The only rules that matter to me are on the ice, and the ones I make for her.
Even when she doesn’t know we’re playing.

Cora Grace has a reputation as a b*ll buster. She’s who the club calls in when a media sh*tstorm hits, the one they rely on to keep us in line when the players don’t play nice.

Cora thinks she can tame us. Thinks she can tame me. She has her own set of games where there’s only one

Her.

What she doesn't know yet is that we’re already playing a game, and I don’t play by her rules.
But she'll know soon enough.

PUCK MY PREY is a standalone dark romance read in Sofia Aves' JERICHO CHIMERAS ICE HOCKEY SPORTS ROMANCE world.

If you love sports romance with razor-sharp tension, a fierce heroine who doesn’t bend for anyone, and a hero who is obsession disguised as swagger, Puck My Prey delivers a wickedly addictive push-and-pull you won’t be able to put down.

Sofia Aves gives us a story that’s fast, feral, deeply intimate, and filled with that delicious “who’s really in control?” energy that makes enemies-to-lovers so irresistible.

🧊 Cora Grace: The Woman Every Hockey Player Fears—and Secretly Worships

Cora isn’t the team mom.
She isn’t the PR princess.
She’s the fire extinguisher the club calls when the whole place is about to burn down.

Smart. Unshakable. Perfectly polished and emotionally untouchable.

She keeps players in line with a look.
She diffuses scandals with a smile.
She controls the narrative like she invented the concept.

Cora has rules. Boundaries. Absolute power.

At least… she thinks she does.

Because there’s one player who isn’t playing her game.

🥅 He’s the Team’s Golden Boy—But the Devil When It Comes to Her

Our hero (and shark in skates) doesn’t hide what he wants.
He circles. He studies. He stalks his moment like a predator on the ice.

He knows Cora thinks she’s in control.
He knows she thinks she can handle him the way she handles everyone else.
But he also knows one thing she hasn’t figured out yet:

They’re already playing—and she’s already losing.

His internal monologue?
Pure obsession wrapped in charm and dangerous confidence.

He doesn’t want to break her reputation.
He wants to break down her walls.

And then claim whatever is left.

🔥 Electric Chemistry with Heavy ‘Game On’ Energy

The push and pull between them is elite.
Every scene crackles—eye contact as sharp as slapshots, flirtation that feels like combat, tension so thick you could carve a rink in it.

It’s enemies-to-lovers meets power struggle meets psychological foreplay.

What makes it addicting?

✨ She refuses to bow.
✨ He refuses to stop chasing.
✨ And somewhere between strategy and surrender, they both start to fall.

This isn’t a soft, slow melt.
This is a collision—fast, hard, inevitable.

❄️ What Makes This Story Stand Out

Readers will love this if they crave:

✔️ Obsessive, cunning hockey hero
✔️ Sharp, strong, intimidating heroine who doesn’t fold
✔️ Authority vs. rebellion dynamic
✔️ Games, tension, and psychological seduction
✔️ Heat that hits like a slapshot to the chest
✔️ Enemies-to-lovers with equal power on both sides

The romance is spicy.
The banter is cutting.
The emotional stakes sneak up on you.
And the payoff? Worth every second.

Puck My Prey is darkly playful, fiercely sexy, and wildly addictive—a perfect blend of sports romance swagger and predator/prey tension.

It’s not just a love story.
It’s a competition.
A strategy.
A chase.
A surrender neither of them saw coming.

If you love obsessions with rules, reputations, and the thrill of trying—and failing—to resist the one person who was built to ruin you… put this gripping, deliciously dangerous hockey romance at the top of your TBR.

This is a great, fast paced story from Sofia Aves, a cat and mouse story between a powerful cat and a controlling mouse.
Cora Grace may be controlling but she is no mouse, her stare had brought grown men to their knees and now she was glaring at the Jericho Chimera Ice Hockey team. Cora was the hot cutie with nerves of steel that Coach Bishop brought in to smooth the waters when the team were in trouble, she was the one their careers depended on, and the waters were very choppy at the moment.
Heath Valentine had been brought from the side lines as Goalie, when Solace Hunter, the teams regular goalie was injured, it was the chance that Heath had been waiting for, only upright, demanding but stunningly beautiful, Cora stood in his way.
Lat night most of the team were drunk, even though they all knew that they had an early start, but it was Heath's picture that was plastered across the tabloids and Heath who had to face the wrath of the woman who had haunted his dreams.
Cora and Heath's story is fast and furious, she was unapproachable and needed to be in control, but Heath was patient, he knew that his time would come........... but would he still have a place on the team. This is a steamy enemies to lovers story with characters that you probably shouldn't like but you do.

I refuse to be like you liars in the ratings so far. This was such a rough read

The whole team is a bunch of man children and the coach doesn’t make it better, he just excuses their shitty behavior. Poor Cora for having to deal with all of them

Also she folds for this man 3 chapters in so don’t think she won’t lol.

Honestly the mmc isn’t even a starter. Someone tell homeboy he is only playing because someone else got hurt. He isn’t hot or talented enough to act the way he does

Oh and heath is in a media scandal so what do they decide to do? Fuck outside.. outside a bar.. crawling with paparazzi

Another fantastic read from this author.

This book is about Heath and Cora.  Heath is rather conceited and arrogant, and once he set his sights on Cora, he was determined to claim her.  Cora is a strong, independent woman who can't decide if she should allow Heath the opportunity to claim her but doesn't seem able to resist his charms.

This is beautifully written, with twists and turns I didn't see coming and kept me hooked from start to finish.

I just loved this new book in Sofia's hockey series. The story has a somewhat reluctant hero in Valentine but he's the kind of man you love to hate. I also love the push-pull between him & Cora as they are trying to navigate their relationship? I think the only thing I disliked about this book was that it ended way to soon. I wanted to hear more of their love story!!

The author has given us an enemies-to-lovers story that pulls us into the lives of Cora and Heath. The darker story keeps us turning the pages with a stalker, obsession, secrets, determination and steam.

A fantastic book that takes us into the lives of Cora and Heath. He plays to win, and he does so with Cora, even though she doesn't know or realize he's playing a game to get her. But Cora finds out soon enough, and then it's too late, because he's got her. A delightful sports novel with plenty of steam.

Heath and Cora start off no really getting a long due to what had previously happened. This book skips in the timeline a bit but over all not bad for such a short book. This book gives you sports romance, mystery and spice all in a short day read.

Cora and Valentine. The media girl for the hockey team and the newest player. A scandal of epic proportions. Lots of mystery. Closing ranks. No statements made. A very dark romance. Some questionable choices. A little hard to understand all the situations but it’s all explained in the end.

It was an interesting read. Heath and Cora love to go back and forth with each other. Cora had to put up with a lot between Heath and his teammates. Heath is kind of OTT. It was a quick and spicy read. It was easy to get through. This story is not my favorite read from her but still worth the read for me.
