Fairy Tales of Westhaven #3

A Dream Enchanted: Sleeping Beauty Retold

Rate this book
For Rosamund, happily ever after isn’t hidden in her dreams. It is locked inside her nightmares, waiting to be fought for.

Rosamund came to Westhaven Academy to learn about history, art, and magic. Instead, she learns that the dragon that hunts her every night isn’t just a dream. It’s a faery curse, and time is running out.

Prince Thain has been living a lie, pretending to wield magic to stay at Westhaven and become the son his father always wanted. But he knows the deception can’t last. When a mysterious alchemist offers him the chance to slay a dragon and save the beautiful new stranger, Thain seizes it. At last, he can be the true hero he has always longed to be. But the curse is hungry, and it may claim his life before he claims her heart.

A Dream Enchanted is a clean romantic retelling of Sleeping Beauty. Part of the Fairy Tales of Westhaven, where each book is a standalone tale of love and magic in a shared world.

Perfect for fans of K.M. Shea and Melanie Cellier, this story blends forbidden secrets, tender romance, and the hope of true love’s triumph.

This was such a fun and enjoyable read!!
The world building was simple yet immersive and the characters were likeable. It’s such a short book so I thought it was very well executed for what it was. I loved the setting of the school and I honestly wanted even more 🤭 It was super fast paced and the plot was constantly exciting.
I would recommend this book for teenagers like myself, but perhaps not older readers ⤷ depending on the specific person’s reading taste ofc but it’s just that this book feels quite juvenile. Not a complaint though because I really liked this read.

Read this if you like:

A Dream Enchanted is a cute, whimsical, romantic YA fairytale that retells Sleeping Beauty in an academic setting. It is a short book (less than 250 pages), yet it still manages to pack a lot into a small space. I finished it in one night. The pace felt slow, although not in a way that pulled me out of the story. The main characters, Rosamund and Prince Thain, are written very well. There were a few moments when Rosamund seemed a bit naive, but I still liked her character. Thain was my favorite throughout the entire book. He is flawed yet determined to prove himself, and that was refreshing to read.I enjoyed the supporting characters too, especially Silas. One of the best things about this book is the clean romance, which I appreciate.✨
I am giving it four stars because the ending felt a little rushed. It could have been smoother. It is a cute, whimsical fairytale that will likely appeal most to teens or young adults. Readers who are older than that may find it slightly too youthful.
Overall, if you are looking for a book to pull you out of a reading slump, this can be a great option.

Thank you, BookSirens and author, for this ARC

I really enjoyed this. I thought it was really cute.

A Dream Enchanted is a Sleeping Beauty retelling, and I have to say it was really cute how the book changed some things up. Our FMC is Rosamund, and I found her to be very well written. She was a bit naive, but she was also very sheltered in the forest growing up, but she really grew into her strength and courage.

Our MMC is Prince Thain, and I really enjoy his arc as well. Him and Rosamund didn't go through a typical enemy to lover type thing. Their issues get resolved pretty fast, which I like.

I really enjoyed the other cast of characters, and there are some well placed red herrings put in as well too.

I gave this book a 4 star rating, in fate its probably closer to a 3.75 only because I'm older than the target audience and some stuff felt a bit juvenile as well as some things felt rushed especially closer to the end, maybe one more chapter before epilogue to just close things out a bit smoother. If I was a teen reading this, it would probably be 5 stars are higher. I really enjoyed this book and honestly might pick up the authors other work as well

A solid 4⭐️
This was a cute whimsical retelling of Sleeping Beauty with an academy setting twist (plus a dragon 🐉). Definitely YA, with just a touch of romance. For a book that's less than 250 pages, it packs a lot in a short time.

Rosamund has been cursed with the same dream over and over, being hunted by a dragon. A curse and a dream that's killing her. Almost 16, she is finally attending Westhaven Academy.

I think Thain is my favorite character. He's flawed but wants to prove himself. He isn't perfect at everything, which is nice to see.

I would have like to see a little more world building, especially with academy and curse. However, as a YA book and with a younger intended audience, it's probably not needed.
Thank you for choosing me to be an ARC Reader.

I thoroughly enjoyed this new take on a classic fairytale! The dual POV of the book allowed the reader to know more than the characters and heightened the feelings of tension. There were references to other tales which made me feel even more immersed in the experience of this world.

The one thing that took me away from the story was the lack of a spinning wheel. I feel like this is a central aspect of the Sleeping Beauty fairytale and this story didn't have it. I don't think this lack took away from the story, but it would have felt more complete if this had been incorporated in some way.

Reader’s Notes:

*Series or Connected Books?* is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone

*Point Of View:* Rosamund & Thain

*Any Cursing Or Possibly Offensive Language?* None!

*Romance?* Yes! Just sweet kisses

*Things To Know:*

–there is some fantasy violence and a few mentions of blood/injuries

Review:

This was more like 4.5 stars for me as the summary said this could be read as a stand-alone, but I felt like there was something missing from the world building mentioned in this book (though I couldn’t put my finger on what aspect). Though overall I did enjoy it!

This was my first read by Adelle Summers and I loved the way she twisted the Sleeping Beauty tale! I really enjoyed the dream world Rosamund kept visiting and how it grew throughout the story. I also enjoyed the fact that Rosamund & Thain were attending an academy and that’s how they grew to know each other. The academy and it’s teachers/students were also interesting with the magical and non magical aspects as well. I’m curious to find out if we find out anything more about the mysterious professor who knew right away what would/wouldn’t work for Rosamund’s curse and his apprentice!

I’m interested to see what happens in Adelle Summers’s other books!

Summary:

Rosamund grew up among her faery caretakers and plagued by a constant dream that would steal her chances at a good night’s sleep. But when she goes to join Westhaven Academy in order to learn more from the world outside the cottage, Rosamund discovers that everything she knew is less than what was really out there in the world. And her biggest surprise comes when she discovers her never ending dream is not just a dream, but a faery curse meant to consume her life. And with no known cure, all she can do is wait for it to finish the job.

Prince Thain has been living a lie in order to make his father proud. At Westhaven, you either train in magic (because you have it) or you learn things outside of magic (because you don’t have it). But Thain has managed to convince almost everyone around him that he has magic, despite never actually knowing what it’d be like to wield magic of his own. And the only person who knows is his best friend who reluctantly helps keep up the farce. Though when Thain meets Rosamund, he wants to be truthful with her – especially when one of their classmates paints Thain to be a cruel brute. But if he were to break the illusion he’s held onto, Thain worries that it’d be the end of his father’s approval and the others around him.

A Magical Retelling with Dragon Fire and Tender Hearts

Adelle Summers’ A Dream Enchanted breathes new life into the Sleeping Beauty tale — romantic, lyrical, and shimmering with enchantment. It’s a story that keeps the classic fairytale bones intact, yet adds just enough magic and personal growth to make it feel fresh. This version doesn’t just deliver the spindle, the curse, or the awakening — it also lets the heroine discover strength, self‑worth, and even the possibility of love that goes deeper than just happily ever after.

One of the most delightful shifts in this retelling is the inclusion of dragons. They aren’t just background scenery; they bring both majesty and danger, a kind of wildness that underscores the stakes. When dragons stir, the air crackles with tension — and those moments are some of the most exciting in the book. Summers uses them to heighten the sense of magic, to show what’s at risk, and to deepen the wonder in moments of rescue or revelation.

It’s a very sweet romance. The prince or rose‑knight (whatever form he takes here) isn’t perfect, but he’s gentle, devoted, and real in his flaws. The heroine is kind, brave in her own quiet way, and her journey is just as much about waking herself — not just being awakened. Those bits are quietly powerful, and they give the story heart. The prose is soft and dreamy; it makes you want to curl up near the fire, imagine castles, petals, firelight, and wings.

That said, there are a few places where the pacing slows a bit — the build‑up to tension drifts in some middle sections. Also, the role of the dragons, while beautiful, sometimes feels under‑explored: I wanted more scenes of their personalities, more myths around them. But even so, the moments that are there sparkle.

Overall, A Dream Enchanted: Sleeping Beauty Retold is a warm, magic‑lit fairytale, sweet and comforting — with enough dragon fire to stir your pulse. If you love dreamy retellings, fairytale romance, and creatures that soar, this book will charm you. Four stars for this lovely, dragon‑tinged twist on a beloved story.

Short but sweet. But I would not say that this story doesn't make an impact. It is a Sleeping Beauty Retelling, and I love the way the story is told. There is romance, there's magic, there's curses. We do not get the entire story of the realm and what happened in the past, but I feel like the author left it open enough at the end that it could definitely continue fairly easily. There's not a lot of world building, but there is at least a foundation. All in all, I feel like this book is a good quick read, and something that could be expanded upon in future books.

This could have very easily been a 5🌟 read for me if there had been more world building, and a bit more fantasy. I would also liked to have seen a bit more backstory into Rosamund and her life, both before and after the curse.

You follow Rosamund, who has been living away from humans for as long as she can remember. She has a recurring dream every night, she is in a castle and shortly after she arrives there she hears a roar. There's a dragon coming to kill her, and when it successfully finds her she awakes. But near her 16th birthday, she gets the chance to go to the Academy where the humans learn magic, alchemy and many other subjects. She sticks out like a sore thumb, as she has grown up very differently than everyone around her.

After her arrival at the academy, she learns that while she thought she was here to learn, she is here for a different reason; she has a curse, and if the curse is not broken she will die. With the help of an alchemic teacher's assistant, and a crown prince, she has to find a way to slay the dragon and break her curse. But everything is not as it seems, and she quickly learns that there is more to her curse than the dragon.

A Dream Enchanted: Sleeping Beauty Retold by Adelle Summers

⭐️⭐️ 2/5
🌶️ 0/5

"A Dream Enchanted: Sleeping Beauty Retold" is a book I really wanted to love. For the first 100 pages of the book I felt like I was given too much information with little to no connection between it. This book had such a promising concept with a dark, magical Sleeping Beauty retelling set in an academy full of secrets and curses. Unfortunately, while the premise intrigued me, the execution just didn’t land the way I hoped. I would like to say this book isn't bad, It's just not for me!

Rosamund is a sweet protagonist with an interesting setup. Her nightmares, the faery curse, and the mystery surrounding the dragon had real potential, but she doesn't have a striking personality and that made me lose interest. Prince Thain, on the other hand, felt underdeveloped but was a bit more interesting. His desire to prove himself and the deception he maintains could have made for a complex character arc, but it never went deep enough to make me care.

The pacing felt rushed, with lots of fast resolutions, which made it lose some impact for me, while the romance felt a little superficial. It reminded me of a story that wants to be epic and emotional but never quite gets there. The worldbuilding was interesting in theory but not fleshed out enough to pull me fully in. By the end, I felt more detached than enchanted.

Overall, A Dream Enchanted is a creative idea that just needed more tension, emotion, and development to really shine. I believe the author had a lot of potential in this story and just needed to develop it more. I hope this review is helpful and my opinion doesn't reflect this book's value. It could be some people's favorite read this year. I wish the author all the success in the world.✨

Hi, first, thanks to the author. I enjoyed reading A Dream Enchanted and loved Rosamund and Thain's story. Now, let's start with the review.
--
The approach to fairy tales is interesting since the aesthetic was very The School of Good and Evil. And the main plot was a classic fairytale, the damsel in distress trope, but the academy background and the characters' profiles gave the storyline much more depth than just a "happily ever after" style of fantasy and more of a mystery.
--
About the MMC, I loved how his personality wasn't shown as only a "prince charming" but as a person with flaws and dreams. I empathized with him, and it's well written since it describes a balanced and real character, which gives contrast to the "fairytale" style of plot.
--
Also, Rosamund was an intriguing FMC. I liked her being unique and honest about herself but also showing doubt about belonging with others different from her. I think that small detail made her relatable.
--
I loved the development of the plot; the way each part of the plot connects to the next development makes it easier to keep reading. Also, I love the emphasis on being truthful and the importance of candor, since now every book has a morally ambiguous character.
--
I did not expect the ending, although it wasn't crazy, since the narrative of the MC's story didn’t lead towards that epilogue. The ending makes the reader want to read more, which, by the way, how am I supposed to wait for the next part?

Thank you to BookSirens and the author/publisher for allowing me to read this ARC.
I was pleasantly surprised by this book!
To be honest, I was sort of expecting to be let down by another slow, boring book- but I was highly entertained and read almost all of the book in one night! (it is currently after 2am as I am writing this review)
When I read that this was a Sleeping Beauty retelling, and I got through the first few chapters, I was expecting to be presented with a predictable ending, but the twists you have to go through before you reach the actual ending of the book is perfection. My attention was held very tightly by the author, haha.
I really appreciate the fact that the characters featured in this book grow and change throughout the story to become better versions of themselves.
My only criticisms (and thus the reasons I did not rage this book 5 stars) are 1, I was mildly confused for the first few chapters, and I kept losing track of where I was and what was happening (but this could just be the result of a new fantasy book?), and 2, I felt the ending left much more to be desired of all the main characters, but I understand that the ending may be the way it is to leave an opening for a continuation of the story in the future. Admittedly, I don't know much about this author or her other works, so maybe my criticism is just a lack of understand for the author, but besides those minor things, it really is a fantastic story!

A cozy Sleeping Beauty retelling with college romance vibes

This was such an enjoyable, light read! Adelle Summers blends the Sleeping Beauty framework with a college setting and romantasy elements in a way that just works. The world-building intrigued me enough that I’ve already added the rest of the series to my TBR.

What I loved:

- The MMC’s POV chapters were a highlight

- The chemistry and dynamic between the main characters was genuinely engaging

- Easy, binge-worthy pacing perfect for a cozy read

What didn’t quite work for me:

- The “lost betrothed” reveal felt like a convenient setup for instalove, which I’m not a huge fan of

- The archmage best friend felt a bit overpowered—though honestly, I’d love to see more of his adventures in future books!

- Characters lean black and white (clear good vs evil), which fits the cozy vibe but lacks nuance

- The elves who raised the FMC just… disappeared? I really wanted closure on that storyline within this book rather than leaving it hanging

Despite these quibbles, I genuinely enjoyed the reading experience and I’m curious enough about the shared world to continue the series. If you’re looking for light, comforting romantasy without too much angst, this delivers!

This is a fairy tale sleeping beauty reimagining and I thought it was very magical and well done in a way to make the story unique and with changes to the original story that made it unpredictable what would happen without taking away from the original elements that made the story special in itself. The story follows Rosamund who was raised by fairies and enters a school that contains all different people some with magic and some without but containing other interesting skills. She meets Thain who is a student of magic and a prince but has a lot of his own secrets and connections to her that neither of them saw coming. Together they must solve the mystery of a terrible dream she’s had her whole life where a black dragon chases her through a castle and eventually will kill her if they are unable to solve how to conquer the dragon it could happen mean both of their lives will be lost. I really didn’t know what they would need to do or how they’d eventually get to the bottom of any of their problems but I really enjoyed how it all came together. It was a little long winded at times but also not that long at all and could be a quick whimsical read for someone that loves fairytale retelling.

We have a lot of Sleeping Beauty retellings out there. Some good and some not so good. This one sounded interesting enough to give it a try and with it being on the shorter side, why not give it a chance? The cover also added to getting me interested with it being beautiful. On top of that is a shorter read, which I appreciate and enjoy in between my 600ish page books :)

I like this one. It didn't get too complex but had enough world and character building in there to get a general understand of where we are and who our main characters are. With it being a Sleeping Beauty retelling, the overall arc is pretty clear. We get a cursed princess and a not so typical prince that is the only one who can save her from this course. And we're adding a dragon into the mix :)

Overall, we're getting a story of two unlikely characters that are stuck (each in their own way), meet each other, like each other and learn along the way how to become a better version of themselves. It's about growing up, leaving expectations behind, and accepting yourself for who you are.

If you are looking for a nice pallet cleanser in between, which does not require too much brain power, this is a good one.

Princes and damsels and dragons, oh my! Sleeping Beauty is reimagined as a clean romantic fantasy as part of the Fairy Tales of Westhaven series of standalones.

Rosamund has the same dream every night. A dragon chases her. When she arrives at Westhaven, she learns a hard truth: it's not just a dream, it's the manifestation of a lifelong curse.

Prince Thain has been faking magic ability with the help of his close friend Silas. But when Silas gets reclassified as an Archmage, his secret is threatened to be revealed.

WOW.

I'm not sure what it was I expected out of this story, but what I got far exceeded it all. Adelle Summers kept me guessing the entire way through. Every time I thought I figured it out, another twist threw me back to the figurative Square One. It's not often I find a book that starts me on the edge of my seat and keeps me there with every page, but this one did just that. Even the epilogue held a twist I could never have predicted! (Okay, I did predict, but I predicted incorrectly.) Well done on this story. Very well done. I kinda want to give it SIX stars. And I think I will.

ARC Review of “A Dream Enchanted” by Adelle Summers

⭐ 3.5/5 Stars

“A Dream Enchanted” is a clean, romantic Sleeping Beauty retelling with a magical academy setting, fae curses, a dash of danger, and a touch of dragon fire. It has all the elements of a comforting fairytale while still feeling fresh and engaging.

I really enjoyed the dreamy, whimsical tone of this story - it felt like stepping into a soft, candlelit world full of secrets and hope. Rosamund and Thain’s dual perspectives added a lot of heart, especially as they both wrestled with courage, honesty, and the weight of expectation. Their connection grew slowly and sweetly, and I loved watching them find strength in each other as the stakes rose.

While I did find myself wishing for a bit more depth and detail about the fae history and secondary characters, the story still flowed beautifully. The ending left me curious to see what other tales might unfold in this world!

Thank you BookSirens and Adelle Summers for the eARC in exchange for my honest review. All opinions are my own ♡

5 stars. This one felt like slipping into a soft dream you never want to wake up from. The entire story has this tender glow to it, the kind that settles right in your chest and stays there. Rosamund’s journey is gentle but full of depth, and watching her navigate this enchanted world felt like watching someone slowly remember their own worth. Every little detail felt intentional, almost like the author wove the magic in by hand.

The romance is sweet in that slow-blooming way that catches you off guard, and the emotional moments are warm without ever feeling heavy. I loved the way the world wrapped around her, full of charm and whimsy but grounded in real feelings and real longing. It’s the kind of fairytale that makes you believe in softness again.

By the end, I just sat there for a moment, smiling like a fool because it had completely swept me away. It felt hopeful and comforting, like a story that reminds you of everything good.

Tropes: sleeping beauty vibes, soft magic, quiet longing, slow blooming romance, fairytale retelling charm, gentle adventure

A beautiful retelling of Sleeping Beauty!

Adelle Summers took the tale of Sleeping Beauty and made it her own. I really do love fairytales and this one is very beautifully told. Sadly, Rosamund doesn’t remember anything prior to being raised by three fairies. However, she has the same nightmare every night—she’s in a castle, one she’s designed, until a dragon chases her. At least she always wakes up before it eats her. Then we have Prince Thain, a very handsome prince due to inherit from his father. Sadly, Thain has no magic, unlike his father. There is everything in this story that a good fairytale has—a lesson to be learned, a princess to be rescued, a handsome prince to do the rescuing and the best part of all—dragons! The writing style just fits the story beautifully, the world building is spot on and the plot just pulled me into the story and did let go.

Thank you Adele Summers for an advanced copy of the book. This review is all in my own and my own opinion.

Captivating book from the very beginning! Once I started to read it I didn’t want to put it down. I loved how the author took the key elements of Sleeping Beauty and made it her own.

Rosamund the female main character was dynamic and not a flat character. She went through her own trial while visiting her dreams while being asleep. While, Thain was learning more about himself everyday. He was learning not to tell lies, and that truth in the long run is what really matters.

If I had to change one thing, I would include the classic spindle and needle, rather than creating her own curse since that’s the main part of the line. But this doesn’t break it for me! The curse she created added her own twist and flare to the storyline.

This is a book I enjoyed and can’t wait to read another one of hers!

A Dream Enchanted is a beautifully atmospheric retelling that puts a fresh, emotional spin on Sleeping Beauty. Adelle Summers’ writing is lush and dreamy, and the worldbuilding feels like stepping into a fairytale that’s just a little darker around the edges. I loved the unique magic system and the way the story weaves destiny, longing, and impossible choices together.

The romance is sweet with just enough tension to keep me turning pages, and the twist on the original curse adds depth that surprised me in the best way. While some pacing moments felt a bit slow and a few scenes could have hit harder, the overall journey was enchanting and immersive.

This is a perfect pick for readers who love classic fairytales reimagined with heart, soft magic, and a touch of danger. A gentle, magical retelling that left me satisfied and wanting to explore more of Summers’ work.

Thanks Book Sirens, as I received this ARC for my honest and voluntary review.

What to say about this book? I enjoyed reading it. It was actually a light and short read, and I must say I enjoy classic princess retellings. I liked the new take on the dream part of Sleeping Beauty, and how the dragon was portrayed.

However I can’t say this book was amazing. It felt a bit rushed, and I would have loved much more context on our leads backstory, as well as see more of the conflict on why they didn’t trust each other first. There were some parts also that felt somewhat dull, and would have benefited from adding stronger emotions to reinforce the mood and point of the scene.

I must say this can be aimed to a younger audience, teenagers starting to read a bit more complex stories.

Good reading, just not amazing 👍🏼

If I was the intended demographics age range, I would give this book 5 stars. For young teens, this is a magical adventure that wouldn't overwhelm them with too much world building and complexity. Even so, I very much enjoyed it, 3.75 stars. The plot is an intriguing take on sleeping beauty, and I always love an academia setting. As an adult reader, however, I want a slower pace with more detail and character building to really immerse myself in their world. I feel like this could be made into an adult fantasy so easily and I would read it again! The epilogue has me desiring to read the next book, assuming there is one, and the two prior books for context into the Westhaven realm. I would and will thoroughly recommend this to young fantasy readers. I am grateful to have received an advance review copy for free, courtesy of BookSirens, and I am leaving my review voluntarily.

I heard this was a sleeping beauty retelling and because that's one of my favorite fairytales I was really exited I was allowed to read this book.

When I started reading I was very curious where the story was taking me. I love the caracters and I really felt what they were feeling. Something made me also so angry I almost wanted to throw my E-reader away (Luckily I didn't).

It was a short book, so I couldn’t dive deeper into the caracters and the plotline, wich I really wished I could. I don't know if this is going to be a series or a stand-alone, but if it is a series I would like it to continue with the same caracters and not an interconnected series, because I feel like the storie isn't over yet. Beside this, I absolutely enjoyed this story, it was full of action, romance and curses.

Disclaimer: I read this book for free on my e-reader and I got it from BookSirens

3.5 stars.

A gorgeous retelling of sleeping beauty with some clever tweaks and turns.

If I was the intended demographic I think I’d have lapped this up. That being said - read this in a single morning; so I hope that tells you enough about how I enjoyed it.

The story is an easy read. The characters are likeable and easy visualise. The setting works but the world isn’t built in any vast detail. The love story is sweet and not too over the top. I really enjoyed how the Prince has to go into the dream. And it’s super clear when the dragon is slayed, only half way through, that there is much more to come and it doesn’t disappoint.

If you fancy an easy, enjoyable retelling of a fairy tale - this is the book for you.

Hello, people!
This is a retelling of the story "Sleeping Beauty". Therefore, for those who like fairy tales it is a must read. For those who don't like it, it is a very good opportunity to get in touch with a story - that has grown up for generations - for adults this time.
The protagonists are Rosamund and Thain.
This is a short book. The story is sweet and all the heroes contribute something to the plot and have their role. Also, the addition of dragons gives a freshness to the story. As for the author's writing, it is warm, tender, direct, concise and emotional.
Overall, I enjoyed the book and became attached to the heroes. I would definitely like to read more of her books.

Thank you very much to the author and BookSirens for the eARCs!

This is my honest review!

ARC REVIEW

Wow, I didn't expect I would love this book so much. Friendship, love, found family, everything is here in this book.

Can I be honest? I didn't like Rosamund at first but after the misunderstanding was resolved between her and Thain, I grew to love her so much. She's a sweet girl to everyone.

Thain? Perfect. No magic? Still perfect. I love him. Willing to die for his girl? That's him right there.

Silas? Oooh, this man right here. Cares about his best friend so much that I felt bad when they were in bad term for a while. I need his book. Where's his book?

Not so much magic in this book but still feel magical regardless.

4.25 star. A good short retelling read

The story was there but it was lacking more substance that could've made this a four or five star read. The world-building was almost non-existent and almost felt like it was relying too much on the reader to know all about Sleeping Beauty - which I understand this is a re-telling but that shouldn't mean that you leave out information. I wish there was more when it came to Rosamund and Thain learning about one another and falling for each other instead of the insta-love we got. The ending also left me desiring more in regard to the king/queen/princess. Throughout the book I felt like it needed so much more substance instead of just instantly resolving issues.

Thanks to BookSirens and the author for the eArc.

This book is part of the Fairy Tales of Westhaven. It’s a Sleeping Beauty retelling. This story had drama, romance, mystery and lessons and the truth. This book has strong, well-developed characters and an interesting story line that keeps you turning the pages. Great characters that make the story come alive. Pain and passion radiate from them. The plot draws you in so that you can’t put the book down because you need to know what will happen next. This review is based on an early review copy I was sent by the publisher, but this didn't affect the content of my review that I am voluntarily providing.

A Dream Enchanted is a teen/young adult retelling of The Sleeping Beauty.

Rosamund dreams nightly of a dragon intent on killing her. Sent to Westhaven Academy, she learns that the dragon dream is a curse that will eventually kill her. Prince Thain is asked to slay the dragon to save her. Thain has been pretending for a long time and he hopes that saving Rosamund will redeem him.

The book is appropriate for the intended audience, although I would have liked the academy aspects to have been more fleshed out. There are some nice twists and turns towards the end.
