At seventeen, she ran away from home with her eleven-year-old brother to protect them both from their abusive father.
Now, after sacrificing her own happiness for four years while raising Jonathan, she’s ready to have a little fun, including a fling with a crazy hot police officer.
Police Officer Tyler Evans can’t catch a break. He was recently shot twice in the line of duty. If that wasn’t bad enough, he just got dumped by Lauren, the first woman he’s ever loved.
Now Tyler’s looking for a new place to live and a distraction from his recent heartbreak. Jess, a sexy and sassy exotic dancer, is just the one to help Tyler forget the woman he lost, even if it’s only for a few hours.
She knows she’s nothing more than a stand-in for Lauren, but being with Tyler, even temporarily, is just too good for her to pass up.
One night of excessive drinking sets a series of events into motion that will change Tyler and Jess’s lives. It’ll make them question if something real is developing between them, and whether or not they have a future together.
Through all the emotional obstacles, will Tyler be able to convince Jess that she’s more to him than a passing distraction? Or will the ghosts of Jess’s hellish past completely shatter Tyler and Jess’s happily ever after?
Lane Hart is a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author. She lives in North Carolina with her husband, D.B. West, and their two children. She loves all things beach related, especially sea turtles, and is a huge fan of the Carolina Panthers.
I'm not certain if the writer has ridden on a bus through an American college in the last 30 years let alone taken a class or had a conversation with a female student. The stories as presented are insults to intelligent women everywhere, readers and the writer.
All In: Betting on a Full House by Lane Hart a five-star read that is worth the risk. This is the second book in the All In series, but they can be read as stand-alone. This one will bring tears to your eyes and joy to your heart, as well as other body parts. Jessica Dodson is just trying to make a life for her and her little brother, stripping is just a means to an eds, it means she can earn enough to keep the lights on and be around for Jonathon, the fact that she has to be someone else doesn’t matter. When she catches Tylers eye she knows that its just a distraction, but at least its something. But what happens when one of them wants more? This book will touch on subjects not all will like, but Lane Hart deals with them in a great way, she makes Jess into a strong woman, no matter what happens to her.
Tyler is a damaged cop. He's been shot by a suspect and then thrown aside by the woman he loves. She leaves him to return to his best friend. With that kind of history, it's no wonder he isn't looking for a relationship. He has issues trusting any woman to allow her to get close while he's trying to maintain friendships with his ex and his best friend of more than a decade.
Jess has been stripping for the last several years to support herself and her younger brother. Raised by an uncaring and abusive father, Jess picks her brother up from school one day and runs, doing what she must to support them both and give them a chance at a life without abuse. She is so focused on keeping her head above water and providing a stable and safe home life for her brother that she rarely has any meaningful interactions with men. When they first meet, Tyler and Jess are instantly attracted to each other and act on it. However, Jess knows that Ty is just using her to forget about his heartbreak for a while.
As they spend more time together, Jess begins to realize that she has become emotionally entangled with Ty, but cannot believe that she's anything more than a hookup for him. Ty is a bit slower to realize that what he shares with Jess has become important to his happiness.
Both struggle to remain independent and unentangled, but they can't help their attraction. Neither trusts the other enough to believe that they won't be hurt.
When thrown into a difficult situation, Ty and Jess begin to lean on each other for support and open themselves up to each other. Both are so guarded that it is difficult for each of them to have enough courage to show their true feelings and hope for the best.
Ty is handsome, loving and protective - everything you would want in a book boyfriend. Jess, despite her rough upbringing and difficult life, remains feisty and loving. The two share explosive chemistry that becomes tempered by love and commitment. A great romance read.

This is one of those books that I am glad I did not give up reading it in the beginning because I found myself happy in the end but it was a real struggle to get there for me. I liked Jess or at least felt sympathy for her. Life had kicked her down multiple times but she does what she can to survive and to take care of her brother. The sacrifices she has made to protect and care for him are beyond what most people would do. My issue with her character was how immature she comes across, well at least to me. Considering the things she has had to do and endure in life she should have grown up really fast yet that is not how she comes across. Then you have Tyler. He is a great guy. Handsome, protective, sweet and loving, but I just could not wrap my mind around the best friend and his ex-girlfriend and how Tyler tried to keep his feeling locked up to maintain a relationship with this people? What? It was obvious to me that these three could not truly be friends since they keep hurting each other over and over again. This is why his relationship with Jess confused me from the get go. So all of that being said, how they helped each other realize that they could be together and help each other grow and love that is when I lost my confusion and started connecting to the story and the characters. It just took a realy, really long time to get there. I have read most of the other books in this series and really enjoy this author but this one didn't strike the same emotional cord with me that the others have.

I volunteered to read this ARC for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this story about Tyler and Jessica. This is the second book in the series and it was amazing. The characters are easy to relate to and fun to love. Tyler is a cop who just got dumped by Lauren when she chose Caleb instead of him. Jessica is Lauren's best friend and is there the night Caleb and Tyler came in to the club to help pay off Lauren's loan. Tyler and Jess hit it off. Thing heat up between them but she is afraid he's using her to forget about Lauren. Things get crazy when she ends up pregnant after a crazy night out for Lauren's birthday. Soon Tyler's a fixture at her apartment and her brother Jonathan even likes him. Follow then as they learn about each other and how it is to become a true family. Thru thick and thin Tyler will protect them. I loved the drama around them letting them on their toes from twins to PDA and getting attacked. Definitely recommend this book.

Jessica is an exotic dancer, raising her teenage brother. She escaped her childhood filled with physical and sexual abuse at 17, and took her young brother with her. Now she's managing to survive all on her own. One night her best friend invites her to a sexy, erotic time at the club where she works, with the two sexy men she's involved with. Jess jumps at the opportunity to be with the handsome police officer, Tyler. Turns out her friend must choose between the two men, and Tyler gets the boot. Although Jess knows he's on the rebound, she'll take him any way she can get him! Really loved the emotional connection these two have, especially since Tyler takes a while to figure that out. The end had me tearing up, but questioning why Tyler didn't see this happening. Great sexy, hot read! Will definitely be reading the next book!
Okay so lets just get to it. This book is amazing. Sure I admit I did not like Lauren in the first book ( and still don't) but I love Jess and just want everything for her and her brother Jon. Jess is everything you want in a friend except for that part where she definitely looks better then me. She is that stripper with a heart of gold. Taking off her clothes for all the right reasons. Yes I did like Tyler better then Caleb ( and still do) so I am thrilled he gets everything he deserves. While I was a little shocked at some of the heavy issues discussed in this book it only made me love it more. Hart makes her characters real and unfortunately people suck... and not always on the good parts. This is a must read!

This book is filled with emotional moments that leave you angry, sad, happy and everything in between. If you are strongly pro choice the beginning of the book is very pro life centered which can be annoying. The book deals with very heavy topics like child abuse, molestation and even prostitution as past events but shows the strength of the characters to move forward with their lives. The characters are well written and I love the strength the heroine has. Since I read the first book in this series a while ago some parts gave me deja vu. Overall this was a good book as long as you are prepared for the heavy content. There were times that caused me to laugh so having that levity was nice throughout the story.

This is not your average fluff bit of romance. ALL IN: BETTING ON A FULL HOUSE has substance, heart, a plethora of emotions all while dealing with some heavy topics from flawed characters that are so relatable. Have you read the teaser? Yes, it gives you all the facts, but what it can't tell you is what an amazing rollercoaster ride you will be on with these Jess & Tyler. One minute crying, then angry, then tears, then laughing at their antics. This is what makes a romance sustainable. The human element with all it's flaws and insecurities, fighting against the odds for what they believe. But is it the same as what YOU believe? Maybe, maybe not. But these characters have grit. Combine all this and you have a terrific read well worth the 5 star review and recommendation. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and ma voluntarily leaving a review.
This is quite the story about Jessica who's had a bad past as a child & Officer Tyler who's using her to take the pain away from his last love. I like how this story flows so smoothly with Jess & Tyler searching to find their HEA. I like how this story goes further in developing these characters with Jess coming to terms in facing her past with Tyler helping her each step of the way. Tyler is more supportive & protective once he wakes up to realize Jess means more to him than his ex-lover, Lauren, ever did. I got so absorbed into the story, enjoying their happy moments, getting the shock & fear that Jess goes through, wondering if anyone can save them. This is the type of novel that I couldn't put down. Excellent novel & I would recommend everyone to read it.

Hot and Satisfying! This is book 2 of the Gambling With Love series. This is the story of Tyler and Jess. After loosing in his previous relationship with Lauren and Caleb. Tyler has started hooking up with Jess, Lauren's best friend. At first Tyler thinks they are just messing around but when Jess decides she doesn't want to be a stand in for Lauren and starts to flirt with his friends Tyler's jealousy says this is more than just a hook up. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book. I simply could not put it down and by the time I reached chapter 31 I was so invested I actually cried with Tyler. That very rarely happens so kudos to Lane Hart!

This is the second book in the series. I would suggest that you read in order although not necessary. Ty is a cop that has been physically damaged by being shot . He is emotionally damaged as the love of his life has left him for his best friend. He seeks release from life with exotic dancer , Jess. Jess has been through more than anyone should. She has taken her baby brother and escaped from their abusive father. She has sacrificed to support them. As these two find that they are more than an escape and find healing in each other. Will they be able to find a HEA or will the past come back to ruin their chance. This is a steamy and emotional read. No dull moments.

Wow! What a ride. I was really not expecting this story! I think it was better than the first book, I was totally hooked since the beginning!
I love Jess! She a great character. Jess & her brother Jon have been through hell.
After reading Double or Nothing, I needed to read this book just so I could get more of Tyler's story. I did not like how they met but at least they found a happy ending together.
The book has danger, violence, and happy endings. Highly recommended and it is a really great story.

Loved this book and was so glad to hear how Tyler was after he was not the one that Lauren had chosen to be "the one". Enter Jessica who happens to be Lauren's best friend. Jessica has had a rough life but she hopes that after meeting Tyler that things might finally be going her way. This book has several surprises involving Tyler and Jessica as well as some suspense and nail biting moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Do yourself a favor and invest in this Book 2 of the Gambling With Love Series.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest and totally voluntary review.
OMG.... F A B U L O U S and A M A Z I N G. What's fantastic book. I literally couldn't stop reading this book. I was sucked in and wanted to keep reading & reading.
I want to swap my husband for Tyler. He is do adorable, sexy and my goodness he is do soon love with Jess. He & Jess are so made for each other but have a few bumps in the road. The book takes on some challenging subjects but are done so in a very tactful yet understanding way.
I loved the chemistry between Jess and Tyler, there hot & sexy scenes were of the chart. I loved the funny comments throughout the book.
If I could give more that 5 stars I would as it was amazing. I can't wait for more xx
I really enjoyed this second book in the series. Tyler starts off as a bit of a jerk using Jess to get over Lauren, but he definitely redeems himself as the book progresses. Jess had a really tough life and through grit and determination makes a comfortable life for her brother Jon and herself. Through all the trials and tribulations these two have to get through, it was heartwarming to see their HEA.
The story was complex, emotional, sexy and heartwarming. The characters were relatable and complex. Highly recommend.

Jess has been taking care of her brother Johnathon since she was seventeen. She has had to hold down several jobs in order to make a home for them. Jess is a stripper and makes a decent wage. Her best friend Lauren talks her into helping one of her boyfriends out. Jess sees Tyler and she is lost in his eyes, the chemistry is off the charts. This book was received for an honest review. I really enjoyed reading this book, it will make you laugh, cry and even get mad, so bring lots of tissues with you when you begin reading this book.

Jess has to have a job she doesn’t necessarily want to provide for her and her brother. Stripping makes her good money. And after a wild night with Tyler she doesn’t mind being a diversion for him. Tyler is a hot cop but he’s also getting over his girlfriend picking his best friend over him. It was a tangled mess but Lauren has to make a choice it just wasn’t Tyler. This book is fantastic. Lane is one of my my favorite authors . I ran the gamut of emotions reading this book and that is what makes her one of the best. Lots of hot steamy love but there’s sadness and heartache. Read it you’ll love it!

First thing I thought reading this.... fidelity is not a big thing is it?!? :/
Reading this you would never believe the characters are 20-22 year olds, they act much much more older and had to remind myself they are just legal.
Nonetheless it was an enjoyable read. It shows the struggles Jessica went through during her time at her old house and how what she did to give her younger brother a HOME.
Tyler had it all - great family, great job, great friends - except the girl he initially wanted, but upon his first hook up with Jessica parks were flying, one thing led to another and.........
Now you have to read Double or Nothing first. Spoiler alert... Tyler is heartbroken from being dump by Lauren and he tries to get over her with Jess her best friend who is also a stripper. Now I like Jess she was a better person than Lauren was. I love that she takes care of her brother. Now I am sorry she had a bad life growing up but despite it all she grew up to be a wonderful person. Tyler deserves Jess and reading this book I went through the rollercoaster of feelings. I understood everything Jess did but I was feeling sad for why she felt she had to do it. Now Tyler of course figures out everything he wants and they have a Happily ever after ending. I recommend this book.
**This review is for the whole All In Series not just the first 3 books** There are things about the books in this series that I really love and there are things about the series that I really don't like at all. Some of the female character through out the series I found to be selfish and cruel while others I loved. This series is filled with more alpha males then any other series that I've read and that's a super amazing thing. Please don't let this review turn you off to this series because it's well written and I truly did enjoy most of the books in the series.
Tyler & Jess's story. Wow! What a ride. What starts out more light hearted changes tones by the end. Jess & her brother Jon have been through hell. They rely on each other. Tyler enters and throws everything for a loop. Throw in a jackass father and bat-crap crazy mother for more swerves. I really enjoyed this book. It does contain discussion of sexual & physical abuse for those not wanting to deal into darker topics. Those topics made the characters who they are. The sex scenes are very hot & explicit.
Wow! I was really not expecting this story! I think it was better than #1. I was totally hooked since the beginning ! I really liked that their "doubts" sounded real and that both of them loved each other ( even when they were not 100%sure about it)
I felt deeply sorry for her childhood, and all the things that she went through. I cried a little bit, who wouldn't ?
A strong female character and a hot guy with some trust isssues! This is the recipe to get a great book! Looking fordward for #3!
Sexy NC police officer finds true love. Can he convince her that she deserves love? The convincing is part of the fun. Let's follow them on this adventure as lives are changed. This can easily be a stand alone, but to read the first book, just makes it all more fulfilling. The author does not repeat herself with details from the first book, like so many others do. This makes it an easier and more satisfying read.

Love the continuation; giving Tyler his own story with Jessica (Lauren's best friend). I felt bad for Tyler and am so glad that he gets a book for himself. There were a couple of twists and turns that I certainly didn't expect, but loved them all. Loved it so much that I'm thinking about reading it again! Can't wait to read the next book in this series, with the additional characters that were added to the first book in the series.

I have enjoyed other books by this author so was looking forward to reading this story. However, I couldn't connect with the characters. I felt there wasn't an emotional connection between Jessica and Tyler. Granted Tyler hooked up with Jessica in the beginning to forget a former girlfriend, but even though there were lots of sexy times, there didn't seem to be any feelings, other than lust, until MUCH later in the book. I liked the characters themselves, but their relationship, not so much.

A story of a Jess and Jon who lived a life no one wants. Police Officer Tyler is coming from a broken relationship that was bad to begin with. He's on the rebound and she knows he's only using her to forget, but she wants him. Then one day when they are all out drinking things start to change. Jess is in the mood to flirt and Tyler is not liking it. What will Tyler do? What Will Jess do? How can she keep herself and brother safe? Who's heart will get broken?
