Neverbound
An island that devours the lost.
A villain who might be her only chance to survive.
Vivienne has no time to mourn her parents. Keeping her little brother alive is all that matters, until the night they are pulled from their world and trapped on an island from which there is no escape. An island stalked by dark shadows.
And then there is him.
The pirate who hunts the lost children. James Hook is as dangerous as he is captivating; he is velvet and iron and ice.
And he might be the only one who can keep her alive.
To save her brother, Vivienne must strike a bargain with the pirate captain. But on this island where shadows come alive, it isn’t just her life that’s at stake.
It’s her heart.

This was such a great read! I love a good Peter Pan/Captain Hook retelling, and this one definitely delivered.
Vivi and Oliver were wonderful characters. While we did see some growth from Vivi, I would have loved to see her open up a bit more with Hook. Oliver was a little dull for me, but honestly, he wasn't the main focus of the story. Hook, on the other hand, had some fantastic character development. I think there was room for even more, but I wasn't disappointed with him at all.
I absolutely loved the twist of Pan being the villain. The Never Nights were terrifying in the best way, and making the shadows something to genuinely fear was such a creative idea. Like his shadows, Pan remained mysterious throughout the story. We didn't see much of him directly, but we certainly saw the destruction he left in his wake.
Now, let's talk about the spice. I definitely could have used more! That said, the lack of spice didn't take away from my enjoyment of the book. I was just hoping for a few more Vivi and Hook moments... you know what I mean. 😉
The ending... wow. I was completely hooked (pun absolutely intended). I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, and the visuals Hart created were a solid 10/10. The intensity of those final scenes had me unable to put the book down.
And thank you, Rosemary Hart, for giving us an actual ending! I've read so many books lately that leave everything open to interpretation, and sometimes I just want a satisfying conclusion. This one was sweet, satisfying, and exactly what I wanted.
Now please... give us book two!!

A Protective antihero MMO
Electric tension & smut
"Should I kiss you or kill you?"
Fairy tale retelling with a dark twist (Peter Pan)
A captain Hook romance
Dark romantasy standalone
A Prison world / creepy island setting
Brooding morally grav hero
A Mourning heroine
Protective heroine
A Family bonds
She can't trust him, but she must
The inner monologue of Vivi will have you rolling! She is hilarious and fierce, and willing to do whatever she can to save her brother Ollie, they end up and Neverland and Ollie gets snatched. Vivi and James Hook make an unlikely alliance to find her brother and a way out of Neverland.
James hook is morally grey and someone who you can’t trust but not as bad as he appears. Just maybe misunderstood. Hook falls first for Vivi and he’s protective 💕 And Peter Pan is not who he seems, darker (reminding me a bit of once upon of time with a dark retelling. I’m here for it!)
Such an unpredictable page turner I am hooked!
The plot and writing flowed nicely the characters, everything perfection I loved it! I’d definitely recommend this read if you like a dark twist retelling!

Thank you to The Author Agency for an ARC of this. This is a dark, fantasy retelling taking place in Neverland. Vivienne and her little brother Ollie end up in Neverland and it’s not what it seems. Peter Pan isn’t as nice as he seems to be and Captain Hook isn’t as bad, just a little misunderstood. Vivenne forms an unlikely team with Hook to save her brother and find a way out of Neverland.

eARC~ ahh this book was soo good. I love a good dark retelling and I ate it up !! I wished it was a series because didn’t want it to end. I do wish there was more depth to vivi and Hooks love story. At times it felt to surface level but i still enjoyed it All the same !!
