What would you do if your everyday life working a dead end job to survive was interrupted, but not by sickness or disaster, but instead by an accident that crossed dimensions to give you odd powers and a whole mess of secrets to keep? Especially if that accident also results in you still having to work a day job to keep a roof over your head?

Liam Cosgrave has been wrestling with that whole situation for weeks now. An accident summoned him to another world and his own need to help people bonded him to a pair of young sorceresses, but not as a hero to save the world. Instead, he's basically their bodyguard and friend. All while still having to load trucks during the week to pay rent.

He's gotten used to the strange power that the System (an extra-dimensional supercomputer who manages the transit between dimensions) and earned the love of a good woman who is also a miniature lamia bent on causing as much trouble as possible. He's even getting closer to her friend, the wolf kin fourth princess of the realm, Rieka Coldeye, who loves headpats more than anything but can't admit it in public. However, in a world as chaotic as theirs, peace is not something that will last for long.

New missions arise, new threats emerge, and through it all they have to continue to do work on the side to earn the funds necessary to continue their study and pay the magical costs to summon Liam to them. Even being young noblewomen does not exclude them from the cost of magic in this world, so they have to salvage every bit they can from the ruins they explore, monsters they hunt, and bandits they exterminate.

To some, what Liam does is just a job. But this world is rapidly growing to include all that he loves, despite being forced to return to Earth regularly. How will he balance things out?

------------

*** Summoned by Monster Girls is a portal-fantasy, LITRPG, slice-of-life, men's romance, progression fantasy about a man who is summoned to another world, but still has to maintain a day job back on Earth to keep a roof over his head. It doesn't shy away from combat, blood, and mental issues, but also includes simply sweet things like an overly-cuddly miniature lamia and wolf-girl who loves head-pats. Along with plenty of romance and other interesting monster girls.

This book was a strong follow-up to the first book in the series. I like the MC, and while the lamia woman does nothing for me due to her body (not into lamia), I've enjoyed the personalities of the two women that summoned the MC.

The MC and ladies make enough money to be able to by a dimensional bag so they can carry more, allowing them to finally enter in the possibly human ruins they discovered in book 1. This takes up the 2nd half of the book, and it gets intense at times. That adventure leaves some unanswered questions that may be explained in book 3, as well as the possibility of a third woman being added to the group summoning.

I very much look forward to book 3.

Mostly interesting, but started getting wordy towards the end

The MC continues to level by going on missions with his 2 summoner GF's. Back on earth, he trains with his caseworker's boss and eventually quits his dead end job, sadly without harming his wanker boss. Most 9f the booook was about an extended mission that endend up being a dungeon dive in hidden ruins. There they found monsters, guardians, ancient tech, artifacts and riches.

The world building is quite good and the storyline interesting. The writing did start getting bogged down in day to day details rather than advancing the story.

Summoned Awesomeness

Another great series by M. Tress. Salvaging Shadows is book two of Summoned by Monster Girls showcasing a new vibrant world and real-world issues; like a horrible boss, money problems, and relationship worries. But, as a Traveler, Liam and his girls work to overcome all obstacles together.

Very very good story

Loved it characters are while developed and entertaining. Just wish there was more stuff with Liam be able to shift into other things like more out there stuff like leaning to have more things like wings. Also love that the girls are willing to help with him learning not just worrying about just there training. Very well written

Excellent Story

Characters who grow and develop, a consistent world building and emotional engagement. All important factors in a good story.

The MC isn't overpowered, the ladies grow over time. Looking forward to seeing where the series goes.

Kinda slow??

It felt like the story progressed very little in the middle and end but felt like it was 5 steps out of 100. Honestly you could read the last 5 chapters and get everything in the story. It felt pretty filler, the story is still good though.

Great read

Great read. Action and spice. The story is the main emphasis in this yarn. The spice is there bit secondary. Just the way I like it. Without the story the spice is just smut

An interesting twist to a building mystery

Definitely one to follow. Wish it moved faster at times but the idea is solid, especially with shapeshifting as the primary weapon. Can't wait for him to delve into the scary aspects of fantasy creatures(tyranids, zerg, dragons etc).

For the most part a pretty good book. I think there was a bit too much of the day to day stuff. It was like reading somebody’s diary. And not the juicy bits. But I did find the teenage boy sex fantasy scenes amusing.

Very good book

This is a fine fantasy harem adventure novel. It is well written and edited. I especially like the lamia. I anxiously await the author's next novel.

Fun book! Really adventurous, even more so than the first. I don’t typically read books with a lot of spicy content but I think this author executes it well. The tension builds gradually throughout the story and the ending is climactic. It was also done in a way that resonated with the primal/cave-man portion of my brain lol TLDR: it was hot. Hopefully there’s a third book on the way.

Also worth mentioning, this series is a very easy read. I really enjoy this author’s writing style. I read a lot of indie authors, and fluid, easy-to-read writing like this isn’t common. This is the first I’ve read from this author and I’m looking forward to reading more of his works
