Per usual, Elle knocks it out of the park and gives us a story that you feel deep down in your soul and has you craving the stillness and peace that comes with finding yourself and your people. The first chapter takes your breath away and the events and emotions from it carry throughout the entire book. Our FMC, Rose, was so admirable and I loved watching her doing hard things, standing up for herself and although it wasn't easy - she started and continued to put herself first after years and years of putting work and others ahead of herself. I instantly fell in love with our MMC, Charlie, from our first interaction with him in chapter 1 and yearned for each next interaction so we could learn a little more about him. I loved that both characters didnt' go into their relationship wanting to change the other... although that was something that needed to happen for their relationship to endure... they still didn't ask it of the other and each character made that decision on their own. I always love returning to Tunbridge and peace the stories that take place within it bring.

This was such a beautiful story. I loved the way Rose really grew and started to stand up for herself and refused to let herself be dragged back to her past life that was no longer serving her. Charlie was a hero from the very beginning and I loved how unassuming he was. The slow burn on this was amazing and I loved the way the story was able to develop naturally and that both characters were navigating how they could fit into each other’s worlds. The mentions of the characters from the last two books really helped to bring the series together and I loved the way they were interwoven into the story. I loved Charlie’s POV chapters, it really helped me understand him more as a character. I liked the fact that both Charlie and Rose went through traumatic experiences and it helped them to realize what was really important to them. I thought this was a really incredible story about what it feels like to come home when you finally figure out what home is to you. Another truly beautiful and heartfelt story from Elle.

The Light at Grace Hill ✈️
I was asked to be an ARC reader on this book and I could not have been more honored. Elle writes the most beautiful, soulful romances based here in a small mountain town of Georgia and they just make you feel so right at home.

Rose is an Atlanta marketing professional, working her way to the top when tragedy strikes and she dozes off while driving to her parents home late one night. The only reason she survives is a deep voices stranger who springs into action and gives her first aid until emergency services can arrive. Bringing her home to recover, rose can’t shake that this is where she’s meant to be. She leaves Atlanta behind and heads home to Tunbridge and all its tiny town qualities, touching the parts of herself long hidden away, wondering who saved her life.
When she hears that voice at the local diner, she knows in her soul, that it’s him. Her childhood teachers son, Charlie. Charlie is a pilot, constantly in the air, going to all these countries and new places she can only dream of seeing someday.
While working consulting for the town businesses a relationship begins to grow between Rose and her lifesaving stranger, bringing them to believe there’s so much more between them to be discovered. But can Charlie keep his feet on the ground long enough to find out, and is there enough room for Rose to find out, while still discovering where she belonged all along?

As always, Elle has a way with beautiful love stories and this one was no exception!

The Light At Grace Hill is both a hug and a dose of encouragement wrapped up between pages. The first chapter hits the ground running as we witness Rose get into a terrible accident...an accident where Charlie rescues her. *cue sparks

This accident is not all negative though, it alters Rose and her perspective on the life she's leading. A perspective where she realizes that it's time to focus or her wants, her needs, and what will truly make her happy. Rose decides to kick start this new view on life by moving back to her cozy hometown of Tunbridge.

A new place to call home, a new vision on her career, and a new love interest might not be at all what Rose was expecting, but it's absolutely what she deserves. 🤍

The Light At Grace Hill is not to be missed! I had the pleasure to be both a BETA reader and an ARC reader and I saw how Elle perfectly evolved this story from top to bottom!

5 stars!!

⭐ Synopsis – The Light at Grace Hill by Elle Christopher

When Rose flees to the quiet refuge of Grace Hill, she’s carrying more than just her belongings, she’s carrying the weight of what she’s survived. Determined to rebuild, she finds herself drawn into the warm, close-knit rhythm of small-town life, where healing isn’t a linear path but a slow unfolding. Enter Charlie: steady, patient, and living a very different kind of quiet struggle. As their paths intertwine, Rose and Charlie discover a gentle, believable pull toward one another, two people learning to trust again, finding comfort in simple moments, new routines, and the unexpected sense of belonging that Grace Hill offers. A heartfelt, grounded slow burn about rebuilding, connection, and choosing the life you deserve.

⭐⭐ My Review

I absolutely loved the realism in this slow burn between Rose and Charlie. This feels like the kind of story you sink into, where the characters feel lived-in, layered, and honest about their healing journeys.

From page one, Rose’s experience had me holding my breath. Her challenges, her growth, and the way she slowly lets light back into her life were written with so much care. Charlie’s healing looked completely different, and I loved how the story explored two very distinct paths toward becoming whole again, and how those paths can still find their way toward each other.

The closed-door romance, the found family warmth, and the focus on simple joys made the emotional moments shine even brighter. It’s gentle, grounded, and meaningful. A romance that feels refreshingly real, showing how two people can build something steady and hopeful together.

ARC Review - Two 5 stars in one week. Lucky me! Yes this is romance—but honestly it’s so much more. It’s self-discovery. It’s betting on yourself and believing there’s more out there and it’s okay to take the path less traveled. Is it scary yes. Can it be even more rewarding—hell yeah! Risk usually results in the biggest reward. This book just 100% resonates with where I am in life and I loved it.

Rose and Charlie’s love story is just icing on the cake. I loved Rose’s tenacity and bravery. Charlie’s steady brooding was the perfect amount of grumpy(x)sunshine. They were both in search of something bigger individually and found that and more!

Is it a 5 star because it just gets me right now? Maybe. Is it a 5 star because the authors writing is so eloquent, immersive, and vivid? Yup. Is it a 5 star because I’m falling more and more in love with the town of Tunbridge and this series? Absolutely.

I love the small-town feels. I love the characters and how our favorites return. I love the stories and I love that it feels like home. But most of all I love watching the author grow into her writing journey beautifully and letting us be a part of her small-town, picturesque, found family world.

What are you waiting for? Start book one in the Tunbridge series today!

**Thank you to author Elle Christopher for trusting me with more early reading. I received an Advanced Reader Copy for the Dec 9 2025 release in exchange for my honest review.

The Light at Grace Hill was only my second visit to Tunbridge... but already there is something about this smalltown that feels like coming home. So much of that has to do with the beautiful way that Elle Christopher tells stories. This particular book started off with a bang, a near fatal car crash... and yet, the story had a gentleness and calm to it that I couldn't help but love... and one that felt so fitting for Rose and Charlie's story. These were both characters whose work was their life, always on the move... until life slowed them down. Theirs was truly a story of growth, with the interactions between the two being more infrequent than one might expect in a romance for the first half. Admittedly, this isn't ways something I prefer and yet, for them and this story, it worked. Those interactions had more impact and lead to a beautiful slow burn... and once it picked up in the second half of the book, it made it worth the wait. It was tender and heartwarming, and truly a beautiful romance. If you're looking for a little calm in the busy-ness, this is one not to be missed.

The Light at Grace Hill is a closed-door romance with kisses only. It is the third book in The Tunbridge series but could be enjoyed as a standalone as well.

**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.

The Light at Grace Hill is my first introduction to the Tunbridge Series. Now, I want to read all the books that come before Rose and Charlie's story.

Rose, Charlie and the lake at Tunbridge have claimed a piece of my heart and they are welcome to live there, forever.

Elle Christopher has a way with words that will make you feel like you are right there with them having waffles and running from the wind and the rain.

You will feel like you are at the lake with Rose and Charlie, as the words in this story float along the lake with the wind wrapping themselves around your heart, giving a gentle squeeze, sparking desire and longing for love and a story you didn't even know you needed in your life.

I loved everything about Rose and Charlie's story. The emotion, the longing, the love, the lake, their families, and of course, their friends.

Set aside some time to read The Light at Grace Hill, it's a five-star read for me and I'm sure it will be for you as well.

Thank you to Elle Christopher, for an ARC e-copy of The Light At Grace Hill.

It's a beautiful story and I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to spend time with Rose and Charlie. 🤍

Another book by Elle Christopher that I absolutely love. This is my 3rd time being an beta/arc reader for this author and im in awe. AGAIN.

I found the storyline to be well-paced, full of tension and vulnerability, and yet still has that cozy feeling of a small town romance.

🔹️"Tell me something true..."

I personally liked seeing the main character choosing and standing up for herself. Rose really was seeking more in life and it was remarkable to see how her thought process changed as the story went on. It was interesting to see how Rose and Charlie grew together too as the story went on. You see some personal struggles from them that come to light and it had me on the edge of my seat. There's a point in the story where I REALLY worried on what was going to happen.

🔹️“Then you better decide whether she’s an anchor or a compass.”

The Light at Grace Hill is a masterpiece. Some of the tropes are found family, friends to lovers, age gap, and broken hero.

🔹️"That I used to chase sunsets for a living,” he said. “And now they come to me.”

know that every time I go back to Tunbridge I am going to walk away with a full heart and a deep ache to return. This story was the kind that is hard to put into words because it grabs hold of you from the inside out. It was emotional, gripping, and full of the kind of redemption that stays with you long after the final page.

Rose was the kind of strong female character who feels both familiar and irreplaceable, like reconnecting with an old friend you did not realize you missed. And Charlie… he was warmth, steadiness, and that quiet sense of safety you cannot help but fall for. Seeing familiar faces from previous books only added to the comfort and nostalgia woven through every chapter.

This book wraps around you in the best way. It feels like a hug while you read, the kind that squeezes a little tighter at the moments you need it most. A wholehearted five stars.

The Light at Grace Hill is a beautiful, soul-touching story about slowing down long enough to see what—and who—truly matters. It follows a woman who kept herself so consumed with work that she didn’t realize what was right in front of her. After a life-changing car accident, she’s forced to pause, breathe, and reevaluate her path. Returning home to Tunbridge becomes the beginning of her healing.

There, she meets a handsome pilot—someone just as driven and work-obsessed as she once was. As their worlds collide, they each learn to step back from the constant hustle. Watching them both soften, open up, and allow love in is one of the most rewarding parts of the story.

Elle Christopher delivers a tender, uplifting romance about second chances, finding balance, and discovering light in unexpected places. It’s a warm, heartfelt read that stays with you long after the final page.

The Light at Grace Hill completely swept me in. The opening hooked me instantly, and from there the story just kept getting deeper and more beautiful. Rose’s journey pulled at my heart in such a real way, and Charlie… he’s the kind of hero you fall for quietly and then all at once.

The slow burn between them is perfection. So many moments felt soft, intentional, and full of emotion. And the small-town atmosphere? Tunbridge feels like a place you want to step into and stay awhile.

This book left me thinking about my own life, the choices we make, and how it feels when someone finally sees you for who you really are. It’s heartfelt, vivid, and full of warmth. I cannot wait for the next book in this series!

Sometimes a book finds you exactly when you need it. The Light At Grace Hill reminded me that success means nothing if we lose ourselves trying to reach it. Rose’s story felt like looking in a mirror at my own past, only she went further, paused, and chose to rebuild piece by piece. She chose herself, her family, her freedom, and love that felt like breathing again. Charlie, a wanderer who finally stopped running, unfolded with her in the softest way. Their love was patient, warm, and honest. Elle’s writing feels like a hug on a cold night, a pause between storms, a whisper telling you to come back home to what matters.

The second book I’ve read by this amazing author. Elle Christopher has a gift for honest emotions. The descriptive phrases in this book- about the light on a lake, the smell of cinnamon, the warmth of a heart, family-just bring a peaceful feeling.
Rose survives a car accident, and suddenly her marketing job in Atlanta is no longer vital. The strong arms and sure voice who rescued her from her shattered SUV belong to a pilot-Charlie-who is also looking for a place to land.
Just a lovely, lovely, warm story. I received this ARC at no charge from BookSirens and the author, but all opinions are mine.

4.5⭐

if there's one thing that Elle does beautifully, it's set a scene. Her descriptions are poetic in a way that the setting sinks in, nice and warm.

Rose starts her journey by driving home, to Tunbridge GA, too late into the night. When she nods off behind the wheel, she crashes and her whole changes. Corporate America is wearing on her and men are taking credit but giving no effort to the success of "the team".

Nearly dying has Rose course correcting her life. She's forgotten that small-town life brings the quiet and the connection that she craves for, after the overstimulating buzz of Atlanta.

Enter Charlie. Our MMC not only sees Rose, but he was there the night everything changed. The problem? He's always chasing his own escape among the clouds. Never trusting the steadiness of his hometown, he doesn't stay put.

Tunbridge seems a soft place for anyone to land, especially when it's home.

Here's some of my favorite quotes:

“Most people chase certainty until it outruns them.”

“That your porch light looks like a decision. That my toothbrush in your cabinet is the best view I’ve had in months. That when I say goodnight to you, I say it to the part of myself that has finally chosen to land.”

“I love you. But love should never leave this much doubt.”

Thank you Elle for giving me the honor of ARCing all of the Tunbridge books. Rose is so relatable to me, in many ways.

Life is hard. Sometimes truly horrific things happen, arriving without warning and leaving devastation in their wake. What ultimately defines a person, however, is not the trauma itself, but the choices made in its aftermath. The Light at Grace Hill explores this idea with quiet grace, following the story of Rose, a woman who has spent her entire life fixated on 'the next thing'. She is always moving forward, always planning, never pausing long enough to reflect, until twisted metal and flashing lights force her to stop. In that moment of enforced stillness, Rose must decide whether this event will define her forever, or become a necessary course correction that leads her towards a fuller, more intentional life.

Although this is the third instalment in Elle Christopher's Tunbridge Series, it stands out for how confidently it welcomes new readers. Too often, later books in a series rely heavily on prior knowledge, leaving newcomers feeling as though they have missed something essential. That is not the case here. Familiar faces from earlier books do appear, but they exist to enrich the setting rather than dominate it. Long-time readers will appreciate the added layers of history and emotional continuity. At the same time, those starting here are given fully realised, vibrant characters who make sense within the confines of this story alone. It is a delicate balance, and one Christopher handles with considerable skill, allowing the small-town world of Tunbridge to feel lived-in and expansive without ever becoming overwhelming.

Elle Christopher is not simply a writer; she is, quite clearly, an artist. She does not merely describe scenes; she paints with words. Her prose is rich and immersive, filled with sensory detail that pulls the reader directly into the heart of the story. You can see the light glittering as it dances across the rippling surface of the lake, feel the winter chill in the air, and almost smell the spiced sweetness drifting from the Christmas market stalls. This attention to atmosphere gives the novel an undeniably tender, almost ethereal quality. Every chapter is steeped in emotion, creating a reading experience that feels gentle, reflective, and quietly uplifting.

That same strength, however, also gives rise to the book's one notable weakness. At times, Christopher relies a little too heavily on repeated phrasing. Certain expressions, most notably 'the kind of', appear with surprising frequency. On their own, these repetitions are minor, but when they occur multiple times on the same page, they can momentarily pull the reader out of the story. For those who simply want to sink into the beauty of the language and the mood it creates, this may barely register. For more detail-oriented readers, however, it may prove mildly distracting. It is not a flaw that undermines the novel as a whole, but it is worth noting.

At its core, The Light at Grace Hill is a slow-burning romance, and it is all the stronger for that restraint. The connection between the two central characters unfolds gradually, built on shared vulnerability, mutual respect, and emotional honesty. Both carry their own scars and unresolved pain, yet neither is reduced to their trauma. Watching them tentatively reach towards one another feels authentic and deeply human, avoiding the rushed intensity that often plagues romantic storylines. This is a love story, certainly, but it is equally a story of self-discovery, healing, and personal growth.

One of the novel's greatest strengths is its portrayal of a strong female lead who does not lose herself for the sake of romance. Rose's journey is firmly her own. Love becomes part of her life, not its sole purpose, and that distinction is refreshing. Too many stories still equate fulfilment with romantic sacrifice; The Light at Grace Hill resists that narrative, instead celebrating self-worth and independence. It is also a closed-door romance, free of explicit scenes, allowing emotion, connection, and meaningful interaction to drive the story forward. In that sense, it feels like a palate cleanser, proof that intimacy can be conveyed powerfully without relying on shock value or cliché.

Overall, The Light at Grace Hill is a beautiful, quietly compelling novel. It draws the reader in from the very first chapter and holds them there with its warmth, emotional depth, and richly drawn setting. The characters are flawed, relatable, and entirely human, navigating a world that is imperfect but recognisably real. In that imperfection, they find moments of light, connection, and hope. It is a story that lingers long after the final page, reminding us that sometimes being forced to stop is exactly what we need to find our way forward.

Thank you to Elle Christopher for providing me with an eARC. All opinions are my own.

The Light at Grace Hill by Elle Christopher
Book 3: Tunbridge Series
Genre: Romance
Length: 348 pages
Pub Date: Dec. 9, 2025
My Rating: 5 stars!

Thank you to author, Elle Christopher, for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Summary:
Rose Bennett was slaving away in the marketing industry in the big city until one fateful night - a car accident that changed her life. Rescued out of the wreckage, Rose went home to her small hometown of Tunbridge, Georgia to recuperate. Seeing this near-death experience as a wake-up call, Rose quits her job and chooses to live temporarily in Tunbridge until she can find what or where her life will lead.

Meanwhile, Charlie Warren, a pilot from Tunbridge, has spent his last two decades flying all over the world and never staying too long at home. While driving home after a flight, he witnesses Rose’s horrific car accident and becomes her rescuer… but who is really rescuing whom? This small town romance is full of heart, second chances (at life), and how to start anew and let someone in.

Review:
I loved Rose and Charlie’s story so much! Each of them was looking for a fresh start and I think that is so relatable to people. Elle Christopher really knows how to reveal the innermost longings and thoughts of her characters and make it come alive in beauty and grace. Rose always had the help and support of her family in (and away from) Tunbridge, and her journey was just as much about how you can lean on your loved ones in times of questioning and uncertainty. Another thing I enjoyed was the supporting characters from Tunbridge, many of who felt like old friends or folks I know in real life. This novel is definitely a standalone, but if you have read books 1 and 2 of the Tunbridge series, it is even more enjoyable to see how the other townspeople fit into Rose and Charlie’s love story. As with her other books, The Light at Grace Hill is a closed door romance, but with just the right amount of longing and passion from unspoken words. I can’t wait to see what other beauty Elle captures on paper in the next book in the series!

A gentle, cosy rhythm

She is afraid of stopping. He can’t make himself stay. When the world forces them both to return home, they find peace in The Light At Grace Hill.

When Rose is forced to slow down by a serious car accident, she discovers the career she has invested a decade into will not wait for her. With her work and promotion handed to someone else, she takes that as a sign and returns to her home town.

As she picks up the pieces of her life, she finds the man who pulled her from the wreckage of her car is also a local - Charlie, a pilot who is constantly on the move and sees leaving as freedom. Charlie finds himself challenged to work out what he wants from his life…and whether he has finally found someone who makes himself stay want to stay.

This romance is just beautiful. It is slow burn and gentle, allowing the readers to watch Charlie and Rose’s relationship grow organically. They are surrounded by a loving supportive cast, but the focus is truly on their love story.

The book sells small town living in the best way. It is a full sensory experience, immersing the reader in the sounds, smells and sights of Tunbridge. Each word is selected carefully and deliberately, like a painter selecting the colours of a palate. The result is a richly woven narrative with a gentle, cosy rhythm.

This romance is slow burn with nothing beyond kisses. There is a detailed description of the car crash and flash backs throughout the book. Rose encounters misogyny in her workplace as she is passed over for a promotion because she is “hard to manage”. It is otherwise a low-trigger book and should be safe for most readers.

I cannot recommend this series enough to fans of contemporary romance. For anyone who feels the need to come home, the lights at Grace Hill are on.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐚𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐥𝐥 is the third book in the Tunbridge series by Elle Christopher featuring an emotional friends to lovers closed-door romance for Rose and Charlie. I love feeling confident now that every trip back to Tunbridge is going to include the beautiful world building and imagery that makes me feel like I’m right there, as well as the compelling characters that feel like friends! I did not expect such a high intensity, shocking start, but what a way to pull the readers in!! When a life-altering incident causes Rose to return home to reevaluate her priorities in life, she rediscovers her inner strength in a way that should inspire women everywhere! I love that she’s strong in business, but also compassionate outside of it. Then there’s Charlie, a broken hero pilot with wanderlust and a resistance to roots whose life tilts on its axis when Rose shows up! I love when a man meets his game changer and doesn’t know how to handle it!😉 The thing about closed-door romance is, the author has to convey the chemistry through faint touches, meaningful glances, emotional intimacy, and eventual kisses. Elle Christopher seems to excel at this, making this slow burn approach feel like exactly what works for her characters. I was totally locked into the twists and turns of their emotional journey, even finding myself tearing up at one point! Tunbridge exudes so much small town charm… every glimpse of the previous couples made me smile, and every activity and antic made me excited for the next story!

I received an ARC for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.

The Light at Grace Hill is a beautifully written, reflective romance and a standout addition to Elle Christopher’s Tunbridge Series. This third installment delivers a story that is thoughtful, emotionally grounded, and deeply human.
Rose and Charlie’s relationship unfolds slowly and intentionally, allowing space for growth, self-reflection, and emotional honesty. Rose returns home after a life-altering event and begins to reassess what success and fulfillment truly mean. Charlie, a man who has always found freedom in movement and distance, is forced to confront what it means to stay and build a life rather than simply pass through it.
What makes this novel shine is its quiet wisdom. The prose is lyrical without being heavy, filled with moments that feel authentic and earned. There is no rushed chemistry or dramatic spectacle—just a gentle, realistic exploration of love, healing, and the courage it takes to choose a different path.
Elle Christopher excels at writing characters who feel real, flawed, and relatable. Their journeys are introspective and emotionally resonant, making this a story best read slowly and savored. Fans of character-driven romance and emotionally rich storytelling will find much to love here.
The Light at Grace Hill is a poignant reminder that some love stories aren’t about transformation, but about coming home to yourself.
Highly recommended for readers who enjoy slow-burn romance, introspective themes, and beautifully crafted prose.

4.5 bumped up to 5

I don’t know why but something told me that this was going to be my favorite book of the series thus far. I was not wrong! This book grabbed me from page one. Elle Christopher paints such a vivid, intimate picture of what it means to lose yourself in ambition—and what it takes to find your way back. Rose’s return to Tunbridge is written with such honesty and I was rooting for her at every step of her rebuilding.

While Rose was in the process of slowing down and returning to what really mattered, Charlie wasn’t quite ready to be grounded. He knew he wasn’t living the life he wanted but had a hard time making changes.

I liked that book 2 brought in characters from book one but this one was even better. There was so much more connection and relationship building between the characters. I loved how much we got to hear about Sam and Emerson again! This book is about second chances—at life, at love, at choosing yourself, and ultimately about focusing on what’s most important in life. If you love character-driven romance with heart, hope, and stunning emotional depth, this is a must-read. I’m still thinking about these characters.

Thank you to author Elle Christopher. I received an Advanced Reader Copy for the 2025 release in exchange for my honest review.

Grab your huckleberry lemonade and get cozy!!!!!
Elle Christopher has done it again!!!! I absolutely adore her books!!!!! This entire series would make a memorable gift for yourself or a friend!!
The Light At Grace Hill
is book 3 in the Tunbridge Series of interconnected stand-alones. Each set in the same small town of Tunbridge, Georgia, but with its own complete love story.
If I could pick a fictional place to move to, this would be it!!! This is how much I love her setting and characters!!!

This books starts with a horrific wreck that makes you think about how quickly your life can change in the blink of a flash.

Come and fall in love with Rose and Charlie! You'll also get to hear more about the characters from book 1 and 2 as they are intertwined in each book.

A couple of my favorite quotes you'll find in the book:

BOOKS ARE THE QUICKEST WAY TO GROW A WISER HEART.
Real yeses, the kind that comes with pie and hugs

"Some love stories don't change who you are. They bring you home."

The Light at Grace Hill by Elle Christopher is a quietly arresting novel that explores survival in its truest sense—not just living through an accident, but learning how to live afterward. The story opens with a vividly rendered car crash that immediately grounds the reader in fear and disorientation. From there, the novel turns inward, following Rose as she confronts the life she nearly lost and the life she’s been forcing herself to endure.

Christopher’s prose is controlled, lyrical, and emotionally intelligent. She captures burnout, ambition, and corporate betrayal with uncomfortable accuracy, especially in scenes that expose how easily loyalty and hard work are discarded. Equally compelling is the contrast between the relentless pace of Rose’s professional world and the restorative stillness of Tunbridge, which becomes a character in its own right.

This is not a plot-driven thriller or a sweeping romance. It’s a reflective, character-centered story about recalibration, boundaries, and the courage to walk away from what no longer fits. Readers who appreciate introspective fiction and emotional realism will find this novel deeply satisfying and quietly unforgettable.

The Light at Grace Hill by Elle Christopher

I really enjoyed the first book in the Tunbridge series and honestly thought nothing could top it. However, the third book comes very close to becoming my new favorite in the series. I think it might be my favorite.

Rose is deeply focused on her work and career. After a car accident forces her to take time off, her company ends up giving her promotion to someone else and moving on without her. Rose decides to take the time and recover at her hometown and unexpectedly runs into the man who helped pull her from her car after the accident. Their romance is a slow burn, filled with longing, and it’s absolutely lovely.

This story carries a beautiful message about life. It reminds us that a job isn’t our whole world and encourages us to focus on other aspects of living, building connections with neighbors & your community, slowing down, and appreciating each day, because life can be short. This is a soft, gentle love story that truly fills your heart.

This book is perfect for fans of small-town romance, stories about being overworked and finding your place in life again, a pilot MMC (hehe), and sweet, slow-burn love story.

Thank you so much to Elle Christopher for the gifted eARC!

I am in awe at how much Elle Christopher is able to evoke with her books. This is another winner and such a lovely story that will wring you out before setting you in place.

The book starts with a bang and tragedy, and a great metaphor for the life Rose was experiencing, work, stress, people ahead of her, just led her to a place where she could not breath anymore. So she is back in Turnbridge for rest and a slower pace that will help with healing. Here is where she meets Charlie, a man who has always been in the air, from place to place never setting roots. As he is also in town to recharge, they will meet and get to share experiences, moments. They are both trying to find themselves again after the wreckage the past years have left behind.

Their slow burn relationship is one created from time, space, understanding and lots of insight. They are not in a rush to live, but more in a situation of savoring the time, taking account of the moments, being self aware of each other and self. Their relationship slowly blooms as they grow into their new selves.

A great read!!.

4.5 ⭐️ rounded up

I have no idea how Elle does it, but she writes such beautiful stories that touch you soul deep. This is the second book I've read in the Turnbridge series and this series feels like coming home. Rose is a strong FMC. She's dedicated to her career, to the point where she's working herself ragged, and it causes her to get into a series car accident. As she's healing, Rose takes a step back to rethink her priorities in life. She decides to leave her life in the big city and return home to her smalltown of Turnbridge where she meets a pilot named Charlie. Charlie is the much the same as Rose. Always flying off somewhere. Another city, another country. Never home long. When fate brings Rose and Charlie together they both start to rethink what they want. The more time they spend together when Charlie is in town, the more the chemistry between them builds. Their relationship builds slow over time. It's such a sweet love story. They blossom and grow together over the course of the story. Nothing is rushed, everything felt real, meaningful, and authentic. I can't wait to revisit Turnbridge.

A nice, sweet, not perfect but figuring-out love story.
An accident makes Rose see things clearer in her life. She finds herself and new work options in her hometown.
This accident is the start of a tender, quiet, patient bond between Rose and Charlie. He's great when he's present, but feeling restless, work may not be the answer anymore.
With some struggles, they find a way to be there for each other and content with themselves, accepting changes, and finding what they were looking for all along.
To love someone isn't enough if part of oneself is missing.

Another beautiful and poignant love story from Elle. Her characters and scenes are always heartfelt and powerful. You'll be immersed in the book from the get-g0. Rose is an FMC I can relate to - working hard and feeling undervalued. She makes the decision to return to Tunbridge after recovering from the accident, and the choice feels like a sigh of relief. She and Charlie finding each other and coming together is then a swoon. Getting to see both sides of their struggle is a perfect blend to showing the resolution. A strong message that love is something worth fighting for.

Elle did it again with another small town romance from the Tunbridge series— that will leave you emotional and loved. The plot was so smooth and compelling in a way that it was made with love and coziness. Rose’s character was so powerful and motivational while Charlie was relatable in a way that I see him as a current me, being “go with the flow” and free but still searching for the right time to settle. This is such a cozy yet emotional and unforgettable read plus the perfect timing of this book in my current achievement.
