en revanche si vous souhaitez l'acheter pour l'objet livre : foncez, il est si beau,
je suis absolument fan des illustrations qui changent totalement de ce qu'on a pu voir dans ses précédents recueils, donc rien que pour ça, ça en vaut la peine,

vivement un prochain (vrai) recueil avec des nouveaux poèmes maintenant...

The cover, the art inside it and the poetry are wonderful.

And the poems were a bit spicier than i expected, but they were still beautiful.

This book is aesthetically very pleasing, beautiful artwork and colors, even stickers are included in the back. Really gorgeous. The poems however lacked depth and generally fell flat since some poems were one liners, that conveyed rarely anything unique or a new perspective. Most of the time it was just a single sentence on a two page spread.

This would be a great line in a romance novel, but as a poem it’s not working. That goes for quite a few of the poems. There were however some longer poems that I did enjoy and that were really good. I wish she would full poems more than those one liners, but the latter made her famous, so probably not.

This is the third collection I’ve read by Rupi Kaur, and I really enjoy her poetry for its simplicity, even though her style is quite different from traditional poetry. In this collection, she focuses not only on love, but also on self-love, which I particularly appreciated.

I think everyone can see a little bit of themselves in at least one of her poems. Despite the simplicity of her writing, she manages to convey a great deal of vulnerability, and that is something I truly appreciate about her work.

Rupi Kaur me osvojila još prije nego što sam otvorila prvu stranicu. Tematizira se ljubav u svim njezinim oblicima, većinom je to u partnerskome odnosu, ali i o učenju kako voljeti sebe. Osim toga, u svoje pjesme s lakoćom ubacuje tematiku fizičke bliskosti i seksualnosti. Sve su pjesme popraćene njezinim autorskim ilustracijama na koje smo već navikli, no ovoga su puta u boji pretpostavljam da je to zbog toga što, kako na početku kaže, sada kraj sebe ima njega uz kojega je procvjetala.

As this is a compilation of love poems from previous works by this author, I've read most of these poems before. I quite enjoy Kaur's writing for it's spareness and directness. Some readers are critical of her style, but I find that her words resonate with me, even comfort me at times. An easy, gentle read.

I usually love her poetry but this book was awful. Reminded me of the little lusty day-dreamy poems I wrote in the middle of the night as a teenager.

Though very aesthetically pleasing on the cover and inside with the illustrations throughout, I did not realise this was a collection of love poems across all previous works.

I was expecting new content, so having read the majority of Rupi Kaur's poetry books previously, a lot of this was repeated content for me. Granted the illustrations added something, as well as the stickers/craft section at the end. I also liked Rupi's words about the collection at the start. I actually thought some of her writing to the reader explaining the collection was more descriptive than certain poems included.
That's where I feel newer poems could have replaced some of those lacking poems and offered additional content alongside what existed and was repackaged.

Though I did not realise this is what I was getting in the store, whether that's a marketing problem, or my fault- I can hardly rate the book down for that. Yes it would have been nice to bulk up the collection and offer something fresh to readers with added new content, but it's good for new readers approaching Kaur's work for the first time, or loyal readers that want a special copy to keep or a collection with a cohesive theme they can come back to, rather than jumping around multiple themes in one poetry book.

Now looking at this as a special edition, or an add on poetry collection, I can appreciate the appeal of having all her love themed poems in one place, rather than routing through the multiple previous books to find the specific love poems.

Is this a collection worth keeping and returning to? Maybe, but I don't know if these love poems alone pack enough of a punch.

I should have realized that this was just a collection republishing previous works of Rupi Kaur, but despite being a bookseller, I cannot read. That is to say, it is not a new book. I got excited and bought it, and wow, what a cute pink cover! Also hey look, there are bonus stickers at the end. :) Two pages do not even have a poem at all, only a drawing.
