His Forbidden Professor by Silvia Violet is book 2 in the Forbidden Mafia series. Alex and Dante are attracted to each other, but Dante is unwilling to do anything about it since Alex is his student. Alex pushes until Dante eventually gives in. I do like this author’s mafia romances but I just felt like this one was missing something. I felt nothing between the two MCs. Why were they even into each other? The spicy scenes took precedence over any sort of emotional intimacy and made me doubt their connection. I have not read book 1 and was able to keep up. I am unsure if I will read that one or the next one either.

I received an ARC from GRR for my honest review.

His Forbidden Professor - Silvia Violet
5/5✨🌟

* SPOILERS *

I have never read anything by Silvia and I’m hooked because this forbidden romance was so good. I don’t read a lot of professor/student pairings but this one hit every notch in my life that I didn’t know I needed. I really need to go back and read the other books in this series because wow!

I just loved Dante so much from how he didn’t want Alex because it was wrong to later in the book where he was completely obsessed with him and no one else could have him. I’m a huge sucker for possessive man like Dante.

Alex. Sweet baby Alex. I really love him so much and I love how he got a lot of his first times with Dante. I really loved how it was because of him that Adenine got the home she desperately deserved.

Dante gets so possessive over Alex when the Russian mafia starts to target his Alex and man, what a whirlwind that was. To see Dante crazy and possessive over his boy was so hot. He also taught things to Alex that he didn’t think he needed such as a relationship or even the intimacy.

This book is filled with mafia vibes that made me eager for more, so much emotion and feelings, and just everything in between that I didn’t think I needed but did. Also, I loved how the dynamic of Dante and his brothers.

I received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

Another great book in a super fun series/word. I love these books. Look, they’re action and chemistry and swoonworthy morally-grey men. The way this story overlapped with His Forbidden Obsession was very well done. I was always aware of where we were in the main plot and never confused. I’m very intrigued about where the plot will go in the third (and I’m assuming final?) book.

Dante was such a fun character. His internal conflict over the family business contrasted nicely with his complete loyalty to his brothers and cousins. The dominance in his personality toward relationships was also exceptionally interesting when you consider the stereotypes of how middle children behave as adults.

As for Alex, his character took a turn for me. He’s introduced as a complete frat bro with a secret, though that secret (gay, semi-submissive) is revealed pretty early on. I did wonder that his cocky attitude from the first little bit of the story all but disappears. But I suppose that could be a sign of his absolute trust and comfort in Dante’s presence. Either way, he was a fun character to read. I did expect his family to have more of a role in the story, though, and was surprised that they were little more than a footnote.

Are these books grounded firmly in reality? Yeah, probably not. But they’re a joy to read. Over the top without being corny. I adore how close the Theriot brothers are in this series and how they’ll do just about anything to protect each other.

This is my first book from Silvia Violet and i really enjoyed it .
Dante knows he should keep away from his student Alex but when he’s in danger he gets protective because no one is going to hurt what is his.
Alex was your typical goes after what he wants and doesn’t consider the consequences which gets him in to hot water a few times.
I wish i had started with the first book or maybe the previous series but saying that reading this first didn’t spoil anything and I picked up on who the characters were .
I am hoping the next book us Rafe’s because that’s going to be a whole lot of fun.

New Review! His Forbidden Professor (Forbidden Mafia #2) by @silvia.violet

Listen, book 1 was so delicious that when I saw that book 2 was available… I slammed that request button IMMEDIATELY. The thirst was SO REAL. Dante is objectively the hottest of the Theriot brothers imo, hunky and nerdy as in HE’s A F*CKING PROFESSOR nnnnnnngh and so protective ma’am the loyalty k1nk is off the charts. I can’t. I just CANT.

Anyway and this is his book and you KNOW I was going to read it and drool over it.

In my limited reading of Silvia, I’ve discovered that whenever she can fit in the Dâddy/bôy dynamic she a) will and b) will write it dang well and c) make you so th1rsty y’all gonna need to chug a 4L of water to keep up

It’s a forbidden student/professor AND Dâddy/bóy AND touch him and d1e maf1a book with very k1nky D/s

MA’AM WHY YOU GOTTA FILL OUT A FULL KNK BINGO CARD WITH ONE BOOK??? I AM BUT A HUMBLE HUMAN??!

Anywho, it’s a DELIGHT.

The book.

Dante, middle bro of the Theriot family is just trying to live his life as a professor at university when he is clocked by a very impressionable and very hot young man who DEF wants to get into his pants. Oh and he’s his student. But that’s never going to happen. But Alex, the student, is VERY determined, and flirts and tries to seduce him anyway. And Dante is very tempted but stands his ground.

It’s only when Alex is drügged and appears on his doorstep needing help that Dante helps him and vows to protect him: very quickly Alex worms himself into Dante’s life and becomes *his boy* even going so far as endangering himself when Dante goes to deal with some Theriot “family business”

Things go out of control when the evil Russians threaten the Theriot family and go as far as putting Alex in danger and Dante loses all control; no one, NO ONE touches his *bôy*.

He might have never known the words but his actions speak for themselves, Dante Theriot might be in love.

Oh and there’s SP1cy Knkiness in every nook and cranny of this book and I for one am here for it. Positively delicious.

4.25 stars - This book sort of backtracks a smidge in that it takes place with things that happened in the previous book with Nikolai and Lorenzo.

Here, we have the younger brother, Dante, who has tried to separate himself from the illegal doings of his brothers and family. He is a professor at the college and has tried to make a legit life for himself.

This is all up in the air with Dante’s brothers needing his help in the fight to take out Ivanov, the man who tried to buy Nikolai and eas still looking to collect. When a brother needs any help, the others come running.

But, Dante is thrown for a loop when Alex, one of his students, sets his eyes on Dante and sets out to seduce him. Alex gets pulled into things by nature of association and Dante puts things in motion to keep Alex safe.

It doesn’t take long for the issue of the illicit and potentially career ending relationship to become overshadowed by their feelings.

The rest of the family is called in to help and things ramp up as they set their trap Ivanov and eliminate that threat once and for all.

I have really enjoyed this story so far. It has suspense and excitement outside of the relationships which have great chemistry and plenty of other interesting characters to enjoy. Looks like the 3rd brother, Rafe, is up next and as he has sworn of commitment and following his brothers’ romantic footsteps, his should be quite interesting.

HIS FORBIDDEN PROFESSOR is the second book in the Forbidden Mafia series, and this story runs concurrently with His Forbidden Obsession.

I enjoyed the first book, although I did wish I had read the other series too, so I was looking forward to this one. While I still enjoyed it, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first for a couple of reasons.

Alex and Dante don't actually seem to have much of a relationship. Now, don't get me wrong, the spicy scenes are hot, but the emotional connection came in fits and starts. It was either all there or nothing. For me, there wasn't much build-up between the two of them. There were other relationships that either weren't explored (Alex and his father) or seemed almost superfluous to the story. The part near the end with Mitch felt quite disjointed.

Overall, it was a good book, and I'm glad I've read it, but I wouldn't rave about it. I'm looking forward to Rafe's story. 3.5 rounded up.

** Same worded review will appear elsewhere. **

There were lots of things I liked with this book, including how it hooked me in at the start. I haven't read book 1 but this story still made sense without it (I'll be going back to read it now though!). Dante and Alex had great chemistry together and the world building in general was good. I liked how determined Alex was and how possessive Dante became in return, especially around keeping him safe. Rafe was a brilliant secondary character and I can't wait for his story next. My only slight downside to this book was that, at times, things felt a bit superficial between the pair of them. I really believed in their chemistry at the start (the 'forbidden' element) but then there wasn't a lot in between that passion and them suddenly being in love. Also, I didn't really get why Mitch was brought into the action. It felt a bit forced unless of course there are plans for him in later books but in that case I'd have liked him to be better developed as a secondary character. Overall, I'm glad they got their HEA together and I'm definitely looking forward to Rafe's book next!

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

HIS FORBIDDEN PROFESSOR is the second book in the Forbidden Mafia series. It can be read as a standalone without issue.

What to expect:
m/m romance
Student / Professor
Forbidden relationship
first time
Mafia family

Alex is your typical frat boy or so he wants you to think he is. He is instantly attracted to his professor and will do whatever he needs to be noticed by him. Dante notices Alex more than he really wants to. He knows nothing can happen between them until he finds Alex passed out in his yard and is exactly the type of man he wants. When being close to Dante accidentally puts him in the crosshairs of an enemy of Dante's family. Dante knows Alex's life is more important than his job and will do whatever he can to protect what's his. Alex and Dante have immediate chemistry. I love the suspense of Dante's family that adds to this story. This is a new author and series to me. I do want to go back to learn more but I didn't have to hard of a time with starting here.

Silvia Violet publishes books very frequently, and as a result they sometimes feel rushed and superficial to me. I do like mafia romance, and I always like a series which moves between different family members so you get to learn quite a bit about all of them. So I'll keep reading her, I want to know Rafe's story which comes next! I just wish she would spend a bit more time on each book to flesh it out a bit more. We know Alex has a difficult background but there is no further exploration of that at all, and his relationship with Dante seemed very rushed. Mitch seems a side character although he has a significant role, it would be good to have found out more about him. There are lots of sexy scenes though so if that's your preference that's really the focus of the story.

I'm giving this novel a 3.5 stars. I enjoyed the forbidden-relationship premise between the professor and his student, and I enjoyed that Silvia brought in the professor's brothers from the first novel. However, the storyline lacked cohesiveness. It felt choppy, and I didn't see any character growth from Alek. Alek's friends didn't seem like friends at all, and the storyline with his roommate felt like it was just dropped in to give some connection with certain other characters; it needed a smoother transition. I felt like I was reading the second draft of a potentially great novel. I am curious about Rafeal's story and which direction it will go, so I will definitely be reading the third in this series.

ARC REVIEW

I know the trope isn’t for everyone but I love the insta-love trope. Sometimes it just cuts out so much unnecessary plot points.

This is a professor/college student MM romance.

Dante is an attractive college professor/reluctant mobster muscle who is 8 years older than Alex, who has a miserable, detached family who only wants to use him as a pawn. Alex is obsessively attracted to Dante and softly stalks him while unknowing tempting Dante.

This was simply a fun and easy read with good spicy times and an interesting and at times twisty plot.

I hadn’t heart of this author before but certainly will be reading more of her book because I want to read the rest of the family’s story’s.

This series is a spin-off from The Theriot Family. His Forbidden Professor is the 2nd book in The Forbidden Mafia Series. The story overlaps the story in book one so I would advise reading in order.

Dante is fighting himself as he is trying to step away from the Mafia side of his family but is also willing to do anything for his brothers. The Attraction between Dante & Alex is instant but Dante is not willing to do anything about it since he is Alex’s Professor. Until he can’t resist any longer.

Alex and Dante were perfect together and I loved how much Alex worried about Dante when he was in danger. A total turnaround from the frat boy he started as.

Wow, this book was really enjoyable and absolutely earned its five-star rating. The tension never lets up, blending danger, hidden truths, and high-stakes choices with a romance that feels risky, addictive, and intensely satisfying. This was my first experience with Silvia’s writing, and I’m officially hooked—with the forbidden romance and professor/student dynamics, this one worked perfectly. Dante and Alex’s relationship truly stood out, especially the daddy/submissive element, which added serious heat and made their chemistry impossible to ignore. Dante’s possessive nature, the looming mafia threat, and the strong dynamic he shares with his brothers all came together to create a gripping, deliciously spicy, and unforgettable read that left me eager for more from this series.

When I first saw this book, I knew I had to read it—I’m a sucker for professor/student romances. I went in not knowing much about the plot, and pretty quickly realised it also dives into the mafia world, which was a fun surprise.
As the story went on, I did find myself thinking I probably should’ve read the first book before this one, just so I had a better grip on the background and characters. So in hindsight, starting with book one would’ve helped.
But that aside, I really enjoyed this story. The forbidden romance between Dante and Alex was deliciously intense, and they had great chemistry. There’s plenty of spice, action, and tension to keep you turning the pages.

I adore a good professor / student romance and this fit perfectly. I hadn't read the first book in this series and it would've been beneficial as I was a bit confused about who was been talked about at times. It didn't affect my enjoyment of Alex and Dante's budding relationship, however. They were magnetic and neither was happy being apart from the other, despite the forbidden nature of their romance. Alex came across as a typical frat bro at the start but it was interesting to see the real person his persona was hiding and to learn the reasons behind it. This made him more likeable and had me rooting more for their relationship and their eventual HEA.

Alex and Dante's chemistry was off the charts, and the danger, adrenaline, and the forbidding aspect exquisite.
I adored their cat and mouse game in the beginning, how they teased each other, and how slowly they realised their true feelings.
I loved their bonding moments, when they cared for each other, and the events that made them realise what they meant for each other.
I loved seeing old characters and their role in their happiness, as well as the support they offered during hard times.
It was a thrilling experience and I’m looking forward to the next adventure.

A professor with a mysterious past crosses paths with a super confident frat boy in his class. Though there are secrets on both sides and getting close to each other is a bit tricky, Alex's charm seems to work on everyone—could he win over his professor too?

As Dante struggles with his responsibilities to his career and his family, he finds it hard to shake off the connection he feels with this very fascinating student.

Their relationship begins to blossom beautifully, with their feelings growing stronger as they handle the challenges ahead. As the story unfolds, their bond deepens, and they discover love.

This is Dante and Alex's story from the Forbidden Mafia series. This book was good, but I think there could be more. It was very much an almost instalove situation, which for me, is always hard to do and sell it. I defintely think you have to read the first book in the series to understand what is going on, but if you have, then it was nice to continue the story. This was a quick read that I enjoyed, but I do feel it could be more. The foundation is there to build on. That being said, I am excited to read Rafe's story next.

His Forbidden Professor is the second book in the Forbidden Mafia series. This book can be read as a standalone but in my opinion the series is best read in order. This is the story of Dante and Alex. The blurb gives you a pretty accurate description of what to expect. What it doesn't tell you is how Alex and Dante work as a couple. I loved the chemistry between these two and the kink aspect of the story. There was some action and danger involved also. I can't wait for the next book in the series. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

This is not the type of book I generally read, and I am so glad I took a chance on it. It was so good...I love the action and the connection between professor Dante and his student Alex. Of course Dante is part of a mafia family and despite him not getting involved with one of his students, he cannot help himself when Alex is in trouble. Lots of action, off the wall chemistry and fast pace had me hooked. I for sure will go back and read book one. I love how Dante thinks he is in charge when in reality Alex hooks him in.

Had a blast reading Dante and Alex's book.

We have your not so average jock who has the heart-eyes or desire-eyes for his professor who takes no nonsense from anyone except the jock who stumbles into his life like a hot mess.

The push and pull between the MCs was thrilling and it was so much fun seeing a mafia member wishing to not want anything to do with crime only pursuing his academic life.

The monkey returns!!!

I really enjoyed Alex and Dante's story. It was a very instalove situation, but with all of the family mafia drama going on, everything emotional is heightened so it just made sense.

There was definitely enough angst to make this story worth the HEA ending, which I enjoyed.

Well, our hot mafia professor Dante is already living in a family of crime, so why not break the rules and get yourself some of that irresistible student of yours Alex? I loved that Alex had all the charisma and self-confidence to handle Dante. He reeled him in and I was pleased with all the possessiveness that overcame Dante. Chemistry is all that in these two!
