She is the coach's daughter, but no one knows it at the rink as she has been able to keep it a secret. He is a rising star on the team who cannot get sidetracked by anything. So when he meets Cass, the Zamboni driver and mechanic at the rink, he is about to take a big u-turn into distraction.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. We were introduced to Mason in the first book in the series, and this one we get to know him and love his character. Mason has fallen for the coaches daughter which is a big no-no and especially when they are going for the Stanley cup this season and there are not allowed to be any distractions from the game. Cass is studying mechanicals at college and doesn’t need the distraction of a man in her life, but especially one of her fathers hockey players, they have both been told not to have any distractions, especially Mason. But the heart wants what the heart wants and they go through trying to keep the romance secret. I laughed several times and loved her. Cass and Mason became creative, and towards their happily ever after. I’m looking forward to future books in this series.

I really enjoyed Mason’s pursuit of Cass. He is fun and sweet and she is quick witted, sassy and not at all affected by his professional hockey status. What I didn’t enjoy is how Mason’s teammates are supportive one minute than give Mason crap the next, especially Grayson. Grayson is the captain and his love life plays out in the first book in the series. He is not helpful and in my opinion disrespectful and hurtful towards Mason. He should be more understanding and compassionate to the situation. All this leads to a push/pull between Mason Cass that is frustrating, but it does make way for a very beautiful happy ending that I loved.

This is the second book ot the San Antonio Surge series, and I loved it as much as the first one. This is the story of Mason and Cass and their forbidden love!

MAson is a fun loving hockey players who sets his eyes on the sassy strong independent Cass, they are so attracted to each other, explosive passionate magnetism; however she is the coach's daughter that means she is off limits. But, though they are warned to stay apart, the heart wants what it wants and here the heart of the book.

A great fast paced read with two very well developed characters that will have you smiling, swooning and cheering for them!.

*Penalty Box* is the second book in the San Antonio Surge hockey series, focusing on Mason, whom we met in the first installment. Mason falls for Cass, the coach's daughter, a significant complication, especially as the team vies for the Stanley Cup. Both Mason and Cass, a mechanical engineering student, are urged to avoid distractions. Despite the challenges, their hearts lead them to a secret romance. I found myself laughing throughout their creative journey to a happy ending. The story is well-written, with a strong plot, engaging characters, and a satisfying conclusion. The Zamboni Driver 5 stars - In book 1, Mason has been fascinated with the Zamboni driver. He thinks the driver is a woman but everyone in the team says it’s a male. Well in book 2, Mason would have been better off not knowing because Cass, Zamboni driver and mechanic, is the coach’s daughter which makes her off limits! But it is what it is and they can’t keep apart even though they really tried. Mason got his act together and Cass decided to stick with her decision. There’s a few steamy scenes in the backrooms of the arena but you can see Mason’s adoration for Cass. Good romance! I received an advanced copy and voluntarily chose to review it.

Here is book two for the San Antonio Surge. Mason Calder is no longer the team rookie this season and he needs to step it up to guarantee his professional hockey career. He figures he has that in the bag until he crosses paths with the zambonie driver - Cass McAvoy. Coach McAvoy's daughter. Yep, sparks fly, feelings are caught and choices are made. Not all choices are the right ones but its matter of correcting the bad choices in time that counts. Enjoy!.

I really liked Cass & Mason's story it was sweet, steamy & emotional at times. Cass had thought she & Mason's has something special growing between them only she found herself being second best again to hockey.
Mason's let her down & i didn't think he deserved a second chance if Cass ever allowed him to hurt again.
Once you start reading you won't want to stop.

Not what I was hoping for

I really enjoyed the first book, so I was looking forward to reading this one, but it fell flat. There was no push and pull, no slow burn, not even enough plot to root for the characters. This book was a high school relationship.

Spice and Hockey

Can you want any more? If you are looking for a quick and predictable read, this is it. You get a surface view of the characters, a plot that could have been deeper, but enough spice to keep you coming back for more.

With a Stanley Cup run in the works, Mason absolutely, positively, should be avoiding all distractions. So then, why can’t he stop thinking about Cass, the coach’s daughter? This book is full of action-tension and romance-tension, and Cass and Mason’s story is one fun read.

Some stories have it all and this one is most definitely there!!! It has a great storyline and my oh my, how good the characters are written out, their personalities and everything around the leading characters, the little but important bits we read about the leading characters of a previous story, and so forth.
Overall this story really deserves all the available stars and more and I am really happy to be able to give it full five fabulous stars.
