this book was adorable! It’s been a while since I read a supernatural / paranormal romance, and this one was such a great read! He’s a werewolf shifter who happens to be the governor of their town, and has been obsessed with this her and “lightly stalking” her for 3 years. This plot was amazing, it’s not super intense and focuses more on the romance part but near the climax it got really exciting and I love how everything played out. The romance was beautiful and captured my heart completely. They literally have the sweetest dynamic, and I love how he heals the wounds left from her ex husbands. He’s also the definition of devoted, like this man will do ANYTHING, this makes her happy. And the cat! Awww Jinx is an amazing addition, because werewolves don’t like cats but he’s willing to save it because she loves her so much! And who doesn’t love a cute cat as a plot device! There’s also some Christmas vibes, not super Christmassy in my opinion but still had those wintery cozy vibes. I really enjoyed this book and give it a 4/5
Snowed in with a Werewolf was a nice change from most paranormal romances. They live right out in the open alongside humans without their knowledge. The MMC, Luc, is a governor! He’s also very morally grey which I love. He finds his mate (a human) and stalks her for years for fear of bringing her into his world. It wasn’t quite clear at first that she was indeed his mate and not just his obsession, but once the FMC starts reciprocating his feelings quite quickly, it makes sense. It was great to have an intricate world of paranormals and the power dynamics within their society. The side characters are integral to the story as well and also nicely done morally grey! And did I mention the spice? It’s on fire!
Luc is so gone for Penny. He would literally do anything for her. Being a shifter he doesn't like animals but he tries to befriend her cat because she loves it so much. Their romance was cute, fluffy and spicy all in the right ways. The ending felt so abrupt. The final conflict felt rushed , especially after all the buildup .
Except for the ending I loved this whole book. A cozy, obsessive, paranormal winter romance that definitely hit the spot.
I was given the opportunity to read Snowed in with a Werewolf as part of the Author's ARC Team and I am grateful for the chance to provide my honest thoughts on this book which is the 3rd in the series x
Luc is your typical governor all serious and demands respect but with this comes huge responsibilities because not only does he govern the humans he is basically the ruler of the shifters (Once Humans turned into Wolves, Big Cats, Bears, etc) x He has a very dark background that was highlighted upon in Book 1 - Werewolf for Christmas - but it was nice to get a better understanding & more information throughout this book x
Met Penny who Luc is just obsessed with to the point he stocks her both day & night, causing them to met in Penny's house being broken into x Their relationship moves quickly & sometimes doesnt always come across like everything is always given to Penny as a choice, this a believe isn't intentional but more part of Luc's personality & to give Penny her credit Penny definitely handles herself in sticky stressful situations x
Overall I would say this is a nice addition to the other 2 book in this series bringing the characters over this series together as a group to help combat a new threat x Yes there are times when things dont always seem bright and cherry but in the fantasy world do we as readers even want a true gentleman? x These men know how to treat their women while having some morally grey attributes & this woild be my reason for recommending this series xxxxxx
This was a fun, fast-moving shifter romance that kept my interest, even if a few parts didn’t quite land for me. The pacing is very quic, events happen one after anothe, but surprisingly, it doesn’t create too many plot holes. Penny and Luc’s relationship develops fast, but it still feels believable and not awkward or forced.
I really enjoyed the backstory around how shifters came to be and Luc’s role in the supernatural world. I actually wish we’d spent more time there, because the concept is fascinating. Once Penny is turned, though, the story lost a bit of momentum for me. She drinks the potion, shifts, has her first kill, and… that’s it. Everything happens so smoothly that the emotional impact disappears.
The ending also felt a little dry, I would’ve liked more depth or a stronger wrap-up considering how intense the premise is. And while the spice level is definitely high (and well done!), some scenes went on long enough that I found myself wanting to skip ahead to return to the main plot.
Overall, it’s a solid standalone read with a unique setup, enjoyable chemistry, and a refreshing political-meets-supernatural angle. Not perfect, but still entertaining, especially if you love a fast-burn, snowed-in, high-spice shifter romance.
This isn't a bad shifter x human romance at all! Luc is a hardheaded shifter that craves power to be able to control the entire shifter and human populations, with good reason. Penny is an introverted hurt 30-year-old divorcee with a criminal record and not much of a life.
I actually think the concept of changing human beings into supernatural creatures (at the hands of a sorcerer) is unique and should be looked into further. I appreciate these supernatural creatures only have one mind, not a separate entity locked inside their human selves (like many typical shifter books out there). I also appreciate that there is no mind-link and they aren't entirely indestructible; they are bound by some natural and human constraints.
I think the writing started to go downhill around the 60% mark. It began to feel forced, like there had to be just one more hurdle for Penny and Luc to overcome. That isn't really necessary. Sometimes keeping it short and simple is best. The dialogue, actions of the characters, and vocabulary is stiff; the word choice could be better.
Overall, if you're looking for a cute and fluffy shifter read, this isn't a bad option at all.
Snowed in with a werewolf who is both attentive and protective? Yes, please. This book gave me exactly what I wanted; it’s got forced proximity, simmering tension, and that delicious mix of danger and comfort that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The cabin setting felt cozy and claustrophobic all at once, and Luc, the MMC, had the perfect balance of protective growl and vulnerable heart. I devoured it in one sitting, grinning at the banter and swooning at the slow‑burn heat. It’s a paranormal romance with a dash of suspense and a whole lot of chemistry.
The chemistry between Penny and Luc is impossible to ignore; it’s dangerous, magnetic, and laced with its own kind of magic. His possessive intensity should send her running, but instead it sparks a fire she can’t put out. Every moment snowed in together feels like a battle between fear and desire, and I couldn’t stop turning the pages to see which side would win.
If you love paranormal romance with stalking intensity, elemental magic, and a heroine who has to decide whether to run or surrender, this one absolutely ticks all those boxes!
A huge thank you to Addison James & Epica Books PR for the early copy!
Snowed in with a Werewolf was a really enjoyable paranormal romance. I liked how werewolves exist openly in society instead of being hidden, and how their world has its own rules and power dynamics. It makes everything feel believable and different from the usual shifter stories.
Luc is a very strong and morally grey character. He has a lot of authority, and the way he is drawn to the heroine is intense without being overwhelming. Their relationship starts from a place of obsession and slowly shifts into something softer and emotional, which worked well for me.
The heroine Penny is more introverted and has gone through a lot so her reactions feel real. I appreciated how she responds to Luc over time rather than instantly accepting everything. The side characters also add depth and feel naturally connected to the story.
The winter setting gives the whole book a cozy vibe and makes the romance feel sweeter. When the spice shows up it is definitely strong and satisfying!!!
If you enjoy shifter romances with morally grey MMCs a slower emotional build and a unique world where paranormals and humans coexist this one is worth reading
Okay I definitely like Luc in this book! Book 1 certainly painted him a certain way but it was amazing watching him change throughout this book for the one person he actually cares about. I do love me a little morally grey werewolf and Luc certainly fits the bill. I mean can his light stalking even qualify as stalking. He did leave out a few key components 😆!
I will say that I have highly enjoyed this group throughout the books and love the little girl group that has come from it. Also poor Max…having to be stuck around all that tension! 😉 (I think he is my favourite tho, cause he’s so gruff and surly but is also a gigantic teddy bear.) But I will say Luc has some certain qualities that highly resonate with me 😏, like damn that man and his mouth! He definitely also made me fall in love with him.
Also, I think Penny is a super badass, with her history and what she did and then how she dealt with everything in a short amount of time shows how strong she is a person, even if she never saw it. Loved her so much! She was a great compliment to Luc’s cold character! Very fun dynamic and a great winter read!
The spice was solid and honestly one of the stronger parts of the story. However, the build-up to those scenes often felt awkward or confusing, with several moments that made me pause and think, “Why is this happening like this?”
The obsession trope was too much for me and crossed from intense into uncomfortable at times. I also think this book suffers if you haven’t read the previous two in the series. There’s a lot of assumed knowledge about side characters, and without that context, parts of the story felt underdeveloped.
My biggest issue was the ending. There’s a long lead-up to the final conflict, and then it’s resolved way too quickly—everything wraps up in just a couple of chapters. It felt rushed and anticlimactic compared to how much time was spent building toward it.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad read and I did enjoy parts of it, but pacing issues, trope execution, and the abrupt ending kept it from being more than a 3.5-star book for me.
The story doesn’t try to be overly complex, and that actually works in its favor. It’s easy to sink into, with a strong focus on chemistry, instinct, and that irresistible pull between human and werewolf. The werewolf MMC has that protective, dominant edge you expect, while still showing warmth and restraint, which balances the dynamic nicely.
The writing is straightforward and engaging, making it a great choice if youre looking for something comforting and escapist rather than heavy or plot-driven. The snowy setting adds to the intimacy and isolation, heightening the emotional connection and sense of inevitability between the characters.
Overall, this book is perfect for readers who enjoy short paranormal romances with clear tropes, strong attraction, and a cozy winter vibe. It’s not meant to reinvent the genre, but it delivers exactly what it promises, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.
This paranormal romance was not what I was expecting. However, that is a good thing. Before I tell you what I liked about about this book, let me say this could have been expanded to a larger book amd a lot more story and detail added. That would have definitely made this ook phenominal. The ending felt rushed to me so taking the time to really finesse these areas would help.
The overall storyline was good. This was a cute little shifter romance. Luc, the werewolf and Penny, the human, actually compliment one another. I loved how penny thought for herself and she didn't just go with the flow automatically where Luc was concerned. It took some time and I appreciated that. I do feel like the author slowly developed their relationship in the right way. This was one of those warm, cozy reads, and I feel like with a little more finesse and a lot more detail, this book could really be something. If another book is developed based off this, that is what I suggest.
Snowed in with a werewolf is a shifter romance, with a Christmas setting. There's some light stalking, and some violence, but most of the story doesn't touch heavy themes.
I liked the setting, the sense of urgency and danger that bring Penny and Luc together. The whole romance, we'll be together forever bit was a bit too quick to develop, we go from strangers to lovers in two days, with an unknown enemy at their back and a less than ideal situation. I didn't feel the love, just the need to not be alone.
There's a lot of references to the two previous books in the series. I read this one as a standalone and didn't really feel like I was missing anything.
Overall, it was an ok read, with some nice spice to act as buffer between the more intense parts of the story. Shout out to Jinkx the cat, a loyal companion and comic relief
I absolutely loved this book. It was a short, sweet and spicy christmas novel. The plot was straight forward, fast pase and I enjoyed every second of it… the spice was spicing in the BEST ways. Lets just say by the end if the book, you’ll want a Luc in your life. I know I do!!!
Lucius Lawson is the governor of New York and the King of the supernatural creatures. One day he meets Penny and from that day he becomes obsessed with her. *enter here love at first sight and smell lol* He tried to keep her out of his world but with some turn of events it isn’t possible. And maybe it was for the best, in my helpless romantic opinion. Penny has NOT had an easy life at all. But she is strong and keeps going. One night after an attempted robbery she meets the governor himself… in her living room. And just like that she becomes part of his world.
Lucius ‘Luc’, the Governor of New York and a werewolf, met Penny, a waitress, three years ago when she was served his table. He has not been able to stop thinking about her, so he follows her home. Penny has a hard time trusting men because of her past, but Luc saves her after an attempted robbery at her sister’s house where she lives. Things progress from there as Penny is thrust into a whole new world. Follow them as Penny is targeted by other magical people once they find her to be Luc’s only known weakness. But don’t forget the cat!
Tropes: He falls first Touch her and die Forced proximity Found family Obsessive MMC Slight stalker romance
Thank you to Epica Book PR and Addison James for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC.
Luc is so freaking gone for Penny, it’s amazing. I’m down with how fast Penny accepts everything, too. The shifter lore in this series is very interesting, and I appreciated the thought put into it. I hadn’t read the other books before reading this one, and while there was enough context to follow, it’s definitely better to read the other books first. I didn’t factor this into my review at all, it’s just something to note for other readers. My biggest hang up honestly is that the ending was very abrupt. It wraps up fine, but it just ends. I don’t think that’s a terrible thing, I was just caught off guard.
In this paranormal (light) stalker romance, Luc is a morally grey governor and future contender of the President of US. He also happens to be a shifter hiding in plain site. But when he meets Penny, he struggles with trying to decide whether or not to bring her into his world.
Spoiler alert - he does. And then they get snowed in together. Let's just say a lot of stuff happens. But the chemistry is well-written, even though it does happen relatively quickly. The book is fast-paced, and fun to read. I think some of the characters were from previous books so I didn't have as much context going in, but it was a fun read.
Thank you EPICA BOOKS PR and Addison James for the review copy.
Snowed In With a Werewolf is a fated mates and forced proximity Christmas story. This is Luc and Penny's story with insta-love and a hidden enemy making shifters. Their story is an obsessed MMC who wants to protect his mate and a human FMC who doesn't know anything about the supernatural world she lives in. I love how Luc lives a double life as a werewolf/governor of the state, both leader and protector all in one. I also love how quick and understanding Penny is when she learns who she is to Luc and the threat that is after him. I really enjoyed their story and want to read the others.
I voluntarily leave an honest review of this gifted advance reader copy.
This novel features an obsessive mmc Luc who happens to be a werewolf and the unaware fmc Penny. Trouble follows when someone coming for Luc sees his interest in Penny and breaks into her sisters house where she is staying alone over Christmas. Luc must take her away with him to his safe house to save her from danger.
The obsessive stalking is almost a character trait. He loves her deeply and won’t let anyone in his way. Penny takes learning about werewolves and other supernatural beings as well as any human can. Their love is hot and heavy even if it moves quickly. You get to meet some of the friends and family in Lucs life that are interesting.
*** If I could do half marks, I would mark this a 3.5 ***
This story is cute! But for me, the timeline felt rushed. Everything happens within a week or something like that. I wish that there had been a bit of a buildup between Luc and Penny's first big interaction and then the rest of the story. It would have made it a bit more believable. But still a good read! The spice was definitely spicing in this book!
Thank you to Epica Book PR and Addison James for the opportunity to be able to receive an advanced reader copy!
This is my first time reading Addison James book and honestly I like it a lot more the I thought I would.
This book is about werewolf shifter x human. From starting it showed the story between mc’s. How they start bonding and getting to know each other. The tension between both and plot. Everything is good.
I’ve enjoyed myself while reading. It’s a good easy to read book. I would recommend this book to anyone
A werewolf shifter falls in love with a human. If you are looking for a paranormal romance, this is more about the romance than the main character being a werewolf. What I loved about this book was the connection between the main characters. These well written characters are developed and have depth. The devotion Luc has and the lengths he will go to her happy will have you swooning. This is a fantastic read.
I requested this ARC purely because that cover is absolutely gorgeous and I have zero regrets. From the first chapter, I was completely hooked. I've read books by Addison James before and they always deliver, and this book is no exception.
You'll enjoy this if you love these tropes:
❄️ (Light) stalker romance ❄️ Obsessive mmc ❄️ He falls first ❄️ Forced proximity ❄️Snowed in ❄️ Touch her and d!e ❄️ Found family.
Thank you Epica Book PR and Addison James for the arc.
Snowed in With a Werewolf by Addison James. I was not a huge fan of this book unfortunately. It felt like I missed the first half of this book. There was no build up of why Luc was stalking Penny. It all felt very rushed in a way. Like one minute he was in her house and then she wakes up and finds him. Then they have to leave. It felt all over the place. ⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars. Very spicy tho 🌶️🌶️
This was my first Addison James book. It was nice for a holiday paranormal, shifter romance. The spicy was just enough sometimes focused a little too much on it verse the plot of the story. Luc, a werewolf governor stalking his human mate, Penny, is just up my alley. A nice filler book 📕 🐾 Maybe if I start the series from the 1st book I could get a better understanding of their world although it is a standalone. Thank you Epica Book PR for the ARC
I really enjoyed this book. The idea of werewolves living openly with humans was such a nice change. Luc is intense and morally grey in a way that kept me hooked and the Penny felt relatable with everything she has been through. Their connection grows naturally, and the winter setting made the romance feel extra cozy. The spice was great too.
This was a surprisingly sweet shifter romance. Luc the MMC is powerful and very devoted, and I loved how different he is from the usual MMCs. The FMC Penny is quieter and more damaged, which made their dynamic feel real. The worldbuilding was interesting, and the side characters added depth. Definitely a solid paranormal read.
The vibes were cozy, a little spicy, and just fun in that way that makes you forget the world exists for a few hours.
The characters? Ugh, I love them. They just click in this way that feels natural, and I was lowkey grinning at so many moments. And the romance? Sweet, messy, and exactly the right amount of swoon.
I can honestly say I enjoyed this as much a recipe for love. I like that you got to know Luc better in this book & see how totally honest for Penny he is! And how Penny turns out to be a bad ass . I also like that all the characters from previous books came into this one too. It’s well paced & lots of action in physical sense & smexy sense 🌶️🌶️🌶️ Definitely a fun book.
