There are some good stories in this book, but it takes no general direction, except shamefully drunk and southbound. Its painful to read at times. At times, the author shares some interesting thoughts that would be improved with better use of vocabulary and major editing efforts.
This is a great travel memoir. I just wish the ending wasnt so quick. Lots of funny stories, insights, thoughts, experiences all logged daily. It was a lot of help for my research, for i too plan on floating down the country. Doesn't really explain how he gets home that bugged me.
