“If you’re a good girl tonight, maybe I’ll treat you like a bad one later.”

As a human living in the isolated supernatural town of Midnight Harbor, there’s only two choices for leave Midnight or pledge my allegiance to one of the supernatural Houses.

It’s expected I’ll follow my family lineage and pledge myself to the Locke Vampire House. But with my pledging day approaching, I’m determined to live my own life and leave Midnight.

I would have made good on that promise if it wasn’t for my vampire neighbor, Bran Duval, black sheep of the powerful Duval House.

Bran reveals that my sister has secretly asked Duval House to bid on me breaking all of Midnight’s tradition. Bran doesn’t know the reason but I think he’s just as curious as I am because we’re soon teaming up to uncover the secrets.

But the longer I’m with Bran, the less control I seem to have over my own desires. Especially when Bran is commanding me in the dark, igniting something in me I didn’t even know I had.

And when Bran finally sinks his fangs into me, everything about my life comes into question.

Because my blood? It isn’t human.

3.5 ✨ This book was something… this is the omnibus version so all 5 books are in here. And let’s just say that books 1-3 are my faves and 4&5 need a little work. I just kept going okay let’s wrap this up and okay now why did you think that was a good idea?

5 ⭐️ 3 🌶️ I absolutely love the way this author writes! This is the second series that I’ve read and will continue reading her work.
This story is a fantasy realm of fae, vampires, witches, shifters and humans. The amount of spice in this series is perfect and the scenes do not feel forced or over done. The story gave me a feel of a few of the popular fantasy books mashed into one with beautiful smut and romance intertwined.
Highly recommend this as a romantasy!

The story of a girl named Jessie who lives next door to a hot arrogant vampire. As the series progresses, they fall in love. But she also finds out things about herself that rock her world.

A fun series. I read them as individual seasons collected together from the serials. I enjoyed the world building and the characters. I wasn't completely satisfied with the ending, unfortunately. But I enjoyed the story as a whole.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.25

I read the individual seasons prior to listening to the audiobook because I wasn't sure if I'd like it due to originally being a Kindle Vella read. My plan had been to read season 1 and then start the audiobook, but instead I had binge read all 5 seasons in a day and a half. I rated all seasons as a 4, with one being a 4.25. If you take it too seriously, it's not going to be fun, but if you take it at face value as the over-the-top supernatural soap opera that it is, it's quite enjoyable and a good escape from reality. I think Amy Hall did a perfect job bringing Jessie to life, she sounded very similar to how I'd heard Jessie in my head when originally reading the seasons.

My only real complaint is more of a personal preference and nothing that I deducted any stars for, but I couldn't help but giggle when narrator Amy would use her Bran voice. I was fine with almost all of her male character voices, but her Bran voice made me laugh. Which is entirely possible that it's due to how ridiculous and OTT Bran is as a character, so it probably wasn't even her voice making me laugh but hearing his lines said aloud. Same with narrator Jim Schubin’s Jessie voice. I much prefer a duet or solo style narration but I'm not going to lower my rating due to it being a dual style narration. Overall, I think that the narrators did a good job, and I give them a 4.5/5 and with the 4/5 of the story itself, an overall rating of 4.25/5 stars.

I received a free copy of this audiobook from the author, and all opinions are my own.

I am a huge fan of Nikki St. Crowe’s writing, and The Vampire Diaries. So it should come as no surprise that this book was high on my radar to read ASAP. I love that Secrets Drenched in Blood is an omnibus of all five books, so you can choose to read it in installments or immediately binge them all in one go. Since I read both the audiobook and the ebook, I was able to alternate between the two or do both at the same time (immersive reading is the best!).

The story is very character driven, and those characters live in a world where magic and supernatural beings are part of the town’s foundation. Jessie goes from being a human pledge (read: blood bag) for a vampire house, to fully empowered and supported by her vampire boyfriend by the end of the series. Each character is unique and well developed. As each book progresses, the world expands and we learn more about Jessie and others in her orbit.

Bran is the titular “hot vampire next door”, and his character is both hilarious and surprising. As we get to see more of him, once his POV is introduced, his motivations and connections become more apparent. His relationship with Jessie is one that comes with growth for them both, and I love how it all comes together.

The audiobook performance was well done, and I enjoyed getting to listen to how interactions played out verses how I pictured them in my head. This audiobook is narrated in dual format, with a narrator for both Jessie and Bran’s POV chapters. I highly recommend both the audiobook and physical book of this story!

Thank you, Nikki St. Crowe, for gifting me with both an ALC and eARC. All thoughts expressed are my own.

I was granted the privilege from the reading gods and goddesses to be blessed with an ARC of Secrets Drenched in blood: The Complete Midnight Harbor Harbor Series by Nikki St. Crowe. I’ve been a fan of her beautifully genius writing for quite some time 🐊 and this honor is a full circle moment, someone pinch me🖤 Thank you Nikki!!

Absolutely devoured this series! Step into a fantasy realm where fae, vampires, witches, shifters, and humans collide—and trust me, it’s every bit as intoxicating as it sounds. The spice level? Chef’s kiss. Every scene is deliciously sensual without ever feeling forced or over the top.

This story has the perfect blend of magic, danger, and heat—like your favorite fantasy romances all rolled into one irresistible, smoldering world. The chemistry crackles, the romance burns, and the smut? Utterly divine.

If you’re craving a romantasy that’s dripping with passion and power, this one’s a must-read. Prepare to get hooked—and maybe a little hot under the collar. 🔥💋

I had the honor of receiving an e-ARC and an ALC so I obviously had to read them simultaneously and I’m not mad about it. I listen to my audiobooks about 2.5x give or take and I found all the voices to be pleasant and on par for how I’d imagine them just reading the books.
First thing’s first: these books make me want a grilled cheese real bad. I had no choice but to order all the fixin’s for a good grilled cheese after reading about it so many times and I’m not sorry. 😋
So now getting down to business: I enjoyed the story line and how there’s always something going on. There’s not a dull moment in ANY of these books. I found myself turning each page with ease of understanding of what was happening and on edge with anticipation. The smut wasn’t over the top and made sense with the story. I found the comedic relief to be absolutely delightful. Bran is a riot. When Bran said Darcy from Pride and Prejudice was based off his brother? I lost it. Though he’s a riot he’s also so warm for his mouse. You never guess his feelings for her and his awe of her never falters. He truly stands by her even when she’s pulling the shots and he doesn’t see the vision. A true icon.
There’s not a single character I didn’t enjoy in this book. Not a single character I felt the books could do without and still be fine. Everyone holds their ground and is integral to the story.
I definitely would’ve liked to have more to the last book but it wasn’t lacking in any way.

I just love her writing. Love Jessie’s growth throughout all the books and kind of sad it came to an end. Would totally re read. I feel like it never slowed down and I knew it was ending but didn’t want to. This was just so good.

LOVED this paranormal romance — fae, vampire, wolves.

Secrets Drenched in Blood is the complete Midnight Harbor series containing books 1-5 of Hot Vampire Next-door.

Jess is a mortal living in a town full of supernatural beings. She thinks her future is set. She can either pledge her allegiance to one of the super natural houses or run away from Midnight Harbor. All her life she was brought up to think she would pledge herself to be a human blood bag for the Loke Vampire House, like all the women in her family before her.

One day , nearing her Pledge day (her 21st birthday) , she was taken by surprise as her neighbor, Bran Duval ( Her very hot vampire neighbor) told her that his brother will be putting in the bid for her pledge, all because her older sister Kelly made a deal with him.

Bran tells her this, gives her this warning, but even he has no idea why. They both feel like something more is going on, and they are determined to find out what that is.

While they unbury secrets , there is an undeniable chemistry between the two of them. Jess and Bran are both hesitant to act on at first. However, when they do, that's when the story really picks up. More secrets, Mystery, Supernatural mischief, and answers that lead to more questions.

The dual POV between Jess and Bran is done so well. You don't feel like your missing out on any of the story line as you are switching between the two of them, and seeing the character development between both if them really enhances the story. You can feel the impact they are both having on each other , in ways they wouldn't have if they didn't begin this journey together.

This is a spicy story, and id not recommend it for anyone under the age of 18. The self discovery isn't just accomplished during the two of them solving the mystery of Midnight harbor, but a good chunk of it is done between the two of them, if you get my drift.

The plot moves at a good pace, at no time did any of the twists feel like they came so out of left field that they didn't make sense or fit in with the story. Any time something big happens you can go back and see where the hints were laid out, but not in such a obvious way , you feel like you can see them all coming a mile away.

Also, lets give a nice round of applause for writing a healthy established female friendship. The bond between Jess and Sam is heart warming. Jess having Sam as some one who completely understands and supports her was wonderful to read.

Speaking of Sam, none of the "side" characters felt unnecessary. They all had a role and were well written. Additionally, the dynamics between the Humans, Shifters, Vampires, and Fae were all drawn out really well. You didn't need more information and the world building happened naturally and flowed well with the story.

Go grab yourself a nice toasty grilled cheese, salty french fries, and a root beer to get ready to dive in to the world of Midnight Harbor. This is a story worth biting into.

The series pacing was too slow. The characters were missing depth and didn't have any development. The relationship was way too rushed and there was no chemistry. Honestly, this story didn't need to be almost 800 pages long.

I understand that the stories originally came out as a series of monthly novellas (or something like that), but I think it needed a revision and an editor to justify a compilation of the five books.

I thought the story started out really interesting, but by the end, I was really tired of the repetitions and a plot that should have been tied up and finished two books earlier.

The first two books are good while the mystery is still a mystery, and the characters are developing something, but after that, nothing really matters.

It makes sense if the stories are separate and you end up forgetting some things, but reading all five books in a row is terrible. I started to notice that a lot of scenes were repeated and a lot of the protagonists' thoughts were repeated (I can't count the number of times Jessie got wet and Bran smelled it or the number of times he said Mouse, but there were A LOT, sometimes one after the other).

Some scenes were placed in the story in a super random way.
I love spice in books just as the next person, but it got to a point where it didn't make sense for the characters to be doing that in specific situations. Sometimes, it just seemed like the spice was to fill up a quota.

The final resolution of the story is underwhelming. I felt like the main character didn't know how to deal with her powers, even though she had four books to do that, and was I expecting something like that. She had a power moment and the one time she was faced with the possibility of proving herself, she just couldn't do anything.

And I'm not going to talk about the resolutions to the problems in theis last book. If it was that easy, they should've done all that before I read 700 pages.

The final chapter is a joke. I could hardly believe that the best idea the author had to wrap up five whole books was for Bran to open the Winter Court's castle. I felt like a clown.

No character is very well developed, although I liked the dynamic between Bran and Jessie in the beginning. Bran started to get on my neves when he couldn't for the life of him trust Jessie or get over his caveman ideas and she couldn't justify needing his trust when all she did was nothing.

I feel like as the books went on, more characters appeared, and less and less any of them had any interesting point other than having a specific role for specific parts of the story.

I'm giving it 3 stars because until the middle of the third book, I thought it was ok. The ending was terrible, but that's what I get for noticing terrible patterns in the writing and still thinking that the conclusion would be at least satisfactory.

Secrets Drenched in Blood is equal parts mystery, magic, and messy love story. It’s the kind of series that consumes you. Come for the soap operatic fun and vampires and stay for the emotional wreckage (and the banter, obviously). Whether you read it, listen to it, or both, you’re in for a ride that’ll leave your heart racing and your Kindle overheating. Loads of fun all around, and I highly recommend an immersive reading experience for this one too.

Secrets Drenched in Blood bundles the entire Hot Vampire Next Door series, all five books of supernatural drama, romance, and chaos, into one massive volume. You can read it bit by bit, or you can binge it all in one wild weekend. I did both audiobook and ebook, switching between them depending on my mood, or scene type. It’s a fast paced and quick read, and from what I understand it was originally a kindle vella series, and I think the books definitely read like that medium.

The world itself is everything I love in a paranormal romance: small-town magic, vampire politics, and a human heroine trying to survive in the middle of it all. Vampire Diaries fans rejoice, this definitely scratched that itch for me. Our heroine Jessie starts off as a pledge, basically a human “donor” destined to serve a vampire house, but she doesn’t stay powerless for long. Watching her go from resigned to rebellious, and finally, fully in control, was a really great and empowering character arc, and I really enjoyed her as our leading lady.

And then there’s Bran Duval, the “hot vampire next door” himself. He’s messy, magnetic, and way too confident for his own good. But as the story unfolds and we finally get inside his head, there’s so much more to him than the flirty, broody exterior. His relationship with Jessie is the definition of complicated. They push each other, frustrate each other, and still somehow make perfect sense.
Parts of this definitely feel over the top …to me in a fun way. Come in knowing this is a series that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s fast paced, twists come here and there, and the drama is high. Again, that VD energy is perfect. And it definitely gets hella spicy.

The audio is dual narration, and I thought both performances were great. Amy Hall really embodies Jessie and all her emotional range,, and Jim Schubin brings all of Bran’s vampire swagger and deliciousness. Because of the high drama, hyperbolized at times extraness of some of these characters I actually didn’t always love their voices for each other- this would have been so stinking good in duet. But still overall a great audio and a super fun read. 5 books in one which is a great deal too.

I originally had binged books 1-4 (Hot Vampire Next Door) when they were released on KU a few years ago, so when I heard about this omnibus, I knew I HAD to read it to get a refresher and finish out the series! I did this as a tandem ebook and audiobook read, and Amy Hall and Jim Schubin did a great job with their dual narration. I love immersive reading, so this was easy to binge!

Midnight Harbor is an isolated supernatural town, and Jessie has never felt like she fit in. She’s expected to follow her family lineage and pledge to Locke Vampire House, and Jessie plans to leave Midnight…but that plan changes thanks to her hot, vampire neighbor Bran Duval, black sheep of the powerful Duval House.

Bran reveals that Jessie’s sister wants Duval House to break tradition and bid on her, for reasons unknown. Now, Bran and Jessie are teaming up to uncover secrets and the longer they’re together? The less control Jessie seems to have over her desires. When Bran finally sinks his fangs into her? Everything changes.

Jessie's blood? It isn’t human…

Whew! Bran Duval lived up to the Hot Vampire Next Door moniker and then some! I mean, that man doesn’t even need to use his power of compulsion on me, I’m going wherever he wants and obeying his commands in the dark 🤭 Do I have an embarrassing amount of highlights of filthy things Bran said? Yes. But do I also have the sweet things he reserved only for Jessie highlighted too? Also, yes. I am a sucker *pun intended since he’s a vampire* for an MMC who is morally gray (I mean, he is ready to injure and ☠️ on Jessie’s behalf), protective (If he isn’t traveling to another realm to save you, does he even love you?), and loyal AF to his woman (when separated and he needs to feed, he only fed from males AND he makes sacrifices to ensure Jessie’s safety). I loved the push-pull dynamic between Jessie and Bran – there is banter for days, and I enjoyed seeing these two grow together.

I definitely could have been immersed in the world longer (I can’t give spoilers, but major moves happen!)!

If you are looking for a Hot Vampire Neighbor and Spice, you are in the right place! Read on...

First and foremost, I am a huge fan of Nikki St. Crowe. Love all her books and recommend that you read and/or listen to them. I was given the opportunity to do an ARC read of this series. I enjoyed reading this omnibus. I have read/listened to the first 3 books of the series. I enjoyed this omnibus because it has all of the books together in one place. I am a huge fan of omnibus books.

i really like the idea behind the characters. Bran is quite sexy and he is a very desirable vampire. I struggled a little with Jessie's personality in the first book, but she definitely grew on me throughout the series. I do love how big her heart is and how much she cares for people.

I am fascinated with the way the town is its own little protected supernatural world. The mystical and the mundane all thrown together. It is quite entertaining how some of the people had the most average issues to deal with even in the realm of magic and death.

I need to explain that the main reason I only give this four stars instead of five is the trouble I had in keeping up with the way time passed. It felt like it had only been days and it felt weird how some relationships suddenly were more involved or deep and then the way people would suddenly discuss weeks having passed. It at times felt a bit confusing and that made me feel kind of like it was odd how they suddenly had this depth of love previous to the day before. I do love the overall flow and romance of this story.

There are quite a few spicy scenes so if you do not wish to read that on page then avoid this series, but if it is your desire then you will not be disappointed. I give it a 4/5 on the spicy scale.

Make sure to read the Trigger Warnings before getting into this series, it is about Vampires and supernatural creatures and is not cutesy! Your Mental Health Matters!!!!

"Secrets Drenched in Blood: The Complete Midnight Harbor Series (#1-5) by Nikki St. Crowe is a dark paranormal romance that grabbed me from the first page and didn’t let go until the very end. This collection dives deep into the mysterious town of Midnight Harbor, offering a story that’s intense, emotional, and so gripping I couldn’t stop reading."

The plot is full of surprises, high stakes, and plenty of secrets. We follow Jessie as she tries to find her place in a world that demands her loyalty, only to realize her destiny and her bloodline are much more complicated than she thought. The tension around the supernatural Houses and their dark traditions kept me on the edge of my seat.

The characters really make this series shine. Bran Duval is a wild and unforgettable main character—his possessiveness and energy are impossible to ignore. The chemistry and banter between him and Jessie felt so real. Watching Jessie grow from someone trying to run from her fate into a strong, powerful woman was especially satisfying. The series dives into themes like feminine power, bloody battles, and intense relationships, with plenty of those high-stakes moments that dark romance fans love.

I must give a massive commendation to the audio experience. Amy Hall and Jim Schubin are phenomenal narrators who truly brought the entire series to life. Their performances enhanced the intensity and emotion of every scene, making the hours fly by.

While I felt completely satisfied with the conclusion, I was genuinely sad to see this exciting journey come to an end. Nikki St. Crowe’s writing is sharp, dark, and utterly compelling. I highly recommend this series!

Disclosure: I received an Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) and an Advanced Listener Copy (ALC) from the author, Nikki St. Crowe. I had the pleasure of enjoying both the ebook and audio versions of this series."

Secrets Drenched in Blood completely owned me. This series has everything I love about dark paranormal romance, atmosphere, tension, and characters that dig their claws into you and don’t let go.

Jess and Bran’s story is magnetic. From the first page, I was pulled into the eerie, seductive world of Midnight Harbor, and I never wanted to leave. Jess’s journey from a girl resigned to her fate to a woman who stands her ground in a world built to control her was so satisfying to watch. And Bran… he’s broody, possessive, morally gray, and impossible not to fall for. Their chemistry burns slow and hot, full of longing, danger, and that kind of obsession that feels like it could ruin everything.

The writing is sharp, emotional, and addictive. The pacing never drags, and every twist feels earned. I especially loved how fully realized the side characters and friendships were, Sam deserves her own book, honestly. The supernatural politics, layered secrets, and tension between the Houses added so much depth to the story without ever pulling focus from Jess and Bran.

The audio was fantastic, too. Amy Hall and Jim Schubin brought every bit of intensity to the performances, especially during the heavier or more emotional moments. It made the world feel alive in the best way.

Nikki St. Crowe knows how to build dark, seductive worlds full of heart and danger, and Secrets Drenched in Blood might just be my favorite from her yet. I’d read it all over again just to feel that first bite of Midnight Harbor one more time.

Secrets Drenched in Blood is the complete Midnight Harbor series from Nikki St. Crowe, and I don’t mind telling you I devoured this entire ebook and audiobook! Amazingly unexpected and twisty plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat, fantastic and completely compelling characters, and super-spicy hot vampire next door goodness! What’s not to love? Bran and Jessie’s story unfolds perfectly across the five books that make up the series, keeping the reader guessing and absolutely riveted to the story. Bran Duvall is the ultimate bad boy vampire with a soft spot and absolute devotion for exactly one woman—Jessie. She does not trust easily, though, and definitely makes Bran work for it… which he secretly loves. When they finally work it out, though, they are paranormal couple goals. Jessie truly comes into her own over the course of the story, and Bran is by her side the whole way supporting her and protecting her with his possessive, touch her and ⚰️ vibe. I loved every dark, spicy, twisty minute of this ebook and audiobook! This amazing audiobook is narrated by Amy Hall and Jim Schubin. The first two books are narrated solely by Amy Hall, and the remaining books are narrated in dual narration style by both voice actors with dual POV chapters. Both of them did a phenomenal job and delivered truly incredible performances full of all the emotion and passion these compelling characters deserve. Any fan of paranormal romance will immensely enjoy this story and in all likelihood become just as obsessed with it as I am!

“If you’re a good girl tonight, maybe I’ll treat you like a bad one later.” 🫠

Secrets Drenched in Blood is the omnibus version of the Midnight Harbour series, so you can either choose to read the series in its original seasons as it was first published, or binge it all in one like I did!

Now this series is very over-the-top supernatural meets soap opera vibes, and I for one am totally here for it. It’s completely enjoyable and a perfect escape from reality.

Jessie is a human living in the isolated supernatural town of Midnight Harbor, for Jessie there’s only two choices; leave Midnight or pledge her allegiance to one of the supernatural Houses following her family lineage. With each book the world expands and we learn more about Jessie and the others in her orbit, especially the hot vampire next door Bran. Bran Duval, is both hilarious and surprising, and the black sheep of the powerful Duval House. A house which has discussed bidding on Jessie, breaking all of Midnights traditions.

Soon Jessie and Bran are teaming up to uncover the towns secrets and with Jessie spending more and more time with him the less control she has over her own desires. And when Bran finally sinks his fangs into her, everything about my life comes into question. Because her blood? It isn’t human.

This audiobook is narrated in dual format, with a narrator for both Jessie and Bran’s POV chapters and I quite enjoyed each narrator… however, I much prefer a duet narration as the story then feels more immersive.

This series is filled with fae, vampires, witches, shifters and humans and the amount of spice in this series is delectable. A perfect fantasy world to fall into.

Thank you, Nikki St. Crowe, for gifting me with an ALC of Secrets Drenched in Blood.

ARC and ALC

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💫 (4.25 stars)

Secrets Drenched in Blood by Nikki St. Crowe delivers a haunting, emotional, and tension-filled continuation that proves just how much this series has evolved. From the very first book to this final installment, we’ve watched Bran and Jessie’s relationship shift from wary attraction to something far deeper — a bond forged through chaos, betrayal, and undeniable passion. Their dynamic feels raw and beautifully flawed; you can sense how much they’ve both grown, learning to trust not just each other but the brutal world they inhabit.

Over the course of five books, every secret, every scar, and every ounce of bloodshed has led to this point — and the payoff is both gutting and satisfying. Crowe’s writing continues to walk that perfect line between darkness and devotion, showing how love can bloom even when drenched in shadow.

And then there’s Cal — the quiet, steady undercurrent of the series. His backstory is rich, tragic, and magnetic, the kind of character who lingers long after the last page. While Bran and Jessie command the spotlight, Cal is the one who quietly steals hearts in the background (mine included).

Darkly romantic, deeply emotional, and drenched in both pain and passion — this finale cements the series as a standout for anyone who loves morally gray love stories with teeth.

I started reading Jessie and Bran's story when it first came out as a chapter by chapter release. I had really enjoyed it but life got in the way and I was never was able to finish it. I'm beyond delighted to have this omnibus with all the books included so I could just binge read my way to the end. Because once I started I didn't want to stop until the very end. I loved these characters and the struggles they endured had me on the edge of my seat. The writing was phenomenal. It is so engaging and hooks you right away. It's impossible not to get attached to everyone in Midnight Harbor!

I loved Bran! So stoic and mysterious. I loved when he would let little pieces of himself shine through his broody exterior. We would get these glimpses of a softer side while also wondering who's side is he actually on?? He was depicted so well and it was so easy to visualize his mannerisms.

I really liked Jessie. She was portrayed well and came across as a down to earth and relatable character. She blossomed throughout this story and grew into a formidable character in her own right.

This was such an exciting story that gripped me from start to finish! I enjoyed every moment and every crazy twist and turn. It was intense at times and emotional at other times. I really loved it and would definitely recommend it!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Secrets Drenched in Blood is books 1-5 of the Midnight Harbor series.

Jessie is a “human” living amongst vampires, witches, wolves, & shifters who is supposed to pledge to the Vampire LockHouse to become one of their human blood bags like her older sister. She is a stubborn, sassy FMC that likes to provoke Bran & is always punished in the best ways.

Bran Duvall is her broody vampire neighbor that left the DuvallHouse to be closer to her once he came across some interesting information about her. He is a morally black MMC who is hard around the edges, but soft & would burn the world down for her.

When Jessie’s mom died, she left a letter revealing a few secrets.

When Bran bites her for the first time, he realizes her blood is off, it’s not fully human & the chaos unfolds from there.

Sometimes I thought I knew where the plot was headed & then I was mistaken more than once.

Nikki is turning into an auto read author for me. I loved The Never King + Hook/Roc/Vane series. I love her twists on popular storylines that make them truly unique & intriguing to read. Her writing for character development is great & really makes you connect with each one. Her spice delivery never misses 🥵

I do wish this was a duet instead of two different narrators playing both parts, but still a great read & listen!

Thank you so much for this ARC & ALC 🖤

I am a huge fan of Nikki St. Crowe, and this series has been on my TBR for a hot minute. It definitely gives Vampire Diaries meets True Blood vibes if both were a LOT dirtier (which is saying something for True Blood IYKYK 😂).

Bran is a complicated character to like. I both loved and hated him. He's very bossy and domineering, and that got on my nerves a bit but I can't say that I also didn't like it at least part of the time. 😉 lol His protectiveness is unmatched, but Damien with Kelly is a close second. (Do we get a Damien/Kelly book at some point?!) Jessie is an interesting FMC. I liked her, and I liked that she didn't just take orders from Bran. She gave him a run for his money, and that kept things interesting.

I really liked the house feud between Julian and Bran. I think I would have liked this book/series overall a lot more if it had stayed strictly vampires because the dynamics of their world and the characters that we met were far more interesting than the fae storyline, and I don't feel like we really got enough of it.

Overall, I enjoyed it. I'm still a Lost Boys girl first, but Nikki is always an auto-buy, go-to author for me. Thank you to Nikki for an advanced reader and listener's copy of this book!

Let’s get one thing straight if you’ve ever fantasized about Damon or Klaus suddenly moving in next door, this book is basically that fever dream come to life.
Midnight Harbor is crawling with supernatural secrets, and our girl is just trying to escape it all… until her broody (and infuriatingly hot) vampire neighbor decides to ruin those plans — with fangs, control issues, and a mouth that could start wars.

Bran Duval? Yeah, he’s got that “I’ll ruin your life but you’ll thank me for it” energy. Every scene with him feels like slow, sensual chaos. The chemistry? Unholy. The tension? Criminal.

This series is dark, seductive, and full of secrets dripping with blood and desire. It gave me all the forbidden temptation vibes I was hoping for with just enough plot twists to keep me hooked like a good midnight snack 🍷🖤

Definitely check your content warnings before diving in, but if you crave dangerous love stories with vampires who command more than just attention, Secrets Drenched in Blood will absolutely sink its fangs into you.

Now excuse me while I go stare dramatically out my window waiting for a Duval of my own 😏

This book pulls you in to an entire world you WISH you could be apart of.
I have read some of other books by Nikki St. Crowe before but it truly does amaze me that time and time again when when i have my nose in one of her books and when i finally decided to look up that it's not right infront of me.
She pulls you in and builds the world around you.
*Kinda sorta spoilers*
I love how fast Bran and Jessie's relationship is.
I loved getting the Bran POV, def had to wait for that but it so good and you can truly feeeel the obsession hehe.
Jessie, she does take a while to find her voice but she was shielded from so much so you can't really blame her but of course woman do what they do best and thrive under pressure.
i love their dynamic and how well they communicate with each other. that doesn't mean this book won't make you feel like you've been holding you're breath lol!
especially after the first 2 books is when the plot starts to fly and your kicking your feet and zooming through but also-- not wanting it to end.
I will never not recommend this author and her books it's truly amazing the worlds she builds and how amazing the love she writes is!

“He knew I had a hidden power. Surely he must have known it was something with some worth, otherwise Julian wouldn’t have gone to all the trouble.
But maybe this is worse than he thought.
Maybe I am terrifying.”

I was lucky enough to receive an ALC of this series & loved being back in Midnight Harbor! loved being back in Midnight Harbor! It gives me total Vampire Diaries vibes, which is perfect for fall. In a town full of paranormal creatures- werewolves, fae, witches, vampires- mixed amongst humans, what could possibly go wrong? Watching Jessie and Bran spar throughout the series was so fun & I loved that she didn’t back down from him when she knew she needed to know or do more. I feel like I don’t want to say too much & give things away, but I will say that I loved not having everything wrapped up at the end. I like imagining what comes next for Jessie & Bran & creating my own ending around it. I loved so many of the side characters & I’m dying to know more about Sam’s story & what comes next for her (if that is something that’s planning to be written).

If you like stories with broody vampires, paranormal worlds colliding, uncovering secrets & the feeling of maybe there’s a bigger reason why you feel you don’t belong, you’ll enjoy Jessie & Bran’s story.

I really like that the complete collection of this series is available in one audiobook. This allowed me to just keep listening and not lose momentum with the series as one book ended and the next one began. What really did make the audiobook enjoyable are the two narrators, Amy and Jim. I thought they both did really good jobs of voicing the characters. This included Amy voicing male characters.

I do like Jessie and Bran together. Although, I do have to admit that it took me a bit warmer to warm up to Jessie than Bran. Instantly, I liked Bran as soon as I met him. This is because he has a cocky side to him. I am a sucker for cocky, handsome men, even vampire men.

I became more invested in Bran, Jessie, and this world as the stories progressed. This omnibus is a romantasy. So the story is more of the focal point with touches of spice here and there. If you like strong stories and engaging characters, where the MMC sinks he teeth into you. you will want to turn up the volume on this audiobook.

Wow this book is so underrated and it was the perfect series to put me in a Halloween mood!

I need to more vampire books asap.

Bran and Jessie are perfection. I love Bran so much, the perfect hot vampire next door.

Every other side character had me intrigued and wanting to read their book. Like Cal and Sam, I’m already obsessed with them. Please tell me there is a book for them already.

Here are some of my favourite scenes and quotes!!!

Spoilers ////// ⚠️⚠️⚠️⚠️

I chose Bran and I love Bran, but goddamn, Cal is hot. I swallow hard and Bran wraps his hand around the back of my neck and brings me close, his mouth at my ear. “Careful, little mouse. I will lock you in a room if I must.”

“I want to stay,” I admit. “With you. I want to stay with you.”

“Don’t leave.” “Why?” The glow in his eyes intensifies as he grits his teeth as if me making him elaborate is a discomfort he doesn’t want to endure. “Why Bran?” “Because I don’t want you to.”
