i have been eating up reformed manwhore books lately but this was not one of them.
we get pages of him with ow. literal pages of details i don’t need. reading a manwhore book obviously you know they’ve been around but i don’t need details of his thoughts about ow. and for him to keep being nice to her the whole book 🙄idc who she is, if he cares so much about kam he could have put ow in her place a lot sooner than he did. grossss
he called her “darlin’” every 2 seconds it got old real quick. we get it, you’re from texas.
the writing was annoying me too. it was like pages of just run on sentences. i skipped over all the sex scenes cause i literally just couldn’t care less

OWD BUT!!! He’s not with anyone after he meets the FMC he’s OBSESSED WITH HER!!! His one time one nightstand he got a BJ from is a LOON!!! He does call her hot in the beginning but he soon realizes she’s nuts we do witness all of this
She catches her fiancé cheating with her best friend so she moves in with her other best friends her and her Bestie decide to go to a baseball game. She had bought those tickets for her fiancé as a wedding gift and it was a meet and greet, and it was instant love at first sight from colt
She basically isn’t ready for a relationship so she says if Fat breeds them back, they will do a relationship and his best friend and Seth also talking about her best friend and her best friend does help him out. He sends her gifts like Riley green tickets, blue cowgirl, boots food. And the Best Friend helps all of this.
They bring them back together at the hospital where she works when he is doing meet and greet with kids and he did not know she worked there
The third act kind of crazy his obsessed will not stay and tries to blackmail him with breaking up with her. He has his twin pretend to be him, and they record her admitting to video in them and paying someone to Photoshop pictures of the girlfriend. There are a few scenes where she gets a little insecure, but she does handle it well because the psycho will not stand stands like posting pictures and stuff of them. One of his friends on the team rents a private jet to get him home to comfort her.
I would love a series of the baseball boys also, but the next series is the Brothers
Future books, I think we’re gonna get the twin Cole and McKenzie it sounds like they have a past. He’s a recovering alcoholic and sounds like he blacked out and slept around I’m wondering if she was broken hearted about that
Cade is a single dad I’m thinking teacher for him

I absolutely loved this book. The storyline, the time frame, the ending 🥰 Colt is definitely in the top 5 book boyfriend spots. Not to mention, the author did a fantastic job with side characters and siblings! I felt all of the love and humor and really felt like I was just existing in their joy.

Colt's POV the first time seeing Kamden at the meet and greet: Oh.My.Fckin.God. I've never seen a more beautiful woman in my life. She's in my jersey and looks like mine."
This is another few reasons we love Colt:
- Kam beams up at me, like she’s proud that I like her food. Honestly, this might be the worst shit I’ve ever tasted, but I’d never tell her that. I’d hype up anything she made for me because she took the time to care for me.
- “I know you don’t get it, Brycen, but that woman,” I say, pointing toward Kam, “is going to be my f king wife one day.” I keep eyeing him hard to make sure he understands my message. “Mark. My. F king. Words.”
This is the authors debut novel and I think she knocked it out of the park. Of course there are a few things that could use some work but overall loved it.

This book is about Colt, a star MLB pitcher, and Kamden, an ER nurse and the love of his life. From the second I started reading, I could not put it down! I’m honestly wondering what the heck Jordy put in this book because it had me hooked from page one.
It starts with both Colt and Kamden finding themselves in situations they never expected to be in. After having her life completely turned upside down, Kamden decides to go to a baseball game with her girls and meet her ex-fiancé’s favorite player. What she didn’t realize was that his favorite player would soon become the love of her life.
This book perfectly captures love at first sight and shows how fate can intertwine two people who live completely different lives. He’s a famous pitcher, and she’s a big city ER nurse but that doesn’t stop fate from bringing them together in the most beautiful way.
It’s a long book, but the level of detail is incredible. You never feel like you’re missing anything it’s all right there. The connection between Colt and Kamden is so deep and emotional, you can feel their love oozing off the pages. Trust me, once you start, you won’t want to stop reading.
This is Jordy’s debut novel, but I have no doubt we’ll see her on the New York Times Best Seller list one day. She has the kind of talent that deserves to be recognized. I’m completely in love with this story, and I cannot wait to see what she writes next. I’ll be recommending this one to every single sports romance reader I know!

I absolutely love this book. MLB playboy pitcher meets ER nurse in a he falls first romance. This book truly maps out how the right person can completely change your mindset on life and they can also mend the pieces you thought were broken. Colt to me embodies the "if he wanted to he would" mentality fully even when he was just waiting for his chance in the wings. Kamden has a hard time trusting and letting herself truly be loved, but once her walls come down she couldn't imagine her life any other way. The way his teammates, her coworkers, and both families support the relationship and Colt and Kam individual was refreshing. Colt's family mainly his 3 brothers are his biggest support system. The story truly centers around fate bringing people together. This story has drama, stalking, cheating (not between MMC/FMC), 3/5 spice level, and HEA.
Jordy Robins did something in this book that I absolutely loved and felt like a great experience. Each chapter has a song at the beginning under the title. The songs fit the chapters so perfectly and it just added to the experience of reading the story. I do not know what her process for choosing the songs for each chapter, but they were always spot on. It also ties to a playlist theme throughout the book. It gave the story a soundtrack like I wish my own life had.
I absolutely loved this story and was super excited to find out that it is the first in the series and there are more to come.

A chronic playboy, Colt thinks he's scoring a one-night stand until he realizes the woman he went home with is obsessed with him, with his sports memorabilia on her walls and a zodiac-inspired determination that they are meant to be together. With the cheating ex-fiancé and the gushing superfan both unwilling to accept that they can't force the objects of their affection into a relationship, Kamden and Colt each bring a lot of baggage when they embark on a new relationship.
Having lost both her best friend and her fiancé in a single blow, Kamden understandably has lingering trust issues. It would be difficult enough to start a new relationship so soon after betrayal, but Colt's stalker is armed with compromising photographs and enough influence to convince even Colt's close associates that they are together. Kamden's constant inner turmoil about whether Colt is truly invested is understandable and makes her a very relatable main character.
Told through dual narration, scenes are often portrayed from both points of view, allowing the reader to experience an omniscient perspective. For readers who do not like the miscommunication trope in romance novels, you can be assured that Kamden and Colt both communicate very well, so the stress that comes with knowing the truth while characters are at odds is not present in this book.
Overall, I truly enjoyed reading The One for Me by Jordy Robins. With multiple explicit intimate scenes, this book is best suited for adult fans of sports romance and the black cat/golden retriever trope. The only critique I can offer is that the book started to stray toward the end, shifting focus to Colt's family and other issues that weren't central to the story.

I really liked the book and will for sure read the series as more of the books come out. However, the hardest time I had with this book was the baseball errors.
Pitchers who start the game typically do not make it to the 9th inning. 7 is probably the average to be honest. I get the one where he had the no hitter, but the author made it seem as if he pitched a whole game every game. And the fact that he didn’t pitch one inning and the rookie did that one for him and then he came back to pitch the 9th inning… also doesn’t happen. Once a player takes over on the mound the other player does not come back out to pitch. And finally one day off between pitching games for a starting pitcher is not a thing. Especially if they pitch 9 innings the last game they pitched at. Most teams have a 6 man rotation for starting pitchers, otherwise the player would blow out their arm. Now I grew up going to baseball games so I know the sport of baseball and the rules very well, so I can see how those things are missed from someone not familiar with the game. BUT if you are going to write a sports romance, I beg you authors, please do more research.

4⭐️ I enjoyed reading this spicy sports romance by indie author, Jordy Robins. I really liked Kamden the FMC but honestly Colt the MMC was just a little too much for me, like he was just too perfect. Chapter one started off strong right off the bat (pun intended) with juicy drama and the ending was a thrilling page turner. Super sweet love story, cheating ex, and a psycho stalker/blackmailer made for great entertainment. I loved that the last chapter gave a little snippet of how life turned out for Colt & Kam with a 5 years later chapter… a lot of books don’t do that and I always wonder what’s next for the couple or what life looked like after. Looking forward to reading more from this author in the future!

Look, man… I’m a sucker.
A fucking sucker for a sports romance. I don’t care what sport it is — if there’s an athlete, I’m in. And if the MMC is down bad? Even better. Add in a hint of Serendipity vibes? Yeah, it was game over for me.
This book just made me happy.
Like, sit-there-smiling-like-an-idiot happy.
It’s got that perfect mix of fate, chemistry, and the kind of romance that just feels good. Plus, I’m a huge fan of interconnected standalones and now I absolutely want to read about this entire family.
Found this author because of TikTok… and now I’m telling you:
you need to read her too.

This story is all about fate, healing, and the kind of love that puts the pieces back together. Colt is the definition of “if he wanted to, he would,” and Kamden’s journey learning to trust made this so heartfelt.
I loved the strong found-family vibes, especially Colt’s brothers, and the chapter playlists were such a fun, immersive touch—this book truly has a soundtrack.

1st book?
I can’t find any other books by this author so I can only assume this is a debut novel! And what an amazing read it is! I’m dying for more of these characters!! Like Tay and Jake what happens! There are 3 other brothers and I need this stories! Ugh I need to know! I like the twists and turns the suspense and well it’s a hot read!! 🔥 I highly recommend!

Y’all… I wanted to like this book. The concept had so much potential, but the execution was rough. The writing was extremely cheesy, and while I love a good insta-love, this one was next-level bad.
I genuinely liked the idea of the story and the overall plot, but it was dragged out with way too many unnecessary details and not enough solid research. Entire pages could be skimmed—or skipped completely—and you’d still know exactly what was happening.
Great shell, great ideas… but poorly written and badly executed.

This story is good. The main characters are very likable, and the side characters add so much to the story. There are some twists in this book, but it all works out in the end. I liked that you get to see the HEA! I would read more books from this author.

Professional baseball player who is also a texas cowboy, and a nurse who found out her fiance was cheating on her with her best friend. Instant chemistry - only her ex won't leave her alone and his one night stand is the definition of insane. Their love story had some turbulence but no true break up. Really enjoyed all of the nuggets left for future stories.

I loved this book! It had me hooked from the beginning, and I struggled to put it down. I was already skipping ahead in Chapter 1 😳🤦🏽♀️ The chemistry between Kam and Colt was perfection! Oh, and the spice 🥵 yes, please!

Love/hate relationship with this one! Overall rating 2.5
There were parts I really enjoyed in this book and others that were very annoying. With the plot being so predictable, I’d say it’s trending 2.5 stars instead of 3.

I think this leaning 2.5 ⭐️ for me. I liked the story, but it was repetitive and I sear she said the same thing multiple times in the same page. He also winked multiple times in one page. The writing wasn’t the best and it could definitely use some editing.

Liked this debut book
There was a lot of winks from MMC but the overall story was cute. Also loved all the rep for the Texas and Red Dirt artists. With a little polishing this could be an excellent series.

Definitely not my favorite book. The premise was fun, but at certain points I felt like we were rushing so much!! Colt and Kamden were sweet and their relationship was so fun, it was just missing something.

This was a great mash up of baseball and cowboy romance. I loved that each chapter had a song to go with it, such a unique thing to add and give that much more connection to how the characters are feeling. My only complaint is Colt did wink way too much, yes he is a charming cowboy but surely his eye is tired from all the flirtatious winking he did. Other than that the story was great, the characters were great, the romance was great. I can't wait to see what else we will get from the author, so many characters we could get books from!

Wasn’t the worst book I’ve read but it was not very good. The MCs annoyed me and the romance kinda sucked.
