I was given a review copy of this book and it was a thought-provoking collection.

Are curses real or is it the mind that convinces they are effective? This collection, written by various authors, delves into the possibility that curses have power. Revenge, justice and greed are three of the themes. While all the stories are cautionary tales, they demonstrate the tricks of the mind, but maybe...

There was some good storytelling with suitable characters in a variety of settings.

These short stories focus on curses from various backgrounds and environments. Some were better than others, and I really did like “The Lamp” by Danaeka Scrimshaw and the twist at the end. For most of the books, however, there was more telling than showing with some exposition, so be sure to expect that. Overall, this is a decent collection of short horror stories for anyone who needs to while away an hour or two.
