About the author

Eiichiro Oda (尾田栄一郎, Oda Eiichirō) is a Japanese manga artist, best known as the creator of the manga and anime One Piece.

As a child, Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's works and aspired to become a manga artist. He recalls that his interest in pirates was probably sparked by the popular TV animation series titled Vicky the Viking. He submitted a character named Pandaman for Yudetamago's classic wrestling manga Kinnikuman. Pandaman was not only used in a chapter of the manga but would later return as a recurring cameo character in Oda's own works.

MY THOUGHTS :: 💭
⤷ I am brimming with ideas after finishing these last 6 volumes, I’ve had to go watch videos to see other people’s thoughts and I cannot wait to successfully catch up and be able to watch all my saved videos on lore I might’ve missed, fandom theories and all that jazz! This omnibus was definitely less focused on the Strawhats and rather we finally got some background on Bartholomew Kuma and how he became the way he is, still have a few questions that I’m sure will be answered further down the line, but so far as of September 2026, omnibus 36 is the last omnibus, now I’ll have to log each volume individually so perhaps that will give me the opportunity to write more reviews and stay consistent!

Kuma!!!!! What a backstory, it makes this arc that much better! Love the call back to older characters, always nice to see familiar faces.
