Couple’s therapist Nella Praxitelis knows all about love – in theory. In practice? Not so much. Especially after discovering her boyfriend’s been cheating… just hours before he planned to propose.
With her life in tatters, Nella moves back in with her Greek family, only for her little sister to announce she’s getting married… in three weeks. And the best man? Mark Marino, the OG bad boy – tall, brooding, and the older brother of Nella’s late first love. Also, he kinda hates her, but it’s okay because the feeling’s mutual.
As maid of honour, Nella is forced to team up with Mark for dance lessons, formal dinners, and a chaotic stag-and-hen trip to Cyprus. But underneath the barbs, undeniable chemistry simmers, pushing Nella to confront a risk her heart again or stick to dealing with other people’s love lives.
Christina was born in London to Greek Cypriot parents, and has just about forgiven them for sending her to Greek school every Saturday for ten years. She studied English at the University of Sussex and went on to become a journalist reporting on the TV industry where her career highlight was being offered a Rothman’s by a well-known soap baddie.
She lives in Bucks with her husband, and her hobbies include thinking about tidying the kitchen, collecting Clubcard vouchers but forgetting to use them before they expire, and getting locked out of her Canva account.
Her debut novel Love Songs for Sceptics, set in the world of music journalism, was nominated for Romantic Comedy of the Year at the RNA Romantic Novel Awards.
Her second novel Bad Boy Summer, about a couples therapist whose love life is a mess, is out in June 2026.
Bad Boy Summer follows couples therapist Nell, whose life begins to unravel when she discovers her boyfriend has been cheating. Things only get more complicated when she heads home to regroup and learns her sister is getting married in three weeks, with the best man being the brother of her late high‑school boyfriend. It’s a lot for Nell to face all at once, and I loved watching her navigate the emotional chaos.
Nell’s character really worked for me. She’s a people‑pleaser through and through, often shelving her own feelings to keep the peace, and I found that so relatable. The book shows how putting yourself first can feel selfish, even when it’s actually necessary!
Mark initially reads like your classic hunky MMC, but there’s definitely more to him beneath the surface. He has a sweetness about him, in among the confidence and charm, that I really warmed to. There was just something about him that I loved and his chemistry with Nell was really fun to read, I enjoyed his easy humour and the way their dynamic grew.
I did think the “brother of her late boyfriend” element might put me off, but it’s handled in a way that feels surprisingly natural rather than odd or uncomfortable.
There were a few heavier moments I wished had been explored a little more, and one subplot that didn’t quite work for me, but it didn’t take away from my overall enjoyment.
The family element was lovely, they were so lively and full of personality. I adored the Greek family energy and their bonds felt so special, they added a lovely warmth to the story.
The portrayal of anxiety and OCD was so thoughtful. As someone who deals with similar anxiety, I really appreciated seeing it represented with care. It was one of the most touching parts of the book for me.
Overall, this is a heartfelt, summery romance with characters I genuinely rooted for. A comforting and fun read!
You’d think as a Couple’s Therapist, Nella would be able to identify when her own boyfriend is cheating on her? Right? Just as she thinks he’s going to propose, his infidelity is uncovered and her world is turned upside down. She’s back in her parent’s house and to further compound her crisis, she arrives back to the news that her little sister is engaged and the weddings is actually only a few weeks away. Oh and the best man is the older brother of her first love - and they hate each other!
Nella was such a strong FMC who worked through a lot of issues in this book - stemming from the death of her childhood boyfriend, to her partner cheating and her relationship with Mark. I really enjoyed the arc she went through in this one!
Mark is the titular ‘Bad Boy’ - perhaps a moniker better suited to his younger days than the character we meet here. As a he’s a renowned doctor and to be honest seems to be a nice guy! As the brother of her dead childhood boyfriend and the way he lashed out at her following his death, there’s a lot of animosity in their first meet ups. He’s also dealing with the lasting trauma of his abusive father and the breakdown of his own relationship. Everyone loves a guy with a sense of humour and Mark was hilarious! Again, I loved his character progression throughout.
As they get closer secrets are revealed and old sparks are reignited - from dance lessons, to pool parties the pair are repeatedly placed into close quarters. Underneath all that animosity tensions rise - will their ‘true’ feelings be revealed? And how can they reconcile that with their complicated history - namely he’s the brother of her late first love. Can she risk her heart again?
This was such a fun read - perfect for holiday escapism with the vacation vibes. In my opinion the standout aspect of this book is its humour - with hilarious one liners, the author has such a good comedic tone that gave this the perfect romcom tone. You believe in their romance because their banter makes it easy going. And yes there is more serious elements and themes - but overall it was the perfect summer read with plenty of spice, enemies to lovers and forced proximity. All in the backdrop of a vacation and a Greek Family Wedding.

The sentence "In terms of gender equality, the Greek Cypriots of London are roughly on a par with the Taliban" killed my enthusiasm for continuing to read this story. It feels icky and weird, and a few people validated my concern which makes my feelings about it feel..valid. Dnf.
If you like: 🌞 enemies to lovers 🌞 families with big hearts 🌞 weddings 🌞 holidays 🌞 spice - very spicy! 🌶 Then this one's for you.
Nella Praxitelis is a couples therapist who discovers her boyfriend has been cheating...how does she analyse that? By moving out and back home to her family, only to find out her little sister is getting married ... in three weeks time! Not only that, she will be maid of honour and the best man is none other than sworn enemy and hottest Greek/Sicilian she's ever known, Mark Marino, who takes tall, dark and handsome to another level! Add in a joint stag/hen to Cyprus and dance lessons including the Argentine Tango and the temperatures just keep rising!
This was a brilliant read! I was hooked from the funny first page and just knew it was going to be a good. There was something so straight talking about Nella, but also another layer of heart and emotion that you just want everything to work out well for her.
The Greek family dynamics are entertaining and heartwarming and the way Nella and her siblings look out for eachother is so lovely, there is such a strong bond.
Nella and Mark...now there's a combination! I wasn't sure what would happen with these two and must admit, I didn't think it would go the way it did, but there was a whole other level to Mark that really opens your eyes. The late night event by the pool had me gasping and holding my breath (and there may have been a few tears!) hoping and wishing for the best outcome.
This was written in such an addictive way, a just one more chapter kind of book that I finished it in almost one sitting.
A strong 5 stars from me. Add it to your holiday shopping list!
This was such a perfect read for the beautiful summer weather we’re having in the UK at the moment!
I really enjoyed this book, it was a cute and easy read that had me constantly wanting to read on. I loved the family dynamics and banter they all had with each other. The found family was so wholesome too 🥺
The FMC Nella, is a couples therapist. Someone who knows all about love and relationships but when she suddenly finds out that her boyfriend who she has been with for a long time is cheating on her, her life falls upside down. I found myself feeling sorry for Nella’s character a lot. She’s very harsh on herself and almost her own worst enemy as she always feels like she should be better.
The MMC Mark, is a heart surgeon with a troubled past. It was interesting to see the link between Nella and Mark in the past through Leo. Mark’s brother and Nella’s ex boyfriend. The events that occurred previously were quite traumatic for both of them and it makes sense that they’re wanting every possible opportunity to avoid each other and not interact. It was really nice getting to know Mark’s character more as the book went on. Once his walls came down and the relationship developed, he was a real sweetheart.
Let me tell you this book was a slowwwwwwww burn but I felt it was a breath of fresh air. I didn’t feel like Nella and Mark were the type of couple to instantly get together, they needed to work through their problems first but once they got together, they were PERFECT!
I ate this book up in 48 hours and totally loved it !! This is totally a book I recommend people to read during summer . All you will need a your book/kindle and a diet coke (*winks *)
If you are like me, going into a story thinking it will be a usual story with some drama, then you are all wrong. This book taps into all sorts of emotions -from making me angry, cry, laugh, sad and most importantly brought a smile to my face at the end (and also happy tears ) . I would say it was a hell of a ride, but in a good way .
(How the story starts ):Nella finds out that his boyfriend is cheating on her and confronts him . She later moves into her parents' house, and there she got the news that her younger sister is getting married in three weeks, and the best man is Mark. Mark, who is actually her late ex-boyfriend's brother. After 15 years, meeting him face to face brought back a lot of memories. Will they sort out their problem is the actual question !!!
Mark and Nella have a history together. From the very beginning, their chemistry was packed with lots of banter, emotional issues but most importantly, slow burn . Nella our fmc is a couple therapist who wants to publish her book, whereas Mark is a surgeon who is planning to shift to Venezuela after his friend’s wedding.I loved how both of them started to open up to each other throughout the story. And understood how the past 15 years in their life have affected and changed them as a person. The understanding and bonding were built brick by brick, and we are able to see it throughout the story. Nella understanding Mark’s past was surely a turning point in the story and led to her character growth.Wheras in Mark’s case he understood how much he had affected her (emotionally and mentally ) by choosing the wrong choice of words 15 years ago .I love their story was not linear but filled with a lot of learning and understanding another person .
What I love about this story ->Trip to Cyprus and Greece Family get-togethers -> Nella’s chaotic yet sweet family ( her mother, father and her relationship with her 3 siblings) -> correct ocd diagonosis (side character) -> character growth in Nella -> Both MLs slowly took their time to open their feelings and past (and understood each other better)
So if you are looking for a story to read this summer, where there is a lot of slow burn , (wrong )tango dance session practice , chaotic wedding preparation , soaking in all before going back to real life moment and spark that could be felt through your kindle . Then this is the book for you . AND REMEMBER READ THIS BOOK WITH A DIET COKE (*winks again *)
I'd pick this book up when I want to switch my brain off and sink into something warm, breezy, and genuinely fun. Christina Prishiris delivers a sweet, summery romance that leans fully into escapism, with laugh-out-loud moments and a lightness that makes it easy to race through the pages.
The strength of the novel lies in its humour. It feels natural and the banter gives the story a sense of ease and charm. It’s the sort of rom-com energy that makes you smile without quite realising you’re doing it, and that tone carries the book beautifully. The romance itself is playful and comforting, with enough emotional beats to keep it engaging without tipping into angst. As a summer read, it absolutely does what it sets out to do.
For something that essentially sets the whole story in motion, it’s brushed aside surprisingly quickly. The main character’s response feels too forgiving and unresolved. This creates a tonal disconnect: the book seems to want that conflict to matter, but then moves past it before it’s been properly explored or earned. I can see it maybe reflects our main character's growth and emotional maturing since the beginning if the book, not sure it quite hit the target though?
It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does stand out because the rest of the book is so thoughtful in its emotional pacing. A bit more reflection or consequence around that subplot would have added depth and made the resolution feel more satisfying.
Overall, Bad Boy Summer is a charming, funny, and comforting read that succeeds as feel good escapism. Despite some narrative loose ends, it’s an enjoyable romance with a lot of heart. Perfect for readers looking for something light, sweet, and genuinely entertaining.

📖 ARC Book Review Title: Bad Boy Summer Author: Christina Pishiris Pub Date: 18 June 2026 If you’re looking for the ultimate summer escape, Bad Boy Summer absolutely delivers ☀️🔥 This was such a fun, addictive read—packed with sharp humour, sizzling chemistry, and just the right amount of emotional depth to keep you fully invested. From the very first chapter, I was pulled straight into Nella’s chaotic, relatable world… and honestly, I didn’t want to leave. Nella is brilliantly written—confident on the outside as a couples therapist, yet completely unraveling when it comes to her own love life. Watching her navigate heartbreak, family chaos, and that wedding setup felt real, messy, and incredibly engaging. And then there’s Mark… 👀 Brooding, complicated, and exactly the kind of “bad boy” you know you shouldn’t fall for—but absolutely will. The tension between them? Top tier. The banter, the sparks, the slow-burn build-up… it’s everything you want in an enemies-to-lovers romance. Set against vibrant Greek family dynamics and a sun-soaked wedding backdrop, this book balances laugh-out-loud moments with genuine emotional punches. It’s warm, escapist, and full of heart. ✨ Spice, tension, humour, and feels—all wrapped up in one irresistible summer read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 💫 Tropes & Vibes: Enemies-to-lovers • Forced proximity • Wedding chaos • Summer romance • Family drama
I’ve always wanted to take a trip to Cyprus, and after reading this book I’m even more desperate 🇨🇾
I knew this story would be a match for me when I read ”Emily Henry’s Happy Place meets My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, and I absolutely gelled with the author’s sense of humour from the very first sentence!
It was a super cute, easy read, but that doesn’t mean it avoided the harder, more emotional topics, they were just written in such a relatable way that it meant the reader could really empathise with the characters ❤️
Nella is a successful couples therapist, who suddenly discovers her boyfriend has cheated on her, and then to make matters worse, her sister announces she’s engaged and planning on getting married in 3 weeks!
Mark is the epitome of a bad boy… or he was when he and Nella were younger 👀 Now he’s a heart surgeon, and unfortunately also the best man - he and Nella have a tangled history that they need to work through to ensure this wedding doesn’t end up a complete disaster, but can they put their own feelings aside for the good of others?
I adored Nella’s chaotic, crazy family; idiosyncrasies and all, and I loved how we got to see so many interactions between them 🙌🏼
This was the perfect book to read during the current UK heatwave, I could almost imagine myself on a beach escaping reality within the pages 📖☀️
Tropes 📚 ✨ Enemies to Lovers ✨ Forced Proximity ✨ Maid of Honour x Best Man ✨ Family Chaos ✨ Spicy
Nella is a couple’s therapist. She’s on a high after just receiving her PHD and has a romantic getaway to Paris planned with her long term boyfriend and rumour has it he’s planning on proposing. That is until she gets home early from work and discovers her boyfriend is having an affair with the receptionist. I liked this story line, it just shows you that it doesn’t matter if you’re the world’s best couples therapist, at the end of the day you are only human and it can happen to anyone.
Reluctantly she has to move back in with her parents and I absolutely loved her family. They would drive me mad, especially her bratty sister Tig who is getting married in 3 weeks after a whirlwind romance. The family dynamic is brilliant though, I loved them.
Nella is thrust into the role of maid of honour opposite best man Mark, the bad boy of your dreams. They hate each other but are forced to spend time together for all of the wedding preparations and festivities. It’s a perfect enemies to lovers storyline, with sizzling chemistry, tension and spice.
I really enjoyed the writing style, it’s so easy to read and hilarious. Definitely my kind of humour. I absolutely flew through it. Perfect for your next summer romance read.
"If you're quite finished with your manly display" "Sweetheart, I kissed manly goodbye as soon as I put on these flip-flops."
Add this to your holiday reads pile. It is everything you want from a summer romance book.
Nella is a couple's therapist who finds out her boyfriend has cheated on her the same week as her sister gets engaged. She moves back in with her typically loud, loving and intrusive Greek parents to then quickly find out that in more good news the best man is the brooding and irritating big brother of the boy whose heart she broke.
As maid of honour, Nella is pushed into working with Mark when its the last thing either of them want to do. She's just got to make it to the wedding day.
This book is is full of banter, snappy remarks and heated moments. You will be rooting for Nella and Mark to just hurry up and get together! It is also hilarious. Describing Granny Maria as Switzerland with dentures to ensure divorced parents didn't cause a scene really got me giggling.
If you loved My Big Fat Greek Wedding, then this is absolutely your cup of tea. Plus it has British humour so it's a win win.
Thank you so much to HQ Stories and Christina Pishiris for providing me with an arc copy of this book. All opinions are my own.
Bad Boy Summer Genre: Romance Pages: 346 Rating: ☆☆☆☆
Nella is a therapist who specialises in couples therapy and when her relationship hits the rocks she’s left questioning her judgement. Mark is always chasing his next thrill and doesn’t have any plans on settling down, but old sparks relight. I quite enjoyed this read, i’ve never really been one to enjoy a cheating trope, however i enjoyed this more than i expected. I adored the chemistry and flirty banter between Nella and Mark and loved their family dynamic. I adored Zorbs his little personality was funny. I enjoyed how realistic this book were as it focused on situations that happens in real life and felt it were done well which probably plays a factor in how i enjoyed it as much as i did. The tension and slow burn with Nella and Mark delicious it had me reeling waiting for one of them to finally do something!! The heart doctor finally got her own heart doctor. Overall i enjoyed this read and it’s definitely a perfect summer read.
Tropes: ☼ Found family ☼ Enemies to lovers ☼ Slow burn ☼ Forced proximity
Thank-you so much to novel tours, HQ and Christina for sending me out this book for a participating in the book tour!🤍
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for sharing this ARC
Nella is in her 30s, just finished her PHD as a relationship therapist, and getting ready for a romantic gateaway in Paris with her boyfriend. Everything is as should be when, in the span of a weekend, her relationship is turned upside down, while finding out her sister is getting married instead - and the wedding is in 3 weeks! The upcoming wedding has her spend time with her ex-boyfriend’s brother, Max, who happens to be the best man. While Nella comes to term with the end of her relationship, Max’s closeness also brings back traumas of the past.
The story evolves between London and Cyprus. Nella’s family is all you’d expect to see in a close-knit Greek family. They’re nosey and can be “a lot”, while backing each other up each step of the way.
While the writing remains light hearted and fun, the story also touches on themes like cheating, loss of a loved one and anxiety, keeping the reader engaged throughout. Overall it’s a great beach/ garden read!
Bad Boy Summer was just SUCH a fun summer read. It did give me My Big Fat Greek Wedding meets Happy Place vibes, and I absolutely ate it up.
Nella's life completely unravels when she discovers her partner has been cheating on her, only to end up on holiday with Mark, the original bad boy from her childhood. The enemies-to-lovers tension is so good. Their history, constant bickering, and obvious chemistry had me completely invested from the start.
I really rooted for Nella. I loved that she's a couples therapist while her own life is falling apart. It adds a lot of self-doubt, but also some genuinely funny moments. Mark really grew on me too. He's intelligent, brooding, and underneath it all just a really lovely MMC.
The family absolutely stole the show though. They're loud, loving, meddling, and constantly in each other's business in the best possible way. I'd 100% go on holiday with them... mainly because it would be ridiculously entertaining.
Funny, romantic, a little bit spicy, and packed with brilliant banter, this was the perfect summer binge. I genuinely didn't want it to end.
As soon as I saw Christina Pishiris had a new book I immediately pre-ordered it as I loved her debut, Love Song for Sceptics. This book didn't disappoint.
I loved everything about Bad Boy Summer - the characters and their development, the pace and the dry, quippy banter reminiscent of Mhairi McFarlane and Lindsey Kelk. Nella is funny and reflective as she is forced to reconcile with her past after finding out her boyfriend is cheating. Her chemistry with Mark was hot and I laughed so many times at their quips. Theirs is a slow-burn romance, first forging a tentative friendship into something more as they work through their shared past. Mark was also divine, a man whose had to raise himself after living in a chaotic home, then losing his brother.
Supporting characters were also fantastic, especially Nella's brother Yan and their special bond. Even the more boisterous members of Nella's family were well-layered - far from the cardboard stereotypes that I tend to read. Nella's Greek Cypriot culture is woven in a way that made me a) want to travel to Greece and Cyprus and b) find galaktoboureko.
Thank you HQ , Christina Pishiris & NetGalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
( 4.5 ⭐️ )
Following characters Nella & Mark
This was a great read to get me into the summer mood. If you are a rom com fan this book will be perfect for you this summer.
Nella is a couples therapist. When she moves back home just as her sister is planning a wedding, she’s forced to work with Mark, the best man she can’t stand. But guess what ? he also happens to be her ex-boyfriend’s brother. When Nella and Mark meet again, you can feel the tension. you can feel it on every page they are together. the connection Nella and mark have is truly electric.
just everything about this book was perfection and everyone should have this on their tbr this summer.
Just as she’s about to go on a romantic Parisian break with her boyfriend, couple’s counsellor Nella discovers that he’s cheated on her.
Moving back in with her parents, Nella’s life goes from bad to worse when her younger sister announces that she is getting married in three weeks and that the best man is none other than Mark, brother of Nella’s first love who happens to hate her!
Having to team up to help ensure the big day goes off without a hitch, Mark and Nella are forced to confront their differences and manage their electric chemistry.
I went into this expecting a fun and easy summer read. It definitely delivers on the humour and there are a lot of laugh out loud moments. The Praxitelis family is loud and in your face and if you have been part of big family celebrations you will relate to the chaos. But beyond this there is a deeper look at family dynamics, and the book covers deeper issues such a DV, OCD and infidelity.
Mark and Nella’s sexual chemistry is sizzling but there is also a deeper emotional connection that I was pleasantly surprised with and is handled well.
My main bug bears was the casual misogyny that some of the characters displayed that seemed to go unchecked. I know that is sadly part of life as a woman, but it would have been nice to see a bit more pushback on some of the men’s (and women’s) attitudes.
There was also a lot of different characters with minor subplots that felt unnecessary and out of place (the situation with her best friend) or unresolved (what happened to Rich?)
Overall, a funny, easy, breezy summer read that packs more of an emotional punch than you would think.
What happens when a Heart Doctor rekindles with The Heart Doctor?
A whole lot of yearning, stolen glances and a hot tryst in a shed during an electrical storm.
Bad Boy Summer is the perfect summer read - and with the heatwave we’re having in the UK at the minute it’s meant to be!
Nella and Mark are childhood acquaintances - their families being close as all Greek families living in close proximity are but it’s the wedding of Nellas sister which brings secrets to life and buried feelings resurface.
I had an absolute blast reading this and I’m so thankful to Harper Collins for sending me a copy to read with Novel Tours. Happy reading and try not to book a holiday to Greece in search of your own Mark
one-line-synopsis | after walking in mid-exorcism, a receptionist joins her demon-hunting boss on a chaotic road trip through hell to rescue a missing coworker \\ now this is an outlandish romcom that i can get on board with! a train ride under the purple hell sky and bars that have both beer and blood on tap are just two of the fun and interesting elements of the hell that reed paints. i also really enjoyed the tension between the mcs and the twists that really made their relationship a will-they-won’t-they. it might be hard to do the setting justice but honestly a film based on this book would be incredible!
Bad Boy Summer had so many things I love with it been set at a family wedding, forced proximity and enemies to lovers. All these as well as a big Greek family ( my big fat Greek wedding is one of my old favourite films) so even before I read a page i was already hooked and it didn’t disappoint. Nella was a great FMC I just totally loved her from her sense of humour to just how she came across on the page. Along with Mark who’s the bad boy there dynamic together was just electric. I found this such a page turner and a quick read as I was so invested. This is a wonderful summer read to add to any summer reading list.
This was a good summer read, the premise sounded great, however something was missing for me.
The main characters were brilliant, the history and the setting all worked well. At times it felt like there was too much going on and a lot to follow, with the clinic, the patients, the family, extended family, friends and side characters.
Overall, I enjoyed the story, and I was pleased that Nella and Mark found their way to each other.
This book deals with some heavy topics but in a really digestible way. I love the siblings all together. Their dynamic was great. I especially loved Pen and would love more of her story in the future. Nella and Mark are both very similar as they take the weight of the world and the their pasts on their shoulders which causes friction between them but also binds them together! Look out for the bits where Mark winds Theo up, it is very amusing! Thank you NetGalley for this arc!
I loved this from the first page. It has a relatable, intelligent female lead, a compassionate and troubled male lead and a cast of family and friends who add authenticity, depth, humour and poignancy to this lovely story. The couple have a slow-burn, passionate relationship, mirrored by believable emotions you invest in. Immersive storytelling brings vivacity to the characters, events and places. It's the perfect escapist, feel-good read. I received a copy of this book from the publisher.
The Greek family chaos around Nella's sister's wedding is brilliant — warm and full of life! There are funny, witty moments throughout, especially with Nella being a relationship therapist who can't sort out her own love life. A fun pick for readers who love enemies-to-lovers with real history — Mark and Nella go all the way back to their teenage years, and that old tension against a busy wedding backdrop makes for a fun summer read!
Christina Pishiris’s Bad Boy Summer is a perfect summer read. The family dynamics are hilarious and the banter crackles with energy.
The Praxitelis family is loud unapologetic and unfiltered. If you have a large family you’ll relate to their chaotic celebrations. Aunties and uncles will quiz you about your love life and future plans. While the chaos is relatable the book delves deeper into family dynamics and the strength of their sibling bond.
Mark and Nella’s sizzling chemistry is undeniable, complemented by a profound emotional connection handled sensitively by the author.
Overall, it’s a fun and summery read with all the romance essentials: family dynamics, chemistry, loyalty and even tackling serious topics like domestic violence infidelity and abuse.
This book was the perfect summer read ✨ It's just the right mix of Greek rom-coms (My big fat greek wedding or My life in ruins) X summer read! It had me cackling, and almost tearing up. Also, who doesn't love a well done second chance romance? Kudos to the narrator for the excellent work and the brilliant accents.
Loved the family dynamics of the story and the rollercoaster ride between the two main characters.
The friend plot line was unnecessary. I understand having a non-family member point of view but her roommate storyline went nowhere when the title of the book was given in their conversation I expected more there and wanted more there.
