I thought the Secret Santa gift was a joke. I was wrong.
Someone at my office Christmas party knows about my past. The past I've spent fifteen years running from. The past I've medicated away until I could almost believe it never happened.
The snow globe on my desk proves otherwise. It's a perfect replica of my childhood home—right down to the crooked porch light. No one here should know that house. No one here should know what happened there.
But they do.
And when my coworker is found dead in the supply closet with another "gift" on her chest, I realize this isn't about Secret Santa anymore.
The blizzard has trapped us in the office overnight. Fifteen people. One killer. And me—the target of someone's twisted holiday game.
The problem? I can't remember that Christmas Eve fifteen years ago. The medication has made sure of that. But as the night wears on and the gifts keep appearing, fragments of memory start to surface.
Terrible memories.
Memories that suggest maybe I'm not the innocent victim everyone thinks I am.
Maybe I never was.
A darkly festive psychological thriller for fans of Freida McFadden and Lucy Foley. Because the best Christmas stories are the ones that shatter.
This was so far fetched even for a holiday fictional thriller and there were 4 different story lines happening at once that didn’t seem to go together.
On a positive note it was a quick audio listen on kindle unlimited for the holiday season and will help towards your reading goal with being just over 100 pages.
Workplace drama that had a whole lot of secrets! These eerie gifts that were left gave new meaning to “Secret Santa” as it’s evident that the past doesn’t always stay buried! Fun quick holiday read.
I loved this workplace secret santa story! I was entertained the whole time. The gifts were super creepy since they knew so much about her. I would hate to be trapped at my job overnight because of storm so I can't imagine how they felt especially with a killer on the loose. The ending felt so rush and fake. I did not appreciate the ending or the killer at all. The first 75% of this book was amazing though!
Full of twists, each more unbelievable than the last, then to top it all off, it ends in a cliffhanger! Add the computer generated voice into the audible mix and I’d give it fewer stars than 1 if I could.
I was not enjoying this book until the last quarter. The storyline got better. But damn those coworkers were assholes. I won’t continue with the series though.
