Obsessed, Shook, and Not Okay

OMG Besties… this one? This one hurt in the best, most chaotic way. "Rebirth By Fire" had me hooked from that jaw-dropping prologue and never let go. I went from soft smiles during Levi and Maddison’s meet-cute to full-on emotional damage as their story unraveled. Getting Levi’s POV made everything hit deeper... his hope, his love, and the absolute nightmare that followed? Yeah… I was not okay.🥺

The dual timelines were chef’s kiss... seamless, suspenseful, and perfectly paced to keep me flipping pages like my life depended on it. And Mia? Oh, I love a woman fueled by rage and revenge. Her presence added this sharp, simmering tension that kept building until that INSANE plot twist. I’m talking blink-and-stare-at-the-wall kind of shock.😳

This story dives into manipulation, toxic dynamics, and the consequences of cruelty in a way that feels disturbingly real. It’s dark, emotional, and yes... it will mess with your anxiety a bit... but the payoff is so worth it.

That ending though?!?!? I STILL need a moment.

Add this to your TBR. Seriously.💯

LOVED THIS BOOK!

I couldn't put it down from the very beginning. Honestly, it takes a lot for a book to grab my attention and keep it all the way to the end. I loved the back and fourth between past and present, it's kept the suspense and me wanting to know what happens next. Which is why I couldn't put it down and read it in a day and a half!
Authors often tend to throw twists in just for the sake of doing it these days but this books twists were ones I did not expect at all. My mouth was on the floor multiple times, I didn't see that coming, and I found myself yelling "yes!" with a fist pump in the air when characters got what was coming to them.

What a well rounded and fun read. I felt this book had the perfect amount of detail to make you feel connected to the characters and you felt their pain throughout, or you hated their guts. Not too much detail that the book is bogged down and I lose interest.

I am also a sucker for endings that are more realistic and not always a "happily ever after".

Great job Lira! I can't wait for your next book!

I received an advanced copy from the author and this review is 100% voluntary and my own words.

Rebirth by Fire is honestly one of those books that grabs you by the throat from page one and refuses to loosen its grip. The prologue alone? Intense, fiery, and dripping with revenge. I loved how unapologetically dark it is. Mia isn’t your typical soft-hearted heroine—she’s sharp, calculated, and fueled by years of buried rage.

What really hooked me though was the past and present switch between Mia and Levi. Levi’s chapters add so much emotional weight. Watching him navigate a new school, grief, loneliness, and toxic friendships was painful but so well written. You can feel his vulnerability, especially in scenes with Maddison. It makes the tragedy hit harder because you see the innocence before everything falls apart.

The glam, elite high-society vibe mixed with secrets, manipulation, and psychological tension? So addictive. Every character feels layered, even the villains. It’s dramatic, messy, and full of slow-building chaos—and I’m absolutely here for it.

I received this copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this book.
I’m a big fan of revenge tropes, so the summary immediately caught my attention. As they say, revenge is a dish best served cold — but in this case, the ending felt a little too cold for me. It didn’t leave the impact I was hoping for.
That said, the writing is strong and keeps you engaged throughout. With multiple POVs and a dual past-and-present timeline, the story moves quickly and makes for a fast, page-turning read.
The characters are interesting as well — you’ll definitely find yourself rooting for some and hating others. However, a few of their decisions felt a bit far-fetched and unrealistic at times.
But overall, it was a fun and engaging read.

I finished this in a day!!!

I was hooked from the first chapter. You go back and forth between the present day and the past.

Mia arrives in Thornhaven for revenge…. But why?

Levi is new to the town and finally makes friends with the popular kids at the school.

Mia is a confident and calculating woman who will stop at nothing to seek revenge on a specific group of friends.

The twists and turns in this book keep you hooked as well as the need to see if Mia can complete her revenge.

Good revenge story

The overall story was good. I was trying to figure out who Mia was to the story up until it was revealed. This is a good revenge story and I really felt for Levi and Maddison. They deserved none of what they received.
The story jumps from the present and the past and it helps you understand the overall story well.

I received Rebirth By Fire as an ARC, and wow, this one genuinely surprised me.
For such a short read, it absolutely delivers on plot twists. Every time I thought I had things figured out, the story pulled the rug out from under me with another 'wait what?!' moment. I ended up bingeing it in one sitting because I just couldn’t put it down and needed to know what was happening.
