The men from the best-selling novel "Cowboy Sandwich" are back for a second helping of threesome loving and humor. When their mobile ranch game is nominated for several awards by a gaming magazine in London, Barry Logan, Jimmy Wilson, and Jake Pierce fly across the Atlantic to visit Barry's family as well as attend the games convention and awards ceremony.
Driving on the wrong side of the road, paying a small fortune for gas, eating strange foods, and dealing with an unfamiliar temperature scale are just the start of Jimmy's and Jake's adventures. Tensions run high after the awards ceremony. Jimmy and Jake see how well-connected Barry is within the games industry and know they can't offer him the sort of career and life a talented games developer deserves.
After their week-long visit to the UK, will they be flying back to the States as a threesome, strengthened by their trials, or will the relationship fracture under the strain of incompatibility?
Having read all the decent free fiction on the net Drew could find, he set out to try his hand at writing something himself. Fed up reading about characters who were super-wealthy, impossibly handsome, and incredibly well-endowed, Drew determined to make his characters real and believable.
Drew lives a quiet life in the north of England with his cat. Someday he hopes to meet the kind of man he writes about.
It was nice to go back and visit Barry, Jake and Jimmy, but it didn't give me the chuckles, banter and enjoyment that the first one did.
Don't get me wrong, this is still an entertaining read, with plenty going on with the trip to the UK, the differences in culture were highlighted with humour. Maybe a tad too descriptive with the computer game and the food......but the niggle was actually Jake and Jimmy. Their constant snipes and oneupmanship against each other and Barry having to keep reprimanding them like toddlers got very irritating, very quickly!!! I missed the *warmth* from the first book.
As with the first book, this one was quirky and fun. This time, we get to see Barry and the boys off the ranch and in the UK. We also see more of their one-on-one relationships, which is nice.
I still want a to read Rory and Zane's story. We didn't get any hints about how it has been progressing over the 16 months since the first book started. Inquiring minds want to know! ;)
There's no conflict in this book. It's basically a continuation of the three guys living their happily ever after. Which surprisingly I was fine with because I wasn't in the mood to read drama. Also, I loved these guys from the first book. But anyone who happens to dive into this one without reading book #1 first is going to wonder where the story is.
It was pretty much like the first book. A little less sex, which was good. It was just adventures in England, meeting Barry's family and some new people, too. There was a brief appearance from Calvin and Brock, from "Calvin's Cowboy". So it was cute and sweet with just a little less bickering from the cowboys. No drama at all. Still a fun read.
I received this book as a giveaway. Not my normal reading but it is a good read. very interesting and the idea of road trip fascinates me. I am glad it wasn't heavy.
