Poems and poetic prose are the author’s responses to living in the outer world and that of her inner one, while grappling with the changing mores and values of American contemporary culture during years upheaval.
In these difficult times in our world, Hudak has explored the many thoughts and emotions we humans share, both those resulting from the outer world, and those emanating from within us. Though they are bite-sized, but do not mistake that with shallowness. "Deep Sleep" and "Wool Blanket" particularly resonated with me, and I imagine you will find favorites of your own to return to again and again.
