Fighting Gravity

Rate this book
One ambitious architect. One handsome billionaire. Zero chance of staying professional.

What do you do when your life implodes, courtesy of a jerk named Chad? If you’re Rosie, you change your number, launch your own architecture firm, and don’t even trust the ground you walk on.

Until she meets Tate, her new client. Billionaire, dreamer, and way too genuine for Rosie’s peace of mind.

Tate took over OrbitAll because he believes in its mission, but after years of being in the red, his family is demanding proof that it can get off the ground. He’s devoted solely to its success—until Rosie walks in. She’s supposed to design his new hotel, and he’s supposed to be prepping a launch, not planning epic dates around the country.

She’s guarding her heart. He’s protecting his legacy. But somewhere between blueprints and banter, they might just find the foundation for something real.

Fighting Gravity is a steamy contemporary romance with a guaranteed happily ever after.

Loved the book and the characters. I didn't read the first book in the series, and can attest that you can read this as a stand-alone.

I could relate to Rosie and loved the fact that Tate wasn't the overpowering prince in shining armor. He was secure enough to allow Rosie to develop on her own!

It was an easy escapism for me, and kept my attention until the very end! Definitely will be reading more by this author!

I received a copy of this amazing book to review and all thoughts are my own.

So, I started reading this series out of order, but it 100% doesn’t matter which I love! Reading the second book only made me want to go read the first one and the next one.

Rosie and Tate’s story is all about trust, and what it really means to not only earn it, but to give it. I also REALLY liked the B story between Rosie and her sister Violet that I won’t spoil here. They have a conversation that’s just...AMAZING. I’ll leave it at that.

Adding Tate to my list of perfect book boyfriends because he is seriously perfect in every way. This was my intro to Eve Kasey’s writing and now I can’t wait to read every single thing she publishes. Her prose is beautiful and engaging and she’s absolutely just become an auto-buy author for me!

Rosie Rosie Rosie - the sweetest woman alive, who struggles to believe her worth. Even though she owns her own business, and is a flippin boss lady. So many times I wanted to reach through the pages and give the poor woman a hug.

Tate - the sweetest billionaire I’ve ever read, heard of, or could imagine. Did I mention he’s also a dreamboat in the looks department? I loved the way he was patient yet persistent. He knew she was the one and listened to her wants and needs.

Yet again, this book was beautifully written, and I could tell the amount of time and research that went into writing it. It’s written almost in tandem with the first book, which made it really interesting.

Two more loveable characters, a fantastic book, and I cannot WAIT to read about Vikram in book three!

I received this ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Eve was able to move every single emotion in my heart since the first book on this series. The expectation about Rosie and Tate’s story was definitely worth the wait. It’s books like this that remind me why I love Romance Literature so much!
I need to start by saying this is one of the sexiest, most intriguing and anticipation builder meet-cute I’ve ever read. The all-consuming chemistry between Tate and Rosie was absolute FIRE since the second they laid eyes on each other and... It didn’t. Cool. Down.

Ever.

I had to read it several times because I couldn't get enough of it!
I loved Rosie. A passionate, wounded but resilient woman who says yes to healing and always chooses herself first. She knew she had to love herself and build trust with herself before anyone else! The fact that she prioritized her mental health and work through her issues instead of ignoring them, proves how strong she really was and how much she deserved the happy ending she got. Her doubts and hesitations were completely understandable and I loved how she left a little door open for Tate to prove her wrong. It takes a great effort to do something like that when trust has been broken.

Tate! The lonely billionaire who had everything money could buy, except for love and true friendship. We meet him as the “perfect boss” in Falling Like Stars, a guy who was always trying to make sure everyone in the team was happy and got what they needed to make their experiences unforgettable, even if they were just his employees. I love how he got to discover that OrbitAll was the sanctuary he didn’t know he was building, where he wanted to feel at home and build the family he didn’t have. He just wanted everyone together and make every relationship meaningful. Now that I know this, the friendship between the rest of the cast takes my love for the characters in the series to another level, it definitely feels like a family forming in this gang!

I loved how everything happens simultaneously with the previous book, there were a lot of “Aha!” moments that answered the questions that popped up while reading about Elle and Chen.

The entire book revolves around trust and how important it is in a relationship. For that reason, I loved how Tate and Rosie started with complete honesty with each other. No lies, no secrets and nothing to hide. The moment Tate knew he wanted her he spends every page trying to prove he was worthy of her trust ─talk about grand gestures!─ It was heartbreaking to see a guy who had all the money in the world thinking he was never going to have Rosie love him as much as he did (and oh my goodness! That man was head over heels!). I enjoyed the flirty dialogue and banter, it was obvious since their first interaction they didn’t only want to have a good time but also to get to know each other in a deeper level, that made their love feel genuine and true throughout the pages.
They both found purpose in what the hard work they did and had the happy ending they both deserved.

Believe me when I say this series keeps getting better and better. I love how all the characters share their love for space and stars in different ways and the entire experience at OrbitAll has different meaning to each of them.

Rosie is an architect who is trying to work through her trust issues after her ex-boyfriend and her sister deeply betray her. Tate is a French billionaire at the helm of a commercial space flight company who hires Rosie's firm. It's love at first sight for Tate, but even though she feels a connection Rosie takes some warming up. Tate works hard to prove his trustworthiness and win Rosie's affections in this sweet story about trusting your heart.

This was my first book by Eve Kasey, but won't be my last. This is the second book in the series and it works just fine as a standalone but I definitely plan to read the others in the series. I wanted a little more back story for both Tate and Rosie to understand more about what was driving them, but there's definitely enough that they didn't fall flat at all.

Thanks to the author for the early copy in exchange for an honest review! Fighting Gravity releases on January 24. The first in the series, Falling Like Stars, is available now on Kindle Unlimited!

I have to say that I was so happy to see a character who put herself first when she knew she needed to, even if it meant waiting for love. When the relationship is right, it will be there when you are ready, and Rosie proved that. I loved Tate, and swooned over the work that he put in to help Rosie know that she could trust him. Such a great build on the first book, and I can't wait to read the next one!

3.75/5 stars!

When the hero and the heroine first met, there was an instant connection between them. However, the heroine has trust issues due to her last. But the hero patiently pursues her. As misunderstandings, life, and the last becomes obstacles in their relationship, how will the couple get their happily-ever-after?

This is the second book in this Eve Kasey series and focused on the romance between a gentleman hero and a broken heroine. I liked the characters and the issues the couple went through individually and together. However I wasn't enamored of one aspect that made me not like a character as much as I wanted to, even as that character is a fave type of mine. I also enjoyed the growth of a character that was only given a glimpse in the previous book of the series. Overall this is a nice addition to the series and I look forward to reading more Eve Kasey books in the future.

**Thanks to the author for providing the review copy.**

This novel is about a business savvy man, Tate, who started up a company (OrbitAll) with the purpose of sending regular citizens on a luxury trip to outer space. Elle works for Tate and talked him into hiring her BFF, Rosie, as the lead architect for the project.
One thing I’ll praise this author for is that she didn’t make Tate a cocky, barrel-over-you business guy. Though he comes from a strong background and clearly knows his way around being CFO, he’s sweet and gentle. [There was one scene in the novel I didn’t care for, but I won’t put those specifics here as I think it was just a personal trigger for me]. Tate and Rosie immediately fall for one another for Rosie is scared to trust herself in judging a man’s character.
This was a super sweet read and perfect for fans of insta-love. May every man be steadfast in his love like Tate!

If the billionaires sending rockets to space in real life were like Tate and not huge douchebags with too much money I would actually cheer them on, LOL! What a cinnamon roll! :)))))) I loved this story between Rosie and Tate, it was so sweet and full of heart! I adored Rosie. She was smart and tough and wasn't easily won. What a ride!

I'm impressed with how Kasey has managed to tell these stories all centered around the same events in the creation of this space tourism company, and yet keep it fresh with every installment. Bravo!

Okay, so Tate and Rosie are AMAZING. If you couldn’t tell by that statement, I absolutely LOVED this book.

Rosie is a fierce heroine, an architect that has been burned by a relationship in the past so she’s slow to hand out trust. Enter Tate, the billionaire with a heart of gold and the most trustworthy guy there is. But despite that, Rosie still struggles to believe him when he says he’s there for her.

I LOVE the insta-love here. It’s super believable, which isn’t easy to pull off. And Tate…excuse me, had to wipe the drool off my chin. DREAMY.

And can I also say STEAMY?? These two are FIRE.

Through everything this couple encounters and despite the many forces keeping them apart, their struggle to find their way back to each other is just so heartwarming and sweet. And let’s just all get us a Tate, okay?

Eve Kasey nails it yet again with this one. The book boyfriend is perfect, the sexy scenes are swoon-worthy, and the emotional journey both of these characters make is as realistic and sweet as it is heartbreaking and intense. HIGHLY recommend this book — it’s my favorite of the series! Because Tate. (Did I already mention that?? Sorry, not sorry.)

Go read it now! It’s worth way more than five stars.

✨Fighting Gravity ✨

A shining five stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 from me!!

☄A lifetime of emotions had been crowded into just a few days. The stars helped. They always did. Nothing lasted forever. Not this grief. Not this shame. Not life. Not love. The thought should have dragged him down deeper, but knowing every emotion was finite actually relieved some of the pain☄

Okay this book blew my mind, I loved it so damn much! I was giggling, tearing up, sniffling and crying, swooning and mooning and finally I was overjoyed to have the privilege to read this book.

This story was intriguing at best the concept and title gave me the ahhhh so that's what it means effects all over and I couldn't get out of the book hangover😵 this was such a beautiful romance and I was excited to read it because I first fell in love with the cover and then the emotions the book brought out of me is just pure unadulterated joy 💙

Ⓡⓔⓥⓘⓔⓦ:

Tate the space billionaire has been taught that love and legacy don't work well with each other and he's been content to believe his mother's words all these years but when a stunning red head walks in with a guileless smile he quickly falls for her but not everyone has a happy ending when they try to fuse legacy and love do they? Mother knows best right?! Or does she really?!

Rosie has been in love with stars and anything and everything about space and when she's offered to be an architect for OrbitAll she's beyond happy and accepts it on behalf of Abode. When she meets Tate she's having reactions that she's never felt before but she doesn't trust her emotions or judgement about men anymore not after what happened two years ago but he seems like a perfect man but her own insecure heart wouldn't let her trust her choices!

A heart wrenching novel that absolutely made me laugh and cry and I'd recommend it to anyone who loves contemporary romance 💙

Rosie and Tate deserve to fly! We get small glimpses of their romance in Falling Like Stars. Getting to read their full story in Fighting Gravity is wonderful. Their story is full of angst and tension as each character navigates their desire alongside past hurts. While they have an instant attraction their story isn't insta-love. They have real issues and real struggles. Their turmoil was worth it though and they got the HEA they deserve!

‘Leave no kind word unsaid.’

I love this sentiment. The fact that Rosie had to learn to trust & then love, after someone did something so awful, was beautifully portrayed in this story of love winning over everything. And Tate was EVERYTHING! I loved him. The perfect gentleman who made my heart burst for him.

Rosie’s story of healing was heartbreaking, touching & so very real. I felt so much for her.
I could not read fast enough to get to their happy ever after. I loved this story.

Now, I’m onto Quinn and Vadim. Holy hotness!

I was immediately pulled into Rosie and Tate's story. Rosie is a very relatable character. In her personal life she just came out of a horrible relationship of betrayal. Leaving her feeling vulnerable with trust issues. In her professional life she is boss lady owning her own business. When she meets Tate a sweet and down to earth billionaire, things start to change. The pull between them is very strong. However, Rosie resists. Tate is patient and keeps the friction of their attraction just enough not to spook her.
One of my favorite sentences is in Chapter 4 last line-(This is what the rest of my life looks like.) SWOON!
Author Eve Kasey wrote a book with relatable emotions and a couple you could not help root for. This is a series but you can read it as a standalone.

Book release date: January 24th
I recommend getting this book.

I absolutely adored Fighting Gravity! Tate's passion and Rosie's sweetness complimented each other perfectly, and I was drawn so far into their story I didn't want to leave. Their chemistry was real, so heartfelt, and their entire book was peppered with those deliciously breathless moments that had me rooting for their happily ever after.

Five swoony stars and highly recommended!!

This is Book 2 in the All In series, but can definetely be read as a stand alone.

This story follows Rosie - a sweet lovable architect who has been hurt and has trust issues and Tate - the hot billionaire with a space travel company. It is a hot, steamy read that you will not want to put down. I loved the immediate connection I felt with the characters and the quick pace of the story.

And it has everything - it had me swooning, sweating, falling in love and laughing out loud. And great substories - therapy, Rosie's relationship with sister, space travel and another love story or two... This was a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for me and I will definetely be checking out the other books in this series

I thought Falling Like Stars was great, but dang, somehow this one was even better. I absolutely loved reading Tate and Rosie's story. After having read all of the turmoil throughout the course of the book, I was very glad that they got the ending that was right for them. :) Now that I've finished the first two books, I'm super excited to finish the series when Frequency of Attraction releases!!

Omg!!!!

It’s official I’m loving this series. After Elle and Chen I had to know about Rosie and Tate.

I love a romance with you on the edge of your seat. Rosie with her fears, insecurities and uncertainties with Tate who was confident, hopeful and patient.

I love a character that’s willing to wait because they know what they are risking. Tate knew from the beginning that Rosie was the cure from the family curse of ‘Legacy over Love’.

If you love, love, y’all love this beautifully told love story.

Who wouldn't want a man like Tate fighting for you every step of the way? Rosie is healing. Tate is confident to a fault. And what happens when these two mix is such a sweet love story. While I read the first book (Falling Like Stars), this can also be read as a stand alone. This book ran parallel to the events in Book 1, but you get a different perspective re-living it through Rosie and Tate's story.

Tate is my new BBF

Trust once broken can be so hard to achieve again, especially when it comes to trusting your own judgment. One of my favorite things about romance novels is the character growth that allows someone to let themselves love someone else the way they should love and be loved the way they should be loved. Fighting Gravity is exemplary in doing this. Plus it’s hot AF. Tate may very well be my new Book Boyfriend. His kindness, his care, and his swagger hooked me. Rosie grows through out the novel, just like her namesake into a person who figures out her own way to trust again. There were surprises in this book that made it utterly unique—hello amazing grand gesture—and a love story that kept me reading.

I have an ARC. I've read this twice now. My initial thoughts: hot, out-of-this-world, and full of beauty. The world-building, descriptions, and characters are fantastic! I saw the story play out in my mind. These characters, and the ones they interact with outside of the relationship, are well-rounded. They are flawed. One leans into their biggest "flaw" while the other recognizes theirs but struggles. If Rosie didn't want Tate, I'd have gladly rolled right in. I highly recommend this book!

4 gravity stars! A heart-pounding love story that reminds readers why they love romance genre.

When your read a book from a new author (to you), it’s like going on an adventure that could be wonderful experience or a tough one. Luckily for me, it has been a wonderful experience each time I read a new author and I hope it doesn’t end. Fighting Gravity by Eve Kasey is a beautiful broken book of soul mates. A riveting romance that will pull the right strings of the readers’ hearts. The first chapters were quite slow but as the story carries on I felt all the passion and promise of a mind-blowing romance.

Eve Kasey has crafted a true and real romance where the heroine and hero aren’t the typical characters. Rosie and Tate are complex and unique. I could relate to both of them. I loved how Tate didn’t overpower Rosie and did allow her to develop in her own way even knowing that she could take away their happy ending because of her trust issues. Their story is based on trust but not only into give it but to earn it too. Broken sees broken, and Rosie and Tate are two kindred spirits with beautiful hearts who are perfect together.

Rosie’s issues made my heart ache because I know what betrayal from your loved ones feel. It hurts so much. The scars left heal slowly but they do heal with time and love. Not only does she have trouble trusting others, she also struggles to believe her worth. Her ex-boyfriend and sister did a BIG number on her. Despite all her issues, she is the boss lady. Rosie owns her own architect firm and she is flipping amazing! Thanks to her best friend Elle, who we met in Falling Like Stars, she will meet the man who can help her heal.

Insert here a sexy French billionaire. Tate, oh ladies, where to start. He is the perfect gentleman and that French accent of his does not hurt. He was very patient and supportive yet persistent. His only goal was making OrbitAll, his space company, a success until he met Rosie. She literally put his world upside down. He knew, she was the one and listened to her needs. From the beginning they were FIRE, the all-consuming chemistry between them couldn’t be denied. The lust, passion and burning feelings floating around them like the stars in the universe. Love and Trust being their gravity to keep then on the ground of a blooming romance.

Fighting Gravity is TRULY EXTRAORDINARY. Unequivocally beautiful. Unforgettable. My first introduction to Eve Kasey’s writing and believe me it won’t be the last time. I must confess that I read this book first and I can attest that it can be read as a stand-alone, however I’m planning on reading the first and the following books in the All In series!

Title: Fighting Gravity
Author: Eve Kasey
Hero/Heroine: Tate and Rosie
Trope: Workplace Romance

THE GOOD 😁

All. Of. It. You know how I said that I binged Falling Like Stars the same way I binge carbs before my period? Well this book was the equivalent of me spooning Nutella straight from the jar on the first day of my period (don’t judge me, I’m not the only one that’s done that surely?)
Tate and Rosie, the beautifully flawed couple at the centre of this book, find themselves in a situation neither of them are sure how to navigate. With Tate’s unyielding family and their ‘legacy over love’ mantra, and Rosie’s deep seated trust issues after been betrayed by an old colleague/lover and her sister (not in the way you think before your mind wanders there), these two wonderful characters were a constant work in progress.
The one thing that stood out for me with this book was the instant connection that formed between the two characters. Tate made no apologies for how quick he fell for Rosie, and he was so determined to make her happy. With Rosie, she knew what she was feeling for Tate, but due to past circumstances, she found that she couldn’t trust herself or her judgement. The constant struggle on whether she should follow her head or her heart was heartbreaking, but at the same time I loved witnessing her grow as a character and come to terms with what happened in her past. And now Sunday can’t come quick enough, ya girl here desperately needs to read Vadim’s story cos, woah momma, that dude sounds like a tall , tatted drink of water.

THE BAD 🙁

The fact that Tate isn’t real.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: A gorgeously heartwarming story about two characters learning to trust their heart over their head
STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥🔥
STAR RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The All In Series is the first series that I have read by Eve Kasey and I have to say I am completely hooked by her books. She is able to create some an immersive world that I hated to leave it when I finished this series. I honestly wish that there were more books in this series because I hate that I have had to leave behind OrbitAll and these characters.
Fighting Gravity is book two in the All In Series and it follows Rosie and Tate. If you read book one of this series, Falling Like Stars, you see the start of Rosie and Tate's relationship from Elle (Rosie's BFF) and Chen (a test pilot for OrbitAll) perspective and you start to fall in love with them as a couple, but when you read their story from start to finish you love them all the more for it.
Rosie and Tate meet when Tate hires her as the architect to build a hotel for the people paying OrbitAll to take them to space. As soon as Tate sees Rosie she's all he sees and he doesn't want anyone else to be in his life, in his future but her. Rosie feels the same pull that Tate does but she's scared because the last time she trusted a man he screwed her over to get a promotion that they were both in the running for. As they start to get closer Tate does what he thinks is a sweet gesture but all Rosie sees is him hiding things from her, so she puts the breaks on everything. Rosie does this because she's scared of getting too close to him and having it blow up in his face. Can Tate prove to Rosie he won't hurt her? Can Rosie move on from her past?

Rosie is damaged to the point where she believes she will never trust again. Tate was led to believe from a young age that it’s “legacy over love,” i.e. that the family’s vast business empire would be his life; that there would be no room for love. But when Rosie shows up to win a contract to build a hotel for Tate’s space tourism company, their instant connection throws everything they think they believe into question. If only it were as simple as setting aside deeply ingrained ideas.

I loved how sure Tate was from the moment they met. And I deeply felt for how unsure Rosie was, even though she knew what was happening between them was special, even though Tate is special. And by special, I’ll use his own words (censored) to demonstrate: “I’m a really nice guy and you are a f^@&ing goddess, but I’ll still bend you over this desk and f^@& you hard if that’s what you want.” I mean, damn. What woman wouldn’t want that?

But that’s the tricky thing about scars; they don’t heal overnight. Which is why I loved that Rosie didn’t magically get over her issues when the hot billionaire showed up. The emotions and struggles they both go through are so realistically done and so gut-wrenching, in the best way possible. And even though it’s romance, so you kinda know how it’s going to end, Rosie and Tate’s journey is beautiful and messy and sexy and absolute must-read perfection. I love, love, love this series and you will too.

“Loving someone meant placing your glass heart in their clumsy hands and asking them not to drop it.”

Last month, I fell utterly in love with Eve Kasey’s All In Series when I read book one, Falling Like Stars. After reading book two, Fighting Gravity, I can now say that I’m even more in love with the OrbitAll crew! While these books can be read as standalones, I totally recommend reading both! The characters’ stories all overlap to an extent and you get a deeper appreciation for the characters by reading both.

Fighting Gravity is a love at first sight / insta-love romance with a badass architect heroine and a smoking beta billionaire hero. A steamy read full of hope, love and healing, Fighting Gravity is the best kind of romance comfort read.

What I Loved:
✨How inevitable Tate and Rosie felt as a couple. I have never met a more aptly named book because Fighting Gravity, captures the pair’s shared magnetism perfectly.

✨The great subplots - From fractured sibling relationships, to cold distant parents, drama abounds in the best possible way.

✨The swoon worthy dates - I don’t want to spoil anything, but get yourself a partner who can plan dates like Tate. 😍

✨The characters - I adored both leads so much! Eve has a wonderful way of creating characters who stick with you long after you’ve read the book’s final page.

Mini Rant: I just want to take a moment to acknowledge that Eve seriously knows how to write dreamy men! I adored Chen from book one, but Eve really outdid herself with Tate - steadfast, sweet and patient, on top of being fine as hell?! He was the beta billionaire I never knew I needed! 😍

In short, I loved this book and would recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance! Don’t miss out on this truly stellar love story!

Would give this 3.5⭐

This is Rosie and Tate's story. We've met them in the previous book, but this is where they finally come together.

While I definitely enjoyed reading, the storyline is pretty basic and I feel @EveKasey can do and has done better (Book 1: Falling Like Stars).

Rosie is an architect for OrbitOn who's owner is Tate. The story develops on the basis on instant attraction and love at first sight (maybe). Even with the insane amount of eye contact, Rosie is still unsure about her and his feelings as she's been burned before. As the story goes on we see how these two spend time together, crowd each other when needed and give space too.
The timeline of events matches that of Chen & Elles' and I absolutely loved that because we get miniscule amounts of their story again.♡

The passion was coming out in waves, the plotline was great and every factor was covered. I liked how Tate remembered small tiny things like the HP books and was protective in a good way.

If you're looking for a sweet, insta love story with a small issue then this is definitely the book you're looking for!

Enchanting, passionate, and oh so romantic!

Rosie owns a design firm and has been hired to develop the hotel for OrbitAll’s commercial space flight experience. She is recovering from a bad ending to her last relationship which makes her wary of trusting others. Kasey wrote this character in a way that the reader could see her strength which makes you cheer her on to recognize it for herself.

Tate is a dream! Coming from a family upbringing that valued legacy over love, the minute he saw Rosie he knew his life was forever changed. His patience and determination was endearing. He became a steamy safe haven for Rosie. He is super protective, extremely driven, and also likes his downtime and privacy. Tate is also incredible at surprises; surprise dates, huge surprise acts of kindness … it will all make you swoon.

I loved all the portions of the story that occurred in San Diego. Originally from San Diego, it was like going back home and visiting all my favorite places - Little Italy, Balboa Park, and Old Town.

This is the second book in the series and the timeline with the first book overlaps. I recommend you read this series in order.
