I loved Ella and Jack in this one! She was running from a terrible situation and Jack saves her. Their instant chemistry and connection was so good. This was such a good spicy Christmas novella. I always love Alyson’s books and this one was no exception! I can’t wait for what’s next!

Ella and Jack's story is an instalove, super smutty holiday novella--they're snowed in! Oh,the horror! She's on the run from her hellish family situation, and he's the fire chief who rescues her when her car goes off the road.

They can't get her suitcase out of the back of the car for several days...oh, what a shame. She has to wear his too-big-for-her fire station tees around his house ;)

This book very much follows the standard formula for Ms Archer's books--H/h with a considerable (but legal) age gap meet, share an instant attraction, and somehow manage to (kind of? mostly?) keep their hands off of each other for about half of the book until...they don't anymore. Our heroine is no longer has her v-card and has discovered that Daddy kink is *very* much her thing. Our hero is big and strong and wants to take care of and protect her, and she is here for it. She is sweet but also sexy, he is sweet for her and of course OTT sexy too. If that is what you are looking for, you absolutely will not be disappointed :D

Her Mountain Christmas is set in the Honey Ridge universe, but could work as a standalone. It doesn't have to, though! Ella and Jack do manage to drag themselves out of his cabin at one point and meet up with the other MCs of the first three books; if you've missed their stories they are all conveniently available now in one volume ( Mountain Heat: A Spicy Mountain Man Collection ) for your reading pleasure.

A spicy and sweet Christmas bite!

I love this novellas because they give you the full Christmas vibe while still being smutty and delicious.

I always know Alyson and mountain men are the perfect combo, but a mountain firefighter rescue? God lord Santa knows his presents. Jack was the perfect Daddy and I was sat for him the moment he saw her through the window and was like “I want her” Like sir, I want you to want me like that please.

Him finishing Ella was a match made in heaven. She was shy at first, but I couldn’t get enough of the fact that she knew what she wanted and was willing to tease and seduce even with 0 experience just because seeing Jack was like an epiphany. Her life was dull til she met this man and once she was in Honey Ridge, every piece fell into place for their HEA.

Another novella I will reread every Christmas…well, this one and Santa’s Pretty Helper (idk what drug she put into that one but oooffff!)

Being able to read these stories early it’s always an honor, so for that thank you Alyson!!

HER MOUNTAIN CHRISTMAS is the fourth book in the Honey Ridge series and, as you may have figured out, takes place at Christmastime.

Ella comes from money, but that has a price tag. When she finds out her parents have basically sold her to a man she can't stand, she leaves the party and leaves her apartment. Unfortunately, as happens when you're running away, she doesn't check the weather forecast and ends up driving in a blizzard. Along comes Jack to the rescue, who warms her up in more ways than one!

This is another cracker of a book from Alyson Archer. It is Christmassy with plenty of snow, but steam aplenty indoors. I loved how Ella knew what she wanted and made no bones about it, whereas Jack was more than happy to give his girl what she wanted, even when she didn't know what that was.

Although Ms Archer writes one helluva steamy scene, my favourite was when Ella stood up to her parents, with Jack by her side. Take that, you snotty pair!!!

Absolutely fantastic and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me!

LOVES:
- Jack’s moral dilemma makes the age gap work so well. He’s a gentleman who doesn’t want to take advantage, but finds her hard to resist. Ella knows what she wants and loves teasing him until he loses control. It’s a fun dynamic 😄
- Alyson writes instalove so well. She develops a genuine connection between characters so quickly and smoothly. The way Jack and Ella got to know each other and talked through their feelings felt natural, while also including that element of “I was struck as soon as I saw them”.
- Aww, seeing the couples from the previous books in the series and how they fit into this story was adorable 🥰
- That bonus epilogue in the fire truck was super hot 🚒🔥

Always nice to be back in Honey Ridge! What a sweet little town with some kind of magic 😉

I picked up this book expecting a classic mountain man Christmas romance—cozy cabin vibes, rugged outdoorsman energy, all the usual holiday charm. Instead, it leans much more toward a firefighter romance, which isn’t a bad thing at all, but definitely not what the blurb led me to believe.

The relationship also develops very quickly. Even for an instalove story, it felt unusually fast and a bit unnatural at times. The spicy scenes were another surprise. The blurb hinted at heat, which is totally fine, but the kinkier direction wasn’t something I expected and wasn’t really to my personal taste.

That said, the book is a quick, festive escape — easy to read in one sitting and perfect if you’re in the mood for something light with Christmas vibes. It just wasn’t entirely what I was hoping for based on the description.

Listen, I am going to say something controversial... but there was something about these last two Honey Ridge books that @AlysonArcher delivered to us that just SLAPS. I absolutely devoured them, and they brought me so many giddy moments. I mean, it is outlandish? Yes, but so are the dreams of those naïve early 20's where you wanted to be rescued in a snowstorm, taken to the fire chief's house and let him teach you all the things. I loved our protective-vibe from Jack, and how much he wanted to take care of Ella and save her from her family that didn't care about her. I love a confident, slightly cocky man that wants me in his shirt. I mean, hello! Who doesn't want all that and more under the tree?

Sometimes this is exactly what you need. These last two books were easily my favorite books ever from @AlysonArcher and I can't wait for more! Ah!

This man is older than her and has decided he’s going to put her in a mental institution until she becomes a meek prop for him. Her parents are all for it. Ella puts her foot down and says no more and leaves. Rushes home packs a bag and flees in her car. She just doesn’t have luck when a storm hits and she hits black ice and crashes into a ditch. Jack finds her and takes care of her. Believing in love at first sight, well both of them are hit with the bug. Snow storm hits and they are stuck sort of in his cabin. But they find ways to be together and this HEA is awesome. I loved this book but it took me longer than normal to finish it with life getting in the way. I’m all for the series.

Jack Carter is easy to like. He's sincere in his desire to help. Sure, his inner caveman kicks in upon realizing what led to him finding Ella along the side of the road. I love the fierce protectiveness, but I also love how he supports her independence.

There may be a giant gap in age and experience between them, but I love their chemistry. I also love the cameos from other Honey Ridge couples. Sweet, steamy insta-love appears to be all the rage in this small Canadian mountain town. 😘 If you aren't sure, make sure to also read the bonus epilogue.

This novella is dual POV, well written and edited, and a piping hot and sweet, age gap, small town, contemporary, Christmas, instalove romance between Ella, the female lead running away from her controlling family, and Jack, the male fire chief lead who rescues her from a snowdrift. I enjoyed Ella’s initiative and determination to take control of her life. I enjoyed Jack’s care for others, and the work he’d spent his life doing. I enjoyed the way they complemented each other and the steamy intimate scenes. I enjoyed the certainty they both felt about their future together.

What I love about this series is how tender and affectionate the MMCs are. This book was no exception. Jack was the ideal “book daddy.” Smitten, sweet, gentle seduction, and all the right kinds of possessive care-taking.

Reading this book was like taking a bubble bath with a happy ending. 😉 Just pure pleasure.

The daddy-kink genre can often times be a minefield to navigate, especially if you’re looking for tender sweetness. But Alyson Archer always delivers on that front.

Her spicy scenes are top-notch, 😳😍 perfection. Equal parts blush inducing and swoon inducing. So happy I found this author!

I usually like books by Alyson Archer, but this one was sadly a miss for me. The MMC was over twice the age of the FMC. Why must authors always write about women in their early twenties? Sigh. An age gap romance shouldn’t have to mean the woman is barely legal. Ugh. Everything just felt a little too cookie cutter perfect. Ella flees her parents’ control, ends up with Jack and everything falls neatly into place. The only conflict was with her parents, and that felt very cartoon villainy. I just wasn’t feeling this one.

Her Mountain Christmas is a quick, snowy escape with plenty of holiday atmosphere and small town charm. I enjoyed Ella’s decision to finally choose herself and Jack’s calm, steady presence made him an easy hero to root for. While the story is warm and engaging overall, some of the spicier scenes and parts of the writing did pull me out of the moment and made the pacing feel a bit rushed. Still, the cozy setting, festive mood, and strong sense of connection kept me turning the pages. A fun holiday read that isn’t perfect, but is still worth picking up if you enjoy wintry romance with heat and heart.
