Jonathan’s my best friend’s brother When I first met him, He was infuriating and impossible. He would strut around in his cowboy boots and hat like he owned the world. But after getting to know him, he started to grow on me in a big way. I could see a future with him but could I really be cowboy’s wife and leaving my life in Austin behind?
Jonathan
Flustering Marnie is my favorite pastime. One smart comment and she’s rolling her eyes, ready to tear me a new one—cutest thing I’ve ever seen. I don’t fit into her shiny country club life, but here’s the I don’t care about fitting in. I just want her. Now, I just have to talk her into giving us a chance.
Chasing The One is a novella sequel to Chasing The Buckle. Triggers are sex, profanity, and cancer (parental). Recommended to be read in order. Previously published as a reader magnet.
I'm a Florida girl, born and raised. I live in a small town in central Florida with my hubby, my son, and our dog, Zoey. When I'm not writing (or reading a good book), I'm spending time with family.
I received an Advanced Reader Copy and am voluntarily reviewing it. We are back with our cowboys who are retired and trying to settle down. If you read the first book in this series, you know some of these characters. Marnie is Whitney's best friend. They lived together during college and after in Austin. Jonathan, Whitney's brother, stayed with them while recovering after an accident while competing at the rodeo. Jonathan and Marnie got to know each other well. Marnie knew that Jonathan was not someone her family would accept, and she did not know if she could handle a long-distance relationship. Why even start something that they know is not going anywhere? That’s what Marnie thought and despite her feelings for Jonathan, she was going to stick to it.
Later, Jonathan and Whitney found out that their dad was sick and needed very expensive treatments. Jonathan did the only thing he could do. He was going back on the rodeo circuit to compete. Of course, Whitney’s husband, Dawson, refused to be left out. With both Dawson and Jonathan competing, they could get the money faster. Guess who comes to see them at their first competition. You guessed it. Marnie could not miss the opportunity. Jonathan takes the chance he has been waiting for. Marnie is finally in place to realize what her parents want for her might not be what is best for her. Will Jonathan win big this time?
This was a short, sweet love story. This is the first time I've read a romance by this author, and I must commend her on her excellent writing. I look forward to reading more of her romances. I liked the characters and felt that the story was real to life. I highly recommend this book to other romance readers.
Chasing Love is book 1.5 of the Chasing Love Series.
We finally get to see Marnie and Jonathan's story. We saw them have a bit of a flirtation in the first book of the series, but now we finally get to see what is actually going on between them.
As the story progresses you see how much each of them loves the other, but Marnie does have a valid reason for not fully committing to a relationship. A lot of long distance relationships don't last and she doesn't want to start something that might be bound to fail in the first place. However, both of their hearts are already engaged and she just seemed to cause more pain than not. I was glad Jonathan wasn't easily going to give up. He stood for what he wanted and let her know he was always going to fight for their future together. He was adorable with his devotion and he was perfection.
I thoroughly enjoyed this short and sweet book by Britney! The dynamics and connections in the book spoke for themselves and the words flew off the page. I devoured this book. Highly recommend.
Absolutely loved this story and related so much with the MFC about being terrified of taking risks after heartbreak. Such a heartwarming story. Definitely plan on reading more from this author.
