this book was way too cool for words. it had a badass female protagonist who was kind of a superhero but not, a cool military theme throughout the novel, and a very intreging story that kept me coming back.
this story is about a girl named Julie who one day finds out that she has teleporting powers. she decides to use those powers for good and goes on to save many people in trouble; under a disguise of course. To the world she is now known as Jade
one mission, she goes to rescue a SEAL Team that was captured by Taliban. she then keeps getting involved with that team she saved and soon they start going on missions together and she eventually joins the military as their special helper in rescue missions. she develops an intense bond with many of them.
this story was quite refreshing to read on account that there weren't any characters that were whiny and annoying. and the romance was more of a sprinkle rather than the whole entrè of the plot.
an added bonus was most of it took place in San Diego and many of the landmarks and cities pointed out in this story, I knew exactly where they were and what it looked like which helped me picture it while reading.
it's hard to place what genre this book would be in. it's not necessarily sci-fi nor is it strictly fantasy. there is a "magic" element to it that does drive the story but..Idk. anyway very well done ms Racciato. I look forward to reading the rest of this story.
