For the first time since it all began, Areya, Ash, and their closest friends are free. No looming war. No twisted prophecy. Just peace.
To celebrate, they escape to a secluded island off Titan's coast—a hidden paradise where no one expects them to save anything. Just sun-warmed skin, ocean air, and long days filled with laughter, teasing, dares, and stolen kisses.
Found family, finally at rest. Together.
But something is off. A whisper on the breeze. Footsteps where there should be none. Flickers of movement just out of sight.
Something is watching them.
And what began as a well-earned vacation may become a mystery that unravels everything they thought they knew about what's to come.
Because this island didn't call them here to rest.
Ok that was the sweetest and most emotional novella ever! For a moment I got scared when those hooded figures appeared…but I’m so glad I was wrong. I devoured this one! I almost lost it during the encounter! May have quietly screamed with excitement! I absolutely loved the ending and can’t wait to get started on the Fated Legacies! Thank you Cosette for letting me ARC read this whole series!
She promises you peace... but you should know better than that by now when you are reading COSETTE VERGA'S books. It's wholesome and hilarious, filled with tender, love-filled moments and humor that will sneak up on you and rip the laughter out of you. It's a break, yes... but there is an unknown threat... or is it. You will enjoy page after page... Everyone's here, and it's the chaos we are used to and the dramatics we live for now. Cosette also teases about her new upcoming series "FATED LEGACIES" and boy oh boy i can not... can not wait to read more of her fantastic work... She gave me an experience in the Fated Series journey... now im invested to the very end.
sign me up... GARDONIA IS HOME, THE GANG IS FAMILY.
This was a cute wrap up finale for the series while also weaving the threads to sneak peak how the legacy series will unfold after this. Every time Vernon is involved it makes me smile and the games brought me back to the first games which were a riot. its definitely more light hearted which is well earned and deserved. we all got to take a breath and just enjoy. thank you to the author for the arc read. I am leaving my complete and honest review.
Adored this novella! It gave us a nice glimpse into life after the war and tragedy that happened previously. We got to see all the characters again and meet some new ones. I was kicking my feet and giggling through most of it, especially where Vern was involved lol
I absolutely cannot wait to see the future of Fated Legacies!
I did receive this as an ARC and am leaving this review voluntarily
UNBOUND by Cosette Verga Fated Series Novella (Reading Order: Book 6) | Post-Series Epilogue
✨ A tender, funny, sun-soaked reunion that lets the Fated family breathe, rest, tease, love and discover that peace in Gardonia never comes without a twist.
For the first time since their journey began, Areya, Ash, and their found family are free. No prophecies. No gods. No war waiting around the corner. Just a secluded island, warm beaches, salt air, and the luxury of existing without a sword in hand.
This novella gives the entire cast a chance to simply be: laughing, recovering, reconnecting, daring each other into chaos, and savoring the life they nearly lost. It’s soft, funny, affectionate and full of the warmth longtime readers have been waiting for.
But peace doesn’t stay quiet for long. Something is watching. Something called them here. And the island’s serenity hides a whisper of what’s coming next in the Fated Legacies arc.
What I Loved: 🏝️ A “vacation episode” in the best possible way 😂 Banter, teasing, chaos, and found-family moments that feel earned 💞 Tender scenes between couples who survived so much together 🌅 A genuine sense of healing and connection 👀 A subtle mystery threaded through the calm 🌀 A perfect bridge between the completed series and what’s next 📣 Early hints at Fated Legacies that raised all my curiosity
Tropes & Elements: 🏝️ Found Family Vacation 💘 Soft Intimacy 😂 Group Chaos 🌊 Light Mystery 🔮 Tease for the Next Saga 🛡️ “After the War” Healing 👥 Ensemble Cast
Vibe: warm, funny, restful with a hint of tension Spice: light; focused on affection and emotional closeness For fans of: epilogue-style novellas, found family, post-battle rest, and series continuations that honor every relationship
💜 Unbound feels like a love letter to longtime readers...a chance to breathe with these characters before stepping into a new era. Gardonia is home, the gang is still chaos, and the future looks exciting.
⚠️SPOILER AHEAD, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!⚠️ Don’t worry, I’ll put some space in: . . . . . . . I really hope that’s enough 🥴
I’m not 100% certain which book the vacation starts being mentioned in, pretty sure it started in Fated though 🤣 but that’s the basis for this book. And y’all? Talk about a breath of fresh air after a series that made me run the emotional gauntlet to end all others. Of course, there’s some minor chaos that I won’t discuss in depth here, but it’s nowhere close to the level of chaos in the first five books and ends so sweetly it was worth the minor panic attack it caused 💜 we get to see our favorite characters finally get the peace they’ve been searching for and it is a sight to behold, and I cannot recommend it enough!! Plenty of banter, shenanigans, and spice 🥵, all wrapped up in a short novella that I finished in less than a day!

Unbound: A Fated Novella is a concise yet engaging read that blends dark fantasy, romance, and suspense in a way that feels both satisfying and immersive. Cosette Verga delivers well-developed characters despite the novella’s shorter length, and their emotions and struggles feel real and relatable. The story’s pacing is tight, making it a quick but compelling journey, and the world-building is rich enough to leave you wanting more.
The only minor drawback is that some plot threads could have been expanded further, but this is understandable given the novella format.
Overall, Unbound is a captivating addition to Verga’s universe and a perfect taste of her storytelling for fans of dark fantasy romance.
Cosette NEVER EVER FAILS at bringing all the feels and emotions in her books! This book was incredible after all the heartbreak and trauma we went through in all the other books this book was so nice and needed just to see everyone happy go lucky and truly enjoying the life they thought they might not ever get! 🥹🥹 We also get a big mystery twist in the book that helps lead into the spin off series! It was just so beautiful to get to see Cody and Silver's wedding and everyone come together for a reunion! It was such a well written beautiful book with ofc a little spicy scenes between our fave characters thrown in there! 😍😍😍😭🥹 5 STARS!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This story did not need to be written. The main purposes it serves are being a teaser for the author’s next series in this world and giving those who love these characters another few moments with them. I would have been content for the story to have ended with the previous book. If you’re a huge fan of the series, you’ll probably enjoy this novella.
I’m going back to my TBR list and will not be continuing with fated legacies.
Cosette you never disappoint. Unbound is a Novella it's fantastic how you have flowed seamlessly from on series to the next without letting it slip. One things you reading about Areya and Sebastian, Reize, Calyx,, keo, Vernon, Cody, Tessa, sliver, Grayson madam Pearl all going on holiday. Guess again there is action, fun, laughter, tears and a huge surprise awaiting you. Don't delay start this fabulous new series that going to make you want to read more.
What an emotional Novella! I devoured this Reed! Such a cute wrap up for this series. I rate the whole series as five stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This is more lighthearted than the other books. I love how we get to see all the characters again and meet some new ones too! Love the twist that leads us too… Fated legacies! I can’t wait for faded legacies. I’m so excited! Anxiously pacing the floor awaiting for the spinoff series.
I love this lighthearted, crazy and cosy novella. To see our characters free and happy after the storms is beautiful. It's so amazing to have a story not ended directly after all the war and near death but to witness them whole and happy. Of course its wonderful chaos, laughter, love and a little bit of drama! The found family is just heartwarming and I really enjoyed the dynamics. I laughed so often ♡
In this last book of the series, any remaining questions and wonders I had about any of the other characters in the series have ben answered, and the ending has left my feeling at peace. Happy, content, and glad for the adventure but even more glad that in the end everyone fought for what they wanted and was able to make their desires real. Bravo!
After everything that this family has been through, I was glad they were able to finally take a vacation. But what a surprise they got! I cannot wait for the next series! Their kids are going to be wild!
