A HOSTILE STATE an action-packed, high-octane thriller

Rate this book
The combination of pulse-pounding suspense, delicious twists, and daring heroes, makes for a highly satisfying read.’ Booklist

They thought they could take him out. Now he's coming for them. It’s all guns blazing and no rules.

Marc Portman — codename Watchman — is deep in Lebanon on what’s meant to be a simple meet-and-collect assignment.

But when a sniper opens fire and a kill team closes in, Portman realises someone has betrayed him.

Trapped in the remote Beqaa Valley with no backup and the CIA silent, Portman is forced off the grid.

This was no random ambush. His mission has been compromised, his identity leaked — and Portman suspects the Russians are all over it.

Outnumbered, outgunned, and left for dead, he’s forced to go on the offensive. Because in a game with no rules, there’s only one way out . . . and it’s through a hail of bullets.

Packed with non-stop action, political intrigue, and razor-sharp suspense. A Hostile State is perfect for fans of Lee Child, Vince Flynn, Mark Dawson, Brad Thor and Dan Latus.

MEET THE MERCENARY
A mercenary by trade, he’s the kind of professional who operates in the shadows doing what others can’t (or won’t). He provides protection in hostile situations, working in the background and making sure to stay off the record. Often the people he's guarding have no idea he's there. He’s got his checking his weapon before every job, always travelling with a backup plan, and a backup plan for that backup plan.

Always ten steps ahead, no one knows his real name. His friends — not that he has many — call him Portman.

This was a really enjoyable ride! The people responsible for the leaks were pretty obvious (at least to those of us reading) so that was no surprise. Although it looks like this could be the end of the road for The Watchman, I really hope not. Though as his cover has been blown, I'm not sure what he can do. If this to be the end of the road, I can only say that these books have been excellent reading.
