In the wake of their harrowing escape from Dierock 88, Atlas and the crew of The Dysarchos are plunged into a galaxy teetering on the brink of a new Civil War— The Galactic Command against the Black Fleet, led by the enigmatic General Titanus and, unexpectedly, Atlas' own father, Pyros.
BLOOD MATTERS.
With his mother— a prominent figure within Vanguard, and his father, whose true nature Atlas is only beginning to understand— vying for his allegiance, he is left caught between loyalty to his friends and the familial ties that bind him to the war.
A FRACTURED GALAXY.
Traversing the stars, Atlas' mission becomes to secure a pilot for their mysterious alien ship, and to rescue the families of his crew, entangled in the escalating chaos.
FIND A PATH, OR MAKE IT.
The lines between friend and foe, right and wrong, are blurred, and as Atlas uncovers layers of deception and betrayal, the secrets of the Kosmonautai might become the only thing essential for survival.
The sequel to Dierock 88 was a very different experience than its predecessor. I fully enjoy both books, and Paradiso takes you on a wild ride through the Galaxy. We find out so much more about Atlas and his crew and watch as they and other get into all sorts of trouble. I will say that there are a LOT of characters in this book and a LOT of different things happen. I feel like this might have worked better as two books with so much taking place, sometimes with little to no setup. Other than that, the book delivers on its promises and even though it ends on another cliffhanger, I loved the choices the author made with regards to character development. I’ll be excited to see what’s next in the Kosmonauti series.
(My copy had a handful of typos, but I think most of those have been corrected with newer editions of the book.)
This book picks up right where book one, Dierock 88, left off. The intrigue in the plot twists is amazing. The cast of characters is large (a list would be useful!). The world is rich and interesting. Great book! Looking forward to the next one!
