When ghosts from the past drive Fortress Security operative Grant Bowen from his bed to run in the early morning hours, he doesn't expect to stumble across an injured woman. As his past collides with his present trouble, an assassin targets the woman Grant's falling for, doggedly pursuing him with fatal intent and putting every person Grant cares about in his crosshairs. Grant will do anything to save Rayne, including taking on a killer leaving a trail of dead bodies in his wake.
To Rayne Weatherly, a member of the Artemis team, the past should stay where it belongs--in the rearview mirror. But when a killer comes after Rayne and the police view her with suspicion, she vows to fight back. Joining forces with a Fortress operative with the skills to combat their adversary, Rayne and Grant rely on each other and their training to protect their teams and themselves while hunting for a man consumed with the need for revenge.

So I don’t normally do reviews. However, I am a big fan of this author. I read all of her books more than once. I do love them. I’m honestly a little disappointed by the Artemis series.
I was really hoping it would focus more on the girls and not the men. Even still I can get on board.
However, it just seems like there’s a formula to these books now.
Let me start by saying what I liked: I like the action and I like the romance. I like the friendship I like the few instance when the women can really shine.
What I didn’t like : there seems to be a formula appearing. In the beginning of the series, it started out interesting. Then once again, we have the hostility between security men and women and cops. I feel like that’s not necessary. I feel like every book does not need posturing. I don’t feel like we always need to be reminded of the antagonism between the two forces. I also don’t feel like we always need it. Oh my goodness there’s a black. There are constant reassuring that don’t need to be there. Raynes insecurities were totally unfounded based on everything that the group has already done. She should have known that her team would stay behind her. I felt like her past could’ve been better.
I feel like the whole story just could’ve been better. I feel really enjoyed it and it’s definitely worth a read. I just wished that there was a little something extra.
I can’t wait for Iona story and I really am hoping that the author kicks it up a notch it makes it intense and high impact.
I’m hoping that Riley will have some sort of personality. I mean, the other girls didn’t really have a difference in personality. I’m hoping Riley will have like some sort of chocolate addiction that was suggested in the book.
I have loved reading the Otter Creek Series, the Fortress Security Series and the Maple Valley Series. They each gave me visual insights to each major character and each setting and background. I could picture in my mind all aspect of the scenes being set by Mrs.Deel. Those visuals character insights were not as apparent in the 3 Artemis Books and I was very disappointed. The books had lots of dialogue but limited visuals to set the scenes as her previous books so wonderfully did.
I love her books. They are clean and fun to read. I'm always checking to see if she's brought out a new one. I get so excited when she does. This one was awesome. Love the Artemis series. Love all the series. Lol! Waiting for new ones in the other series too. Love Fortress, Otter Creek and Maple Valley. Hoping eventually we will see second generation books.
These stories are always good and this one is one of the best I've read of Rebecca Deels books. Artemis and Echo teams have been working together and in this one the couple lurch from problem to incident. It's really good as they and their teams work everything out. Throw in a HEA and what more could you want.
This book was a great read! I'm glad to see another of the ladies from Artemis find their HEA. It was great to "see" some of the characters from Fortress make an appearance too.
As with all of the books in any of the series written by Rebecca Deel, these books can be read as a standalone, but are best enjoyed in order.
Another fantastic, CLEAN romantic suspense from Rebecca Deel. I love her books and I love getting to know each of the characters better. If you want a clean, military romantic suspense I highly recommend these books.
I love Echo and Artemis teams, I especially enjoy seeing them work together with complete acceptance and trust. Echo are being targeted, which also puts Artemis in the cross hairs too, Grant and Rayne are targeted first, but targeting any one of them means you get the full power of Echo, Artemis and Fortress hunting you down. Rayne and Grant have been flirting and dancing around their attraction for a couple of months, one early morning run changes everything, but they don't hesitate to claim each other and fight the threat as one. It's a twisted and illogical case, the pieces just don't fit together...until they find that one piece that connects all the others. By then it may be too late! Well it might be if it was anyone but Fortress! I love this book, and I eagerly look forward to the rest of the series as the Artemis teams claim their Echo men! An amazing read on Kindle Unlimited.
Almost all of Rebecca Deel's books get 5 stars from me. I love them. There is a lot going on in this book with lots of characters, suspense, and action. It is very entertaining and has the necessary (to me) happy ending. Very good!
