1861. Two brothers. One impulsive summer. Journeys that change everything.
Tom Ballard never meant for things to go so wrong. But after a string of missteps, he and his brother Terry are banished from the comfort of their New York estate. Would signing on to a merchant ship become their greatest mistake—entangling them in a foul web of danger? Or could sailing the high seas offer the freedom, adventure, and camaraderie they crave? Half a world away, Japanese siblings Sara and Daisuke Ogawa begin a journey of their own. Their newfound Christian faith is tested when fate places them in the path of a “barbaric” Ballard brother.
Entrapped is a clean, character-rich Christian adventure of growing pains, brotherhood, survival, and discovery.
Elizabeth Ann Boyles brings historical eras to life in her fictional stories of adventure, danger, and opposing cultures, with a strand of romance. She developed a love for the Far East, one source of her stories' settings, when she lived in Japan, where she met her missionary husband. She spent many years teaching and building relationships with her international students at a Christian university in Dallas. After her husband of fifty years took his final step into heaven, she moved to Colorado. She treasures spending time at the foot of the Rocky Mountains with her daughter and son while entreating her three Texas grandsons to visit often. .
I love Ann Boyles’ writing. She never fails to provide believable, adventurous tales. It’s always fun to learn about new cultures as she weaves them into her novels. Leaving us on a literal cliffhanger, I can’t wait to read book 2 of the Brothers in Peril Trilogy!
