The Skin Bags have hijacked one of only two Speeders that survived the nuclear wars. The massive land-borne battleship—armored, weaponized, nuclear-powered—is capable of speeds exceeding two-hundred knots. With Skin Bags at its helm, the dreadnought has become a true machina tradens mortem.
Born out of a radioactive wreck between the canis lupus and human genomes, Skin Bags are spawns of the Nuclear Dead Zone. The mutants are smart. They have nothing to lose. They want what the humans have, and they want it all. If they can’t have it, they’ll destroy it.
Leon Miller is one of only a handful of mutant hunters on the planet. In a ruined world filled with freaks and monsters, it’s a dirty, dangerous job, but someone has to do it. Get down on your knees and thank God it’s not you.
Stephen R. Cox was born in Oklahoma. He now lives in New Mexico.
He was in the military. He has a BBA from West Texas A&M and an MA from the University of Colorado in Boulder. Both schools employ a buffalo as their mascots.
His favorite writers are Jack London, Ernest Hemingway, Hunter S. Thompson, Cormac McCarthy and Stephen King. He includes McCarthy and King despite the fact they occasionally sip their own bathwater – something he would never do unless he was dying of thirst, then he would sip the hell out of it. Dr. Thompson is on the list more for his outrageousness than for his writing.
