An indie author who writes romantic suspense—a mix of clean, wholesome yet dark romances.
I’m not here just to sell books. I’m here to connect with the part of me that loves to write and express through words.
Creating fictional worlds of my own, on my own—writing, editing words, making covers, everything by myself. I'm juggling between studies and books, trying to maintain a balance, sometimes stumbling but not stopping.
So, here I am writing for people who want to be heard, who think they are alone but they aren’t. For people who want to break free from the chains of their past, for those who want to embrace their present, and for those who want to not panic about the future and live in the moment.

What stood out to me most was the slow-burn chemistry and the way Ali handles the emotional undercurrents. The family and business stakes add a layer of suspense that elevates the story beyond a typical romance. Jaxon’s internal journey—from reckless billionaire to someone who truly wants to love and be loved—is satisfying. And Evelyn’s dual identity (fearless professional vs. hiding something) adds texture. On the other hand, there were a few pacing hiccups. At times the story stalled in between the major turning points and some plot threads felt slightly under-explored (for example, some of the business side intrigue felt like it had more potential than what was delivered). The dialogue occasionally leaned toward melodrama, though in a way that still fit the genre’s tone. In short: If you enjoy romantic suspense with layered characters, emotional stakes, and a backdrop of secrets and redemption, this is a strong pick. It might not hit the absolute highest mark because of the slight dips, but overall it's engaging, heartfelt, and satisfying.
I GOT SELECTED AS AN ARC READERRRR OMDDDD!! Thank you to Yasha Ali for choosing me as arc reader! I probably won’t start it till later bc I have so much work I need to do but I’m so excited! Xx
I received this as an ARC, my first ever ARC !! I just wanted to thank the author for that ! I am also not going to rate it on here, I still recommend it to people who like dark romance but more YA)
Now about the book. I really wanted to like it 😭. I actually liked some dialogues, especially Jaxon’s. He was really cute. There was also some action which I liked. Now, what I didn’t like.. I just wanted to say that I am absolutely not an expert, I don’t write books or anything, this is just my opinion ! I wasn’t a fan of the writing. To me, the writing is half of what will determine how much I enjoy a book, and there were a lot of little things that made me not enjoy it 🥲 like how there were too many “…”, too much stuttering (like “i-i” or “h-her”) and too many “!” which made some dialogues way more dramatic than I feel like they should’ve been (?) Some dialogues were also meant to be said calmly and they somehow ended with an explanation point, for instance “”let’s go home!” i said slowly[…]”. It could be because of that that some actual explamatry sentences in dialogues ended with “!!” or even “!!!”. Some dialogues were also too rushed for my liking which made the whole scene pretty rushed. To me, “Jaxon sir” and “Evelyn ma’am” sound really unnatural 😭
🌸 ARC Review – In case you break free by Yasha Ali🌸 (read: Oct 3–4, 2025) SPOILER-FREE! okay so first of all — a HUGE thank you to the author, yasha ali, for letting me read this book early 🥹💌 she was genuinely so sweet and down-to-earth when i reached out. i requested the arc literally the same day i finished it (like… yes, i devoured it 😭), and she was so kind in sending it over. you can tell she really cares about her readers, and that means a lot as an indie author. she’s one of those authors you just want to support because she radiates kindness 🫶 now, let’s get into the book itself 👀 💕 the premise + setup this book is a second chance romance, with a bit of childhood crush energy — and i actually love that trope! it has so much potential for nostalgia and emotional payoff. BUT here, we dive straight into the intensity. like, from page one, our mmc is already obsessed with the fmc. it’s not the kind of slow-burn pining you’d expect — it’s instant, borderline obsession, and not in the dark romance sense either. so just a heads up if you’re going in expecting a slow build: it’s definitely insta-love. i personally don’t mind fast emotional connections, but this one felt a bit too immediate. there wasn’t enough setup for why he felt that strongly right away. i think some readers will love the intensity, and others might find it a bit much. 🧠 the world & pacing the story setting and overall idea were so good. the premise was something i really wanted to fall in love with — and honestly, i still do love the concept. but reading it, i did get a little lost at times 😭 there were moments where we jumped from one thing to another without much transition. sometimes it felt like we were getting info dumps or random thoughts that didn’t fully connect to the main plot. it wasn’t exactly multiple POVs, but it read that way sometimes. some parts honestly reminded me of those viral Wattpad or BookTok stories — dramatic, exaggerated, and very dialogue-heavy. not necessarily bad (i actually love some of that energy 😭), but it made the tone feel a little inconsistent at times. ✍️ writing style yasha’s writing style itself is actually beautiful. her descriptions, her phrasing — there’s something really soft and emotional about it. she knows how to make you feel something, even if you’re confused about the why 😭 i truly think she’d thrive in historical romance or fantasy romance, where her poetic writing could really shine. BUT… i need to mention the exclamation marks. omg. every. single. sentence. has. one. 😭 like even when the character whispers something quietly, there’s an exclamation mark at the end. it became kind of funny after a while, but it definitely stood out. editing-wise though — this was so much better than what i’d heard about her debut. i saw only a few small mistakes (missing punctuation or words), but nothing major or distracting. it was actually impressive, especially for an indie ARC. 💞 the characters okay, so i did like the main couple. sometimes they were cringey (like, wattpad-level cringey 😭), but other times they were actually adorable. their chemistry came through, even when the dialogue felt a little forced. some side characters though… i was lost 😭 they’d pop in, say something random, and disappear again. i think maybe there were too many minor characters who didn’t have clear roles or voices. also, a few emotional reactions from the MCs felt over-the-top. like, someone would say something small, and suddenly it’s a whole meltdown 😭 they’d take out their anger on each other or random people instead of addressing the real problem. i think that’s something yasha could work on — giving more reason behind emotions instead of jumping between them too fast. and i HAVE to talk about one specific backstory moment (no spoilers, don’t worry 😇). it’s supposed to be this huge emotional turning point for the fmc, but it just… didn’t work for me. it could’ve been something completely different and made so much more sense. i think other readers will probably feel the same confusion there. 😶🌫️ the ending the ending didn’t hit how i wanted it to 😭 it wrapped up quickly, and the forgiveness at the end didn’t sit right with me. certain characters did NOT deserve forgiveness after what they did. it felt like that message got brushed over too easily, and i wish it had been handled with more weight. 🌺 overall thoughts yasha ali is so talented. her emotional writing is raw and vivid — you can feel what her characters feel. she just needs a little more balance between emotional intensity and logical flow. once she nails that pacing and consistency, she’s going to be unstoppable 💫 and one last thing — the cover?? STUNNING 😍 and the fact that she does everything herself (designing, editing, publishing, etc.)?? like queen behavior. it’s honestly inspiring for indie readers and writers alike. so yeah, this book isn’t perfect — it’s messy, dramatic, confusing at times — but it’s full of heart, and that matters to me. 🩷 ⭐️ rating: 3.5/5 (rounded up because i see her potential and i know she’s going to grow so much as an author 💪)
🤭FIRST THOUGHTS AFTER READ: detailed spoiler-free review coming out soon! spoiler one will come a little later when more people read the book! 💕 special thanks to Yasha Ali for being kind enough to offer me an eARC of the book! what i will say for now is that i definitely see her as an amazing author, with many possible famous books in the future, BUT this book just wasn't meant for me unfortunately 😢. i think that her writing would be PERFECT for historical romance books and even romantasy if there is a better pacing. the story would sometimes go in all different directions and was def confusing. that said i LOVED the couple dynamic and the setting! she is good at describing emotions but a bit lacking at descriptions of past that led to those moments. i would recommend getting the book a bit more polished bc i truly loved Jaxon and Evelyn! 🫶
🫦QUOTES: "Jaxon, you didn’t just save me from (spoilers for characters so imma not write!), you saved me from myself, the one who thought there was no hope, no way out of that hell, you proved me wrong, every single time you fought back for me, no matter how many times I pushed you away, but you fought your way back into my life again and again.”
“Again.” “No.” “Please.” “Honey.” “Oh god.” “What?” “Just call me anything, I’ll be yours.” “Honey, honey, honey.”
“It’s worth nothing in front of you, it’s a privilege for the bracelet that you’re going to make it look worthy by wearing it.”
📚UPDATES (thoughts on WRITING): chapter 35-> im going to be 100% honest and say that it was def insta love and i keep losing myself in the story (by that i mean 27372927918749448292 things are happening at once and then in next chapter we literally just forget abt all of that). the author is amazing and i love her writing but i dont think this book is her best work! chapter 20-> i definitely think that the story is missing some parts, like the author loved the idea and the couple in her head more then she wrote about it on paper. it is her debut series so i cant be very harsh, but to be a 5 star ⭐ read its def missing THAT feeling chapter 3-> i LOVE the writing style, it's not complicated nor plain! also i love the settinggg
🤭UPDATES (thoughts on STORY): chapter 17-> that was... definitely not what i thought would happen (yasha what are you doing to me 😭😭) chapter 1-> yall that man 😏🥵🫣🤭 all i have to say for now 🫠
⋆˚꩜。𐔌՞. .՞𐦯⋆. 𐙚 ˚ 💕ARC PRE-READ-> am i right now genuinely SHOCKED and so flattered i got chosen to receive this arc? YES. i was like "me? 🫣!" OH MAY GADD! 👹 i can't wait to read this! i followed Yasha (the amazing author 💞💞) and her writing journey for MONTHS now. those teasers? 👌 PERFECT. she is so so so nice and props to her for engaging with her audience and fans and doing this arc giveaway! 👏👏 i'm a fan already. i know i always post energetic and full on spoilers and plot twist descriptions in updates and reviews but today NO SPOILERS (i will write that one dont worry) and yas 🤭 let's get started!
modeziree speaks so. long story short there is no way dark romance is the genre for me💔 partially because im so cheesy and unserious bc why was a laughing??? umm. so ive actually dreaded writing this review because i had no idea how to make my thoughts even slightly coherent.. so i'll keep it short and simple.
obviously this was my first ever arc so i was very excited to read it but there were a couple things i didnt like.
pros -obviously i want to commend the author for writing and publishing a book!! like thats amazing, i could never😭 i also want to make it clear that im separating the author from the story !! Yasha is genuinely so sweet, this book just wasn't for me -the romance was really sweet, esp towards the end🤭 -jaxon was so protective of her and it was SO adorable !!
cons -it felt like there were specific plot points instead of a storyline.. like there were specific scenes that were planned out which caused other parts to feel like fillers and the story to be choppy -the characters were grown but didnt exactly act like it..? like the mmc squealed into a pillow multiple times. multiple times. -i feel like things could have been explained a tad better?? obviously this is partially my bad bc i didnt read book 2... but i feel like characters should still be explained. like random people would pop up without an introduction and it was quite confusing🫤 there were also SO many names and i genuinely could not keep track. -i didn't really understand how they started liking eachother??? hoping i just missed something...
ttyl,
-modeziree !
༘⋆. ೃ⁀➷ pre-read MY FIRST EVER ARC!?! SCREAMING WHAAAT! im genuinely so excited for this omgoodness..! + this is my first venture into the dark romance genre… lowk nervy but i think it’ll be good! also, thank you SO much to Yasha Ali for sending me the arc!
*ARC REVIEW* _ A perfect light romance with a beautiful romantic story. The book is perfect small grab for anytime when you're craving a quick book with romance and less to no spice. I would highly recommend beginners or anyone who's new to romance genre to read this book cause the narrative is also handy for new readers. If you want to avoid spoilers, don't read the next part of my review. _ _ _ _ _ First, let's talk about the mmc of our book,Jaxon Kai,a millionaire with a soft for heart for his college sweetheart. If you love your man obsessed, sweet, patient and caring also funny with you, he's the man of your dreams 🤭. Also I loved how he didn't stick on any ego and was always loving Evelyn no matter what. And the part where he went London to watch her was os goddamn cute. _ Second, the fmc of our book, Evelyn Miller, had a great character build up in the book. First I thought she was a playgirl type but when I realized whyy she had to leave Jaxon, I felt sb for her. And I absolutely hate how her mother treated her but she got her happy ending and I'm happy for that. _ Overall, I would rate this book a solid 3.5 stars, this will be a great book for our young and new readers.
Oh, this was a tough read to get through, not because of the writing style but because of the plot, character, and everything in general.
The style, story, and underdeveloped characters reminded me a lot of the books that were on Wattpad. The writing style was easy to read, but at times, there was an overuse of ellipses in between dialogues, which disrupted the flow of the conversation or monologue.
Honestly, this story could have been something great, especially with the premise of the FMC being a journalist and standing for what was right. At one point, the character was depicted as a feminist, and then suddenly, when the MMC was introduced, she lost all her ' I can do this by myself ' attitude. And easily agreed to everything the MMC was saying. Coming to the plot, I didn't get what the story was even about. Like, okay, it was about putting yourself first/self-love ( which was explained in a lengthy letter), but if she hadn't written this letter, I don't think there would've been a point to this novel.
There were many times I felt like dnf'ing the book, but I was in the hopes that it would get better. The romance was childish, and I felt that the FMC and MMC would've been better off not being together. One thing I will say is that I am very happy that the author refrained from putting unnecessary smut into her book and stood by her decision.
The author had a good message and intention, but unfortunately, the execution wasn't that great. She has a lot of potential, and I do wish her the very best for her future books! Thank you for the free copy in return for a review!
In Case You Break Free is a deeply moving story of two wounded souls learning to love and heal in the safety of each other’s presence. Evelyn and Jaxon’s journey is tender, emotional, and crafted with a raw honesty that makes every moment feel real. The way Jaxon grows, reflects, and offers unwavering love creates a soft space for Evelyn to finally rise beyond her past. The final chapters, filled with family reunions, forgiveness, and new beginnings bring a heartwarming sense of closure and hope. A touching, unforgettable read that beautifully balances emotional darkness with the light of healing, love, and second chances.
I was chosen to read this book and i am thankful for Yasha Ali. My first impression of the book was this look interesting and Jaxons description made me want to read the book. I Read the first page a few days back and I was skeptical about the book. The writing style reminded me of Wattpad and I needed time to come back again (I was also reading another book I wanted to finish before starting this one). I started reading it yesterday and I was hooked. The story is a second chance, yarning, morally grey and possessive MMC.
THE FMC is a strong independent woman who wants to speak her mind and help others. Some of The side characters in the story was a bit confusing for me. I thought the character sebatian was jaxons brother but travis and Marcus called him uncle 😅 sometimes when the character wasn’t there, they would talk so there wasn’t any pre description. I wished there were like “Jaxon saw me from across the room and came over to me” and the he talked (hope it makes sense).
I LOVED EVELYNS friendsship with hazel, they were so sweet and was there for each other no matter what. I loved Jaxon and Evelyn together, they were cute in their own way and cringe. The way Jaxon was ALWAYS there for her every time she needed him. He was a bit rude in the start but he made me like him better. I loved that Evelyn was open about things that bothered her but I wish that Jaxon was the same. Jaxon crossed a lot of lines Every time Evelyn wasn’t ready to talk. Every time Evelyn tried to get him to open op, he shut down and yelled at her. That wasn’t fair. She deserved better.
PS I was rooting for daisy and Marcus but he good married to someone else 😭
Overall i liked the story but it needs a lot of improvement in the writing and how things are described. Congrats to Yasha Ali for creating this book and All the best for the upcoming books 🫶🏽
Let me be honest, when I got to the first chapter of this book I thought it was a mess, I had to read it all twice to understand what exactly was going on and who was who, was the she a he or he a she, some errors I presume but as I got to the next chapter the book got me hooked.
"In Case You Break Free" by Yasha Ali is a story about breaking free but free from what? Jaxon a man madly inlove but what happens when his love leaves him for another man? Will his love consume him? Will he go for revenge? Will he be filled with hatred? Or would he move on and heal? Love, love is a strong word right? And the things we do for love? All red flags seem green when you truly love someone, trust me I got free from that chain when I finally opened my eyes wide.
Evelyn, the woman who left Jaxon for another man. What was her story? Why did she leave? Was she a gold digger? Was she only after money or was there a totally different side of this story?
Any of you been through abuse? Be it verbal or physical or mental? Abuses have ways of making you feel like you are actually the worthless one, the one who did it all wrong.
What happens when Evelyn and Jaxon collide again? Will Evelyn be able to tell Jaxon her truth? If she did will he believe her? Would he be there for her? Can he be her confidant?
The entire book is wholesome, and the growth of the story is commendable, and like I said the book keeps you on hook, I'd recommend it but if you do read the book please make past chapter 1 and you'll love it.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ This story follows Jaxon Kai and Evelyn Miller, former lovers who parted ways due to Jaxon's playboy nature. After a heartbreak, Evelyn moves to London, only to return to town and find Jaxon transformed - and determined to win her back. But can he overcome her past traumas and her doubts about his character?
✨️𝙈𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨 Firstly, I definitely have to appreciate the author for how delicately she explored the sensitive topics.
Jaxon and Evelyn's chemistry is undeniable, but their interactions sometimes feel forced and unnatural. The number of the side characters is overwhelming, with them popping up out of nowhere and dropping a few dialogues then you don't see them for the next five chapters. I'm relieved that Daisy dodged a potentially problematic relationship with Marcus, given their significant age gap.
The writing shows promise, but it's marred by grammatical errors, fragmented dialogues(none of the characters could speak without stuttering), and frustrating inconsistencies in POV (eg. the chapter would be in Jaxon's POV, but when you are reading it would be in Evelyn's POV). With some editorial TLC, this story could really shine because it has so much potential. And I definitely liked this book better than the first one.☺️
I adoreeeeee this book, I love it. This author is absolutely amazing and everytime she brings out a new trope with new plot, setting and characters and I love her for that!!!!!!!😍❤️
Jaxon Kai, ufff, Evelyn Miller, a rough and tough woman, and guess what he is a biker and she is a journalist!!!!! This man is obsessed with her, though story might seem like it's fast paced but if you have read the first book it won't feel like that because their story starts and goes on from that one.
The girls night was fun but that pregnancy scene, I was so happy for Evelyn!!!! A few scene of Hazel and Tristan were also wholesome and don't even get me started on the men of this series they are literally so funny when they are together!!!😭😭😭😭💕✨
I hope you keep writing more and more amazing stories like this and the first one and become a best selling author!!!!😭❤️
Stop scrolling right now, because this book is pure, addictive, romantic suspense perfection. In case you break free is a high-stakes emotional rollercoaster where Evelyn's fight to escape the chains of her dark past is tackled with raw intensity. From the very start, the atmosphere is charged, making it completely impossible to put down. Evelyn's journey to strength is inspiring, but it's her dynamic with Jaxon Kai—the broody, morally gray protector—that sets the pages on fire. Their chemistry is everything, and watching them fight against landmines from the past just ramps up the tension to an unbearable level. Honestly, the plot twists in the last few chapters gave me major whiplash.
If you love books with complex characters, intense action, and a hard-won, transforming love story, you need to read this immediately. Prepare for zero sleep and a major book hangover!
First, a huge thank you to the author for letting me review In Case You Break Free- i really appreciate the opportunity! Now, onto the review! 📚
Just like the first book, the cover is STUNNING. I love the yellow, Evelyn’s favourite colour- such an amazing detail!!
My favourite part of this book is when Evelyn and Jaxon babysit Hazel and Tristan’s kids and bake together. It’s such a heartwarming scene that made me smile! It was so lovely to return to the charming town of Floralivia! Also, the friendship between Hazel and Evelyn is so sweet, they always support and help each other! 🥹
Some of the themes were too violent for my usual reading taste as I don’t normally read dark romance, however the story kept me hooked from start to finish!
Overall, In Case You Break Free is a gripping suspense novel and I can’t wait to see what happens next in Floralivia!
Thank you!📚🤩

This story had promise in the start. But then Jaxon went from a dominant sexy male to a immature child who did childish things like kicking his legs up in the air cause he makes her happy 🙄 like what are you 10 and your crush checked yes 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ you are a grown a$$ man show your excitement by throwing her over your shoulder and marching her back to the bedroom 🤣🤣 and on the bedroom note there is no and I mean no spice. Barely even kissing. They’ve been married for weeks and I don’t even think they’ve done it with the way Evenly acts around him and she her self needs to grow up. The storyline bounces all over and there is no clear storyline it’s going with it’s just random things thrown in to make a book.
An engaging premise with plenty of emotional drama and romantic tension. Yasha Ali’s writing is smooth and cinematic, making it easy to visualize each scene. However, the romance feels a bit too polished and idealized, more like a Wattpad-style fantasy than something deeply grounded in reality. The emotions sometimes feel manufactured, and the characters don’t fully come alive. Still, it’s an enjoyable, escapist read — perfect for anyone who loves young love, big emotions, and the thrill of second chances.
Wow I loved Jaxon and Evelyn story! The author writing it’s so good you can clearly visualize what’s happening in the book. Like the first book this one doesn’t disappoint with the plot or the suspense it was definitely an emotionally roller coaster like hello the last chapters were a lot to keep up. The chemistry between Jaxon and Evelyn is insanely good I honestly could feel all the tension between them. I really enjoyed this book and I definitely recommend it!
