This really was the perfect way to end this amazing series. The writing was beautiful and the letters... wow, each and every one left me speechless.
It's raw, confronting and at times absolutely heart-shattering.
On the flip side it's beautiful, heart-warming and downright sinfully delicious.
It was everything we expected and more... SO MUCH MORE!!

It's not very often I read a series that affects me as deeply as Lesley Jones' "Carnage" did. Georgia Rae's story is one that has stayed with me from the minute I turned the first page, reading about a girl who (at the tender age of eleven) crossed paths with the boy she would spend her whole life loving as she swung upside down on the monkey bars showing her knickers to the world!!! lol. Even now when I remember certain parts of the story, I'll find myself either smiling like a cheshire cat or a lump will form in my throat. In fact, there are certain quotes from the series that (if I think about too much) have the power to reduce me to tears. Yup, this was one hell of a story and the characters, well over the course of the three books, they became my family. I laughed with them, I hurt for them and I felt their loss when tragedy struck. Would I change any of it for the world? Hell no!!! However, despite reading all three full length novels, I still felt that I hadn't quite got closure on certain elements of the Georgia Rae's story. For me, there were still loose ends that needed tying up. There were still secrets that remained locked away. So when Lesley Jones announced we'd be getting a novella entitled "The Letters," I was hoping I would finally be able to close the door on this amazing story and let the characters bask in their HEA in peace and without the prying eyes of us nosey readers.
So, I read "The Letters" the minute it landed on my kindle and what can I say? I'm a wreck... again!!! How did this author manage to fit so much into so few pages without it feeling rushed or crammed? How did she manage to elicit so many feelings from me? I honestly wasn't expecting to be assaulted by so many emotions... not all of them good either. This was about Sean's letters, of course it was but I got so much more than I bargained for. This was also about Cam and Gia and the kids. It was about Marley and Jimmy and the rest of the gang. This final instalment definitely opened up old wounds. It unearthed secrets that should have remained buried and forced the demons from the past to rear their ugly heads, forcing the pain and hurt from years gone by to resurface with a vengeance.
I got glimpses into the past from different POV. I fell in love with characters all over again. My feelings for others were definitely tested and guilt.. I think that was one thing I really wasn't expecting to feel. I had never been "Team Cam" and although I did eventually fall in love with him, my heart had always been with Sean. Stepping back in time and getting this man's POV really was an eye opener and the guilt that consumed me for how I'd felt about it was unnerving. This was a man who had laid down his heart at Gia's feet. He had handed his soul over to her on a platter. He had sacrificed his feelings and emotions just so he could have the girl but at the time, I just couldn't see through my own rose tinted "Sean" glasses that actually, he was a good man, the right man even.

It wasn't an easy ride to get there that's for sure and there were times I wondered whether a HEA was ever truly going to be possible for the characters. But we got there. Through blood, sweat and tears we got there and now, well now I'm a little lost. If you haven't read this series, it's a must. If you're thinking about clicking, bite the bullet and do it. Honestly, you won't be disappointed.

My heart races as I read. I switch from totally understanding the bloke's heartbreak to wanting to smash his fucking face in.

If you haven't read the Carnage Series stop what you are doing and read it NOW!
What can I say about this series that has broken my heart again & again, has put it back together again and again and has made me feel more love for characters I feel as if they are my family.
The Letters was absolutely hands down NOT what I thought it would be, what I had in mind can't even compare to the epicness that this series is. For me, this book was Cam's book I know it wasn't, but I felt he had so much to give in the Carnage series and The Letters showed who he was, what he was, And who he continues to be.
The tears continue but In a different way, I felt happy I felt complete I felt like it's time to finally move on. But in honesty every single one of these characters was brilliantly written and I never want to say goodbye. I am and always will be TEAM CAM so I devoured every single word he had to say!
I will never ever forget where this story started from and where it has ended. Must must read.
Lesley Jones, that ending!!!! I can't wait for what's too come.

I’ve sat for a while now trying to write my review but I feel like nothing I write will do it justice. Let me start by saying that this series has been one of my all-time favorite series since reading book 1 and this novella has made it even better.
This novella was like catching up with old friends. From page one, I was hooked. I didn’t want to stop reading. I laughed…and I mean, snorted laughed. I cried, man did I cry and I felt so much for these characters. In fact, I’m surprised at some of my feelings towards certain characters. I don’t know why I’m surprised because that’s just Lesley Jones for you. She has a way of pulling you into a story and making you feel ever single emotion the characters feel. Her words create this world and these people that you can’t help but care for, you want more of these characters, you don’t want to leave this world.
I adore these characters so much and I will miss them terribly but it’s nice to get closure and finally move on. I will hold this series close to my heart always. I will miss the Carnage family and will continue to re-read for many years to come.

I loved this novella in the Carnage series and have to say it was so not what I was expecting from this story. We all know from the previous books that Georgia has the crate of Sean’s belongings including the letters he penned for Georgia and like most Carnage fans I both did and didn’t want to open the wounds by knowing what they contained but I wanted to hear Sean’s voice too.
I expected a full on sobfest but this book was so much more than that, it was cathartic and beautifully written and at times hilarious, and delivered in a way I never expected. And why I did shed a tear or two for Sean, I smiled more for the man Cameron is and how fierce his love for Georgia is. It was hard to read the impact on Georgia but it was lovely to see how it helped in moving on and how once again this crazy family pull together and see each other through. I love the children that Georgia and Cameron have raised and loved their input into this story.
Having always been Team Maca I have to admit after reading The Letters I am now also very much Team Cameron too, that man is swoon worthy. Such a fantastic addition to the brilliant Carnage series that I think is essential reading for Carnage fans to round off Georgia’s story.
I really don’t want to say goodbye to these characters and would love to see more from this series.

I love the fuck outta you Kitten, stars
I honestly thought I was in for another tears and snot fest but what I got was a beautiful read that tells of destiny, the past and the present, there's laughter, hot moments and good old cockney charm.
Years into their marriage both Georgia and Cam still very much happily married and after finally facing the courage to go through Macas box Georgia starts to go through the letters she never opened.
Throughout the plot your taken back every now and again as Georgia plucks up the courage and one by one she opens them including Cam. The love Maca had for Georgia tugs on the heart strings and there are lots of beautiful words and reminiscing.
Told in dual pov's focusing on the present day with the life of Cam and Georgia, their kids and extended family I laughed out loud so many times it brought a brilliant balance to the whole book and that's the awesomeness of lesley Jones.
Cam: I'll have a coffee and some toast and then go wake my wife up with coffee and my extra special cream and a kiss from my dick.
What you get in this read is a heartwarming story of fate, a love so deep with Georgia and Cam it turns you to mush and a romance movies are mode of.
Loved reading Cams thoughts, what he went through in the past and his declaration of his love for his wife and family now and his humour, a swoon worthy guy and such a bbf
Favourite lines: " I might be from Essex mate, but I've got some class. I do not drink my white wine warm"
When the family gathers together its like the next generation forming, loved all the family banter and there sure is enough of the kids to have a series of their own.
Another brilliant read from lesley and I am really looking forward to book two.

I don't think there's ever been a series that has consumed me body, mind and soul like the Carnage series has. The love, the passion, the heartbreak...is of epic proportions & I feel it deep in my heart whenever I read Lesley's words. This beautiful novella was NO different. For Carnage fans this is a MUST read! Beautifully told - lots of tears - and amazingly epic.
This line from Lesley's acknowledgements really got me:
"These characters have consumed my life for two and a half years and now it's time to say goodbye.."
And as a true author who loves her readers and try's to give us what we want, her dedication:
"For my readers. You asked. I hope I delivered."
You are an amazing author Lesley Jones and I'm so happy to have joined this Carnage journey. Thank you for sharing another piece of The Carnage gang with us ❤️

When Lesley Jones announced that she was writing The Letters: A Carnage Novella I was thrilled. Any excuse to reunite with Sean, Georgia, Cameron, the Layton’s and the King’s and I AM ALL. OVER. THAT. What I expected was a chance to get a further look at Georgia and Sean’s missing years. I wanted pages upon pages filled with hurt, anger and extreme declarations of love. A sense of closure regarding the ‘missing years’. But that wasn’t what I got and knowing that many readers may not agree, I was delighted with the way it turned out.
What Lesley Jones gives readers is the inner thoughts and feelings of one of the most complex, yet heartbreakingly beautiful love triangles I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Written majorly from Cameron’s perspective the direction of this novella is unexpected and unanticipated. As storylines and trains of thoughts that have been very prevalent in the Carnage full-length novels; come to life. Lesley Jones in her well known English versed, sex fueled and foul mouthed shenanigans reminds readers why they will read anything centered around these characters.

Well what can I say... Sean will always have my heart.
This book is a MUST!!! for Carnage fans, I love Lesley's Writing she always has me right from the start and I can't put the book down Till i have finished.
You will Laugh, Cry, and just want more, This book wasn't what I expected it was more, it made me cry again! But I think just hearing Sean's name does that to me.
I feel like my heart is whole now Georgia can finally move on from Sean yes he will always be the love of her life and even though it wasn't as perfect But what love is. Sean will always have a bit of her heart.

Beautiful ! Opening up the crate and reading the letters brought us back. It makes you laugh, swoon all over again and will bring a tear or two. With that there are also secrets revealed. Loved getting more of one of my favorite couples and their life together. Looking forward to MORE stories from this great bunch.

This was a follow up novella in the Carnage series(the 4th book in the series) - to be read after you finish Marley. I loved the letters ~ it was so sweet and so sad to read all the little parts of their past and present. Definitely a great little addition to the series!

5 You’re My Whole World Stars!!!
OH MY GOD. This novella was NOT what I was expecting. At all. It was SO MUCH MORE! Ahhh!!! I’m so, so in LOVE with this story!!! Lesley Jones NAILED. IT.
From chapter one to the epilogue I was RIVETED. My heart pounded. It squeezed. It shattered. It blew the fuck up! And then it healed. I felt every emotion possible. Happiness. Sadness. Angst. Anger. Love. Lots and LOTS of LOVE. And man did I laugh my ass off! Repeatedly! GOD I love these characters! Every single one! You feel everything they feel. And holy shit did I FEEL. My stomach was in knots. And that is the true magic of Lesley Jones’ writing. You’re THERE with the characters, every step of the way. You feel like you are a part of their family.
The ending had me going....

Wow just WOW.
Letters is about letters Sean wrote for Gia. This story is told by Cam (Tiger) and Georgia (Kitten) pov.
Lesley writing this book gives you a look at Cam and Georgia's life today. It lets you see a snippet of how Cam felt and what Sean really thought. There is one letter that will bring the whole carnage series to an end, well it did for me it also broke me down and made me cry.
I wasn't sure what this book would be like I half heartedly started it thinking it was just a 're write of carnage I was very very wrong and one page in my whole heart and head was fully involved. I absolutely loved it. It will bring tears to your eyes but it will warm your heart. What an ending

Why couldn't we have stopped with Marley?
Every one knows how I feel about Georgia and Maca. Everyone. But this one was really unnecessary. If anyone else is like me, they forgot about the letters. And I damn sure didn't want Cameron being the one to read some of them.
I wanted more letters. I wanted more of that four years they spent apart. But, you don't always get what you want.
BUT with that ending, Lesley will hook a ton of more readers with these characters. Because I was so lost at that ending.

Will I ever be able to get through a book in the Carnage series without blubbering?!?!
I absolutely loved The Letters, it compliments the series perfectly & boy does it throw a few twists in that make you question the conclusions you've come to at the end of the previous 3 books!!!
Lesley Jones you know how to grab a girls heart & pull it in every direction!!!

I'm so happy that I could read this cause I really love this series and it makes me sad that is ending.
I just love Cam, the way he accepts and loves her unconditionally and puts on with all her shitz.
Wooow I loved this one as much as the other one's , the end it really surprised me cause I reeeeallyyy thought it was Sean's child and not Rocco's boy.

I am a Carnage addict and keep coming back for more, even though I know I'm going to cry EVERY SINGLE TIME, because Lesley Jones is such a great writer that I feel like I KNOW these people. It was a great wrap-up to the series...but I still want MORE!

When I found out that the 'The Letters' was to be released, I'm sure like all Carnage fans, you were as thrilled as me to read this highly anticipated novella. This is about what Sean McCarthy wrote to Georgia during the separation and them rekindling their lifelong romance. Written from a dual point of view was an added plus for me.
Carnage followers will be fully aware that Georgia had carried around a crate full of letters and effects of her first husband, Sean, for many years. However, she’s never been able to read them until now. It still causes her great pain, especially with all the guilt she has had to live with after all these years. Georgia loves her husband Cameron deeply and their four children but part of her still loves the family she lost.
“Kitten?”
“Thank you.”
“For what, baby?”
“For all of this. This life, our home, the chaos, our children. Bum-sniffing dogs. For all of it. Thank you for this second chance.”
Sean’s letters stirred the same sentiments I had felt when reading Carnage. It is such an emotionally charged story that made me feel the sadness all over again. Don’t be fooled though, there are some laugh out moments as you would expect from Georgia and of course, Jimmie and Ashley had me coming apart at the seams…scenes and teary-eyed. Pun intended! Although the story shows how Georgia eventually musters up her strength to read 'The Letters', her grief shattered me. How far she has come and what she has with Cameron… this man couldn't be any hotter, kept me riveted to the pages. I loved the glimpses we got of their four children, two boys and two girls. They are amazingly well-developed characters, and most definitely have sparks of their mother and father thrown in.
“I love you, Kitten. Please, don’t ever be in any doubt about that. Not even for a second.”
The reading of The Letters also brought home to me how after all those years, Cameron was so shaken to the core after falling for Georgia and ultimately, watching her go back to Maca. I was never team Sean or team Cameron since I loved them both. I could never quite choose despite there being times when I would have gladly throttled Sean.
“Oh, Sean, life was so unfair to us, babe. Can you see me now? Are you watching me? I hope you’re happy for me. I hope I’ve made you proud.”
I struggled to put my Kindle down and read it at every opportunity I could get… even while trying to cook a family meal! Lesley’s writing never fails to capture my attention. Her amazing style has everything I look for in a good read. She simply manages to affect me in such a way that I’m either chuckling gleefully, balling my eyes out or fanning myself in the sizzling scenes. I thoroughly enjoyed the playlist attached to this book, too. The tracks are diverse but truly poignant for every part of the closing chapter for Georgia only making me gasp a bit at the end. As always, five well deserved stars Ms Jones for another incredible story. I look forward to what comes next. Since this novella is a marvellous compliment to the series, I highly recommend all you Carnage lovers putting it on your TBR. And to finish off, here is one last quote:

Reading "The Letters" was like meeting up with family members after not seeing them for a while.
It was like welcoming old friends back into my house.
Once again I welcomed Georgia, Cam, their children and Georgia's family back into my life.
I laughed, cried, sniffed, snorted, giggled and dropped my mouth in shock with what Lesley Jones has written about in this book.
The Letters within the book broke my heart but they also provided a deeper understanding of the emotions that were experienced by the people involved.
Even those narrating the story were able to provide a further understanding of how they felt during certain incidents that had hapened during Carnage and Carnage 2.
Throughout the book there was a huge amount of love, heartbreak and passion - all that we naturally expect to come from the mind of our esteemed writer. She did not let us down. It was all there aplenty. Lesley, once again has given her readers a book that they do not want to put down. A book that the reader does not want to end.
You may ask - What was in those letters that were hidden away in a box for 16 years?
Will these letters change the love that Georgia has for Sean?
Will they bring further heartache to Georgia or will they heal her despair?
How will Cam react to these letter?
What secrets will come forth?

Damn, Lesley Jones took me by surprise with this book. I expected to bawl through the entire thing, and although there were many times I teared up it wasn't as bad as I anticipated. Of course I needed chocolate and wine but that goes without saying when you read her novels. ;)
So I've always been team Sean, I thought Georgia and him belonged together, I thought they were soul mates. Well this book made me fall hard for Cam. It's not that I didn't like him before because I really did but dare I say I think now Georgia and Cam were meant to be and belong together. Ahhhh...I don't know, I'm torn.
"We'd taken a long and winding road, with unimaginable loss and heartbreak along the way, to get to each other, but we got here."
We get a lot more of Cam and Georgia than I thought we would in this book but I'm glad. I'm glad we saw how Sean was feeling through his words in the letters to G, but I'm also glad we saw how they affected Georgia and Cam.
Lesley always writes with passion and meaning she has a realness in her writing that makes you feel like you're living it. I loved this book and the way it made me feel. There was also a scene that was a laugh out loud moment for me. It is between Georgia, Jimmie, and Ashley and as I was reading it I took a sip of wine and spit it out everywhere.
Lesley has done it again with her words, she has evoked many feelings in me. I am blown away with how much I loved this book but also, Georgia and Cam together.
"I thought you and Maca had an epic love story, but you and Cam, that's just... I don't even know what to say, George. You're like magnets or something."

I've learned to expect a few things from
Lesley Jones' books... First, I always find myself immediately immersed in her characters world - I feel like the quiet friend in the corner soaking it all up. Second, I will FEEL all the emotions.. Laugh so hard I snort laugh and feel pain and loss so intensely tears will stream down my cheeks. Third, she will get me at least once and usually two or three times with twists that can only be described as WTF moments, but at the same time these moments make the story that much more interesting.
Did The Letters have all those things? YES!! It felt like slipping on comfy slippers as I slid back into the Carnage world with all the characters I've grown to love like family. And emotions? Yes, there were tears, but my favourite were from laughing! This book had some of the funniest scenes I've ever read in Lesley's books. And finally, holy crap she threw in a few curves that I definitely did not see coming!
If you have ridden the Carnage train this far, you simply must take this journey with Georgia, Cam, Sean, Marley and her fabulous friends, Ash and Jimmie. Get the glass of wine, the box of tissues and maybe the Depends for those funny scenes and dive into The Letters.

I received an ARC of The Letters in exchange for an honest review....and that's what this is. My honest review. So please don't hate me! Let me preface this by saying that I absolutely adore Lesley Jones and every book she has written. The Carnage books gutted me and put me back together. Marley was such a breath of fresh air that gave some insight into a very rough period. That's what I thought The Letters would also be about. I was expecting to read about the letters that were written during that 4 year span of heartbreak. Some of it was but not quite what I was expecting. You get a glimpse into the life of Georgia and Cam while she is going through the crate that contains the letters. It's nice to see that they are "normal" and have the same types of feelings and fears as you and I. I was just hoping for more of the actual letters themselves.
