on the edge of your seat. Hart's Ridge families won't know who to trust when they find out what's going on in their town. This is such a gripping, emotional read you just can't put down! I for one can't wait for the next book in the series and I can see that Kay can keep this series going for a while. Thank you for the ARC!

4.5/5

Book 15 of Kay Bratt’s Hart’s Ridge series. Hart’s Ridge is a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains, which has its share of crime. This book finds Taylor, once sheriff’s deputy, now a PI, in the middle of two different investigations when she receives a call that will shake her world.

This book picks up where the previous one left off and at this point cannot be read as a stand-alone. I really can’t divulge too much or it’ll spoil the book. But there is coercion, obstruction of justice and a shocking development midway thru that raised my blood pressure. So suspenseful that I read it in one sitting. Having read this series from Book 1, I’ve come to look at the characters as family, sharing their struggles and cheering their accomplishments. If you love a series, this is a good one…so many books, easy to read and finish in a day, perfect for a vacation or a quiet weekend of reading.

I received an ARC of this book. This is my honest opinion.

Taylor and her husband, Sam, have their hands full investigating several cases. Rae Bowen, a young woman being transported to court-ordered rehab, never arrives. Those who saw her last aren’t talking. Tula Rose and her brother, Waylon Skaggs, have also disappeared. Tula is determined to keep Waylon safe so that he doesn’t end up like their brothers. As if that’s not enough, Sam’s daughter, Alice, disappears. She’s not the type to run away. The tension puts Taylor and Sam at odds with each other, but both are determined to bring Alice home safely and help solve the other crimes, also.

Power, greed, deceit, danger, betrayal, coverups, and corruption lead to an ending no one saw coming. This is such an awesome series!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

You would think that fifteen books into a series, the characters and storylines would start to get stale. Bratt has brilliantly avoided that. The storyline of Ticket to Ride was totally unique to all the others. It was fresh and exciting. There is the continuation of what happened to Quinn and who killed her, but It has sent a sister and brother on the run in this book. A totally new mystery hits really close to Taylor and Sam. Their ever faithfuldog, Diesel, lends his olfactory senses to the cause to help protect his humans.

I've come to expect smart writing, exciting action and heart-warming family drama from Bratt, and she delivered once more. And there's going to be another in the series. Do yourself a favor and start with the first book in the series--and don't stop there!

Thanks to the author for the digital copy. All thoughts are my own.

What a Ride! Ticket to Ride is book 15 in the Hart’s Ridge Series and I was hooked from the very first page.
Rae Brown is being transported to rehab. She vanishes and Taylor is asked to help locate the missing girl.
As Taylor starts looking into Rae’s disappearance she gets a message from Sam that their daughter Alice is missing.
A look into the dangerous world of what can happen to teens in online gaming. Very frightening and a wake up call to those that care about their tweens and teens.
That starts Taylor looking for two missing girls. Sam starts digging in Alice's disappearance.
A story of coverup, betrayal, power, greed and a corruption that no one realized was happening right under their noses. Individuals who thought they were untouchable.

I received an ARC prior to publication and decided to voluntarily review it.

This is book 15 of the Hart’s Ridge series but can be read as a stand alone book. Kay has done it again! I had to know the answers to the questions and loved the way this book ended. I can’t wait for book 16. I was given a copy of this book as part of a ARC group but my review are my own opinions.

Hart's Ridge Book #15
Ticket to Ride
Best selling author: Kay Bratt

"After finishing Ticket to Ride, I had to take a moment just to breathe it all in. Kay Bratt has a gift for capturing the complexities of the human spirit. I especially loved how the book explored the secrets powerful people have, making it feel incredibly relatable to today's world as I see it. It’s a poignant reminder that it’s never too late for a new chapter."

The story is heartfelt, evocative, and impossible to put down.

Whew! This story had me on the edge of my seat most of the time. How intense! As Taylor and Sam race against time to find their missing family member, others are on the run from the authorities, hoping to not be charged with a crime they didn't commit.

As the story moves forward, will the good guys win and the bad guys get what's coming to them? I felt like the whole story was a race against time. I love that about Kay's stories. There is plenty of drama to make me want to keep reading, and sometimes I can't read fast enough. This series is so, so good! I am fully invested in the lives of Taylor and her family members.

The Hart's Ridge series is an amazing set of stories, with memorable characters and interesting plots. I highly recommend Ticket to Ride, as well as this whole series—it just keeps getting better and better.

Running

Kay has done it again. Another spell binder. Murder, runaway and coming home too.. Quiq's murder still.fresh on Taylor's mind, trying to figure out who and why. A young woman was supposed
to be getting help and another chance at life but she disappears. How can a law enforcement official lose a person. No trace. But Taylor and Diesel start looking and are on a fresh trail when she gets a terrifying text from.Sam. now Alice is missing.
She needs to look for the missing young woman but Sam and Alice need her to.search for Alice. Too.many.missing young girls. And a much higher person involved than just the sheriff
And Tula and Waylon, where are they??
So many issues at one time. And then there is the Sheriff vacancy. Does she want to be sheriff?
A great read. My review doesn't do it justice. But read the book.

Release Date March 19,2026

I love this series and being back in Hart’s Ridge! This is book 15 in the series, but can definitely be read as a standalone.

This is definitely a fast paced action book one that you will not be able to put down.

Waylon is on the run from a murder charge that he did not commit. His sister Tula is doing her best to help him out.
Then we have Rae who was on her way to Rehab but never quite made it. Is she on the run or did something more seriously take place?

Sam is Alice’s daughter. She’s 14 years old and she has disappeared.

There is a lot going on and this is what definitely held my interest.

Another great read Kay thank you for always being so entertaining.

“Ticket to Ride,” Book 15 of The Hart’s Ridge Series written by Kay Bratt is quite a ride! Best book yet of the series featuring Taylor Gray, first female deputy sheriff of Hart’s Ridge, her husband, Sam, and family and all the characters intertwined in these books. Taylor has left law enforcement and she and Sam have begun a business as private investigators. The story includes all of her family members that you have continued to know throughout the series, the plot line is again capturing your attention and Kay has a brilliant way of making each book “new” in the sense that the storyline becomes it’s own story! And the series doesn’t end yet…Book 16 is in the works. I was lucky to get an advanced readers copy of Ticket to Ride and am happy to give it a 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 rating!

Kay Bratt’s fabulous Harts Ridge series continues with Ticket to Ride, the 15th book.

We catch up with ex-sheriff deputy turned p.i. Taylor Gray and her family. Although, we don’t see much of her family in this novel as the focus is on the latest conundrum: where has the young lady gone - she can’t have just disappeared into thin air and why has Alice, Taylor’s step-daughter, run away. The saga from book 14 continues without giving away any spoilers, making it an exciting read.

I love how Kay always draws me in and keeps me engaged until I’ve read the last page of her latest story. She really is a force to be reckoned with! I really do encourage you to read the previous books in the series to get the best experience and to understand the characters better.

The small town of Hart’s Ridge is rocked by scandal, and Taylor Gray is determined to uncover the truth.

While a brother and sister are on the lam to avoid small town justice at the hands of a corrupt hierarchy, decisions must be made about the cost of freedom.

Meanwhile Taylor and Sam face an investigation of greater importance than anything they’ve faced before.

Kay Bratt is gifted at weaving a fictional mystery with real life truths, based loosely on actual true crime events. The characters are relatable, and 15 books into this series, have become old friends. Kay’s talent as a writer keeps each story as fresh as the first and leaves the reader looking forward to what may happen next in Hart’s Ridge!

Kay Bratt has spun another gripping mystery in Ticket To Ride. In the quiet town of Harts Ridge, a girl has disappeared before she was delivered to rehab. The acting Sheriff calls Taylor to help find the missing girl because he is overwhelmed trying to find a potential suspect for questioning in Quig’s murder. As Taylor begins her investigation, she realizes that the missing girl is not the only one missing. While on her investigation, Taylor receives a call that one of her own is missing. What starts out as a supposed runaway turns into something much more sinister. This book has three different storylines all masterfully blended together. You won’t be able to put it down.

This was such a suspenseful story with wonderful characters that pulled me right in.  I liked how this book had two stories and how the author wove the stories together to show how they were connected.  I was so proud of Waylon and how he changed and seemed to grow up overnight with his sister, Tula's help and from Daniel, his boss at the marina where he was hiding out waiting to be found. This story also made me think of children on gaming devices and chat rooms and how they could be lured into human trafficking by higher ups that know better but think they are above the law or they don't care.  I received an advance copy of this book, and I willingly chose to write an honest review.

Small town, but the rot runs deep. A young woman disappears, a teenager runs away and vanishes, and a young brother and sister are hiding out. Taylor and Sam get involved investigating one case when his daughter, her stepdaughter also disappears. The cases seem like they are eerily similar. The town starts to get alarmed.

This is a suspenseful book that brings trafficking of girls and young women to the forefront. I enjoy Kat Bratt's story telling ability, and this one is edgier than most of her books. It covers an important issue. It's well written and you're hoping for the best outcome for all the characters.

Thanks to the author for an early version of the e-book.

Rae Bowen, Tula Rose and Waylon Skaggs, Alice Stone...What do these 4 have in common? Rae is a recidivist; Waylon Skaggs is running from a murder charge, and Alice Stone, daughter of Taylor Gray and Sam Stone simply disappears one evening. Kay Bratt has seamlessly woven a story of suspense, deceit, and evil that has penetrated the families of Hart's Ridge. Time and again, Kay takes her readers on an adventure as she connects the dots to bring down individuals who deem themselves untouchable. Ticket to Ride is indeed a ticket to a ride not soon forgotten! Well done, Kay Bratt!

It’s always great to revisit Taylor Gray & her husband Sam,they own Gratstone Investigations in Hart County. I loved everything about this book,it’s definitely a book not to miss. Even though it’s book #15,it can be read as a standalone. It has family dynamics,a young man on the run for a murder he didn’t commit (Quig was found murdered in her burnt car in book 14),missing girls (including Sam’s 14 year old daughter,Alice) money laundering/sex trafficking. Grab yourself a copy when this book releases on 3-19 & find out who’s behind all of this! Thank you Kay Bratt for this entertaining book

Ticket To Ride punches all of the buttons! Mystery Drama, Intrigue, it's all here! A bit more of the mystery surrounding Hart's Ridge come into focus, while other drama occurs. One person didn't ride soon enough, another didn't ride far enough, one shouldn't have ridden at all, and one more didn't ride away when they should have. Your job will be to figure out why any of them wanted to ride in the first place. I found myself trying to slow down my reading, but discovered that was an impossible task. Well done Kay! Hart's Ridge would make a great "Made for TV series!"
