This was a poorly written book in which the characters give and accept lousy advice that contradicts their faith. The resolution to the main problem is simplistic and lacks believability. The main character really engaged my interest, but after the first couple of chapters (in which I was rooting for her completely), she became flat and uninteresting. Save your time. There is much better Amish writing out there. I expected better from someone who was raised in a similar background.
the story was too short. I would like to read the next ones but have difficulty finding them. I was readingthe jacob series and was not able to obtain the 2-3 etc. books .I was told I had read them ,when I hadnot.
a young amish girl becomes nanny to a young man,s son, and falls in love even though the man she loves is not amish, what happens will surprise you and warm you
She kept me away from my house work, I was so into this Amish Nanny, I didn't do a thing but read and also got so much out of the Bible verses she I planted in it as well as all her books. This is about a young Amish girl that took a job as a Nanny for a Handsome bitter p English man. It did not add up he did not want his child to see a picture are anything about his dead Mother. It has a shocking ending. Grab a cup of tea are coffee and settle down with this family. I love this Read and if you like pure, clean ,and exciting Amish reads . You will love this.
Olive is Amish, without a husband, without a job and concerned she will become a burden to her parents. Which thinking gives her an idea that might help her and her friends who are also unwed. Little did she know that getting a job would be a life changing event. She wasn't trying to get a job as a nanny, that was more her friend, Amy's field, but she took it. Instantly she fell in love with little Leo. What would happen when she met Leo's father? Would her hire her? Or kick her to the curb? This is a sweet story, fictional of course but with a happy ending. Well with the read.
This is the first I've read of Samantha Price's work. The plot is very simple with a strong, hard to miss message. A scriptural passage precedes each chapter underlining the moral. It is difficult to accomplish much in the way of subplots or character complexity in a relatively short book, but I think it would be an excellent story for preteens up to mid teen years, especially those open to Christian values or at least not opposed to them. I've read and numerous Amish stories, but as a grandma, this one appealed to me as good reading for my granddaughters, 11 to 15 years old.
Olive Hesh and her 2 girlfriends decide to look for work in the English world. Olive is offered a job by Sonia to be a nanny for her son and his child Leo.
I did not like this book. Its a short story, not much development. It also is not very credible with the Amish beliefs and it totally loses me at the end with how the story ends. Quick read but it left me hoping for a better story. Good read maybe for a pre teen or teenager.
Olive gets hired by little Leo's grandmother as a nanny without consulting Leo's father. Blake does not like Olive and gives her harsh words. Olive finds out why he is so angry and develops feelings for him, but he is an Englisher and not appropriate marriage material. What happens next I will let you find out by reading this book.
I think things developed rather fast for Oliver e and Blake I think the story line e moved a little fast I did not not seem have time to really get acquainted with the characters in this book. Although it had a Happy ending I think I really did not get a good read on the characters.
This was a short book about an Amish young woman who takes a job as a Nanny for an English man. I don't want to spoil too much but there is an attraction between the two so they have to figure out what to do with their different beliefs.
I like the book a lot but the read was too easy . She had a nice story that could have had more details more twist I hated the quick ending of the book as I wanted the characters to tell us more about them
This story started similar to my understanding of Amish life however quickly turned to just any boy meets girl dripping Romance. I hope the rest of the series do of follow suit.
I chose this rating because it was well written. It kept your interest. I am from Lebanon county and enjoy reading Amish stories. I am interested in the Amish culture.
A easy reading book which was a good one even if you guessed what would happen
As this is part of a series I am hoping that more is made clear on Olive as while you got the end it sort of was flat as a lot of questions at the end of it
