Unveil is Book 1 of the Frayed Satin Series, a Tattered Curtain second-generation legacy series of interconnected standalones reimagining classic ballets with dark and twisty HEAs. Each series can be enjoyed separately. TWs will be available in the front of the book.
Greer Rivers lives by the mountains with her real-life book husband and their three furbabies. Obsessed with history and folklore, she’s also a sucker for reality TV and proudly owns her titles as a messy eater, shirt ruiner, and steadfast non-sharer of food and wine. She adores romance, especially the dark and twisty kind, and her main goal as an author is to create a safe place for readers to feel too much.
I was so excited to read this book. When I read the words: a dark swan lake retelling, I was like this one screams my name. But unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I did enjoy it, hence the three stars, but it didn't steal my heart. And I'll probably never read it again. But this is probably totally a me thing and not necessarily a book thing.
The book focuses heavily on a feud and pact between the Troisgarde and Fury families. The women of the Troisgarde family need to marry the men in the Fury family on their 22nd birthday.
Luna is a talented ballerina and after a groundbreaking performance her boyfriend Zy asks her to marry him. But Orion who has been lurking in the background for years has been watching his future wife and his anger instantly ignites and he decides to kidnap his wife and keep her all to himself.
It catapults the story forwards and Luna is resisting Orion at every turn. But the more she resists the harder she falls for him. And Orion is nothing short of obsessed with his wife. He loves chasing her and together they find comfort in pain and pleasure. And before they even know it their hearts explode open and they let each other in.
But it's not just them. Something lurks in the background. And danger is coming after them fast.
While I overall love the story, and I did enjoy reading it, it continuously felt that the characters were out of my reach. And I was constantly chasing them, hoping to connect with them and truly understand them. But I never caught up to them and didn't really get to know them firsthand. And that felt like such a shame. I really missed that depth and connection.
The scenes with multiple characters or multiple family members felt so chaotic to me. I had a hard time discerning who was who and I couldn't really absorb what happened in those scenes. So many names were dropped that I mixed them up a lot. And due to my lack of connection with the two main characters, these secondary characters felt miles and miles away.
Not all events felt realistic and some scenes felt so far-fetched that I had a hard time picturing those in my mind.
One of my favorite parts was the mental health representation in this book. Mainly focussed on Luna's bipolar disorder. I like how Orion dealt with it, but I also loved how caring her family was, and how much in tune Luna herself is with her disorder. That was by far my favorite part and I really admired Luna for her strength and perseverance.
I just hate that I couldn't fully connect with this book. I really wanted to love it so much, but it just didn't tether itself to me. Maybe I need to venture out of this genre for a while and focus on something else. If I ever gonna reread, I will come back to this review and adjust it accordingly if it needs to be changed.
✨For the theatre kids, and those who once fell in love with tragic endings but are finally ready for their HEA. This is my dedication, but trust that Greer has a cooler one
🎭A Swan Lake Retelling with Mafia Madness Here the villain is a mafia King kidnapping his mafia princess, and together they bring a story laced with obsession, blood, and some of the best mental health rep I’ve seen in dark romance.
🌹Where to Start If you’ve got a soft spot for classic plays retold, start with The Tattered Curtains series, where you’ll meet Sol and Scarlett (Phantom of the Opera retelling) — the parents of Luna, our FMC here in Swan Lake. Do you need to? No. But the prologue in this book had me feral and giggling at the MMCs and FMCs of the Tattered Curtains series cameos. And honestly? The callbacks make Sol-Orion’s struggle, Scarlett-Luna’s relationship, and the whole generational thread so much richer. That said, this series (Frayed Satin) looks like one you’ll definitely want to read in order.
🔥Will You Be Feral? Yes. Yes, you will. Especially if you like: • captor x captive + stalking 👀 • blood play 🩸 • claiming & marking 🫦 • rough smut 🥵 • “touch her and d!e” vibes 🔪 • forced proximity + one bed 🛏️ And here’s the kicker: none of these tropes feel forced in. They flow naturally from the characters, who are messy, magnetic, unique, and fully alive.
🦢Swan Lake with Appalachian Vibes Luna may wear the ballerina costume of Swan Lake, but symbolically, the cursed Black Swan is Orion (our black knight), while the White Swan is Ozias (our white knight???). Luna herself transitions and evolves from her “white” persona to her darker, messier “black” one, and the duality is chef’s kiss. Greer weaves in these transitions with both symbolism and action, setting the story against an Appalachian gothic backdrop that blends horror, thriller, and swoony dark romance.
🎶Playlist Check Not convinced yet? Go listen to the book’s playlist. It’s been living rent-free in my head for a week straight.
💜Mental Health Note Greer always leaves me in awe with the way she shares pieces of her own mental health. With Luna’s bipolar disorder, she gives us an awe-inspiring, tear-jerking perspective. Every note about mental health hit me right in the chest.
📖Huge thank you to Valentine PR and Greer Rivers for trusting me with this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts. I’m officially obsessed.
-- Pre-read: 🩰Swan Lake Retelling x Mafia 🎭Captive v Captor + Masked stalker done by Greer Rivers? Say less.
Troisgarde daughter, Luna Bordeaux, finds herself at the center of the Troisgarde-Fury pact, a drunken arrangement her father never believed they’d be bound to.
With so much blood shed as a result of the decades-long Wilde and Fury feud, Orion Fury is set to claim his bride and solidify the alliance the marriage will effectuate.
Greer did an exceptional job at painting the backdrop for this new series. The Appalachian ambiance, set amid the hills and hollers, the backwoods drawls, and the Hatfield McCoy-esque drama was unique and engaging. I absolutely loved how obsessed Orion was with Luna and the way he knew her so well. I’d have loved a little more steam, but I’m a whooore that way… I’m looking forward to seeing who’s up next: Lucy or Brylie!

An awesome beginning to Greer Rivers’ Frayed Satin, a spin-off from her fabulous Tattered Curtain series focusing on the children from all three books! I absolutely adored this dark retelling of The Dark Swan.
Luna Bordeaux, daughter of the Phantom of New Orleans, and Orion Fury have an intense, unforgettable story. Orion has stalked and protected Luna for years, determined to claim his soulmate and future wife—especially after the Wilde’s, his family’s long-standing enemies, killed the Fury queen, his mother, years ago.
With forced proximity, an ever-growing attraction, and danger closing in, their connection turns into something raw and primal. As their pasts and dark secrets come to light, they must fight to survive—and to embrace a forbidden love that could change everything, tied to a bargain made long ago by Troisgarde.
This book has everything: passion, heat, angst, suspense, and nonstop action. The pacing is fast, the scenes memorable, and I found myself laughing, crying, and rooting for this couple from page one!
Greer Rivers is a phenomenal storyteller. She handles subjects like grief and mental illness—especially Luna’s struggle with bipolar disorder—with grace and insight, giving readers a deep, emotional understanding of what it means to live and thrive with such challenges.
I truly loved both Orion and Luna, and I can’t wait for the next book in the series, Dishearten—Lucy and Hatch’s story, coming in early 2026!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Another dark, addictive masterpiece from Greer Rivers! -Katsbookcornerreads ❤️💋😉
Hmmm, I really liked the premise, but for some reason, the writing style and storytelling just didn't click with me. This is a second-generation series, and I have only read one book from the first generation, which I did not even like. So the info dump at the start of this book really pulled me out of the story. I felt really overwhelmed by all the characters, groups, and organizations. There were just too many to keep track of! 😐I even considered quitting at that point. Idk, it's probably a me issue, but I would rather just quit than stay just to keep up with a bajillion characters. Especially if those characters came from a different series that I hadn't read before and their introduction in a new series isn’t seamless and ends up being confusing.
I kept going, though, because I'm a sucker for dual V books, and also because I was hoping it'd become better, and in some ways, it actually did.
Luna was arranged to marry Orion when she was only 12, but her dad wasn't on board with that plan. I think the pact was made during a gambling event, but I can't remember anymore. Anyway, Luna's father didn't want to honor that because he would rather not make her do something she never wanted in the first place. But Orion has made up his mind since that day that she would be his wife. So when she turned 22, the age at which they were supposed to marry, he finally decided to kidnap her since it was clear they weren't going to stick to the agreement.
This wasn't exactly insta-love, but at the same time things happened so quickly between the MCs.
Orion kidnapped Luna and wants to bring her to his territory. But it wasn't an easy escape plan, and some disastrous things happened along the way. They ended up stranded for a week (or more??) and that was when things progressed between them.
Like I said, it wasn't insta-love because they've been aware of the pact since they were kids. Orion has been stalking/protecting her since she was 18, and nobody knows about that. Luna, on the other hand, didn't particularly care about the agreement, because she believes her dad would protect her at all costs. But probably because of the forced proximity and mutual attraction, for some reason Luna eventually realized she wanted him too. I think it also helped when she found out that he was the masked stranger she had a hot make-out session with on her 21st birthday.
The relationship development went from 0 to 100, but this still falls into a slow-burn-ish category, I think. Also, despite being marketed as an arranged marriage, there wasn't actually a wedding in the story. Yet the MCs kept calling each other husband and wife, which was a bit weird to me, but to each their own.
Anyway, there was an overarching plot, but the story for the MCs wraps up here. Overall, it was still okay, I guess. I'm just not really a fan of the storytelling. But while it didn't work for me, I can see how it might appeal to other readers. I'm still curious about the next two couples. If the two younger brothers are anything like Orion, I assume they've also been waiting for their wives. Which is a rare thing in organized crime romance books, but it's definitely a win for me! 🤭
Book info: - Mental health rep (Bipolar disorder) - Arranged marriage - Kidnapping - Stalking - Violence, death - Loss of loved one (off and on page) - Forced proximity - Dual V! 💖 - No cheating, OW, separation - Minor OM (she had a bf at the start of the book, he's in love with someone else tho) - HFN and bonus ep (engaged)
Unveil is a dark retelling of Swan Lake and the first book in this series. Rivers did an amazing job at grabbing my attention from the beginning and keeping me engaged throughout the whole story. When I went into this story, I did not realize that the FMC, Luna, was the child of the two main characters from River's book "Phantom". However, I absolutely loved this little surprise because I really enjoyed Phantom and loved the little cameos in this book. You do not necessarily have to read Phantom before reading Unveil.
This story follows a pact that was made between two feuding families: Troisgarde and Fury families. The pact was that the women of the Troisgarde family would marry the men of the Fury family. In come our two main characters: Luna Troisgarde and Orion Fury. Luna is a stunning ballerina that Orion has been waiting for and watching in the background. Finally, when he can't resist any longer, he kidnaps Luna and is determined to have her all to himself. However, a rival has their eyes on Luna.

Thank you to Hambright PR and Greer Rivers for giving me access to an arc in exchange for an honest review.
if you know anything about me it’s that i absolutely fucking love greer rivers, this book world, and every single character 🥹 so when i heard that the tattered curtain series was getting a second generation … oh i simply fainted 😭 thank you so much greer for giving me this opportunity to arc read this 🖤 there’s simply not enough words to describe how much i loved every second of this !!
this is a dark “swan lake” reimagining romance, second generation and legacy sequel to “phantom”, arranged marriage, insta lust, ballerina fmc + protector mmc, stalker, “my wife”, forced proximity, toxic family dynamics, blood play, trauma, mental health representation, kidnapping, duo pov, interconnected standalone, hea 🩰
on a drunken poker night bet, the treaty made between the top three families and other surrounding groups is in full force. the agreement states that the troisgarde daughters are to be arranged to marry three of the fury brothers. luna is the daughter of the phantom of the french quarter, one of the most ruthless leaders of the criminal underworld. she has a legacy to uphold. being a ballerina at such a prestigious school, luna works herself to the ground to always put on the best shows. she’s not only loved by the audience but also by her shadow who’s completely obsessed with her 🤭 from the moment orion found out that luna was to be his wife, he did everything and anything he could to learn all about her, while keeping his distance. he was never far and never had her out of his sight. even though he promised he wouldn’t make his move until luna’s birthday, he couldn’t help but chase her for just a taste. orion is loyalty to a T. he knew his heart and mind belonged to only one person at such a young age. he knew what his job was and that’s to protect his family … his wife. but when a rival has their eyes on his little bird 👀 all hell breaks loose, promises are broken, secrets gets revealed, and a history repeats itself.
SOMEONE HOLD ME WHILE I CLOSE THIS BOOK 😭 FUCK I MISS THIS ALREADY
the moment little luna and orion popped up, i already knew i was going to fall to my damn knees for them 🧎🏻♀️ luna is such a reckless and carefree girl. orion is the all seriousness but goofy protector. they balance each other out so well. the way he knows every small detail, down to the way she sleeps … i’m down bad 😩 the chemistry they share is absolutely through the damn roof !! i can’t even imagine the things going on throughout orion’s head when he locked the fuck in at such a young age finding out about his future wife. he didn’t even question or hesitate. mans literally found out he’s in an arranged marriage and he did everything he could to protect her. luna’s growth both personally and with her relationship with orion was something so beautiful 🥹
these characters deserve everything and anything !! fuck i love them so much 🫀 i can’t wait for the next book in this series 🤩 it makes me miss the tattered curtain series so fucking much omg
if you haven’t read the tattered curtain series before this, i highly recommend it !! that series are the parents of the children in this frayed satin series 🙌🏼 but you do not need to read it first if you don’t want to find out what happens with their parents. this series has a completely different plot that the parents !! each book in the frayed satin series will have different couples that ends in their hea, but the plot continues 💌
no one writes gothic retellings with a side of mafia and mental illness like greer river does; first with her reimaginings of classic tragic plays and now classic ballets, from gothic to southern gothic. this was, hands down bar none, the best second-generation legacy book i’ve ever read. it not only paid homage to the first series, but forged its own path. the parallels in “unveil” that mirrored “phantom” were masterfully crafted to perfection. how mother and daughter shared the same affliction and an affection for their scarred, stoic stalkers. but where one found peace within herself in the spotlight, the other flew from it to seek her freedom. luna lived in the shadow of her momma, only to end up in the mountains where her family was from with the man who saw her for who she was, not the (pointe) shoes everyone else expected her to fill in – poetic literature. and to have daddy phantom be the one to save fury, who was for her little girl what he’d been all those years ago to his muse, i could cry all over again just remembering it. unmatched. once again, much like with new orleans as a setting, the appalachian woods felt like a character in itself. the eerie ambiance was so vivid and immersive, with its folklore and imagery, that it heightened the tension to a delicious degree.
* i was sent an arc by the author in exchange for a honest review
I've never read anything by Greer Rivers before, and honestly... I don't think I've ever read a Swan Lake retelling either, but needless to say, I ended up really loving this one. It gave me such strong Princess Tutu vibes (please tell me someone else knows what I am talking about). And for those who are looking for confirmation has a HEA, it in fact does.
This book was such a fun read, but what stuck with me the most was how it highlighted the importance of mental health. The author shows how quickly things can spiral if it goes unnoticed or even hidden. Not only that, but how tough it can be when the resources you need aren't there. Unveil is a dual POV between the characters Orion Fury and Luna. Luna is a ballerina who has been protected for years by Orion, but hasn't been aware. He wants her, and she will be his, even if he has to steal her to claim her as his bride.
Tropes & Themes: - Arranged Marriage - Touch her and die - Stolen Bride - Dark Swan Lake retelling - Villain gets the girl
I would also like to make a public service announcement that I hope to become a stolen bride by a man who is absolutely obsessed with me.
Thank you to VPR and Greer Rivers for the opportunity to read and review this arc! I can’t wait to read the next book ✨
I will always be a sucker for an absolutely obsessed MMC. Make it a southern gothic romance and consider me wooed.
I really loved that we got sexy and fun, but also serious mental health substance as well. This was full of action and loved the dark romance elements.
Thank you so much to Hambright PR for the physical ARC! I had a lot of fun reading this and am dying to read about Lucy and Brylie
I had the absolute pleasure of being able to read this and let me tell you… IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!
I am in so much love with this book, series, these characters, their families….literally EVERYTHING!
I can not express how much angst, mystery, sadness, devastation, hope and love I felt from this book. This is only book one and Greer Rivers has done a phenomenal job of setting up storylines for the next one with literally giving nothing away.
I need my very own Fury! I can be a stolen bride any day that ends in y 🥵
ARC REVIEW ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ “Fly away little bird. I crave the hunt.”
Such a great read! The story was so engaging that I forgot it was a loose reimagining of Swan Lake; the characters and plot held their own outside the inspiration.
It’s no secret that I’m obsessed with fiercely protective, all-in-from-the-start MMCs. Orion was one of the best, watching from the shadows, protecting Luna from afar until it was time to wife her. What's wrong with a little kidnapping and forced marriage?
I love enemies-to-lovers where only one of the parties actually believes they are enemies. Luna was determined to hate Orion forever, but he knew her better than she knew herself and cracked through her walls.
Shout out to the mental health rep. Greer opened her soul to give us Luna and her bipolar diagnosis. We were given two perspectives: Luna's as she navigated the ups and downs, and Orion's as he watched her spiral and learned how to support her.
This is a medium-burn MF romance that goes from unsatisfied urges to super spicy. Primal chase scenes, blood play, rough sex... My favorite part was that BOTH the MMC and FMC were virgins. That Orion knew Luna was his for years and wasn't even tempted to stray. That's true love that I can get behind 100%.
Book one in an interconnected series, Orion and Luna's story ends in a HEA. The Fury brothers have me in a chokehold, and I cannot wait to read the rest of their stories.
I just, I can’t, aaahhhh I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I laughed, I cried, I blushed, I had all the feels. For me, I always love second gen stories because I already have a connection with the first gen(Phantom) so all the feels from that just spilled over into Unveiled. This book was so well executed. I was really nervous with how Greer Rivers would execute the whole “pact” plot line but damned if she didn’t pull it off. Everything about Unveiled was just beautiful, especially Orion’s care and acceptance of every part of Luna. I can’t wait for the other daughter’s books because LAWD those teasers at the end were juicy.
GREER RIVERS!!!!!!! If you could hear me screaming as I am writing this review you would understand that I am UNWELL after reading this!! Seriously...if you know me, you know I love Greer Rivers...even more than that I have been obsessed with the Tattered Curtains series...so finding out that this was a second gen series of our favorite characters kids??? DECEASED!!!! Add in that it is BALLERINA and MAFIA?!?!?!?! Mam...PLEASE! 😩😩😩 Too many of my favorite things all in one book...I cannot cope!! This book was everything I wanted an more...exceeded my expectations and is DEFINITELY at the top of my list for favorite reads of the year!💖
Now...while this is the second gen of the TC series, you don't have to read anything to understand it....but one...the TC series is AMAZING...secondly...it gives you a better understanding of where these current characters come from and how they came to be how they are.
This book deals with the drunken card game that lead to rival families marrying their daughters off to their rivals sons at the age of 22. Luna is our reckless and carefree ballerina FMC...she is so much like her parents and that made my heart swell and break at the same time...watching her struggle with her bipolar...she is arranged to marry Orion...our possessive stalker MMC...yup...you read that right...deliciously dark and tattooed stalker in all the ways you want your stalker to be.
Orion has been obsessed with Luna since the day he found out who she was and that she was going to be his wife. He has learned everything about her...all her intricacies...her mental health...the way she sleeps...her favorite foods...he wants her for her and wants to make sure she has everything she needs and wants in life. So when her boyfriend tries to swoop in and propose to her, Orion does the only thing he can do...kidnap her🤭🤭🤭
As you can tell, this didn't go over well with Luna and she is NOT HAPPY about any of it...she fights him tooth and nail...but as they get to know each other and work through things, Luna begins to see who Orion really is...and they both start to let their walls down and develop true feelings for each other. The passion and tension between these two is PALPABLE...it had me screeching in the middle of the night biting my nails...I loved it 😍😍😍
But things aren't all good...there is danger lurking in the shadows that neither of them expected...hunting them and threatening to hurt Luna...something Orion will NEVER stand for...the definition of him burning the world down for her...on top of that, we see the struggle Luna faces being off her medication...and that was heartbreaking. But I loved how Orion took care of her...helped her through her highs and lows and did everything he could do to make sure she got better.
Greer is a PHENOMENAL writer...the way she handles these retellings has me in a chokehold...the way she tackles the sensitivity of mental health is beautiful...you can tell she takes her time and is really careful with how she represents it which I appreciate so much.
I do not want to give too much of this book away because you truly need to experience it for yourself...and when you do you will be read for a re-read immediately and itching for the next book like I am!💖
Thank you SO MUCH to Greer Rivers for the AMAZING opportunity to ARC read this INCREDIBLE book!! I truly feel so lucky to have been able to read this early! Thank you so much!💖

⚜ “You may think this pact is a curse. But you’re my salvation.”🐦⬛
Orion was, without a doubt, the standout part of this book for me. I loved how completely and unapologetically obsessed he was with Luna, and yet, despite that intensity, her safety always came first, even when she herself was the biggest obstacle. That balance between devotion and restraint made his character especially compelling and easy to root for.
🐦⬛ “You…you want to dance with me?” ⚜
⚜ “I’ll always want to dance with you, little bird.” 🐦⬛
That said, the book was a bit verbose and I did struggle at times to fully connect with both Luna and Orion, which made certain aspects of the story a bit harder to sink into emotionally. They were solid characters overall, but I think some additional backstory for both of them would have added much-needed depth and helped strengthen that connection. In particular, I found myself wishing there had been more exploration of Orion’s passion and obsession beyond the pact, or at least more showing of how and why those feelings took such deep root.
🐦⬛ “At this point…after watching Luna Bordeaux as long as I have, I’ll do anything to make her mine, even if she hates me for it.” ⚜
My feelings about Luna were also a bit mixed. I really admired her strength and feistiness, but at times she came across as frustratingly spoiled, especially in the way she seemed to turn her nose up at Orion whenever she had the chance. That push-and-pull sometimes diminished my enjoyment of their dynamic, even though I could see what the author was aiming for.
⚜ “Say it for me, baby. Say you’re mine.” 🐦⬛
🐦⬛ “Orion, I’m…I’m your…I’m your worst f*cking nightmare.” ⚜
One element I genuinely appreciated was the thoughtful and detailed representation of Type II Bipolar Disorder. While I’m not deeply familiar with the condition, the portrayal felt careful, authentic, and well-researched, which I really respected. I also didn’t have any trouble following the story despite not having read the first-generation books, and the side characters were intriguing enough that I’m confident their future stories will be worth picking up.

I DEVOURED this story. Orion’s complete and utter devotion for Luna? Unhinged and I loved every second of it. Him kidnapping her, and holding her in a cabin in the woods? Obsessed. If it’s wrong- I don’t want to be right!
Highly recommend this book for any darker romance lovers- this is a start to a second gen series (I haven’t read all of the first books yet -Greer’s backlog essentially- but will be IMMEDIATELY). There are a lot of characters at first in the story, and I think this would have helped me to know them better right off the bat.
However, this didn’t make it hard for me to read or understand the family dynamics- just would have made it that much better for myself- I think!! But gives me more books to now look forward to 😉
While it ends in a HEA, it also gives us hints into the next book and I CANT WAIT!!
HIGHLY recommend for any romance to darker romance lovers!
“But, you know, now that I’m thinking it over, it seems awful reckless of you to fall in love with your stalker, little bird.” “Then be reckless with me, Orion Fury.” ❤️🔥
I loved the dark ballet romance trope, it’s one of my favourite now! I can’t wait for the series to continue, I’m intrigued by the other two main female characters 🩰
I enjoyed a lot Luna and Orion’s relationship! Oh, I can’t even describe how perfect Orion is. Some scenes were pretty intense (but in a good way)! 🫣
I love Phantom by Greer Rivers and this was the perfect sequel with Scarlet and Sol’s daughter! Definitely darker than the first but this was dark romance done well. Loved the chemistry between Orion and Luna ❤️🔥
Unveil, the first book in Greer Rivers’ Frayed Satin series, is a dark and seductive retelling of Swan Lake that plunges readers into a world of secret pacts, feuding families, and primal obsession. Set in the atmospheric backdrop of New Orleans and the Appalachian Mountains, the story follows rebellious ballerina Luna Bordeaux, who is desperate to escape the shadow of her parents and the expectations that follow.
The story begins a number of years in the past where Luna's parents are arguing over a drunken pact that they believe shouldn’t be called upon. Luna's brother Vows he'll protect her and won't let anything happen to her. Fast forward to their final dance before they finish college and start their lives. Luna is also about to celebrate her birthday.
I Loved the closeness Luna had with her brother and her cousins. I love that she's a talented dancer but has no desire to pursue it as a career. Her outlook on this made sense and I could understand why she felt that way. The book explores themes of acceptance, honour and loyalty.
Luna's plans for freedom are thwarted when her boyfriend proposes on stage. Enter Orion Fury. Protecting her from the shadows for years, bound by a secret pact that was made between their fathers and biding his time until he can claim his bride. Orions plans are also altered with the proposal, which results in him making his presence known earlier than expected and this sets off a chain of events that result in a fight for survival, not to mention kidnapping and murder.
The story focuses on the unconventional and distorted relationship between Luna and Orion Fury. Their chemistry was palpable and electric, and the tension is heightened by the back and forth banter and how feisty Luna was, yet Orion just smirked and accepted her for who she was.
Orion was a strong, determined character who knew how to be soft when he needed. He was the perfect balance of obsessive alpha and soft and caring. He is fiercely loyal and I loved how open and accepting of what Luna was going through and what he needed to do to help her. He was incredibly patient and understanding with Luna when she has her episodes. That first time he tried to understand what was happening and did what she needed was so sweet.
The plot was fast-paced and persistent with plenty of action that keeps you on the edge of your seat and Greer masterfully creates a fabulous slow burn that is full of heat and the anticipation keeps the reader on edge. Her writing style is addictive and her ability to create a narrative that is descriptive and easy to read is brilliant. She excels at creating this suspenseful atmosphere, blending ballet’s elegance with the powerful allure you get from the mafia and family saga elements.
I loved that Luna really starts to let go of certain insecurities and her character growth was amazing. Her awareness of her illness was really well written and her character was relatable. Orion allowed her to be herself and didn’t diminish her light.
Some highlights for me were the well-developed, complex characters and how well tropes such as enemies-to-lovers, arranged marriage, masked stalker and touch her and die vibes were used.
Overall, this was a wonderfully written story, full of suspense and drama and is a must-read for fans of dark romance, fairytale retellings, and stories where the villain just might be the hero. The reader is left with plenty of questions and the intrigue that surrounds the rest of the series is tantalizing.

Review: This was EVERYTHING I wanted and so so so much more. If you’ve been around for any bit of time you know that the Tattered Curtain series is one of my top all time favorite dark romance series and when Greer announced we were getting a second gen series I could not wait. This did such a great job of giving a nod to the first generation while completely separating itself and creating a new identity for the new generation. First off, I love Orion Fury. We’re just going to get that out of the way. He’s right up there with Kian for me and if you know me you know Kian is my favorite TC man. His devotion to Luna not just in protecting her, but making sure he gives her the opportunity for all the things that she craves in life is unmatched. I loved his Appalachian heritage and little nods to Appalachian culture in this book. As a girl from WV this touched deep in my soul and made me feel the comfort of home when I haven’t been able to go there in so long. Luna is the perfect blend of Sol and Scarlett. She’s ruthless but also reckless, and she loves so fiercely. I love how sassy she was with Orion, but also how tender and vulnerable she could be. Of course getting to see all my favorite little things in the beginning for all of us og TC fans made my heart so happy. I think Greer did a great job of bridging the gap to build out the underworld families to bring in the Fury and Wilde feud. Luna and Orion’s romance was so perfect too. All she had to do was meet him halfway because he was already all in, and once she stopped trying to force herself to hate him she was ready to jump off that cliff with him. Their buildup spice was so so good and the payoff was 🔥🔥🔥. I just cannot gush about this book enough. It has everything I’ve come to love about Greer’s book, and I really think she did something special. I cannot wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for us.

really enjoyed this book! It was a bit wordy at times and Luna was A LOT but she does have bipolar disorder and I am not super familiar with the disorder so i can’t comment much on it. I just felt like her bitchiness towards him lasted far too long bc Orion was EVERYTHING.
This story had me hooked from the prologue! As someone who loved the first generation, diving back into this world was a much anticipated delight for me. From start to finish, I was enthralled by Luna and Orion’s story. It was A-freakin-mazing. To say that it was one of my most anticipated reads of the year would be a vast understatement. I have been living for this new tale and it definitely did not disappoint.
The vibes in this book were incredible. Absolutely INCREDIBLE! The yearning alone from the MMC was enough to rate it up there on my “Will Own All Available Formats” list. Orion Fury was a dark romance dream. Then, the gothic meets Appalachia vibes mixed together with the Swan Lake retelling; SO FKING GOOD! Pair that with Greer Rivers phenomenal ability to drag you into her worlds so completely, and I couldn’t put this book down.
The storyline was complex, the characters were friggin fantastic and the slow burning build up to the spice was delicious. When it finally ignited, it was all consuming. The end came far too soon for my liking and that’s literally the only bad thing I have to say about it. I cannot wait to see how the rest of this series unfolds.
A huge THANK YOU to Greer Rivers for allowing me to be a part of the ARC team for Unveiled.
Absolutely in love with Orin Fury! This man will do anything for his wife even watch her in the shadows till she turns of age to be officially wife.
She’s the daughter of the phantom of New Orleans. Part of this powerful family where her father makes a drunken pact that she will belong to the Fury’s to stop a fued. Just her father no longer wants to acknowledge the pact. That’s where Orin steps in to take back what is his.
She will and always has been his. His to claim and he is hers to claim. He is the sweetest to her especially when she has an episode with her mental disorder. Orin fury is the next best book boyfriend ever!
OMGGGG this was fantastic!!!! Normally I don’t like second gen but this one was sooo good! The writing and storytelling were amazing! I loved how the plot was them together but not together if that makes sense. Most of the book is spent of them with each other and her discovering so much about him and the love he’s always had for her when everyone else was oblivious. He wanted and needed to protect her and she learns how to feel. This is captor x captive so there’s a lot of angst and heat, their tension is next level!!! There is mental health rep and lots of emotional moments and surprises in this book along with depth of the characters so I can’t wait to see where the next book takes us!
It's a retelling of Swan Lake with mafia. I am such a sucker for retellings, and I loved the last series she did of retellings on plays. This one didn't disappoint. I am excited to see what else she delivers for this standalone series!
To say I loved this book would be an understatement. When I first saw the blurb, I could not wait to get my hands on it. Greer Rivers did not disappoint.
The chemistry our main characters had was just so good. And the way Orion not only watched Luna due to just a vow, he really cared for her. His love & acceptance of who she is. His possessiveness over her. It was just all written so perfectly. The nod to the Phantom book & the snippets of what’s to come were just the icing on the cake. I seriously could not get enough of this book. Waiting patiently for the next two.
