They both got the dream job. Now sparks are flying in all the wrong places.
Elle’s fairytale is simple. Dream job: check—courtesy of her new role planning guest experiences for OrbitAll, the world’s first space tourism company. Cottage by the sea: more like a furnished apartment in California’s Mojave Desert. The perfect man: does a neighbor who stomps around like he forgot about gravity count?
That neighbor? Chen. Astronaut and loud upstairs menace.
Chen came to OrbitAll to temporarily escape family obligations by joining an American space tourism company. Not to get distracted by the wild-haired woman downstairs who can’t stand him… and also can’t stop looking at him. He can’t resist her either—she’s sarcasm with a side of sunscreen and the human embodiment of freedom.
Their chemistry? Explosive. Their situation? Complicated. Because falling was never part of the launch plan—and the countdown’s already started.
Falling Like Stars is a steamy contemporary romance that takes place all over the globe and beyond, and guarantees a happily ever after.
Eve Kasey writes for a design firm by day and reads (and writes!) indie romance novels by night. Her contemporary romances balance swoon and steam while aiming to teach readers something new. She loves romance for the hope the genre conveys as well as the amplification of the simple truth that everyone everywhere deserves a happily ever after - however that looks to them. Eve lives in and loves the Pacific Northwest.
“You’ve had Earth in your viewfinder. What could be more beautiful than that?” He released the soft curl and leaned his mouth close to her ear. She shivered in the warm air. “You.”
Hands. Down. Falling like Stars is my favorite read of 2021 and it will be incredibly hard to beat. I don’t think a book has given me this many butterflies before. It was a freaking swarm of them flapping their beautiful wings with every word read. I found myself sighing every few pages. My breath was stolen from my lungs as my heart pounded furiously inside my chest. I forgot just how mesmerizing Eve Kasey writes. It’s almost lyrical. I found myself tearing up from the sheer beauty of her words. She makes you feel EVERYTHING. Slowly, almost painfully. But that slooooooow burn is so worth the wait. This is how romance should be written y’all!
“Elle, I promise I’m coming back to you.” She gripped his forearms with cold, trembling hands. “In one piece?” He smiled at the stunning woman in his arms. The woman he’d buried a fish for. The woman who loved everyone she met. The woman who teased him and treated him well at the same time. Chen hadn’t been whole since her wild hair and kind heart had walked into OrbitAll. “In one piece? No. Not anymore.”
Elle is one of my favorite heroines ever. A creative boss babe. A total freaking sexpot. Stubborn but wears her heart on her sleeve. Witty and compassionate. Absolutely beautiful in all the ways.
Chen is everything a book boyfriend should be. Just the right amount of cocky. A little obnoxious. Sinfully sexy. A bit troubled, hardheaded, but has the best heart. Swoony AF. He made me melt in every scene. I felt like Elle.
Everything about Chen made her ache. Made her wet. Made her happy. Made her whole.
THAT WAS ME! The entire book. I fell in lust and love right along with them. My heart ached. My soul set aflame. I wanted to scream at them. I wanted to hold them. I laughed, I cried, I got hella turned-on. I felt it all.
You brighten everything you touch, Elle. I want you to guide the rest of my life with that light.”
I mean, c’mon? Swoon. I need everyone and their mamas to read this book. Like right now. Do it. Five breathtaking stars. You will not regret this read.
Let me first warn you this is a slow burn 🔥... and I mean S-L-O-W! But it makes their coming together that much hotter! Eve does a wonderful job of balancing the the relationship building with the humor and banter between the two characters. I adored their banter and had a few LOL moments.
Elle is a woman with vision. She is wonderful at seeing and preparing for others, but has a slight blindness to her own needs. Or more aptly, places them aside because she is so giving. Chen knows what he wants and wants nothing more than to cannonball into the life he sees for himself. Unfortunately, family and cultural obligations hold him back.
The chemistry between these two is apparent from the moment they meet. The sweet banter, teasing and tender moments are.... aaaahhhhhh! Chen makes the perfect Book Boyfriend! An astronaut, HOT, dedicated, intelligent, sense of humor, caring... Yup...all those qualities!
Wow. This is my first book of Eve’s and it definitely won’t be my last. This story is gorgeous. The characters, the unique and fascinating setting of a space agency in the desert, the steam🔥 I loved learning more about Chinese culture through Chen’s character and rooting for Elle to get her fairytale. And I just adored Chen’s love for and dedication to his sister. Can’t wait for book two! 🥰
I love, love, loved this story. Elle and Chen were beautifully drawn and maddeningly stubborn. Their banter was everything, the tension building between them torturous. I’m not usually one for a slow burn, but with a payoff like this, it’s worth every second. Then once they fell, a different kind of tension settled in as it seemed doomed to end before it could even really start. But of course, it doesn’t, because Eve Kasey D E L I V E R S. And in a big way. I just adored everything about this book and I can’t wait to hold it in my hands so I can re-read it whenever I want! Such a good start to what promises to be an utterly amazing series.
Whenever I pick up an Eve Kasey book I know I’m in safe hands & this one was no different. A beautiful story that had me enraptured from the very first page. I am in love with Eve Kasey’s words & with Chen and Elle.
Chen made me laugh and also broke my heart. I loved reading about his culture & the whole space exploration. Such an amazing concept. Elle was a girl after my own heart. Selfless, caring, strong and supportive. Her love for Chen was magical. They were both magical.
Now, I can’t wait to dive into the rest of the books in this series. Tate & Rosie, I’m coming for you next!!
What a wonderful romance! This is the first book in the All In series and focuses on Chen and Elle. Their love story was absolutely top notch. There is plenty of steam between the two, but it’s done very tastefully. The space tourism storyline was also very original and interesting to me. I look forward to continuing this series with Tate and Rosie’s story. I received an arc from the author in exchange for my honest review.
Loved Elle and Chen. Their chemistry rocks! For two people to find what exactly they are looking for, and be such an incredible match is rare. I love the affection that he has for his sister, and the responsibility that he takes on makes me love him all the more. Also, can I have her job? It is awesome!
First of all, Elle's job is amazing, how did you come up with that? There are things in this world that I had no idea existed! If I ever could be as big of a jerk and ask for all of my furniture to be replaced before I got to my room on vacation. HA!
The feeling of anticipation of Elle and Chen meeting right from the beginning was driving me nuts...good stuff Eve...
Love Chen's teasing demeanor to Elle and I love how Elle just isn't having it. And loving that they live in the same apt complex, cant wait for those scenes...and hot they were, love their teasing games in and out of bed too!! Gawwwwwsh!!
But what a decision Chen has...he has a duty to his family but cannot see himself without Elle, when will he break it to her?!?
What a great twist and turn of their relationship, loving so much to let each other pursue their love and dreams.
What a great story line, the break up and time away from each other just made it that much more beautiful of a reuniting. They were meant to be from the beginning but life always has its peaks and valleys and surprises. Keep that pen to paper Eve, the worlds and relationships created are stunning.

Elle never thought anything would make her leave her island job until she gets the opportunity to be managing guest experiences for OrbitAll, the world’s first space vacation company. That’s where Elle meets Chen, a Chinese military pilot whose dream is to become a spacecraft pilot.
Chen is everything Elle isn’t and off the bat, they butt heads, but somewhere along the way they becomes colleagues & friends, which blossoms into something more romantic in nature.
But when Chen’s future in the US is jeopardized, they just might lose the truest love either of them have ever had.
Falling Like Stars by Eve Kasey is book 1 in the All In series. I really enjoyed this romance, especially all the details about OrbitAll and Chen’s background. I think Chen & Elle worked really well together and their differences complemented each other. I do wish it had been written in first person POV, but I still enjoyed my time reading it. Can’t wait to read the rest of the series! 4/5 stars.
Falling Like Stars by Eve Kasey is the first book in the All In Series. It is a steamy contemporary interracial romance which has no trigger warnings and a guaranteed happy ending. It is narrated from the dual POV of Elle and Chen who are starting their new jobs at OrbitAll.
The story is definitely a slow burn but after Elle and Chen meet I found that it was a lot more interesting. The chemistry between Elle and Chen was out of this world from the very beginning. The banter between the two of them was absolutely hilarious and really helped to liven up the story.
I liked learning more about Chinese culture especially in regards to family. I love how Chen is kind, funny, annoying in a good way and how he sees Elle as being freedom. Elle was sassy, caring and ambitious. I loved the idea of space tourism and I’d definitely signup for that adventure.
This was a great story filled with romance, dreams and new beginnings. I definitely can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
I recieved an advanced copy for free, and this is my honest opinion.
A sizzling and steamy slow burn. I adore Elle and Chen—their banter and that off the wall chemistry—a perfect blend of sassiness and sex appeal. Throw in an amazing cast of secondary characters and just the right amount of angst and you’ve got Falling Like Stars. Thank you, Eve, for writing a romance novel that is truly romantic.
"I received an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion" This book was for sure different for all the read I did out there. First of all, the plot, the main story about an space pilot, and a planner was refresh and original. Chen, this tall, hot chinese man, was very determined, and the love for Elle was real, and hot, and sexy and romantic. Tate...another character I'm looking forward to read in the second book of the series, was a very important part of the story too. Family is the key in this book, how we take care of the love ones, how important is to have the support system like I call mine, and how we never forget our roots. This is a romantic, hot , sexy story. Elle was a very fun woman, with her mind clear, with cero issues, honest and lovely. She was a very fierce friend, and daughter, an loyal to a fault. I truly recommended read this one.
When the heroine gets a job opportunity that will use her professional skills and be near her family, she jumps at the chance that was offered. At her new job, she meets the hero and there is instant chemistyr between them. Though the first meeting was a bit rocky, the two succumbs to the attraction. What will happen to the couple as outside factors, familial obligations, and more try to tear them apart?
The couple definitel makes the pages hot to the touch. The characters were defined so well, with particular favorites being the heroine's family and best friend, the hero's sister, and the small group that the series is focused on. The space tourism topic is intriguing and I look forward to learning more from the rest of the series. The book also shows how cultures are navigated in a daring relationship. I did find some small details not to my taste and would have loved more details provided in certain sections of the story, but they were not detrimental to my enjoyment of the book. Overall, this is a nice start to the series and I look forward to reading more Eve Kasey books.
Wow. What a read! The amount of love, time, research, and dedication in this book is evident on every single page. I loved learning about Chen and Chinese culture and of course food. He was an amazing, complex character and I enjoyed every part of his story. Elle - so independent, so accomplished, driven, and all around amazing. This book was beautifully written, and I cannot wait for the next book in this series.
I love the banter and flirting between the two MCs. Falling in love is never easy but both accept their attraction and dive right in. However, no love story is complete without its obstacles and I love that Chen and Elle were able to overcome them.
4.5 stars just because it took me a bit to get into the story, but once I did I really adored Chen and Elle! Their love story, their friendships and their families were all intriguing. I also enjoyed learning a bit about space travel and China!
I received an ARC from the author and can’t wait to continue reading the series!
I received this ARC by the author in exchange for an honest review.
If there’s something I’ve learned from romance novels is this: Where there’s love, there’s always a way.
This story checked all the boxes for me. It has the romance, the food, the laughs, the steam ─my goodness gracious, the steam of these two!─ but most importantly, the bravery and the determination to go after the life you really want for yourself.
Elle and Chen had so much chemistry from the very beginning, starting with the meet-cute and the hilarious banter they had going on. They had so much in common despite coming from opposite cultures and backgrounds. The relationship between them and the rest of the cast felt natural and I loved how all the characters from the series were introduced without taking the focus on the main characters (can’t wait to read next story).
I can’t say this enough: I love badass heroines, and Elle was the perfect mix of a wild, determined woman who goes after what she wants and a soft and welcoming heart. Chen was cocky, but I think it was all part of the act to get closer to Elle. I felt so warmed-hearted by Chen’s love for his family and the undying loyalty he had for them. The pressure of meeting their needs the way they wanted them to be met felt so real to me. It was inspiring to see him making decisions for himself without dishonoring his family, always respecting them and never implying they were a burden to him. I thought Elle’s respect and support for Chen’s decisions was admirable. She was so selfless and understanding, starting with the way she helped him through cultural shock (which is so crucial for an immigrant) and the love and acceptance she showed towards his family situation and all that involved being with him. I think that’s true love, when you accept the other person with all their needs and complications wanting only what's best for them, trusting that in the end, love will conquer it all!
This book goes to my shelves as an unforgettable love story!
My favorite contemporary romance of all time- ever!
Updated: There was just so much to love in Falling Like Stars. This review will probably be just me gushing and fangirling like crazy.
I loved Chen- so much! He is smart, capable, well-traveled, caring, considerate, passionate and hot! He is the perfect man. If I have to move to the desert to find a man like this, sign me up!
I loved Elle. She was creative, and a hard worker, and also very capable. She knows what she wants and isn't afraid to go after it. I admired that about her. Not letting social norms (the patriarchy) stand in her way. Plus, you have to love a heroine who loves tacos as much as Elle does!
Together, their banter was *chefs kiss* pure gold! "Chen is the worst," except not really ever.
The job- could Eve Kasey come up with a better company/job/meet cute than OrbitAll...? I don't think so.
The best part of the entire book (for me) was the constant reference to the stars, flying, falling, gravity. It was weaved in so seamlessly and showed that Chen really did love what he does, and that he got those same starry-eyed love feelings with Elle.
My grandpa was a pilot, my first plane ride was in his plane with him. I have always always always wanted to see a hero that "got it," the way Chen does. It's not a "flyboy" stereotype. There is no better feeling than flying and Kasey truly captured the passion for flight like I've never read in another romance before.
I cannot wait to read the next in the series, and know that this will be one I revisit over and over.
First: I will update this later because I can’t stop squealing about how much I loved this! It is officially my favorite contemporary romance of all time!
"Awww" this is the only word I said as the book ended along with a satisfied sigh.
This story is beautiful, smooth, romantic, passionate and fun. This is the romcom you need which has a unique profession, silly banter, a smooth romance and a logically acceptable problem. Also, if you love cliches, then this is has some.♡♡
We read a lot about tradition here and the pressure of being a good and ideal son for the family.
The romance is a slow burn for sure and it's absolutely worth it because these two together are hella fire. Chen was an absolute perfect man, he's there to irritate, but he's there to help and it also helps that he's smart enough to bring food when trying to solve an issue.
While the romantic aspect is spot on, the author has also told us about the business aspect. @EveKasey has thoroughly researched about the terms and has not chosen an astronaut as a profession only because it sounds cool.
The turning point is a genuine problem and not a misunderstanding between the lovers. I like how the story revolves around Elle and Chen but not necessarily uses them for everything.
Chen loves space and freedom. His family being a little tight restricts him from living "the" life. With a job opportunity in the States, he happily moves towards his happiness. Elle is the soft but confident and determined one. You can read her by her expressions and love her humbleness, sarcastic thoughts and drive. The cocky upstairs neighbour is always able to irritate and annoy her in the sweetest ways; the way when you're not actually angry but you want to be.
Loved it, enjoyed it and am happy to read this!♡
•••••••••••••••••••••••• I've recieved an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Falling Like Stars was a such a beautiful love story. The perfect example of how two people who might not normally work, can work pretty perfectly together.
I loved Elle right away. She was ambitious and smart. She didn't shy away from the thought of falling in love. She had all of these dreams for herself and she worked really hard to make them happen.
Chen was the opposite of Elle. While he was ambitious and hardworking, he didn't take things too seriously. He infuriated Elle, but also intrigued her. He was dead set on making sure his family was taken care of, and he thought that he was the only one that was capable of doing that. He sacrificed so much for them.
The slow burn of the story was frustrating. Sometimes you just wanted the two of them to get their crap together and give in already. I appreciated that Eve made us wait, though. Because when they finally gave in, their chemistry was off the charts.
I cried towards the end, because it felt like nothing was going to work out how it should. I felt the pain that the two of them were going through, trying to decide if dreams can change and what to do if you find yourself in a situation that seems impossible.
I can't wait to read the other books in the series, because I loved all the other characters in the story. It will be interesting to see where they go from here.
Extremely Well-Done Interracial Romance with A Cocky Hero and A Strong Heroine
I loved this book so much! A well-deserved five stars. Elle and Chen are so cute together, and their clever banter was incredibly well-done and fun.
Elle is a strong, smart, insightful lead with drive, ambition, and amazing ideas, but she’s not afraid to lean into her emotional side, which I found refreshing. I loved that Chen could read her like a book from the beginning.
And Chen — oh, Chen. His cockiness was actually adorable (it’s not usually my thing), because you could tell he could *mostly* back it up, but you also knew it was just another way to get under Elle’s skin. He just couldn’t stop himself from pushing her buttons.
Their chemistry was undeniable, even to the two of them, and I loved that they fell in love hard. But every great story has obstacles, and this couple…let’s just say they have entire continents’ worth of issues to overcome.
Even though Chen seems to be determined to irritate Elle to no end, I loved that he was still kind, considerate, and helpful to the point of being romantic. I mean, her fish?!? Everyone needs a Chen to fall in love with.
This couple is FIRE, the steamy scenes are so sexy, and their story goes from heartbreaking to incredible and back again. Trust me — you need to read this book. Such a strong start to this highly anticipated series!

What starts off as a story of two strangers coming together from different ends of the earth quickly morphs into a fast-paced love story against a starry backdrop.
Elle, an experience designer, gets recruited to work for a new, multi-billion dollar company, whose ambitions are to take regular, ordinary people to space. This is where she meets Chen, the confident, cocky, family-loving astronaut who will embark on this ever so ambitious journey.
Starting as rivals, they push each other’s buttons until the tension is so tight, it snaps, breaking into a cosmic attraction that takes them both by storm. The whirlwind is quick and fast, and rapidly shifts into unknown terrain, leaving the pair at a crossroad they didn’t expect to arrive at so soon.
I’m not one for reading in the 3rd person (that’s just who I am) but I quickly sank into the effortless rhythmic connection between Elle and Chen. Their mutual attraction for each other grew quickly, keeping with the uptempo storyline. I loved how this story emphasized how when it comes to love, sometimes you need to throw caution to the wind. Sure, sometimes love is on a timer, but that doesn’t mean you need to wait it out.
If you’re in the market for a fast, insta-love type story, then this will be right up your alley! Chen and Elle’s story was a delight to read, and I’m looking forward to what the author releases next.
Easy to fall in love with starlight in the desert.” - Chen
✨Chen, Elle and all the stars under the desert sky. ✨ How quick it was, how right it felt, how easy it was being with the one person you shouldn't have. My heart still aches for Chen, his duty to his family and Elle and her fairytale dreams.
Everything about this book was utterly beautiful. Eve Kasey’s magic with words is breathtaking. Like, I am in awe of this woman and am still trying to get a grip of myself and this beautiful story.
It was so much more than I expected! It was everything! The banter, the tension, the slow mother-effing burn. It burned so good! I just loved their love so damn much it hurts. My heart and cheeks from smiling so much, hurt from the HEA that everyone got in the end. Ugh! I LITERALLY DIDN’T WANT IT TO END! Luckily, I don’t have to stop with three other books in this series!!!! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
Falling Like Stars is a wonderful start to a new series. Elle is an expert in the hospitality industry while Chen is an expert in aviation. They each get recruited to join and help establish OrbitAll, a fledgling aerospace company. As soon as they meet sparks fly and they get sucked into each other's orbit faster than you can disappear in a black hole. While their physical attraction to one another is immediate, I would say that this is a slow burn romance. I really liked how the two different cultures are represented here. It isn't often that you see a Chinese MC and I found that refreshing. Elle and Chen may come from different worlds, but they were made for each other!
I look forward to the other books in the series and the couples that are featured in them.
When I was little, the first thing I remember wanting to be was an astronaut. I had big dreams, and to this day I am still fascinated by space. That being said, I have never read a fiction book about astronauts, let alone a romance. I liked it so much! You can tell that Eve, the author, put so much research into the plot and her writing. I love how diverse the cast was, how relatable each character was, and ultimately, how main characters Elle and Chen found love in each other. Highly recommend, and can’t wait to read the next book in this series!
Y'all, I am not okay. This book may be the steamiest yet sweetest book I've ever read.
I first thought I was like okay a story about astronauts and space is going to be super cheesy. But it really wasn't and I think it's because we are super close to people being able to go to space for fun. And this book is that. They are going to the moment but building a company that will do commercial flights to space.
And Chen and Elle were both super likeable characters! Actually, everyone was. There wasn't any petty vengeful characters and I loved that. But the playful banter between Elle and Chen was the best!
The love scenes were on fire! I think I'm still blushing.
Basically, this is an amazing romance novel and you should read it! It's on Kindle Unlimited or $2.99 for a digital copy. And I promise it will be the best $2.99 you have ever spent.
This book is pure magic! Elle and Chen were both recruited to work at OrbitAll, the first space tourism company. Elle is the Director of Experiences and Chen is the Lead Test Pilot.
Both characters have a confidence that comes with the level of their experience which was refreshing to read. Their meet-cute provided us with a hint of enemies-to-lovers vibe which turned into flirtatious banter and then incredible steam.
This is a SLOW burn but I did not mind one single bit. The development of their relationship needed every moment.
I loved some much about this book! The aspirational setting of unique experiences and space travel. The characters' deep connection to their families. Elle’s passion for tacos and Chen’s passion for dumplings. Kasey’s enchanting descriptions and eloquent dialogue.
Falling Like Stars is book 1 in the All In Series and I need book two NOW!
Thank you to the author for providing a copy in exchange for an honest review.
I looooooved this so bad!!!! This story was so lovely, I'm in love with it and this series, I cannot wait to read the rest. Ellie & Chen were goals and I loved the tension building between them, they were so funny and their characters so well written. The ending was great as well, I loved that they both followed their dreams and put each other first. Just read it people!
I could not get enough of Ellie and Chen. The story was the right balance of steamy to be completely addictive. I did think that the first pages were a bit overwritten, but this feeling dissipated quickly. In hindsight I think it led to my connection with the story and characters. So readers, stick with it. Eve Kasey does not disappoint. And run, do not walk, to download/order the two forthcoming volumes of this series!
This book was really sweet! It made me tear up a few times because I felt for the characters. The idea of space travel was a unique backdrop for a lovely love story.
