2.5 ⭐️ Alex + Dante Professor and student | Mafia | Good boy
This started pretty good. I enjoyed it enough for awhile until about 80% when there was a pretty big breach in safety and trust that had me losing respect for Dante and took me out of the story. I probably would have DNFd at that point but I wanted to find out what happened with a plot point. Which I discovered doesn't even get resolved in this book. Go figure. 🤷♀️ But beyond this, I struggled with really feeling the connection between the MCs. It just lacked.
See below the spoiler tag at the bottom if you want to know what happens at 80%
Also, this needed another editing. There were spots in Alex's POV where the book either said the wrong name or addressed Alex in the third person instead of first. Also had spots with missing quotations. A mistake or two isn't the issue. But when it's to the point that I'm taken out of the story because I have to piece stuff together, then I have a problem with it.
⚠️ potential spoilers below in detailed tropes, content and warning lists
Tropes/content: Frat boy 4.0 student Professor Age gap (20 and 28) Crime family Touch him and die Hurt comfort Makes sure he eats Makes him stay in the guest room until the guy who hurt him is taken care of (before they're ever together) Overhears him jerking off Submission with a side of brat Rimming Edging Quick choke Good boy "Are you my good boy?" Bareback Alex's first kiss with a man Ass virgin Aftercare Roughness with tenderness Lap sitting and carrying Possessive Mine "Baby" Riding lessons 😏 Care roles reversed after injury Face fuck 💦 in pants hands free while giving head After hours office spanking (hand and belt) Strict roles Epilogue 3 months later - Dante proposes
*Alex says he wants to eat Dante's ass and Dante clearly loves the idea but we never see it. Boo
Warnings: Violence towards MC from side character (cuts face with broken bottle) Drugging of an MC from side character Dante's parents died in a car accident when he was 12 Dante gets shot in the arm Dante fucks Alex face so hard and just holds himself down his throat to the point that Alex had to shove him off so he could breathe Alex has a gun held to his head by side character, guy gets away. This was the unresolved plot point
Here's what happened around 80%: There was a line Dante crossed with sex. Alex gave him permission to face fuck him. He wanted it, but was uneasy at first, flailing around and not relaxing to allow it. Dante said "you know I'd never actually hurt you, right?" Alex calms, relaxes and trusts him. IMMEDIATELY after saying that, he shoves himself down Alex's throat for so long that Alex had to shove Dante off of him so he could breathe. He was hunched over for awhile trying to pull himself together. Dante's only response was "get over here so I can come down your throat." No checking in, no making sure he was still good with continuing, no apologizing after clearly taking it too far. Just, get back over here so I can get off. That's rapey and gross.
His Forbidden Professor by Silvia Violet is book 2 in the Forbidden Mafia series. Alex and Dante are attracted to each other, but Dante is unwilling to do anything about it since Alex is his student. Alex pushes until Dante eventually gives in. I do like this author’s mafia romances but I just felt like this one was missing something. I felt nothing between the two MCs. Why were they even into each other? The spicy scenes took precedence over any sort of emotional intimacy and made me doubt their connection. I have not read book 1 and was able to keep up. I am unsure if I will read that one or the next one either.
I have never read anything by Silvia and I’m hooked because this forbidden romance was so good. I don’t read a lot of professor/student pairings but this one hit every notch in my life that I didn’t know I needed. I really need to go back and read the other books in this series because wow!
I just loved Dante so much from how he didn’t want Alex because it was wrong to later in the book where he was completely obsessed with him and no one else could have him. I’m a huge sucker for possessive man like Dante.
Alex. Sweet baby Alex. I really love him so much and I love how he got a lot of his first times with Dante. I really loved how it was because of him that Adenine got the home she desperately deserved.
Dante gets so possessive over Alex when the Russian mafia starts to target his Alex and man, what a whirlwind that was. To see Dante crazy and possessive over his boy was so hot. He also taught things to Alex that he didn’t think he needed such as a relationship or even the intimacy.
This book is filled with mafia vibes that made me eager for more, so much emotion and feelings, and just everything in between that I didn’t think I needed but did. Also, I loved how the dynamic of Dante and his brothers.
I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
It was good, and a nice student teacher trope in the beginning, though I know it's going to be the Theriots affairs 😝 But yeah, my ADHD didn't let me pass this one. I like Alex and Dante, they have that chemistry frombthe start. My complain is that at 76%, there are some mismatched placing character. Maybe if the editor worked a little carefully, this book can avoid that. I will read about Rafe in the future as well.
Another great book in a super fun series/word. I love these books. Look, they’re action and chemistry and swoonworthy morally-grey men. The way this story overlapped with His Forbidden Obsession was very well done. I was always aware of where we were in the main plot and never confused. I’m very intrigued about where the plot will go in the third (and I’m assuming final?) book.
Dante was such a fun character. His internal conflict over the family business contrasted nicely with his complete loyalty to his brothers and cousins. The dominance in his personality toward relationships was also exceptionally interesting when you consider the stereotypes of how middle children behave as adults.
As for Alex, his character took a turn for me. He’s introduced as a complete frat bro with a secret, though that secret (gay, semi-submissive) is revealed pretty early on. I did wonder that his cocky attitude from the first little bit of the story all but disappears. But I suppose that could be a sign of his absolute trust and comfort in Dante’s presence. Either way, he was a fun character to read. I did expect his family to have more of a role in the story, though, and was surprised that they were little more than a footnote.
Are these books grounded firmly in reality? Yeah, probably not. But they’re a joy to read. Over the top without being corny. I adore how close the Theriot brothers are in this series and how they’ll do just about anything to protect each other.
This is my first book from Silvia Violet and i really enjoyed it . Dante knows he should keep away from his student Alex but when he’s in danger he gets protective because no one is going to hurt what is his. Alex was your typical goes after what he wants and doesn’t consider the consequences which gets him in to hot water a few times. I wish i had started with the first book or maybe the previous series but saying that reading this first didn’t spoil anything and I picked up on who the characters were . I am hoping the next book us Rafe’s because that’s going to be a whole lot of fun.
I was prepared to devour it in a single sitting but unfortunately it just became a struggle to get through. While yes things progressed at a pretty fast rate despite the setting more so it was the fact the chemistry between the mcs was nonexistent? I was sitting there reading about their feelings but I wasn’t seeing the proof of it or feeling a single thing about it.
The plot was good but felt a little rushed. Dante’s and Alex’s relationship went from a 1 to a 5 real fast didn’t see much of a build up. But I love how Dante’s family stood up for Alex and his friend Mitch. I’m hoping they catch Ivanov soon and I wanna see the rest of the family.
This was not great. There are major continuity issues and edits necessary to make this enjoyable. The story had promise, but it was not executed well. The MMCs' insta-love wasn't believable. The story was confusing at times. The dialogue wasn't always clear who was speaking. I really wanted to like this, but I didn't.
I expected a lot more from a book with an average 4.11 Goodreads rating.
Spice is fire, though. About the only thing positive about it.
His Forbidden Professor is a red-hot “taboo” story of obsession and desire.
Confined to a life that leaves him isolated and unfulfilled, Alex yearns for a way out from under his family’s thumb. Dante wants to focus on his research and teaching, and to be left out of his family’s “business,” but keeps getting pulled back in. Dante never thought a student would tempt him, but Alex is determined to get under his skin. When this student and professor meet, their worlds collide in ways no one could ever have expected.
I love the push and pull of their attraction to each other. Their chemistry is fantastic. Their personalities are so different, but they play off each other so well, and when Dante “gives in” to Alex’s flirtations, his true self takes over. It’s fantastic.
For me, it’s always a joy revisiting Silvia Violet’s Marchesi Universe, and getting to see the guys from the Theriot family again was super fun, especially when we got to see Tony again!
There were some things I thought went a little unresolved with Alex and his family dynamics/drama. The beginning sets us up as though we’re going to get a lot about that, and there’s only a little sprinkled throughout the book. Plus, there’s no true “resolution” or “confrontation” with that aspect.
There’s a part of the bigger plot that will continue in book three, but I don’t have an issue with that. The Big Bad storyline threads throughout the trilogy for these three brothers.
Listen, if you like Silvia Violet’s other mafia-related books, you’re going to like this. If you love those other books, you’re going to LOVE this.
There’s something so indulgent about reading these books. They’re usually quick reads, partly because they’re not super long and partly because I devour them every time I read them. She writes these magnetic romances with incredible heat that have action and adventure as well. Her main characters might not always be Good Guys, but they’re always great, and the Bad Guys always get their comeuppances.
If you’re a fan of morally charcoal-gray characters, violent ends for evildoers, and spicy romances with D/s themes and power imbalances, try this series! I recommend starting with His Forbidden Obsession, though, as a lot of the plot of this book overlaps with the plot of that one and the storyline will make more sense if you’ve read that one first.
New Review! His Forbidden Professor (Forbidden Mafia #2) by @silvia.violet
Listen, book 1 was so delicious that when I saw that book 2 was available… I slammed that request button IMMEDIATELY. The thirst was SO REAL. Dante is objectively the hottest of the Theriot brothers imo, hunky and nerdy as in HE’s A F*CKING PROFESSOR nnnnnnngh and so protective ma’am the loyalty k1nk is off the charts. I can’t. I just CANT.
Anyway and this is his book and you KNOW I was going to read it and drool over it.
In my limited reading of Silvia, I’ve discovered that whenever she can fit in the Dâddy/bôy dynamic she a) will and b) will write it dang well and c) make you so th1rsty y’all gonna need to chug a 4L of water to keep up
It’s a forbidden student/professor AND Dâddy/bóy AND touch him and d1e maf1a book with very k1nky D/s
MA’AM WHY YOU GOTTA FILL OUT A FULL KNK BINGO CARD WITH ONE BOOK??? I AM BUT A HUMBLE HUMAN??!
Anywho, it’s a DELIGHT.
The book.
Dante, middle bro of the Theriot family is just trying to live his life as a professor at university when he is clocked by a very impressionable and very hot young man who DEF wants to get into his pants. Oh and he’s his student. But that’s never going to happen. But Alex, the student, is VERY determined, and flirts and tries to seduce him anyway. And Dante is very tempted but stands his ground.
It’s only when Alex is drügged and appears on his doorstep needing help that Dante helps him and vows to protect him: very quickly Alex worms himself into Dante’s life and becomes *his boy* even going so far as endangering himself when Dante goes to deal with some Theriot “family business”
Things go out of control when the evil Russians threaten the Theriot family and go as far as putting Alex in danger and Dante loses all control; no one, NO ONE touches his *bôy*.
He might have never known the words but his actions speak for themselves, Dante Theriot might be in love.
Oh and there’s SP1cy Knkiness in every nook and cranny of this book and I for one am here for it. Positively delicious.
Dante, a professor with dangerous mafia ties, immediately sees through the cocky frat‑boy act Alex puts on when he strolls into class late on the first day. Beneath the charm and attitude, Dante senses deeper layers he’s not supposed to touch — because Alex is his student, and any attraction between them is strictly off‑limits. But when Dante discovers Alex is in real danger, the line he’s been trying not to cross becomes impossible to hold. Alex turns to him for protection, and Dante can’t walk away. As he fights to keep Alex safe, the connection between them grows into something far more powerful — and far more dangerous — than either expected. Saving Alex might cost Dante everything… but opening his heart to him might be the one thing that saves them both.
I loved dark, intoxicating romance that pulls you in from the moment Dante locks eyes with Alex — the cocky frat boy who strolls into class late and hides far more than he reveals. The forbidden professor–student dynamic is already charged, but the added layer of Dante’s mafia ties gives the entire story a deliciously dangerous edge. What really makes the book compelling is the way both men peel back each other’s masks. Alex’s swagger hides fear and vulnerability, while Dante’s cold control cracks the moment he realizes Alex is in real danger. Their connection is messy, magnetic, and impossible to resist, especially once Dante steps in to protect him. This is a story about two flawed men drawn together by danger, desire, and the hope of something redemptive in the darkness. If you enjoy morally grey characters, forbidden attraction, and a romance that feels as risky as it is addictive, this one delivers. Easy to read and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
4.5 couldn’t put it down Firstly, let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review. I was pretty much hooked on this book from the first chapter and I just could not put it down so we have Dante who is a professor who teaches and is also part of a mafia family. He hopes that one day he can leave that life behind, but as soon as a family member is in danger he goes running to help. But he also has one other problem and that is a student called Alexander. Alex had an issue with another student whose dad and his dad had (Beef) so now it’s just another problem Alex had to deal with. Alex want to go back into the frat house it was too loud and too many drunk people so he fell asleep on a bench and this is when he first saw the best looking man you’ve ever seen who had a very cute behind. How did he know that because the man was jogging away while Alex was paying for the party last night. And then to make matters worse, he’s running late for class and who would his professor be?? None other than the jogger. Alex decided in that instant that he was gonna get the professor. There’s other little stories going on throughout this book, but honestly, I couldn’t put it down. How Dante didn’t act faster, I have no idea cause Alex is a force. He was determined to get his guy and he did. I couldn’t help smiling, the banter between these two is just excellent. The passion they share is of the charts. And Alex was finding out he had another kink Dante was bringing out of , And I’ve got to say.Dante brother is such a cutie and a wind up merchant. Overall this is a 4.5 and I cannot wait to read another book from this author.
Getting the dynamic right in a professor/student relationship is tricky, and I thought Silvia Violet crafted this book in a way that felt forbidden and steamy without crossing the line. Dante was a professor with mafia connections, and Alex was the frat boy student who charmed him during the first day of class. The two of them shouldn't have made any sense together, but Alex brought out Dante's protective, possessive side in a way no one else had. It didn't take long for me to realize that Alex was a little instigator, showing up at Dante's house and not falling for any of Dante's bs about not wanting him. The plotline in this book had a lot of overlap with His Forbidden Obsession, and all of the mafia characters are linked to other series in Silvia's shared universe, so while you could read this as a standalone you'd get a lot more out of the cameos by starting with earlier books. It was fun for me to peel back the curtain on Dante's life during Lorenzo's crisis about Niko, and I surprised myself by really enjoying the chemistry between him and Alex. Because of the story overlap, many of the events in this book weren't a huge surprise to me, but it was still entertaining to see Dante and Alex's contributions firsthand and the end of the book did have some new bits that pushed the series-wide plotline forward. I loved the spicy moments, the love confessions felt fast but real, and the mafia brotherhood was out in full force showing that nothing could break them apart!
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
Silvia Violet brings us back to the world of the Theriot crime family with His Forbidden Professor. This is the second book in the Forbidden Mafia series which focuses on three brothers who are cousins to the Theriot family. You do not need to read the Theriot Family series before this one to understand the plot or family dynamics. Although, it is an amazing series and I highly recommend it. This story seems to run very close to the timeline in His Forbidden Obsession, book one in the series. You can read it on its own but I suggest reading book one in the series first. Dante never wanted to be part of the family business. He wants to teach college and conduct his research but he loves his family. Loving his family means he will do what needs to in order to support and protect them. That means he walks a thin line between two very different worlds. That line gets crossed when his younger, meddlesome, and attractive student, Alex comes to him for help. Dante needs to face his feelings for Alex, his responsibilities to his family, and the ethics of his profession. This is a great age/gap, mafia, romance. I love the dynamic between Alex and Dante. The story develops rather quickly but it fits with this series. I am always excited to visit the Theriot family and I am thrilled this series has expanded the family.
This is my first book in the series and can be read as a standalone.
Alex is Dante's student, and their relationship develops quite fast despite Dante trying to squash Alex's advances. He really doesn't protest all that much, to be honest, and despite the age gap and the forbidden nature of their tryst, they start seeing each other. However, when he realizes that someone from his mafia life might be following Alex, he tries to put some distance between them to protect the younger man, not realizing that he's only putting him in more danger.
I really liked how much of a go-getter Alex was. LOL He was sassy and fierce, too. Dante was a protector, although there were times I kind of wanted to shake him a bit, because of how stubborn he could be. They had great chemistry, although I would've liked their relationship to move along a bit slower. It was a bit rushed for my taste.
I loved Dante and Alex's interaction with Dante's family, especially with Rafe. I'm looking forward to his book.
Overall, an entertaining book. The romance moved along a bit too fast for my liking, but Dante and Alex worked as a couple, and the story was intriguing and fast-paced. Recommendable.

HIS FORBIDDEN PROFESSOR is the second book in the Forbidden Mafia series, and this story runs concurrently with His Forbidden Obsession.
I enjoyed the first book, although I did wish I had read the other series too, so I was looking forward to this one. While I still enjoyed it, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first for a couple of reasons.
Alex and Dante don't actually seem to have much of a relationship. Now, don't get me wrong, the spicy scenes are hot, but the emotional connection came in fits and starts. It was either all there or nothing. For me, there wasn't much build-up between the two of them. There were other relationships that either weren't explored (Alex and his father) or seemed almost superfluous to the story. The part near the end with Mitch felt quite disjointed.
Overall, it was a good book, and I'm glad I've read it, but I wouldn't rave about it. I'm looking forward to Rafe's story. 3.5 rounded up.
** Same worded review will appear elsewhere. **

Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Dec 26, 2025
Dante is the sexy older professor who is totally off limits. But Alex wants him and him being off limits isn't going to put him off. He's ready to break down the elusive professor and get what he wants especially when it seems that Dante isn't as unaffected by Alex's flirting and innuendos as he tries to perceive himself to be. But when trouble strikes as Dante isn't just a hot stern professor but also has family ties to organized crime even though he'd rather be out of that life it isn't as easy to get out. He keeps finding himself back in the mix every time one of his brothers calls except now he has these forbidden feelings for Alex that he can't ignore especially when he breaks and shows Alex his hand. But what his family is involved with right now isn't child's play and could be dangerous and Dante wants to keep Alex far away from it and keep him safe but can he? Read this book to find out! This was a page turner and I had a good time reading it although I wanted a bit more from it. A bit more development between Alex and Dante and we never really got to see Alex interact with his family and were mostly told about them and Alex's issues with them and I feel like that could have been explored more. But I really enjoyed Alex and Dante and was looking foward to their HEA
There were lots of things I liked with this book, including how it hooked me in at the start. I haven't read book 1 but this story still made sense without it (I'll be going back to read it now though!). Dante and Alex had great chemistry together and the world building in general was good. I liked how determined Alex was and how possessive Dante became in return, especially around keeping him safe. Rafe was a brilliant secondary character and I can't wait for his story next. My only slight downside to this book was that, at times, things felt a bit superficial between the pair of them. I really believed in their chemistry at the start (the 'forbidden' element) but then there wasn't a lot in between that passion and them suddenly being in love. Also, I didn't really get why Mitch was brought into the action. It felt a bit forced unless of course there are plans for him in later books but in that case I'd have liked him to be better developed as a secondary character. Overall, I'm glad they got their HEA together and I'm definitely looking forward to Rafe's book next!
I’m in love with this series! I loved Nikolai and Lorenzo so much but now Dante and Alex are my new favorites 😂
I’m obsessed with the student/professor trope so I was super excited to read this one and it was everything I needed.
Dante was so gone for Alex the moment their eyes met. He really tried so hard not to give in to his desires but Alex had other ideas.
Alex wanted Dante and nothing would get in his way of getting him. He knew Dante was dangerous and he should keep his distance, but the more he learned about Dante’s other life, the more drawn to him he was.
Dante knew the consequences of getting involved with Alex. Not only would he be putting his life in danger, but he could also lose his job. The more obstacles between them, the greater the desire.
Dante was such a daddy. His instincts to keep Alex safe were so natural that it took him by surprise.
I loved them together. Dante gave Alex the love and attention he never had from his family, and Alex gave Dante peace in his chaotic life.
I can’t wait for Rafe’s book. I need to see Mr “I’ll never fall in love” fall so hard he won’t even know what hit him 🤭
This book is amazing and I loved it! It’s Dante’s turn to get his happily ever after and what a wild ride it is! He’s a professor at a local university and wants to be as far away from the family business as he can. Alex is one of Dante’s students and determined to get closer to his professor than a student should. Dante will try to resist but will fail when Alex shows up on his front lawn, apparently having been drugged. As much as Dante wants to be just a professor, having the last name Theriot, and having Remington as a cousin makes that impossible. And he will turn to his family to help protect Alex. They will soon find that an enemy of theirs, a man named Ivanov, is after them for something Dante’s brother Lorenzo did and it seems Alex is caught in the middle. I love that Dante’s true feelings will show when Alex is truly in danger and as all Theriot men, Dante will fall hard for his man. Though Ivanov will escape their clutches for now, Dante and Alex will get their happily ever and I can’t wait to read what comes next!
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
Silvia Violet's "His Forbidden Professor" is another Theriot book in her Marchesi universe. The "other" Theriots. Professor Dante Theriot has Michael Corleone syndrome. "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in." (Courtesy of The Godfather II). He enjoys teaching, would love to be in research, but doesn't want to owe Remington, again. Of course, further into the book, he'll need the family connection. Student Alexander Hebert has his own demons. He's suffocating under family expectation, and hides it with a devil-may-care attitude. Instant attraction. Dante resisting, Alex pushing. Alex gets drugged, bringing out the good doctor's protective side. When they finally get together, my kindle darn near melted.... So, sizzling hot. This story runs simultaneously with Lorenzo and Niko's. And the plot arc with Ivanov will continue in Rafe's book. It was fast paced. The kink was "Oh my" with pearls clutching and face fanning. Remington and other familiar faces cameoed. Good, fun read. I'm really looking forward to Rafe's story. I received an advanced copy of this e book from GRR and this is my review.
I’m sorry I missed the first book with Lorenzo and Nicholai - son of their nemesis but it did not deter me from reading about the youngest Theriot brother- Professor Dante and his student - Alexander Hebert!
I love forbidden romances especially Professor/ Student and this one did not disappoint although I am not a big fan of mafioso tropes unless it has an engaging plot- line with lots of intrigue and steamy romance!
What do you get when you have a cocky, intelligent student who does everything in his power to seduce his stoic, sexy, dark, Biology Professor- TROUBLE!😈
Add in a mafia war, dangerous pedofile traffickers interfering siblings who will kill to protect their own and frat parties that will be the catalyst to the chaos and mayhem of Dante and Alex’s exhilarating journey!
I loved their toe curling chemistry and sexual dynamic that encouraged each other’s kinks and quirks!
An explosive plot twist that will follow into Rafes book…
A sweet epilogue will round off their journey with heart and soul!
I voluntarily received an ARC from GRR and the author for an honest non biased review.
I’m very new to Silvia Violet’s work and I’m looking forward to reading more. I really enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Forbidden Mafia Series. This is only the first series that I’ve read in Silvia’s Mafia Universe but I don’t believe that it’s hindered my enjoyment of this book. I’ve purchased the Marchesi Family Series, Vigilance Series & The Theriot Family Series which I’m going to get around to reading soon.
I thought Dante & Alex were good together but I would’ve loved a bit more build up in their relationship, as they clicked during sex but I didn’t really feel much of an emotional connection between them so their I love you didn’t hit like I was expecting. Dante is Alex’s professor & they also have a power exchange relationship. I enjoyed seeing Alex take care of Dante when he was injured, even though he didn’t make it easy for him. I’m really looking forward to reading His Forbidden Alliance next, as well as more books from Silvia Violet in the future. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author to others.
HIS FORBIDDEN PROFESSOR is the second book in the Forbidden Mafia series. It can be read as a standalone without issue.
What to expect: m/m romance Student / Professor Forbidden relationship first time Mafia family
Alex is your typical frat boy or so he wants you to think he is. He is instantly attracted to his professor and will do whatever he needs to be noticed by him. Dante notices Alex more than he really wants to. He knows nothing can happen between them until he finds Alex passed out in his yard and is exactly the type of man he wants. When being close to Dante accidentally puts him in the crosshairs of an enemy of Dante's family. Dante knows Alex's life is more important than his job and will do whatever he can to protect what's his. Alex and Dante have immediate chemistry. I love the suspense of Dante's family that adds to this story. This is a new author and series to me. I do want to go back to learn more but I didn't have to hard of a time with starting here.
I was given a free copy of this book to read and review for GRR
This was a fast, indulgent read with fantastic chemistry, even if the relationship progression felt a little rushed for me. Dante and Alex go from zero to intense pretty quickly, and I would’ve loved a bit more buildup, but the push and pull between them was still really fun to read.
Their dynamic works surprisingly well. Alex is such a little instigator, completely unbothered by Dante’s attempts to keep his distance, and once Dante gives in? That possessive, protective side takes over and it’s chef’s kiss. The taboo professor/student angle felt forbidden and steamy without crossing the line, which is not easy to pull off.
If you like Silvia Violet’s mafia romances, this absolutely delivers: morally grey men, strong family bonds, D/s themes, lots of heat, and violent people getting what they deserve. It overlaps quite a bit with His Forbidden Obsession, so I’d recommend starting there for the full experience.
Quick, spicy, chaotic, and very bingeable, exactly what I expect from this universe.
This was a really good story. I didn't read the first book and just started with this one. This book did keep me hooked and I needed to know what was going to happen.
Dante being a Professor has seen and heard it all from his students. He just comes to work everyday to do his job and not pay attention to the students that want to give him extra special attention. One day, a new student changes all that and Dante is not happy about it.
Alex is in a frat house and he has a hidden secret that he keeps from his frat brothers. He doesn't think anyone will catch onto it. He walks into his class and can't help but notice how hot the professor is. He makes a scene that he hopes will grab the professor attention. Sometimes you should be careful what you ask for.
This mafia romance is slightly different but it has your obsession, possessive dominate with a loving, sweet, innocent boy. These two were perfect for each other.
I received an ARC through GRR and this is my honest review.
Silvia Violet publishes books very frequently, and as a result they sometimes feel rushed and superficial to me. I do like mafia romance, and I always like a series which moves between different family members so you get to learn quite a bit about all of them. So I'll keep reading her, I want to know Rafe's story which comes next! I just wish she would spend a bit more time on each book to flesh it out a bit more. We know Alex has a difficult background but there is no further exploration of that at all, and his relationship with Dante seemed very rushed. Mitch seems a side character although he has a significant role, it would be good to have found out more about him. There are lots of sexy scenes though so if that's your preference that's really the focus of the story. I received an ARC from GRR.
