I love New York, but at Christmastime? It’s extra chaos in a bright red bow—tourists crowd the sidewalks, loud carolers on every corner, and someone is always spilling their overpriced coffee on me.

I need to get out of here and fast, so when my perpetually joyful assistant, Ari, offers his family’s rental in Zermatt, Switzerland, I pack my bags before he can change his mind. Hot coffee by the fire, snow-capped mountains in the distance, and some peace and quiet. It’s perfect.

His one condition? I’m not allowed to work. Not as perfect.

I agree, positive that I can get around it, but Ari is determined to make me fall in love with Christmas again. Between cookie contests and mistletoe mishaps, my charming assistant is starting to feel like so much more. He seems like the only person who really cares to chip away at my icy exterior and find the woman beneath it.

Maybe it’s the Swiss air and the peppermint hot chocolate, or maybe Ari is the reason my heart finally feels like it’s thawing.

But whatever we have now has to stay in Switzerland with the Christmas magic. Because when we return to work, I go back to being his boss and he becomes a line I can’t cross, no matter how much I want to.

I feel like this book is The Devil Wears Prada vs The Proposal all in one!

Which I’m not one bit mad about!! This books has some fun relationship building quirks along with some super protective siblings who turn into a fierce “girl power” team!!

Which I love a girl’s girl kind of friendship!

So when things hit the fan and a journalist goes rouge and tries to destroy everything another woman has worked so hard for…bring on the girl’s girl to take them down a notch or two!

Fun read and can’t wait to read more by this author.

I just wrapped up my ARC of Sleighing It by Nicole Bell, and this book was pure holiday comfort. Think cozy fires, Swiss Alps charm, boss/assistant tension, Christmas magic, and Hallmark vibes wrapped up in one adorable, quick read.

I finished it in 2.5 hours, and it was exactly the warm, sweet palate cleanser I needed. Ari is the kind of sunshine character you instantly fall in love with, and watching him slowly melt his boss’s icy exterior felt like being wrapped in a blanket with peppermint hot chocolate.

It’s charming, festive, romantic, and full of winter wonder. A definite 5-star read, and I’ll be picking up a physical copy the moment it hits shelves on November 21, 2025.

If you love quick Christmas romances that feel like a movie, this one belongs on your holiday TBR!

Ella is a high-powered executive in New York city. Divorced from her husband, she focuses on work instead of love or relationships. The industry knows her as the ice queen. Ari is the exact opposite of Ella. His smile lights up a room and his sunny disposition can make the hardest of hearts soften. Well, for everyone except Ella. No matter how good an assistant Ari is, he still can’t seem to crack her outer shell.
The Christmas season is extra chaotic at their magazine firm and Ella just needs to get away. Not able to find a last-minute destination for Ella, Ari offers to let her come home to Switzerland with him for the Christmas holidays. Although she is not happy about the idea of spending her holiday with Ari and his family, she will be staying in the guest house and away from them the entire time. So, what could possibly go wrong?
This is a heart-warming cozy Christmas story that will have you melting. Grab yourself a cup of hot cocoa and curl up in a chair because you are about to fall in love. This is also close door romance, so the story doesn’t have a spice rating for me. BUT, I will say the tension building between the characters is “off-the-charts”.

I was so annoyed when I started this! I couldn't stand how rude Ella was to people. Then, I felt bad for her. She had to lock herself away because of her awful family and her awful husband. She was successful and a powerful woman. And what men and even other women hate is a powerful successful woman! Alanna wasnt any better in the jerk compartment but they both grew on me. Ari was adorable and the true star of the story. He saw all of Ella and didnt fear it. Super cute story.

I absolutely loved this book, and the plot was something of refreshing and different. It flips the dynamic and this time a woman is calling the big shots. I appreciate that she is strong and has worked her way up, but she also realized that showing affective and love is okay.

Grab a warm cup of cocoa, your fuzziest blanket, and dive into this adorable romance read. You’re going to love it!

This was a sweet romance workaholic boss falls for younger employee and it changed her

Would have been nice to see affect in her office staff rather than skipping a year ahead

Nice read although predictable
