Four-time RITA finalist, Scarlett Cole, is a contemporary romantic suspense / contemporary romance author (represented by Louise Fury at The Bent Agency) who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

A Forbidden Romance

This is another book in the Iron Outlaws MC Colorado Chapter. Catfish is the treasurer for the club and when money goes missing Wren comes into the picture to help. There’s many things special about Wren and Catfish is told this is a hands-off deal. Tell that to the guy who is in close quarters with a smart and beautiful person with killer hacking skills. With Wren’s skills they are laying low and it’s not an easy path for these two because trouble keeps coming.

This was a book that I wasn’t expecting but thoroughly enjoyed it. As with much of this author’s work she seems to always make her stories spell binding and this book was no different and I always look forward to her books.

Thank you for trusting me with your book and for giving me the opportunity to read it. Unfortunately, on this occasion I wasn’t able to fully connect with the story. I made it to chapter 6, but I felt that it didn’t quite draw me in as I had hoped.

This is entirely a personal experience as a reader, as everyone connects differently with stories and the themes they explore. I truly appreciate the work, creativity, and effort behind the book, even though this time it wasn’t the right fit for me.

I wish you great success with your work and with all the projects to come. 🤍📚

Wren is on the run. With their backup identities being alerted to someone following them, and the FBI pinging their old contacts, they know they need to be anywhere but where they are. Catfish, on the other hand, is struggling to figure out where the clubs money has disappeared to - and how to get it back - when the national president, King, offers the perfect solution. He'll lend them Wren's hacking talents where they can be protected by the club, far enough away from home to keep them safe and hidden. Only trouble continues to follow, and Catfish falls deeper for them as he tries to keep them safe.

It's been a hot minute since I read a book with a nonbinary lead and I was thrilled to go into this one and see how the author handled it. Usually the books in these series have a mix of soft moments, found family, high spice and danger to keep the ball moving. I was pleasantly surprised that this leaned really heavily into both of the characters discovering their own sexuality, gender identity, boundaries and comfort level as they grew together.

So much of the book focused on healthy communication, give-and-take and gender roles and how they can affect dysphoria, relationships and everything from sex to general intimacy that there were moments I simply marveled at the author placing this into an MC world. It was lovely and wholesome and sweet, even while they were trying to save Wren from danger, and find the missing money from their club. The balance was done so well, and so much honour was placed on letting Wren be Wren, that I savoured this novel in a way I didn't with the others in this series (they're all SO good too).

Overall, this was a great book in the series, and I can't wait to see what comes around with Jackal and Slade in the next!

I only made it a few chapters in and stopped reading. I loved this whole series until this book. Whatever pronouns someone wants to be referred by is fine with me, do what you want, however trying to relay it in written format, it becomes very confusing. After the fourth or fifth time having to go back and re-read a paragraph to determine if Wren was the person being referred to or his brothers as a collective group, I gave up.

Also, You can't say Wren is comfortable in their own skin in one breath, and then say they are in tears because they had sexual feelings for Catfish that made them feel feminine, which is upsetting because it caused Dysphoria. It's not dysphoria to feel feelings that belong to the sex you are assigned at birth, it's dysphoric when you feel not the way you are born. This is biology, but I'm sure I'll be called a transphobe for saying it out loud. I'm not, I don't care a person chooses to live, but I'm also not going to lie about it to save people's feelings.

This book was not for me.

This is book 6 in the Iron Outlaw Series. This book Follows Wren and River.

Wren is a hacker, they end up caught between the cartel and the FBI and have to run. Then they are placed with the Iron Outlaw Club. River has been assigned to watch over Wren. The club got hacked and need Wren to help uncover what happened. Of course the club president makes Wren off limits. When Wren gets threatened all the rules go out the window.

This book is so good! It was so well written for the character Wren. Wren is non-binary and you see Wren correcting people and teaching them what it is like to be around someone that is non-binary. I loved that River worked so hard to learn about Wren’s needs. Wren hadn’t ever had a support system that they could rely on and they got that with the club. It had me in tears. They received so much love.

The tension with River and Wren was great too. It was a bit forbidden, had forced proximity as well. Watching River learn and fall so hard for Wren was my favorite. Wren figuring out who they were and what they wanted had me crying. This book was just full of love and support!

Another great addition to the Iron Outlaws MC Colorado Chapter. Scarlett Cole attracted me to her writing by not sidestepping the tough issues. Her stories are relevant, to the point, and bring us a perspective I have yet to see from other authors.

Money is missing on Catfish’s watch; an outsider is brought in to fix the situation. Wren is a “no last name” hacker, and off limits. Smart, beautiful, confined spaces, and top shelf hacking skills Catfish is only so strong. Trouble does not let up, and nod Wren is in danger.

This story and couple are unique, as most are in this series. I enjoyed the layers and complexity of Wren’s character, and her painful past. A window into the world of non-binary people.

Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.

This is the sixth story in the series, and these do flow from one book to the next, so in my humble opinion, I do suggest reading them in order. Now, this is a bit different from what we normally get from the author, as she normally writes M/F stories. S. Cole is now diving into the LGBTQ+ category by giving us a nonbinary character. Wren uses they/them pronouns, and for Catfish this is something completely out of his element. BUT he feels a connection with them and decides to go at their speed and not push but makes his attraction known ... after a time. There is so much going on with this story, and I will warn you now, this is a bit of a slowburn, but it goes at a very nice pace. I give this 4 stars.

“but what if i call you my old half? because some of you and me makes me whole. or maybe you’re my old heart, because you keep mine beating.”

i’ve made this claim once before with another book from this author, but this was one of, if not, the best motorcycle club romances i’ve ever read. if i was in awe of how s. cole approached aspd with nero, wren’s non binary identity was written and conveyed with the utmost respect and care. i don’t want to speak for a representation that isn’t mine to “critic” so please listen to own voices when it comes to the authenticity of this character’s portrayal, keeping in mind that not everyone’s journey and experience is the same. nevertheless, as a queer woman myself i related to a lot of the issues and arguments raised within this story. i found it very reassuring, for lack of a better word, that the questioning wasn’t necessarily directed towards the validity of the non-conforming main character, but more so of their alleged straight biker counterpart – his inner monologue felt refreshing for that same reason. i’ve got to say that my favorite moments were of wren with the best duo jackal and shade, which made me all the more intrigued to see what that story will bring because yet again the author threw a curveball to my expectations.

Wren & Catfish are a very cute couple. Wren is non-binary (my first time reading a book with a character who is) and I will say this book did very well from what little I know about non-binary people. Catfish respected their pronouns & boundaries.. Was it a little rushed? a little bit but overall a good book.

I had a hard time concentrating in this one, maybe it was the knowledge that this is the last in the series for now🤔 I liked it tho, very nice to see some diversity! I think this was the first non-binary representation I’ve read, fun to see it happen in an mc romance. I’m BUZZING about the next book though!!!

Not what i expected

A grumpy x sunshine, hands off-clause, forced proximity romance that is different from the other books in the series.

It‘s a MC biker x hacker romance where Wren is a hacker and is running and Catfish is trying to stay away but finds it hard to bc he is attracted but all rules go flying out the window when Wren is threatened. Wren has no last name and no respect and is an outsider. It has all the spice and he falls hard but they fall harder trope. I didn‘t connect to the story all that much and it‘s really different from the other ones so i tried to but couldn‘t really connect.

TW: Violence, mort, aggression, stalking

The sixth book in the Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series, this is an exciting, close proximity, forbidden romance that is sweet, sexy and super functional, and I really enjoyed this one!

As a favour to the OG Iron Outlaws, the Colorado chapter has taken in Wren, a black hat hacker and friend of the club who is in hiding and needs to lay low. Catfish, Colorado MC treasurer and the man on watch when the club was hacked and money was stolen, is put in charge of protecting Wren, and they are moved into an apartment together with only one rule – Catfish is to keep his hands off. The problem is, he’s been smitten from the moment he laid eyes on them.

It’s a great set-up, I loved how Catfish is immediately all in with Wren. There is an added complexity to the story because Wren is non-binary. It was a first for me, and the author, and though I know little about non-binary representation in literature, I thought Cole did a fantastic job with respectfully and meaningfully telling Wren’s story. I have not really been exposed to the intricacies of gender and sexuality before, and I found their perspectives fascinating as we learned who they were and how they chose to live their life.

Safe is finding someone to trust with your whole heart. Safe is a place, a home, that carries mostly good memories. Safe is feeling affirmed by friends as you are, with space held for who you need to become.

It’s an important part of their story, as Catfish works earnestly to understand Wren and what they need, but it’s not a source of drama or conflict, as he accepts Wren without blinking an eye, he loves them as a person, and to him their gender is not even an issue, which I loved. And though important, and there is attention paid, Wren’s gender doesn’t overshadow the love story, which is easy and natural, steamy, heartfelt and swoony. And with Catfish wanting to understand and respect Wren’s boundaries, there’s a lot of openness and honesty, which I love in a romance book, as they figure out how to be together and what their future might look like.

“I know who I see. And I’m just a guy trying to figure out if I’m capable of being the man who deserves you, exactly as you are. How I need to change.”

I fell for both of these characters and loved watching them fall so madly in love. The fact that it’s forbidden brings a sense of ‘us against the world’ and shows just how much Catfish is willing to fight for Wren and their happy ending, and I loved that for both of them.

“You’re mine, Wren. I want to take you apart like this every night. Want to spend every goddamn day building a life with you. Not what the world expects, but what we want to build. Just you and me.”

While this is going on, they are still work to find out what happened to the club’s money, who is after Wren, and avoid the persistent FBI who are searching for Wren and are getting closer and closer. It’s intriguing (and tech-heavy because of Wren’s skillset) and leads to an exciting ending.

This is another great addition to the series. I loved seeing so much of all of the characters that we have come to know and love. The club is still learning how to come together after changes to their structure. But they’re a fun group and there’s no doubting that they have Catfish and Wren’s backs through it all.

The book ends well, and I really enjoyed this story.

4 stars.

With sensitivity, compassion and strategic genius Scarlett Cole brings her readers to the edge of their seats and leaves them with a full heart In The Touch We Seek for a memorable story!

Brilliant hacker Wren lived a life in a grey world. Non-binary Wen spent much of their life ostracized and misunderstood for who they were and what they did for a living. There was more to Colorado Iron Outlaws treasurer Catfish then met the eye. Loyal, responsible and caring he broke the stereotypical biker mold. When Wren sought asylum at the Colorado MC chapter after a hack job gone awry Catfish was put in charge of protecting them and this couple's lives changed in a way they never saw coming.

Seeing past Wren’s defensiveness and sarcasm Catfish’s laid back demeanor allowed this pair's curiosity in each other to develop into an attraction that gave them an outlet as well as the safety for them to show their authentic selves. In many ways this couple were opposites with Wren being closed off and Catfish being an open book. As this pair's story progressed their shared pain resulted in a found joy in their instinctive understanding of each other. Wren and Catfish's physical chemistry with each other was the perfect catalyst for them to explore parts of themselves that they did not realize they wanted to or were hesitant to.

Scarlet Cole outdid herself with The Touch We Seek writing a sensitive and suspenseful story that transcended the traditional models for love stories and showed that love really cannot be labeled as anything other than love. One of the things so special about Catfish and Wren’s relationship was that they accepted each other for who they were. Their open minds found a way to blend without judgment or the need to change each other. Mutual attraction and respect enhanced their similarities and differences, theirs was a genuine love.

Love comes in all shapes and forms but ultimately its end result is universal in its impact. Wren and Catfish at first glance appeared to be complex but in reality the purity of their love was very simple. Love does not have labels or fixed standards and if you are lucky enough to find your person you see past exteriors and search for that deeper unique connection that defies appearances and social dictates. This story really honed in on how the world would be a better place if we all saw with our hearts instead of preconceived notions.

Scarlet Cole takes chances on love and finds it in places often overlooked bringing to the forefront a voice to those loving on the periphery but no less significant. This author's sensitivity and perceptiveness continue to bring emotional and quality stories to her readers. An advocate for the heart Scarlett Cole is a gem and The Touch We Seek is this author at her storytelling best!

*I was given an advanced copy. All opinions expressed are my own. *
*While part of a series this book can be read as a stand alone, but for an overall enhanced reading experience reading the previous books in this series is suggested.*

The Touch We Seek by S. Cole is the sixth book in the Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado series. This is the story of the romance between River aka Catfish and Wren. It is an opposites attract, close proximity, found family, forbidden romance which happens when our favourite Iron Outlaws from NJ need a favour. This is an utterly absorbing read about friendship, love and resilience, finding a home and the feeling of belonging. A heartwarming, touching and wonderful story about a lovely couple who fate puts together for a reason.

This is the first time I have read a book with a non-binary character and I have learnt so much about how this presents for some people. The author has put a lot of care and attention to detail into this story and the use of the gender-neutral pronouns didn’t confuse me. The book taught me about the different challenges they face and it was a very enlightening portrayal of life with dysphoria. It was an amazing insight into their life, how things affect them and will open your eyes to things you may have misunderstood.

Wren is a computer hacker and friends with Calista. A job involving a Mexican cartel goes wrong and Wren’s life is at put at risk. Wanted by both the cartel and the FBI, Wren goes into hiding with the Iron Outlaws MC and helps find Rae for King. The Outlaws give them such support and I loved their friendship with Niro. Unfortunately circumstances change and King asks the Colorado chapter to protect Wren and in return they will help find the money stolen from the MC.

River aka Catfish is the treasurer and is assigned to protect Wren while they work together. King only makes one rule, Wren is off-limits so no touching. However, this presents Catfish with a problem because he immediately falls hard and fast. Catfish is adorable and navigates their journey really well. He has to navigate different ways to react and what he says. He is so protective, caring and respectful of Wren’s wishes and boundaries. He listens and tries really hard to understand what Wren needs and always uses the right words. He has past issues that he still suffers from so it was interesting how he managed these while doing all he could for Wren.

The communication between the pair is emotional, open and honest, which leads to their slow burn romance and them trusting each other. I liked how we get to see how Wren’s mind works and how things have affected them after all they have been through. Catfish fights for Wren even though he knows he is going against King’s orders. We also get to see a bit of Catfish’s mom and his sister Willa, they both have interesting stories and he protects them fiercely.

There is suspense and drama as they try to find out who is after Wren and why the FBI agent is being so persistent. They are still working on who took the MC’s money and recovering as much as possible. I liked seeing how the MC is coping with all the changes since Grudge became president and seeing all the other Outlaws. The author also gives us another teaser about Shade and Jackal.

I was as fascinated with Wren as Catfish was with them. I loved these two and how they worked on the type of relationship they wanted and best for Wren. Catfish was just amazing and willing to do whatever he had to. He took his protection duties and their relationship seriously. This is such an interesting and unique story which I totally recommend.

THE TOUCH WE SEEK is the sixth instalment in S. Cole’s (Scarlett Cole) contemporary, adult IRON OUTLAWS MC: COLORADO erotic, MC romance series, set in the author’s IRON OUTLAWS world. This is club treasurer and secretary, thirty year old, River ‘Catfish’ Haines and twenty-five year old, Blackhat hacker Wren Maren’s story line. THE TOUCH WE SEEK can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous story lines is revealed where necessary. Wren was first introduced in book five-THE TRUST WE BROKE.

NOTE: Due to the nature of the story line premise, there may be issues for more sensitive readers.

Told from dual first person perspectives (Wren and Catfish) THE TOUCH WE SEEK follows Wren Maren who has been under the protection of the Iron Outlaws MC: New Jersey but their whereabouts has been compromised, and Wren finds themself now under the protection of the Colorado chapter. Assigned to protect Wren, River ‘Catfish’ Haines discovers there is more to Wren then he could have ever imagined; a hacker whose connections to both the Cartel and FBI has placed a target on their back. On the run, and in hiding, Wren and Catfish find themselves at a disadvantage as someone is always a step ahead.

The world building follows several pathways including Wren’s non-binary identity, something everyone accepts but struggles to keep the pronouns correct. Catfish has been warned off Wren as they are a job, and not a conquest but Catfish sees something in Wren that no one else can see. As Wren and Catfish dig deeper into the dark web, a pattern begins to appear, as Wren discovers the person taking aim may be the most dangerous of them all.

The relationship between Wren and Catfish begins as protection but quickly turns into something more. Wren is determined to ensure their identity remains non-binary but their attraction to Catfish threatens the stoic actions and attitude of the Blackhat hacker. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of familiar, dynamic and energetic secondary and supporting characters including several members from both Iron Outlaws MC series.

THE TOUCH WE SEEK is a story of power and control, betrayal and vengeance, obsession and madness, acceptance and love. The character driven premise is detailed and dramatic with much focus on Wren’s non-binary status. The romance is seductive; the characters are determined and desperate.

Scarlett does not miss. Ever.

I absolutely loved River and Wren—and I don’t say that lightly, even though I say it often. These two are genuinely special.

Yes, there’s spice. Yes, there’s a solid plot. But what made this book stand out was the level of healthy communication between these characters. And that’s coming from someone who once would’ve rather set herself on fire than have an honest conversation. 😅 It was refreshing, emotional, and honestly… hot.

River is pure golden retriever energy. All heart, all sincerity, all devotion. I wanted to squish his cheeks and I’m fully convinced he was Gerber baby material as an infant. Wren is sharp, guarded, protective, and absolutely perfect for him. He falls first, they fall harder, and I ate it up.

Scarlett also handled a complex topic involving representation with care and intention. From my perspective, it felt thoughtful, insightful, and natural—never forced—which is not easy to do.
That said… I read this shortly after Grudge’s book, and while I adored him there, I was not thrilled with how he showed up here. He does come around, but I would’ve loved an actual apology or acknowledgment of his behavior.

Also—Niro sighting!! Along with several other OG favorites. And getting more Shade and Jackal? Inject it directly into my veins. I have a strong feeling those two are going to steal my heart next.
River + Wren = forever favorites.

First of all, thank you so much for the ARC, Scarlett, but above all for the INCREDIBLE character that is Wren! I am completely in love with them, and utterly captivated by this very special love between two such wonderful people.

What immediately drew me to this book was the presence of a non-binary main character, and I became truly hooked on the entire development of the story, the plot, but especially the evolution of the romance between two people who were discovering themselves in every possible way.

All I can say is that it was an incredible journey, a memorable story, one that pushed me to my limits, but in the very best way.

Scarlett Cole truly outdid herself with this book by writing a sensitive story about a sensitive and controversial topic, still wrapped in a very large cloak of prejudice. It moves far away from traditional love story models and shows that love cannot be labeled as anything other than love, love for people, not love for a particular gender.

What I loved most about this book was Catfish and Wren’s relationship: the mutual acceptance of who each of them is, free of prejudice and grounded in deep respect for one another. With open minds, they blended all their differences into an incredible love. And that is exactly how love should be: true, genuine, complementary, and respectful.

Having received the ARC, I had not read the other books in the series (which I absolutely will!), but I dove headfirst into this one and do not regret it at all. This story represents everything I believe love should be: free of labels, genders, and prejudice, and simple, centered on the person who inspires us to be our best selves and, more than that, helps us accept who we are and learn to love ourselves.

This book took me on a true emotional roller coaster, and I felt that the author handled Wren’s story with the utmost care and knowledge, investing deeply in a theme that, beyond being current, is extremely sensitive and can generate discomfort. The author’s courage is truly admirable, and I am deeply grateful to have been able to read this book in advance.

Thank you for the ARC, but above all, thank you for the incredible character that is Wren!

***5 ‘Be the Hurricane…Never the Kite’ Stars***

I’ll readily admit that when it was made known that Catfish and Wren were the next ones up on
Cupid’s chopping block, I paused for a moment to take it in. Having just met Wren, I was very curious about them and who they were and so that pause was one of curious excitement to see how their journey would unfold and how the rest of the Colorado fam would react and I was in no way disappointed. I LOVED Catfish and Wren’s journey. It was complex and yet simple all that the same time and I loved how everyone ~ including the NJ chapter ~ rallied when they needed them.

So basically, I ADORED Catfish and Wren. Catfish is definitely a golden retriever in all the best ways, but he is also a badass and will do all that is necessary to protect his people. I loved getting to know Wren and how they viewed themselves and the world around them. They were vulnerable and yet strong at the same time. Their journey was a fun one. I thoroughly enjoyed watching as they got to know each other because the communication between them was honest and became more open the more they were together, which made it real easy to see how they could fall for each other and build a life together.

I think that this was a great addition to the Outlaw world at large. I, obviously loved that we got a bit of time with the NJ chapter throughout ~ especially one brother in particular (you MUST read the bonus short when you’re done with this baby) ~ and to see how the Colorado chapter is evolving with the Grudge being Prez and all that goes with that. As for Wren being non-binary, I don’t know anyone who is, but the fact that I’ve read all of the books by this author, I had no doubt that she would do a great job at bringing Wren to life and she did a great job as far as I’m concerned. Now…to say that I am absolutely THRILLLED (and a bit surprised but still thrilled) at who the next book is about is an understatement because I’ve been crossing my fingers they’d get a book since first meeting them…so, now to practice patience…

**Took My Breath Away!**

*The Touch We Seek* is the sixth book in the Outlaws MC: Colorado series. Catfish and Wren's love story truly sets a high standard for mature and healthy communication. It highlights the importance of seeing and respecting one another's boundaries while providing a safe space for each other.

Wren has spent most of their life running, yearning to find a place that feels like home, where they can be seen and feel safe. They finally discover that sense of belonging with River "Catfish." He has a unique ability to understand who Wren is and recognizes that it is up to him to change his way of thinking; Wren doesn’t need to change a thing about themselves.

As their relationship deepens, River “Catfish” makes it clear that he is willing to do whatever it takes for Wren, even if it means going against his brothers. This adds a profound level of emotional depth and intensity to their connection.

Scarlett continues to outdo herself with each book in the series, and Catfish and Wren’s story is incredible—compassionate and layered. It is so well written that you can tell it’s heartfelt and personal to the author.

While this isn’t my first encounter with a character like Wren, and I don’t claim to be a representative, this is the first time I found it easy to understand and read all the pronouns without confusion or misgendering Wren at any point in the book. The amount of research and care the author put into crafting Wren’s character is fantastic.

I often say this at the end of each book, and I’ll say it again: I cannot wait for the next installment, as this series is a must-read that keeps getting better and better!

Favorite Quotes:

“Be the hurricane, Wren. Never the kite.”

“Yeah. I know who I see. And I’m just a guy trying to figure out if I’m capable of being the man who deserves you, exactly as you are. How I need to change.”

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Anyone who knows me or follows me on social media will know I'm a huge fan of Scarlett's books, not just her bikers, but all her stories. As Scarlett always represents real people and life in all its messy, complicated ways, The Touch We Seek is no different. Furthermore, Scarlett handles everything with so much sensitivity and care.

As Wren, who identifies as non-binary, finds a home with the New Jersey chapter of the Iron Outlaws and their old ladies. Who consider them part of the family. This means they are off-limits to everyone and under their protection.

However, when it becomes clear that Wren is no longer safe in New Jersey, the guys devise a plan to get Wren to safety by placing them with the Colorado chapter of the Outlaws. Which Wren understands, but isn't happy about it, as they have finally found a home and people who understand and accept them for who they are. Particularly my guy Niro.

But in Colorado, Wren meets Catfish, who is tasked with keeping them safe and assisting Wren, a hacker, in recovering the money stolen from the Outlaws in The Trust We Broke.

But Catfish is wary not of Wren, who intrigues him more each day, but of why Wren is really in Colorado, and he starts to believe that they are there for reasons other than their protection.

However, as the days pass, the pair start to truly open up to each other and begin to navigate a relationship. And I was there for every thought-provoking moment of it.

And, of course, an Iron Outlaws story wouldn't be complete without thrills, danger, and excitement, and the other Outlaws. Who when together, really bring something special to the table. Especially when the New Jersey chapter is involved, and honestly, I just adored every single second of it.

I would thoroughly recommend The Touch We Seek and the series to all. As honestly, it is the best MC Romance you will ever read.

My thanks to TAA & Scarlett Cole for my ARC copy. All thoughts expressed are my own. ☺️

Wren is a hacker on the run from both the FBI and a drug cartel, and when things get too dangerous, they’re sent to the Colorado Outlaw MC for protection. Enter Catfish (River), the biker assigned to keep them safe. From the moment they meet, he’s drawn to Wren in a way he doesn’t quite understand, especially with a strict hands-off policy in place. It doesn’t take long for Catfish to realise that Wren is everything he’s ever wanted.

Wren has been running for so long and trusting people hasn’t been an option, but saying no to a caring, protective biker who would do absolutely anything for them feels impossible.

This was my first time reading a book with a non-binary main character, and I was genuinely impressed with how Scarlett handled it. Wren was written with so much sensitivity and compassion and I really appreciated the open conversations between characters about being non-binary. Catfish, in particular, made my heart melt with how proactive he was in learning about Wren’s identity, boundaries and preferences. We love a thoughtful, emotionally aware king.

I also adored how Catfish openly questioned his attraction to Wren and what that meant for his sexuality. Rather than resisting it, he leaned into the feelings and explored them honestly. His openness, growth and self-reflection felt refreshing and real.

The chemistry between Wren and Catfish was intense, but what surprised me most was the emotional depth of their connection early on. The care, safety and trust they built together was beautiful, especially watching Wren slowly allow themselves to be loved exactly as they are. Their relationship was full of communication, respect and compassion and every time Catfish called Wren “sweetheart”, my heart did a little flip.

This was a powerful, tender and unexpectedly emotional MC romance that really stayed with me. I am very much looking forward to the next book which I think might be an MMF.

This is book six of Iron Outlaws MC: Colorado and I would be lying if I told you, it didn’t profoundly affect me. Wren and Catfish’s story is top tier and masterfully executed. It will stay with me for quite some time.

Wren is on the run, and the mother chapter of the Iron Outlaws strikes a deal with the Colorado chapter to protect them. In turn, Wren will help find money stolen from the Colorado chapter.

Catfish is the treasurer of the club who must work with Wren to find the stolen money. But he is also assigned to protect them at same time. The job comes with one particularly important rule from the President – no touching.

As time passes, Catfish begins to develop feelings for Wren. He is captivated by their ability to be exactly who they are in a world full of judgement. But Wren doesn’t trust anyone at this club and finds it difficult with no one to confide in. Being attracted to Wren stirs up a bit of inner turmoil for Catfish, making him question his past actions. Through always being within each other’s orbit and having open conversation Catfish and Wren form a bond that eventually leads to Catfish stomping right on over that one rule.

Now, Wren brings their own kind of trouble and once that trouble gets too close, Catfish’s one and only mission is to keep them safe. And maybe, build a new life for them both.

This book put me through the ringer and I’m not mad about it. Scarlett managed Wren’s story with the utmost care. She did her research and presented Wren with the passion and dignity they deserved.

We get to see a bit of Catfish’s mom and sister in this book – I really hope his sister gets a story. Her drama needs to be told! Lol

Scarlett you excelled with this book. Thank you so much for Wren!!

RUN do not walk and buy this book!!!

The Touch We Seek is the latest MC romance released by S. Cole, and once again, she has delivered a story that is completely addictive. There is no author I trust more to write a narrative with the consideration, care, and understanding that characters deserve. Catfish and Wren's story is deeply thought-provoking, and I loved finishing the book with greater knowledge than I had when I began. Witnessing Wren and Catfish's thoughts and feelings as they navigate a relationship together was something I truly treasured. I also loved the thrills and excitement woven throughout the novel as the events that brought Wren to Colorado unfolded.

There seems to be a pattern with this series - I've fallen for every single one of Ms. Cole's Iron Outlaw biker brothers. The people who stand beside them are just as remarkable - what I wouldn't give to be a book club member! I always look forward to scenes where all the brothers come together. Whether they're protecting one another or simply hanging out, those moments always feel real. I'll never say no to visits from members of the New Jersey Chapter, as they make me want to revisit their own fabulous personal journeys all over again.

The Touch We Seek is another incredible installment in this must-read series, and I loved experiencing the wide range of emotions it brought out in me. I've said many times that the Iron Outlaws is hands-down the best MC series I've ever read. Every book exceeds my already sky-high expectations, and I'm always left counting down the days until the next one hits my Kindle.

The Touch We Seek is book six in the Iron Outlaws MC Colorado Series. This is a forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine, biker/hacker romance. The story focuses on Catfish, a.k.a. River, and Wren.

Throughout the series, Catfish seemed like the playboy type. I was pleasantly surprised to learn how genuinely good of a human he is. He’s loyal to his brotherhood, but he’s also a strong supporter of his family. I also admire that he fought for Wren in every way.

Wren was sassy, independent, stubborn, and extremely intelligent. They took zero crap from anyone and never backed down from a challenge. They were definitely full of fire. Although, some of the fire and sass directed at Catfish felt a little exhausting at times—especially when he didn’t seem to deserve it.

Their story contained a mix of violence, action, angst, and suspense. There was also a bit of drama, which I must say, Grudge was not likeable in this book! Additionally the story was light on the spice, and I found the pacing to be somewhat slow.

Although I didn't connect with this story like I have with others, Cole pours a lot of her heart, time, and research into the topics she writes about—subjects that are generally not touched on—and her care shows in her writing.

It’s taken a few days to process my thought and how to articulate as best as I can regarding this book.
This was sensitively, thoughtfully and insightfully beautifully written.
This is such a current subject at the moment and S Cole honoured it so well.
Anyway, the plot, brilliantly action packed, all the computer jargon, way above my head but gave credibility to the story and characters.
Catfish, well he truly was a surprise, I fell hard for him I am not ashamed to say. I loved how honest he was with Wren and how he didn’t change himself just to be what they wanted but was broad minded enough to be happy with himself to be what they needed.
I have never resonated with a character as much as I did with Wren having gone through a similar transition with my own family member, felt I understood their inner thoughts through the eyes of Wren and would like to think that I have grown as a person myself.
This book had all the steam and hotness as the other books but the emotional connection was off the charts.
The supporting characters are always amazing and the New Jersey chapter appearance put a smile on my face.
Slightly different feel to romance but wholly worth a read, loved it.
