Read this as part of the curriculum for amphibious warfare studies over 35 years ago. A very thorough history of amphibious operations, and the development of amphibious strategy and tactics currently used by the U.S. Marine Corps

A collection of essays on the history of this type of warfare. Very informative for those interested in this subject. The essays I read were fairly well written, but I didn't read all of them.
