A paranormal vampire romance from NYT and USA Today bestseller Marie Harte
Draugr vampire Rolf of the Night Bloode has watched his fellow kin mate and fall inlurrrve. He finds them all so amusing. At the same time, their patron goddess keeps stressing about the great "Darkness that Comes." Rolf knows she's not wrong. The time is near, when everything might very well end.
Unfortunately, to find the last piece of a weapon they're hoping to wield, he's sent on a quest to find it with a partner—the most annoying, heartless, dangerous female he's ever met. She keeps trying to kill him.
And wow, is that hot.
Valkyrie Sylvara has just about had it with Loki. Because of an old familial debt, she's forced to work for him. Which means working with a weird vampire. They're all strange, sure, but Rolf of the Night Bloode is the only blond vampire in existence. And there's something about him that feels less vampire and more Norse...something.
But at least they'll be facing danger, which she loves. Going after the serpent that eats the world in order to find a Bloode Stone capable of controlling the entire vampire nation sounds like fun. Of course, that's if other gods, vengeful demons, bitchy Valkyries, and Loki don't drive her insane. To say nothing of the possessive vampire thinking he's somehow mating with her.
As if.
Except...he's handsome. Funny. Powerful. Smart. And hiding a hell of a lot under a glamour that might promise eternal pleasure.
If the Darkness that Comes doesn't spin the world into chaos and destroy everything, that is.

Between Blood and Gods: The Night Blood (Between the Shadows Book 6) absolutely blew me away. As the final book in the series, it delivers the perfect, satisfying conclusion and wraps up the story in a way that left me completely thrilled.
Draugr vampire Rolf of the Night Blood keeps hearing their patron goddess warning that the great “Darkness that Comes” is near and everything could end. To stop it, he’s sent on a quest to retrieve the final piece of a powerful weapon—the last Bloode Stone. The problem? He has to work with the most dangerous and infuriating partner imaginable: the valkyrie Sylvara Valfreyja… who seems perfectly willing to kill him if he gives her the slightest excuse.
As Rolf and Sylvara search for the final stone—one capable of controlling the entire vampire nation—they face relentless danger from gods, demons, and rival valkyries. Nothing about their mission is simple, and the tension between them makes it even better. Rolf’s convinced fate has other plans and that Sylvara may be his mate, even if she refuses to admit the pull between them.
Sylvara is fierce, fearless, and impossible not to admire, while Rolf is everything you want in a hero—handsome, powerful, clever, and surprisingly funny. Their banter and chemistry made every scene crackle with energy.
If you love snarky vampires, a bold and battle-ready valkyrie, and epic paranormal stakes, this book is for you. I could not put it down. I’ve been on pins and needles waiting for this finale, and it exceeded every expectation. What an incredible ending to a fantastic series. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rolf - funny, handsome, smart alec, powerful - at least in his opinion. Sylvana is deadly, dangerous, wields a war-hammer and threatens to kill him every chance she gets. And he thinks that is the hottest aphrodisiac of all. But when the gods play games, immortals are but pawns in the larger tapestry of destiny. This is the final entry in the Night Bloode series and while it is written as a stand-alone, all of the main characters from the previous stories are present and play a part in the ultimate conclusion. Prior reading is recommended but not absolutely necessary. 4.5 stars
This is a really great book full of adventure, snarky characters, and a lot of lore. I looked forward to this book and it did not disappoint. A great finish to this series. I can’t wait to see what’s next in the between the shadows world.
