This edition marks the first English translation by Pippa Storm, offering readers a clear and thoughtful rendering of the original text.
Isa has sworn off men completely — her Halloween plan? A cozy night alone with horror movies and spooky decorations. But when the power goes out, she’s left with no choice but to knock on the door of her far-too-handsome neighbor, Jack. So much for a quiet night. So much for her good intentions.
And as if that wasn’t embarrassing not long after, she finds herself — thanks to a mix of Malibu Cola, cheesy Christmas songs, and her sister — on stage in a sexy elf costume... wearing granny panties. Standing right in front of her? One grumpy, impossibly attractive man. Jack.
A sparkling romcom full of awkward moments, undeniable chemistry, and the can you really avoid someone when fate has other plans?
This book could've been so much longer. I would have loved to learn more about both of their personalities. Their hobby's, family's, friends and such. But fortunately for me, I believe that there will be a second book! I also loved the little hints to Dutch holidays and shops, but I could see that it might be a bit hard for non Dutch readers to understand this. But this was only a very small part of the book. Can't wait to read more of this author!!
I thought this one was pretty fun. It’s a smutty romcom about two neighbors who become a kind of friends with benefits situation, while obviously wanting more.
The story has both Halloween and Christmas vibes, and the smut was very entertaining. What I did not see coming at all, though, was the time skip in the middle of the already quite short book. Because of that, I genuinely didn’t know if I should be rooting for them or if I wanted to shake them both, since they literally just refuse to communicate with each other.
Not exactly a technical masterpiece, but definitely a fun and easy read.
