I was just supposed to take a corpse to the hospital morgue. Simple, right?
My job at Fairlakes Community Hospital became anything but simple when the body mysteriously disappeared, only to be replaced with a monster from my worst nightmares. The dark, enormous wolfman's golden eyes flared with intelligence... and something more when he stared at me. And then he violently fled the hospital, leaving me unharmed but full of fear... and questions.
Werewolves weren't real, were they?
The cops insisted I saw a large canine, a wolf, when they questioned me about the incident. The eight foot tall bipedal brute with black fur, lethal claws and an elongated snout full of fangs was certainly no mere wolf. Why did it seem the hospital staff and authorities were brushing me off?
The town of Fairlakes wasn't as peaceful as it seemed. And to think I'd come here to escape one monster, only to fall prey to another. A feral beast of raw power. When he caught me, hunger filled his molten eyes. But he didn't want to devour me. At least not in the way I'd originally feared.
AIDAN
I couldn't imagine being anywhere else than with the woman who I connected with so briefly but profoundly on the hour of my presumed death. I don't remember much of the preceding night's events, but I needed that woman. Only her. And she would be mine.
What was wrong with me? I'd been with women before, but never more than a short fling. This one? I would keep her.
I shouldn't pursue her. I haven't been myself. At least not all the time. Something terrifying lurked under my skin and it had me in a chokehold. Yet... her allure held me captivated long enough the monster within struck.

In this book we have Willa, our MFC, she’s running from an Ex, and has started a new life as an care assistant in the hospital of a small town that is a little on the weird side, but no one digs too deep and she likes that.
Then we have Aidan, our MMC, somethings wrong with him and he crashes on the way to hospital, he discovers that he isn’t what he thought he was.
It’s amazing what can be fit into a novella! This story was action packed from start to end, and the timeline flowed well. We see the characters take everything in their stride as they discover things about themselves that they didn’t know and deal with their instant attraction. And the spice, whew, that chase scene in the woods, I need a fan!
Suspense, spookiness, self discovery, found family and spice jammed into one little book, definitely worth reading.

This was my second arc book of Arianna’s and I have to say that I enjoy her writing. Though this story was short, so everything moved along pretty quickly I still liked it. I was actually sad to see it end as I wanted to continue on with Aidan and Willa’s story. If you like fast paced shifter romances with lots of spice then you should check out the first installment of this series.

This is the first book I've read by this author, and I must say I loved it. It's a shame it's so short 😢 But I read it in an afternoon and loved every bit of it. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of this.
