"Something is coming.
Even though I am not where the others reside, I can still feel it.
A shift in the wind.
A breath on the breeze.

A whisper of war . . ."

Fifteen years have passed. Fiske and Safreise have been blessed with a daughter. But being the child of a Dreamer and Healer comes with its own challenges, especially when a prophecy declares her fate to be covered in blood and chaos. Could her destiny be more dangerous than both of her parents’ combined?

Grey has died. But a life spent abusing his Gift has plagued him with a hell that changes him into a nightmarish beast, an Otherworlder. There is a hierarchy in this hell, this Realm, and being a fresh changer, Grey sits at the bottom. But the Realm and its beasts are not the first to try and break him. The King who rules these Otherworlders has reigned for millennia, but Grey’s not used to taking orders. He was the Scourge after all. And he’s ready to make a bigger name for himself and bring two worlds to their knees.

In this epic, gut-wrenching conclusion to The Dark Whisperings Saga, crowns will be taken, prophecies will rise, and blood will spill.

Hi!!

I'm the author of "The Dark Whisperings Saga" which includes:

1. DARK WHISPERINGS
2. DARK PATH
3. DARK WAR

A few things about me: I would probably die without mustard, I eat enough bread to be labeled the 'Pillsbury dough boy' (but I'm a girl), my favorite animal is the desert rain frog and I don't think I need to explain myself on that one, sunsets are one of the best things in the world and I WILL be taking pictures, and I've wanted to fall into a fairytale for a long time, but let's be real, nobody wants to suffer the character development the mc goes through in fantasy tales *nervous giggle*

If you like stories with adventure, action, found family, witty banter, and a *dash* of romance . . . I'm your huckleberry :)

In “Dark War,” the final installment of Maria Dembouski’s gripping series, readers are taken on an emotional rollercoaster as the stakes reach unprecedented heights. The anticipation of the impending conflict between monsters and dreamers is palpable, weaving a rich tapestry of tension and urgency that propels the narrative forward.

Dembouski’s masterful storytelling shines through in the character development, where we witness profound growth in both heroes and antagonists. The relationships that blossom amidst the chaos are beautifully portrayed, adding layers of complexity and depth. Love is a recurring theme, serving as both a source of strength and vulnerability for the characters. The bonds formed throughout the series come to a head in this finale, making the emotional stakes feel incredibly real.

As the war looms, the author doesn’t shy away from the darker aspects of the narrative. Death and loss permeate the pages, leaving readers with a sense of heartbreak and reflection. Dembouski’s ability to evoke such strong emotions is commendable, and her vivid descriptions make the world of monsters and dreamers come alive.

“Dark War” is not just a conclusion but a culmination of themes explored throughout the series—courage, sacrifice, and the power of hope in the face of despair. Fans of the series will be left breathless by the twists and turns. Highly recommended for those who appreciate a blend of fantasy and deep emotional storytelling.

Okay. I know she was a young author when she started her series. I have watched her develop her style and skill in this series and I have to admit I am SO impressed with her! This third book is incredible. I couldn’t put it down! The writing skill has improved by leaps and bounds. That’s not to diss the first two books because they also kept me engrossed but let me tell you, Dark War was everything I hoped and wanted for a third book. New ideas, new situations, incredible storytelling, advanced writing and leaving me content with the ending but still wanting more!!! I believe this is a young author to watch. What she’s been able to write here at such a young age and obviously loves her craft leaves me wanting much more from her. Her storytelling is unique and creative and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next! 5 stars isn’t enough!

Wow . . . wow. I just . . . wow. I’m so happy and so crushed at the same time. It’s a very strange feeling. But it’s one of those bittersweet good feelings after you finish a series you love so much. You know, that nostalgic strange quiet?

I was SO invested in these characters that the heartache and loss they went through made me feel so raw. But the teasing and humorous banter made the sting a little less painful. Still, it stung. Again, in the best way.

I’m so happy to have read this series, and I know it’s one that I will happily reread over and over again.

It’s been a while since a series has impacted me so deeply. I will continue to follow the author and eagerly await her next book!

Wow.

So grateful I was given this book as an arc reader because WHAT A RIDE!!🤯

The story? Incredible. Amazing. But alsoooooooo . . . Sobbing. Crying. Throwing up. The characters? Hilarious. Wonderful. Unique. Fascinating. The writing? Spectacular. Funny. Deep. Thought-provoking.

This was my favorite book in the series but also the one I sobbed my little heart out to the most. A wonderful, gut-wrenching, beautiful close to a marvelous series🥹

*ugly sobbing noises*
*sound of heart cracking like my arthritic ankles*
*brief pause to laugh because this book, although full of war, had me CRACKING UP so many times😂*
*then back to trying to pry the knife from the bleeding cavity that is my chest. The empty bleeding cavity mind you because my heart has already withered away to nothing*
*fetal position initiated*

Well, time to reread book 1 to remember what joy felt like before it all went to sh*t.
