Xeric award-winning writer Neil Kleid (The Panic, Brownsville, Nice Jewish Boys) and artist Alex Cormack go Medieval in this bombastic new series about baseball, the Bronx, and sixth-century Britain!
All right, points to Neil Kleid for not ending ‘Medieval’ Issue 5 with a conventional ‘happy ending’, even though things do wrap up on a feel good note, but thankfully not in the cliched ‘guy defeats everybody and gets everything he wanted’ kind of way.
Does Gina pick the King or her baseball-fanatic boyfriend? Does Danny find his way back to the Bronx? These are some of the questions the finale answers swiftly, of course, with plenty of blood, violence, and cussing.
The artwork continues to be colorful, expressive, and fun. If you’re looking for a quick, violent, occasionally silly tale about a foul-mouthed plumber from the Bronx navigating life in medieval Britain and locking horns with King Arthur himself, give this mini-series a shot.
What's that you say? A modern day baseball oriented version of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court with plenty of action and profanity and heart??? I gotta read this! **after reading** I want more!!!
