Since the dawn of time (okay, the 1960s), TV has been obsessed with vampires. But what if all those brooding bloodsuckers weren’t just entertainment? What if they were put on our screens for a reason?
Mathilda Sinclair didn’t ask for any of this. She’s cursed with venomous blood that seduces vampires at the mere sniff of her and turns them into mortals (or occasionally goo). Which, frankly, is already a lot. But now she's landed the lead role in a brand new, prime time TV show and, to her lack of surprise, the set is crawling with them.
They’re hot. They’re dramatic. And they won’t stop going on about some ancient prophecy in which Mathilda plays a starring role. Something about saving the world, and her being the only one who can do it. Not to mention the fact that the extras keep disappearing...
Enter Elliott Rigg. Ninety-something, immortal, and immune to her lethal charm. He’s the only vampire who can resist her. The only one who can kill her with a single bite. Naturally, she’s kind of into him.
Can Elliott be the reluctant hero Mathilda needs? Can Mathilda handle falling for the one guy who could literally drain her dry? And can they stop the apocalypse with a quickie in his grandmother’s cellar?
A wickedly funny, irreverent paranormal romance from Olivia Malo packed with fangs, forbidden lust, and every TV vampire cliché you’ve ever loved.
ARC Review- Only One Drop centers on Mathilda “Tilly” Sinclair, a 28 year old English actress who lands the leading role (after another actress mysteriously drops out) of a new vampire tv series based on a top selling novel Only One Drop. Coincidentally Tilly is not only an actress but she’s also cursed. Her curse involves vampires being irresistibly drawn to her, but unfortunately for them if they try to sink their fangs into her they turn into a pile of goo or back into humans. This curse makes things a little sticky, in more ways than one, when she begins to fall in love with one of her co-stars and real life vampire Elliot Rigg. Will Tilly and Elliot find a way to make things work or will they die trying? Coming into this book I expected there to be a few laughs here and there, but I was pleasantly surprised to find myself frequently giggling like a school girl who heard her first dirty joke and also laughing out loud with a few snorts included. The story within the story was ingenious, the character ensemble was quirky, and the humor was perfection. Author Olivia Malo did not hold back in creating, and 100% delivering a fresh, creative, and fun new take on paranormal romance! The book was a raucous and rowdy romp in all the best ways! If you enjoy quick-witted banter, all the best lovable vampire cliches, with a side of romance this story is for you. Hands down immortally recommend!
This is probably the most fun I had reading a book all year! i know thats a big statement but honestly Only One Drop by Olivia Malo lives up to my daring statment!
The concept of Only One Drop was so unique and I never had read anything like this before.
The book ironically centers around a tv show about vampires, and all the cast happen to be vampires! SO BRILLANT
The Chapters are written as episodes. The whole thing is just so CLEVER!
I DEVOURED this up so quickly, and honestly I never wanted it to end!
I can't expressed how obbssesed I am with Only One Drop!
I highly reccommend you add Only One Drop to your TBR!
Really fun book that hits the ground running at the start and never stops! Clever concept about a tv show about vampires that happens to have a cast full of real vampires-characters that come with more drama than you'll find on a reality show. ;D Plus, it's also a romance filled with fate, curses, and swoons. Recommend for a quick, fun read!
I enjoyed how the story read following all the chapters as we’re watching the episode. It was an interesting twist on vampires with the MFC that I wasn’t expecting. It was a fun read
