Love or hate, they can't stay away from each other

When good friends Lyndsey and Aiden wake up married in Vegas, everything is chaos. Naturally, Lyndsey wants a divorce from the Ice Hockey star after her drunken mistake, but Aiden isn't quite ready to call it quits.

Knowing that he needs to stay married to gain his parent's inheritance, Aiden convinces Lyndsey to join him at his home in Texas - and fake being the perfect wife to his family.

But both get more than they bargained for when news of their wedding hits the press. For the sake of family and friendship, their game of playing pretend doesn't end - not even when blackmailers threaten to reveal truths about Lyndsey's past.

As both Aidan and Lyndsey shoulder their battles, can the team captain really hold them both together? And could they even fake it until they make it?

An unmissable, spicy sporting romance, filled with chemistry and passion. Fans of Hannah Grace and Bal Khabra will love this.

I read Tegan Phillips debut romance and the first book in this series, Melting for You, earlier this year and really enjoyed it so knew that I would have to read more from her as released more books and I am so glad that I decided to do because this one was just as good and another romance I want a physical copy for on my shelves.

Hot & Cold follows friends Lyndsey and Aiden who wake up married in Vegas unable to remember what happened, straight away Lyndsey wants a divorce however Aiden isn't ready to give up on their relationship, particularly given he needs to be married to get his inheritance so he convinces Lyndsey to go back to Texas with him and pretend to be his wife. However when the news of their marriage hits the press both get more than they bargained for and their game of pretend doesn't end even when Lyndsey is targeted by a blackmailer.

I went into this one with quite high hopes given how much I enjoyed Melting For You and I was not disappointed. It took me a bit longer to get into this book but once I was invested I loved everything that I read.

One thing I particularly loved was spending time with Aiden's family which I wasn't really anticipating going in, maybe because I decided to read it based on the author and series rather than the blurb, but ended up being one of my favourite bits of the book. I particularly loved seeing the dynamic between the siblings as someone with two sisters myself and how much they supported each other both normally and when things were hard. I don't know if there is going to be another book in this Series but if there is I definitely know who I want it to follow.

Something else I loved about this book was watching the relationship between Aiden and Lyndsey develop, particularly after seeing the start of it in book 1. It definitely felt like it developed at the right pace for both the characters and story, particularly with everything else that had happened and was going on. There felt like there was a lot of plot in this romance which I didn't mind but did slightly change what I wanted from the story and I did think that everything was wrapped up to the level I wanted.

This book unfortunately featured less of the Spears Hockey team but I did really enjoy the glimpses we got of them, along with seeing more of Ellis and Liam's little family.

Overall I really enjoyed reading this one and I look forward to seeing what Tegan Phillips releases next. This is definitely also now a hockey romance series I would recommend to fans of the genre.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of Hot & Cold by Tegan Phillips.

This book had a genuinely fun and promising premise — the kind of setup that immediately makes you think it’ll be a witty, emotional, opposites-attract rom-com with heart. Unfortunately, while the idea was strong, the execution just didn’t deliver the depth or consistency needed to make it work.

From the start, the writing felt a little immature. There’s an unevenness to the tone that made it hard to stay grounded in the story — the dialogue often doesn’t sound like how real people would actually talk, and conversations sometimes feel more like exposition dumps than organic exchanges. Instead of letting the reader discover who these characters are through their choices or interactions, the story tends to have them just blurt out personal details or backstory out of nowhere. It’s all tell and very little show, which really limits any emotional impact or sense of character growth.

Another major issue for me was how the characters are written. They’re supposed to be around 28, but they often act far younger. Their reactions, insecurities, and communication style feel much closer to late teens than adults approaching thirty. That immaturity makes it difficult to take their conflicts or romantic tension seriously — it’s hard to root for characters who don’t seem to be acting their age. The FMC in particular is overly dramatic at times, reacting to situations with a level of intensity that feels out of proportion to what’s actually happening.

On top of that, some of the logic within the story just doesn’t hold up. For example, the FMC spends an absurd amount of time trying to figure out why the MMC suddenly stopped flirting with her and decided to just be friends — even though, literally a chapter before, we saw him ask her out and she said no. One plus one should really equal two here, but it feels like the story forgot its own setup. Moments like that made the plot feel disjointed and undermined any sense of realism.

Overall, Hot & Cold has potential — the bones of a good story are there, and the premise could have led to something heartfelt and funny. But the rushed pacing, inconsistent characterization, and immature tone kept it from ever finding its footing. With a bit more polish and emotional depth, it could have been something really engaging, but as it stands, it just didn’t click for me.

Thank you to NetGalley (and the publisher) for the ARC of Hot & Cold by Tegan Phillips.

I went into this as the second book in the series—but I hadn’t read the first—and that immediately made the beginning a little challenging. The story pulled me in with its premise: sports romance, and plenty of chemistry. The characters are likable and I enjoyed their interactions, especially how the dynamic of the ice hockey setting adds a layer of energy and tension. According to the publisher’s synopsis, the plot involves two good friends who end up married in Vegas and then have to pretend—to each other and the world—due to unexpected circumstances.
What worked for me:
The characters have good chemistry. There were moments when I felt the attraction, the frustration, and the push-pull between them.
The sports backdrop (ice hockey) gives the story a strong framework and some fun secondary scenes.

Because of the “friends first” vibe, there were times I rooted for them to make sense of their feelings for each other.

What didn’t quite click:

Because I jumped in at book two, I felt a little lost in the early chapters. I wasn’t fully familiar with the backstory and it made some of the references or character behaviours less clear.

The mis-communication between the main characters felt uneven. At times the conflict seemed set up solidly, but then dissolved too easily or without full emotional payoff. This made the tension less satisfying—felt like the conflict existed because it needed to, rather than because it naturally arose from the characters.

The writing and pacing felt choppy in places. Transitions between scenes felt abrupt, and some scenes ended or began in a way that made me pause and wonder “how did we get here so quickly?”

Overall, Hot & Cold was a good read—I enjoyed it, and it entertained me—but it didn’t quite rise to the level of “must-read.” For those who are already invested in the series or who like sports romances and are OK with some structural rough edges, it’ll likely hit the spot. But if you’re looking for deeply layered character growth or seamless plot progression, this one has some bumps.

Would I read more by Tegan Phillips? Yes—I liked enough about her style to consider reading the first book (to fill in the missing backstory), and I’d check future books from her to see how she develops.

This book had the premise and bones to be great, but it ended up being a big miss for me.

I’ll start with what I did like. I really enjoyed that it was told in dual POV and had the marriage of convenience trope, which is one of my favourites. I also loved how Aiden was super supportive and loving toward Lyndsey, especially since her family wasn’t accepting of her sexuality. That part of his character was really sweet and one of the highlights for me.

But the rest just didn’t work. It honestly felt like one big miscommunication between the characters, the storylines, and me as the reader.

The book starts with the main characters waking up married in Vegas, with no memory of how it happened. I didn’t read book one, which probably added to my confusion during the first few chapters, but even as I kept reading, the story started to feel all over the place. The pacing felt off, and I didn’t really feel any chemistry between Lyndsey and Aiden at all. It also got a bit overdramatic and overly complicated at times. There were a lot of details packed in, but not enough dialogue to balance things out.

I also thought the characters were supposed to be older, but the way they acted and spoke made them feel like they were in their early twenties. Overall, the writing came across as a little immature, which made it hard for me to stay engaged.

As a Canadian reader, I have to mention this. I totally get the stereotype that we say “eh” a lot, but the Canadian teammate saying it every time he spoke (three times in the first 10%) felt unnecessary and kind of cringey.

And since this was marketed as a hockey romance, and there was a reference to a Toronto hockey team while the Spears team was based in the U.S, there was this line:
“Players around the *States* should take comfort in the fact that the Spears didn’t make it to the playoffs because if I were on the ice this week…” said by Aiden (MMC).
Which threw me off because Canada doesn’t have states. Maybe the author meant the U.S. specifically, but it just felt weird considering the mention of a Canadian team.

All in all, it took me a while to get through this one, and I don’t think this author’s style is for me. I won’t be continuing the series.

Content warning: There’s mention of death.

ARC- Releases Jan 21, 2026

Thank you to Canelo, Tegan Phillips, and NetGalley for the opportunity to ARC read the book! This review is of my honest opinion 🥰

Lyndsey and Aiden find themselves married after they wake up together in bed. They don't remember anything, but that's Vegas for you. Although, divorce is put on the table immediately, they find themselves helping each other and falling in love on the way.

I'll start by saying that this was a pretty good read. There weren't many areas that I had difficulty with and that means this read was a great experience. For those wondering what I struggled with, they were quite small. One was for the use of darlin' throughout the text. I used to work at a small diner where people from all over came as it was one of the last original diners in the chain. The older people always came in using terms like that to us minors so I couldn't help but see Aiden as an old man when I knew he wasn't. So that is on me 😂 The second issue I had dealt with was the length. It felt like we could use some more scenes that detailed what Lindsey's brother did growing up as we get a hint of it or more between the two MCs. With it being a little short, it felt like we were rushing into the relationship, and with the spicy scenes.

Now the good parts. Lyndsey and Aiden have difficult backgrounds that helped shape who they are in the present time (homophobia, death/grief, intense religious upbringing for those that want to be aware 💚). Tegan wrote them in such a way that many people, including myself, could relate to these two characters and many others you'll see. It gave such a personal touch to the story and I loved that! The writing also showed the characters as good people who have a lot of care for others as they help one another get through difficult times.

If you're looking for a read where the characters support each other rather than give up, give this book a shot! You'll be able to feel the love that everyone has (and not just the main two) and it will create the feeling of happiness (though there will be a moment with a cute old man that may make you want to shed a tear or two). I hope we get to see more of Lyndsey and Aiden!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
🌶️

This was a great follow up from ‘Melting Point’. I was fortunate enough to also receive an ARC of Tegan’s debut novel and loved it. This book was just as great! Our story follows Lyndsey & Aiden, both best friends of Ellis & Liam from the previous book. During turbulent times in the first book these characters heavily lean & rely on each other and become close friends— that is until Lyndsey’s jealous ex gets involved and implodes their friendship. Now Lyndsey can’t stand Aiden but unfortunately she has woken up married in Vegas! Do they stay married and work out their issues or immediately get divorced and act like nothing happened? The pace of this book was great, it really kept you involved and constantly wondering what’s going to happen next. This is *technically* a miscommunication trope but it’s done so well! Tegan goes into great detail about both main characters, their struggles, and gets you on the same page of understanding their headspace during this. I really really enjoyed every bit of this story. The beginning immediately wrapped you in, the struggles throughout, and the mystery of it all in the last half of the book! *chef’s kiss*. The only critique I will make is that I wish we had more background/more in depth on the Vegas night (from an outsider’s perspective), and more follow up on Lyndsey’s family situation and Kayla. Other than that— this was highly enjoyable and I can’t wait for the next in the series!

Hot & Cold by Tegan Phillips is a clever, funny, and introspective story that explores the contradictions we live with — the push and pull between comfort and change, love and independence, warmth and detachment. Phillips’ voice is distinct and sharp; her humor feels effortless, and she has a knack for capturing the awkward, painfully human moments that make relationships feel real.

The first half was a little slow for me, but i appreciate the facf that it was building up to the main story/ and plot. It’s quirky and fast-paced, full of energy and personality. I loved how Phillips blended emotional honesty with biting wit — it felt fresh and relatable without trying too hard. But as the story went on, the momentum started to fade. The middle felt uneven, and I found myself drifting away from the characters. There’s emotional truth here, but it’s sometimes buried under tonal shifts and scenes that didn’t quite land for me.

That said, there are still moments that really shine — snippets of dialogue or reflection that linger long after reading. It’s one of those books that feels almost there: engaging and original, but not as cohesive or impactful as it could have been.

Overall, Hot and Cold is an interesting read that balances humor and heart, even if it doesn’t fully deliver on its potential. I’m glad I read it — it’s thoughtful, messy, and very human — but I wished it had gone just a bit deeper.

Thank you to NetGally and Hera Books for this eARC!

Thanks to NetGalley, I had the chance to read Hot & Cold by Tegan Phillips. Romance books aren’t usually my genre anymore, but I loved them as a teen, so I thought I’d give it another try. What I enjoy about romance stories is that they’re easy to get into and make for a quick, enjoyable read and this book was just that.
Hot & Cold follows Lyndsey and Aiden, two people who have always had a little crush on each other. When they go on a trip to Vegas with friends, they wake up one morning to find themselves accidentally married.
I loved the chemistry between Lyndsey and Aiden, though I have to admit that at times it got a bit cringey, and I even had to put the book down a few times. His “callused hands” were a bit too much of a recurring topic for my taste, and while I usually love a good height difference, I don’t enjoy it when it’s mentioned too often because it starts to feel a bit “pick me.”
I also didn’t love the miscommunication between the two, since a lot of things could have been resolved much sooner if they had just talked about them. What I did enjoy, though, was that the story was told from both points of view, which really lets you experience the feelings they have for each other.
All in all, Phillips’ writing is engaging and easy to follow, and I’d recommend this book to anyone who loves romance, especially those who enjoy the fake boyfriend (or husband) trope. And as a bonus, it’s perfect for anyone who’s into ice hockey players. Personally, I realized that romance books just aren’t my favorite genre anymore, but it was still a fun read.

Tegan Phillips’ Hot & Cold was a romance that hooks you because of how intentionally it’s written. It had wonderfully clean prose, was sharp when it needed to be, and had tons of character detail. Phillips crafted tension with ease and created scenes full of subtext rather than drama.

The central dynamic was one of the books greatest strengths. Phillips built her characters using complex emotional contrast. They struggled with instinct, vulnerability, and communication. The chemistry wasn't forced, simmering between what was said and what was implied. Phillips leaned heavily on tension over drama, and it paid off. She gave readers access to the characters’ contradictions, including their insecurities and blind spots, without over-explaining them. The secondary characters felt thoughtfully constructed, and had voices that added texture to the story rather than only orbiting the main couple.

The tone balanced between heat and vulnerability. Phillips handled intimacy beautifully, using romantic and emotional closeness to portray her characters. She maintains humor throughout the story that keeps it from feeling too heavy. Overall, Hot & Cold showcases the author's talent for writing a character-based romance. It was smart, emotional, and addictive. If you love romances built on strong characters and beautiful writing, this is absolutely worth your time.

Hot & Cold is the second book in the Seattle Players Ice Hockey Series, revolving around Lyndsey and Aiden who end up waking next to each other in Vegas - married.

The first few chapters are slow-paced, giving insight into the characters and what motivates their actions. Then the book really picks up pace after they land in Texas - pretending to be an in-love couple. I really liked their interactions throughout the book, and how thoughtful Aiden was. Lyndsey's character development was amazing, I loved reading her POV in the last part of the book!

A little thing that irked me was the constant mention of Ellis and Liam throughout the story. I loved the scenes that Ellis had with Lyndsey, just giving her the reality check that she needed, but I don't really need to know what a happy and wonderful couple Ellis and Liam are constantly. There were also points in the chapters where there was just an information dump (would have loved more interactions between Lyndsey and Aiden instead!). But overall, it was a fun and nice read.

I am also very excited about the remaining players and their books (Edge!).

Spice: 2/5 (the spice was so well written!)
Overall: 2.75/5

The premise of this story really drew me in. Friends, marriage of convenience/fake dating, hockey romance? All things I love.
I liked the dual pov, and I even enjoyed the flashback scenes.
But there were some things that I did not like.
Lyndsey’s attitude in the beginning really ground my gears. (She had a huge crush on him but was extremely mad that they got hitched while drunk?) Aiden was not much better, saying things like “we woke up together but our underwear was in tact, which means she has even less right to be in my mind right now.”
Also this was marketed as an enemies-to-lovers hockey romance but it was neither of those things really. I never got the vibe that they ever actually hated each other. And there was little-to-no hockey in this book.
That being said, I actually really enjoyed it. It sucked me in with it’s drama (family health issues, exes, and stalkers), and the characters grew on me throughout the book.
If you’re looking for a hockey romance, I would not recommend. But if you’re looking for an interesting contemporary romance, then I would recommend.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!

I am a SUCKER for a good hockey romance so I was excited to have a new one to read. The plot line and ideas are all there. Unfortunately, I just don’t feel like it was executed well.

There is a large amount of run on sentences and grammar issues. I thought at first it was a few things here and there. Until I realized it was an issue throughout the entirety of the book. But this should’ve been caught by an editor. It should be gone through by an editor 3-4 times for grammar/mechanics alone.

There is a lot of over-explaining of conflict, plot issues, and inner monologues vs allowing the reader to understand things organically. And tbh, a LOT of the writing was fluff or repetitiveness.

I didn’t mind Aiden’s character but I found Lyndsey to be a harder pill to swallow.

I also feel like the conflict is unfinished. Is there supposed to be another book? She gets threatened and text messages, finds out who it is, contacts the police…. And then it’s over???? She doesn’t even talk to the person once. And then he shows up in the epilogue and again, doesn’t talk to the person. Idk.

This had potential. Just the execution fell short.

Wow! Loved this so much
For me, this story had so much to love about it.
From the lead male character being a hockey captain that had feelings for a girl he thought he could never have.
To the girl thinking that even though she had a crush on the hockey captain, she would be never good enough for him to be interested in her.
Then a trip to Vegas happened and upon waking Aiden and Lyndsey realise that they are now married.
From there it just keeps getting harder for them to actually put this behind them and get divorced.
A letter is received that changes everything, then tragedy strikes and even blackmail attempts are received leaving both of them reeling but standing by each others side.
It was adorable just how much Aiden cared for Lyndsey and his sisters.
Lyndsey’s effort to show Aiden how much she cared was also beautiful.
This was a fun, emotional, steamy at times story.
I loved how close knit the hockey team were enjoying the storyline and all the characters.
Looking forward to the next story in the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review: Hot and Cold by Teghan Phillips

Thank you so much to NetGalley for the ARC read. I went into this one with pretty high hopes because a cute hockey romance with a fake marriage trope is usually right up my alley.

The story started off strong and immediately grabbed my attention. I was intrigued by the characters and the setup, and I really thought this one was going to be a hit for me. Unfortunately, as it went on, it started to lose steam. The pacing slowed, and I found myself feeling a bit bored in places, with some moments that should have felt exciting just not fully landing.

The fake marriage turning into something real was definitely sweet, and there were some cute moments between the characters, but overall nothing truly wowed me or made this one stand out. It wasn’t bad by any means, just fell a little short of my expectations.

If you love hockey romances and enjoy the fake relationship trope, this may still be worth checking out, but for me it was a middle-of-the-road.

Thank you NetGalley and the Publisher for the ARC.

Hot & Cold by Tegan Phillips caught my attention because I love sports romance and the chaotic, fun energy of a surprise Vegas marriage. Lyndsey and Aiden waking up married, then agreeing to stay that way for complicated personal reasons, made for an entertaining setup with good chemistry and snappy banter. I enjoyed the hockey backdrop, the forced-proximity tension, and the moments where their friendship started shifting into something deeper.

That said, the pacing felt uneven, and some emotional moments moved too quickly for the payoff I was hoping for. I also wished for more depth in both characters’ internal journeys and a slightly less predictable progression of romance beats.

Overall, it was enjoyable, easy to read, and had several cute, engaging moments — just not one that fully swept me away. I’d recommend it to readers who like light, trope-forward sports romance with a touch of drama and humor.

ARC provided via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Hot & Cold is a well written, an easy to read romance with a premise that hooked me right away!Tegan Phillips’ writing style is clean, engaging, and keeps the story moving at a good pace. I enjoyed the characters and the back-and-forth dynamic between them, and there were moments where their chemistry genuinely shone.

That said, the overall impact didn’t fully land for me. The emotional depth I was hoping for felt a little light, and while the story flowed nicely, I never found myself completely invested in the connection between the leads.

As for the spice, I’d give it 2 stars. It’s there, it’s tastefully done, and it fits the tone of the book, but it’s definitely on the gentler side.

Overall, a solid, well-written romance that just didn’t pack quite enough punch for my personal taste. Fans of lighter, character-driven romcoms will likely enjoy it more

⭐️ 2.5 stars. I love that the book is told through both of the main characters POVs. Since you’re able to get insight to what they’re thinking it makes the miscommunication issues that much more frustrating since they seem unrealistic. I didn’t like all of the comments about faith, church, and the stance they have against certain topics. I also didn’t expect the book to focus so much on her sexuality.

The FMC acts very juvenile and naive. It also aggravated me how she kept crying. She came across as emotionally constipated in the first half of the book and an anxious mess in the second half. The writing style also comes across as immature. However, if you’re looking for a short hockey romance, it’s enjoyable.

Tropes:
- Fake dating
- Friends to lovers
- He falls harder
- One bed

ARC Review!!
Thank you to NetGalley.

I did not read the first book but its not needed if you're going to read this. There are some characters where they're mentioned in the first book but I feel like this is a good standalone where one isn't that confused. Lyndsey has trauma regarding love and believes she's not worthy of it. Comes in Aiden who wants to date her but she keeps pushing him away. After a night in Vegas they find out they got married. Through some decisions both decide it's beneficial to remain marry for the time being to help Aiden get his things from his father's will and help Lyndsey's ex get the message she's no longer interested.
The overall story was cute, a super fast read. The only thing that messed it up for me was the person harassing Lyndsey. It comes out to be someone she knows but in context of that person being mentioned was kinda random. It didn't make sense to me.
2 stars.

This was ok, the chemistry between Lyndsay and Aiden was a bit hit and miss, but it got better towards the end.

The miscommunication was infuriating, Lyndsay’s ex warns Aiden off and he doesn’t think to question it, especially when Lyndsay and Aiden had been flirting; spending time together, heading towards something and he immediately takes Kayla’s word for it without question, doesn’t feel like something a grown man would do, especially when Kayla just walked off afterwards, wouldn’t a partner usually greet their girlfriend if they’ve arrived at their place of work to see them? Anyway - miscommunication isn’t my favourite trope so this may be an anomaly.

Thank you to NetGalley (and the publisher) for the ARC of Hot & Cold by Tegan Phillips.

The concept of the book was good, but the execution didn’t totally work for me. It’s a fake dating story, but I wish there had been more scenes of them actually pretending for other people. I also didn’t feel much chemistry between the main characters, and the miscommunication got a little tiring after a while.

The pacing was also a bit too fast, and I wish we had more time seeing their relationship grow before they kissed.

There were still some fun moments though, and overall it was an okay read, just not one that really clicked with me.

This is the second book in the series I believe and I have not read the first. So it felt like I was kind of thrown into the deep end in the beginning trying to play catch up to these characters.

Now I love a marriage of convenience and a whole drunken night in Vegas but the premise of everything felt a little discombobulated. And then the other parts of Lindsey’s family were kind of a mess for me too.

This was an okay read for me and I will probably try other books from this author.

The news of her marriage to the hockey player will make her ex stop trying to bothering her . But messages from an unknown number keep appearing in the phone and threating her . Will they have their happy end ?

Many thanks to Hera publishing, Author Tegan Phillips and NetGalley for the ARC of Hot and Cold in exchange for an honest review.

Second book in the series, first book for me and it didn't disappoint. You can definitely read as a standalone and appreciate the group dynamic without reading the first one. A love story with a background mystery kept me wondering what would happen next. I loved the plot, although I do feel the ending was rushed to wrap up, but with the epilogue it did help give a little more closure to the reader. Moderate spice and a great plot line, I would recommend to add to your TBR if you are a sport romance lover!

I love a vegas wedding!! And entering this book I was sure it was gonna be funny and the enemies to lovers trope was gonna hit. But this book was so much more! The family drama, the stalker/blackmailer and the “fake” marriage act and the death of a family member this story hits all the feels. It has a little bit of everything but beneath all that is a love that starts unconventional and on a drunken night in vegas but blooms through all the heartbreak and strength required by the characters during the story. How love can come and even thou lyndsey had her insecurities about being loved or enough, Aidan showed her true love and how family is who you choose .

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the digital ARC!

Unfortunately, I had to DNF this as the main female character annoyed me so much. She acted very childishly and privileged, and it really grated on me how she was interacting with pretty much everyone. I knew this book wasn't for me when she sniped at the MMC about making stupid decisions while drunk, despite the fact that she was ALSO drunk? Apparently, she's a paradigm of virtue or something?

There was also just no chemistry between the two, for me. He suddenly had anger issues out of nowhere, and I was left a little bewildered by how everyone was behaving.

hot and cold is a really cute “enemies to lovers” romance. it has a unique plot of getting drunkenly married in vegas and prolonging their divorce until they can get through each of their personal matters. it was a fun read, i unfortunately didn’t care for the writing style in the first half of the book which is the only downfall. i felt like there was quite a bit of over explaining or redundant information (i’m just nitpicking). other than that, i loved the characters and the story was really sweet.

This was my first book by Tegan Phillips, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. The storyline felt realistic and emotionally grounded, which made it really easy to connect to the characters.

The emotional buildup was beautiful — lots of brooding, pining, and quiet intensity that made the payoff feel earned. If you’re in the mood for a MMC who is deeply in his feelings and absolutely gone for his woman, this book delivers.

A strong, emotional read and an author I’ll definitely check out again.

This was an easy, light read with a sweet premise, and I liked the dual POV format. However, the overlapping timelines made things a bit hard to follow, and the writing didn’t always flow smoothly. I also felt a lack of chemistry between the main characters, and some plot points leaned toward overly dramatic or unrealistic. Enjoyable in parts, but overall it didn’t quite land for me. Appreciate the opportunity to read this ARC.

This is a friends to lovers with chaotic charm and slow burn heat. Lyndsey and Aiden are childhood friends that wake up married in Las Vegas after one to many drinks. She demands an annulment while he is hesitant about calling it quits so fast. With the supporting cast of Lyndsey’s best friend and Aiden’s teammates are perfect sides. Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me to read and review my thoughts.
