He took her from me, from us. He scrubbed her memories, wrapped her in a lie, and called it a marriage.
Rome thinks a blood-debt signed generations ago makes her his property. He thinks his wings make him holy. But I’m a demon—I know a monster when I see one.
They say we don’t have mates, but I felt it the moment I saw Aerilyn. She belongs with me, with us. I’ll tear the wings from Rome’s back and drag him into the deepest pits of the abyss before I let him hurt her ever again.
AerilynMy life is perfect.
I have a devoted husband, a charming house, and a bakery that smells like cinnamon and sunshine. It’s the life I always dreamed of—so why does the reflection in the mirror feel like a stranger?
The panic hits me in waves, a desperate urge to run that I can’t explain. I have everything I ever wanted, yet I feel like a ghost in my own home.
Then I see him.
He has the most haunting green eyes I’ve ever seen, and when he looks at me, the "perfect" walls of my world start to crack. He doesn't look at me like a stranger. He looks at me like a man who has come to burn my world to the ground.
And the terrifying part? I think I want him to.
Hunted by Fear is book two in the Roommates from Hell Series. This series features multiple love interests and does end on a cliffhanger. Please check the Trigger Warnings.
Love Whychoose? Cool me too!!! After years of reading, I've decided to put this writing thing to the test. I've got tons of ideas that I can't wait to share! Want to know what I'm working on? Get exclusive first looks at covers and blurbs? Or just talk and find other reading friends? Cool, me too! So feel free to stalk me. Stalk all my links!
Please hold while I drag my mangled body from the bottom of that freaking cliff...........Ok, I'm ready.
This was amazing! And infuriating! I love these characters so freaking much (even though I am really freaking mad at one of them. No, I won't say who. You'll have to read it yourself!) I love Sara's work so much, cliff hangers and all, and can't wait for the next book!
Hunted by Fear delivers a passionate, dangerous, and emotionally charged ride. It isn’t light or easy - but for readers who crave fantasy romance with edges sharpened by magic, power, and demons, it offers a compelling mix. Bast and Aeri’s story walks the line between love, desire, and dark compulsion… which makes it thrilling, but also morally complex. Overall?
I am loving this series! I love all the characters, especially the addition of Lucifer, which was unexpected. The only one I have a problem with or could do without is Asta. I don't really understand the whole being in love with someone but being a total ahole to them. This story has a few little twists that make it exciting, especially the ending. Can't wait for book 3.
It's been a while. Don't fret. This book will pull you right back into the world of demons and angels created by Ms. Hinds. I am happy to get the second book in this series. I did not realize the first book ended on a cliffhanger and was very upset about it. It was a good story and I wanted it to continue. Ms. Hinds did a good job of continuing this series. Fortunately/unfortunately this is not the end either and this book ends on an even bigger cliffhanger.
This book starts off in a place Aerilyn never wanted to be. She is back with Rome and seemingly loving life. Now, readers know something ain't right. We know how she felt about him. She uprooted her life and went into hiding to get away from him. What is going on? Well, Rome is a very powerful angel/seraphim. He found a way to brainwash Aeri after a betrayal. She has forgotten all about her guys. Her life and happiness revolves around Rome. They have created a home and own a little coffee shop. Meanwhile Asta, Bast, Ruin, Talian and Kai are searching for her. They know that she would never be with Rome willingly.
They finally find her and realize what he is doing to her. They take her to the only place Rome cannot go. Bast asked Lucifer to take Aeri to the underworld. His domain. Bast, Asta, Talian and Kai are all demons/fallen angels like Lucifer. Lucifer is the only one who can escort a mortal to the underworld. He does and Aeri is basically living in the palace with all of them. Though Rome can't get to her, he can still get into her mind. It takes her a while to come out of his control and remember the guys. Bonds are forming all over the place. Aeri is definitely changing everyone she comes in contact with. Where will this lead? Can Aeri take her place as the Queen of the underworld? Real life rears it's head. The demons finally realize that Aeri might not want to stay with them there. Of course, that is not all Aeri is not as safe as we thought in the underworld. What will happen next is anybody's guess. Ms. Hinds gives readers a ride that won't quit. I am here for the journey. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
I was on the edge of my seat for this one! I think at some points there was just high pitched screeching noises coming from me and that cliffhanger? It wasn’t the worst that Sara has put us through but I am frothing for the next book, but there’s nothing new with that.
We start off right after the previous book, but we have Aeri in a different frame of mind than she was in the previous book. She’s under Rome’s mind control here and has no idea what he’s put her through in the past. All her memories are planted to make her docile and in love. What a twist! The guys are all moving heaven and earth to find her, they’re going to every one of their sources and hunting for her. When we find her, we set on a path that will take us to Hell and stay awhile there.
Ok. Aeri is struggling in this book, she’s got sporadic memories of her time with Rome and she has moments of lucidity. The guys are trying to break Rome’s hold on her, but it’s difficult. We have a few twists here, Lucifer lends a hand to try to help her and he ended up as my favourite character in this book. Talian, Bast and Ruin are my sweet babies and I love them. Asta and Kai are… themselves. IYKYK. There’s a couple of moments where I could have thrown the book (if I didn’t read exclusively on my phone I might have actually thrown it). The last chapter left me gasping too. You need to read it to know what I mean. So good. Sara is one of my immediate buy authors. If she writes it, I’m gonna read it, but this book is perfection as per usual.
I received an advanced copy of this book in return for my honest review and I honestly loved it.
What a second book that was for the Roommates From Hell series! Sara never ceases to surprise me in her books, just like this one!! Hunted By Fear picks straight back up from how we left the first book - a shocking ending where Aeri gets captured by Rome, a not so very nice angel...
Definitely a weird start to the book, with Aeri being happy and in love with Rome... Thankfully our demon men; Talian, Bast, Kai, Asta and guardian angel Ruin all spend months looking for her and eventually find her but the only way that they can think of to keep her safe is to ask Lucifer if he would keep her safe in his castle in hell!
This was a difficult book in terms of trying to get Aeri to see the truth and I can imagine that it is very difficult to accept, not only the fact that the life she thought to be true was indeed fake and not by her will but also the fact that she is surrounded by demons and the king of hell.
I love a good story that incorporates mates into it and Sara did just that, but only giving Aeri the most shocking mate of all time, I never saw that coming and was simply so surprised the whole book once it happened. But then plot twist, Aeri has more than one mate which gave up our first spicy scene of the book other than just tension and it was more than perfect!!
I cannot wait for the next book in the series, especially with our shocking ending again! Sara likes to do this to us and keep us on edge until we finally get the next book, but it will be worth the wait!
I really felt for Aeri as she tried to survive and break through Rome's control. Rome is awful but he's not a one dimensional villain which I liked and it's interesting that he seems to be linked to the guys' past. I don't think I have it in me to forgive him, but I think there is more to his situation than meets the eye.
Lucifer has ousted Asta as my favourite; I love how unsure and nervous he is around Aeri! Talian is a close second though and his reconnection with Aeri as himself rather than Oliver was really sweet. The bonds don't seem to be straightforward though and how a certain person has been leapfrogged by another character who seemed to be MIA off page for quite a bit confused me. I couldn't quite glean how the bonds work the but I did like how it throws up the idea of consent being involved. I love fated mates but I also like the occasional "I want you to choose me for me, not because a divine entity decided it".
That ending came out of nowhere and I am here for it! I'm so invested in the backstory about the fall and something tells me that ending is going to be connected to it.
My interpretation of the star system; 3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again 4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series 5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read
If you want to feel all the freaking emotions in one book that was impossible to put down, it's this one.
This of course picks up where book one left off. Rome kidnapped Aeri and really did a number on her. Even with his manipulation she knows something isn't right.
The demons have been searching for Aeri for so long when they finally get lucky. The problem though is she doesn't know who they are and she is determined to follow the brain manipulation wanting her to return to Rome. There's only one place he can't get to her.
Y'all we get a while lot more demon in this book. We find ourselves as houseguests to Lucifer himself. Now its a race to figure out how to break the contract between Aeri and Rome.
We get to see relationships blossom and change in beautiful ways. We see much more from the demon sides and its awesome getting to know the other side of these guys. Well except for one person who I'm so dang angry at right now.
Lastly we get slapped with that super crazy and cryptic last chapter. Ummm excuse me ma'am what in the what are you doing now? I absolutely need to see what's next.
This was just…….wow, it hurt my heart so much. The things Rome has done to Aeri are so bad, I could have cried for her and her demons, and they are trying everything to help free her, but there is only one place where she is safe and that brings additional complications, especially for Ruin. Also, is it bad that I’m hoping for him to fall from grace? Asking for a friend! I need them to be together so badly that it hurts. And then there’s Rome, his behaviour seems very strange, Aeri is not allowed to forgive him, just no! This was such a great book, I feel like I need to read again to see if there are anymore clues, because the ending shook me and I need the next book in the series like Ruin needs to get laid! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌶️🌶️
Hunted by Fear is book 2 in the Roommates from Hell series. This is a dark paranormal why choose romance.
I have the absolute honor of beta reading for Sara, and reading this book......I am OBSESSED!!!
We are back with Aeri and the guys and I just wanted to reach thru my kindle and hug them all! Well, all but one of them and you will understand who when you read this book. And we get a yummy new demon morsel and I cant get enough of him!!!!
This book will keep you on the edge of your seat, will have you feeling every single emotion and will have you screaming at that ending and begging for more!!!
I absolutely LOVE this series and I can not wait to see what kind of emotional damage Sara does to me with the next book 😂😂
Tedious and slow..with the same cliffhanger ending
This was a very slow no development type of read. Nothing happened except at the end as a major repeated Cliffhanger of the FMC being kidnapped or taken again! What a wasted filler book two. The heroine was weak and pathetic. The mates who bonded with the heroine rejected her. The entire book only focused was to drag the free the pathetic heroine from the ex and then have the bonded mates reject her. Then end with the same ending as book one and then the reader is expected to wait for the next book in a year I'm n my opinion. No sexy time on this one except some petting and kissing. Disappointed that this was a FILLER book with zero development. Skip this one for sure.
okay sooo Hunted by Fear ?? absolutely ruined me (in the best possible way).
bast as a possessive mmc? i’m faking myself right now.
the start of this book? jump scare, i was not expecting it…aeri’s living this picture-perfect lie that had me screaming, and when luci, talian, ruin (my angel baby 😭), (…i guess also asta, and kai) show up?? it’s over. i’m gone. i loved everything about this book!!! except asta im unimpressed ever now
and rome?? the obsessive stalker ex who thinks he still owns her?? i hate him but also i can’t look away.
it’s dark, emotional, a little unhinged, and that cliffhanger?? i actually sat there like 😭😭😭
Sara…you done good, i’m NOT patiently waiting for the next
This is the second book in the Roommates from Hell series. I am not sure how many books there will be but I plan on reading all of them. This is truly a series you will enjoy! Our FMC, Aeri, was having a wonderful day. She was married to the love of her life. She has a beautiful home. And is a proud owner of a small cafe. She’s going about her business and then he comes in. Now nothing is what it seems and she is surrounded by hot and smexy men. Thank you, Sara Hinds, for such another great read in this series. You are one of my favorite authors. But I do have an issue with you about this book…the Grand Canyon sized cliffie you left me dangling on!!! Please put me out of my misery soon!!!
This book was such a strong follow-up to Running from Nightmares. It picks up immediately where book one ended, which I really appreciated — there’s no filler or recap, just a seamless continuation of Aeri’s story as she works to free her soul from the contract with Rome. I also really enjoyed getting to know the MMCs on a deeper level in this one — seeing their vulnerabilities, their jealousy, and how each of them is trying to figure out their place in Aeri’s life. Their relationships shift and grow as the stakes get higher. I finished this in just a few days because I couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen next. The cliffhanger at the end definitely got me, now I’m just impatient for the next book to come out!
Hunted by Fear is book two in the Roommates from Hell series. It blends paranormal danger with emotional unease in a way that keeps the tension tight from the start. The story thrives on that creeping sense that something isn’t right, perfect lives rarely are, and Aeri’s growing panic is just as gripping as the supernatural stakes.
The possessive devotion, ancient deals, and blurred lines between love and control make this a dark, addictive read. If you enjoy paranormal romance with obsessive bonds, hidden truths, and an undercurrent of fear that never quite lets up, this one delivers.
I cannot wait to read my next Sara Hinds book!
As always be mindful of the trigger warnings, what I like you may not.
I absolutely flew through this book. I picked it up and just did not put it down till I was finished. It was that good. I will say the blurb had me worried I may not love where this book was going but nope, it was brilliant. A topsy turvy, so did not see any of that coming, brilliant. Several of our MMCs shine in this book *swoons hard over Bast and Talian* and others might have you throwing your Kindle but Aerie's ability to survive and love with all her heart shines brightest among them all. Honestly the complexity of ALL these characters and their emotional development is what truly makes this a 5 star worthy binge in one night read.
I was one of the lucky ones to read this book first as an ARC-reader 🥰 but here is my honest review:
Ohh how I love Sara’s books, my guilty binge-read pleasures! A little bit of spice 🌶️ thrilling adventures & all of your favourite MMC characters (from the dark & grumpy, to the smart & caring one (and you don’t even have to choose!))
This book, like the first one, felt like a bingeworthy series that you just can’t stop watching! But beware, as always (& to my frustration 😂) Sara loves to end her books with a big old cliffhanger… Soooo I’ll start counting the days till I can read the next book in the series 🥲
Book 2 is nothing short of a roller coaster ride. I knew that this book was going to be difficult to read, but wow it was so much more complex than I ever imagined.
After book 1’s ending, we officially meet the “villain” in Aeri’s story, and WOW. He’s just ev*l AF.
The guys in Aeri’s life, the dem0ns, the GOOD ones, are doing everything possible to get her back to normal. Can it be done? Who knows.
Also, there’s other things that are coming into play, also a bit of traveling too.
I can’t wait for book 3, and for what Sara is going to put together for us with this group. Especially after that cliffhanger.
Phewww!!! I’m so glad we finally got book two, and now I need book 3!!! There are mating bonds you’d never expect, feelings you’d never expect, and so much plot!!! I love Sara’s books because while yes they do have spice, she also pulls us into these characters and their stories and makes us root for the underdog! We continue following the story of Aeri, wondering and hoping that her demon roommates find her after she was taken at the end of book 1. We get to see the differences between heaven and hell too. You don’t want to miss out on this series!! There’s so much more to come and I can’t wait!
I seriously couldn’t put this book down! To the point that I finished it just a few hours after picking it up…
Aeri has been through so much and she’s STILL GOING THROUGH IT. The story picks up right where the cliffhanger with book 1 left off, though everything seemed like it would get better quickly it definitely was a journey.
Book 2 sees a lot of interesting world building (HELL?!?), traumatic memories, unexpected hate bonds, expected mate bonds, rejected mates, and loads of yearning. The ending has me seriously questioning how there could possibly be a HEA… but I’ll trust the process… for now…
This was a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ read being the second book in the Roommates from Hell series! Everything's twisted up and Aeri is still missing. Months go by and they can't find any sign of her but what do you do when you find her and realize her the villian is controlling her thoughts with a pretty little painted picture of a life... the only reasonable thing take her to hell! In hell Asta, Bast, Kai, and Lucifer are keeping her hidden. They brainstorm on how to help Aeri the best but how do you break a contract when they have to be more than the devil or god? Oh they also bring Ruin to hell and it's absolutely hilarious how Lucifer gets him there! My favorite parts are with Lucifer and he is a top contender in my favorites but it's changed frequently throughout the story! We learn demons can have mates/fated mates. Demons, angels, humans, powers, spice and more! There's some devastating moments and a cliff hanger that will leave your jaw on the floor!
Ohhhh man this book! I have so many thoughts and theories I won’t write here because they’re so spoilery but this book took me do a ride! I went on a roller coaster of emotions and that cliffhanger just about threw me over the edge. Poor Aeri has had it rough this book even though there was some happiness. Some of the men need to remove their heads from their rears but she at least had a couple stay by her side.
Also wtf Rome. I’m gonna need a lot of answers in the next book about that and pretty much everything. I’m afraid to wait another year for those answers 😭
Aeri and the crew are back facing new challenges. This one kept me page turning - sleep could wait.
Is a roller coaster. There’s definitely moments of fear, more of joy, some surprise and then raw heartache - yeah that part hurt. Oh, and still a hate for Rome.
So what else will you find in here: mind controlled FMC, forced proximity, angels v demons, denial of feelings, humour, and horns tails and wings.
Be warned, there is a cliffhanger. All that means is I really want to pick up book 3 to see what happens next.
Seriously though, this book...... I am so in love with it and everything it made me feel! By the end I shaking my head at the MMC's and also laughing that Sara wrote such perfect character, even if I did want to shake some sense into them. The MMC's ALL had development, even if sometimes it was a back slide, we got a NEW MMC that was just perfect (ngl, he may be my new favorite once he finds the plot lol)! I'm a bit curious to see where the story goes with our bad guy, cause that did NOT go the way I thought. And Asta...... *deep sigh* bro........
I absolutely loved this book! The story was addictive and kept me on the edge of my seat, desperate to find out what happened next and it had a brutal cliffhanger which as usual has me looking forward to the release of the next book in the series. I really fell in love with the characters and I enjoyed the dynamics between them and watching the relationships build. I really can’t wait to see what happens next in this series and I would recommend giving it a read.
I am reeling from that cliffhanger! This story frustrates me in the best way. I need them to sort out their stuff and be better for Aeri. But, they are demons and male. It will never happen. I have so many questions. What is up with Rome? And Asta? Kai still has his head up his backside. I love the new demon in the group. I think I need pictures to see what they look like. This book is a slow burn, emotional roller coaster. I loved it! I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
Wow. I am stunned. That was such a good book. Poor Aeri is going through it, but man is she strong. She’s so strong and resilient. This book made me fall in love with this universe all over again. Even though I want to reach through my kindle and deck or choke a couple characters…. I still love it. This ending was just as brutal as the last. Ill be thinking about this book for a while to come.
This is Book Two, in her Roommates from Hell series…I was curious if her second book would live up to the first, and Sara didn’t disappoint!!!
There’s a few steamy scenes, not as steamy as book one, but still enough to break out the fan LOL Sara’s character development is always so on point, and you can easily relate to everyone…even the not so liked “bad guys”. This book does end on a crazy cliffhanger, that has me crawling the walls and wanting Book Three ASAP!!!
Sara Hinds has done it to me again, why must she always break me at the end of a book, what does she have against her character's happiness. At the end of Roommates From Hell Book 1, Running From Nightmares, I screamed with such a ruthless ending. That was nothing compared to how Hunted By Fear left me feeling. The writing in this book was amazing, fresh and so engrossing, with the characters emotions there on the page, sucking you into the pits of Hell. Read Book 1, then read book 2 and join me applauding this author for yet another brilliantly crafted story.
