Did I just read a vampire holiday book? Yes, I did. If you are looking for a short novella, age-gap, forced proximity, dad’s best friend, and a paranormal romance then this book is for you. I really enjoyed the tension between Landon and Harlow.

This story is all forbidden feels, with a dash of angst, but overall has a cozy vibe. It features one of my favorite vampire tropes, pleasurable bites, which is always so fun for a situation where two characters think they can’t be together. In mean, he is her father’s best friend after all (hubba hubba).
There’s some fun vampire lore and world building that I enjoyed!!
If you’ve always wanted a vampire mate of your own, or simply enjoy reading fast paced romance with guaranteed heat and a HEA, you simply cannot go wrong with this one!!

Okay listen… this was fine. Not life-changing, not terrible — just a cute, spicy little novella to kick off the holiday chaos. Perfect for when you want something festive without committing your whole soul.
The vibes?
Forced proximity, a cabin in a blizzard, holiday atmosphere, and a dangerously attractive older family-friend who also happens to… need blood. Yeah. Christmas with a vampire. I respect the commitment.
But let’s talk about Harlowe for a second because girl. GIRL.
Half the time I was rooting for her, and the other half I was like:
“Baby, why are you making decisions like your brain battery is at 7%?”
She irritated me more than she charmed me, especially when the plot literally handed her a “maybe don’t do the obviously risky thing” sign and she still went “hehe okay but what if I do?”
Landon, on the other hand? Exactly the type of chaotic holiday menace I expect in a novella like this. Predator energy, but with that soft-when-he’s-not-supposed-to-be attitude. A decent mix of danger and cinnamon-scented vibes.
The story itself is quick, spicy, and predictable in a way that isn’t offensive, just familiar. It reads like a warm-up novella. A palate cleanser. A little bite of holiday spice before I drown myself in full-length books this December.
Overall?
Short. Seasonal. Enjoyable enough.
Not a new favourite, not something I’ll think about a week from now, but it did exactly what it needed to do.

To be honest I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It had some things that I really love. A grumpy, possessive monster snowed in with someone he has been attracted to for a while and that holds off on his attraction until that strong will suddenly breaks. Delicious.
It was only 100 pages so we don't really get to know much about the characters. It's mostly about the taboo and physical relationship between them. It was great for a weekend read if you're looking for low angst, low plot, spicy times in a snowed in cabin.
But there was one part that did give me pause. There were mentions throughout the book about the vampires sometimes having sex with their blood hosts. Now for humans they put them under some sort of hypnosis and then feed. But they can also feed from other monsters without using that hypnosis power. Harlowe (being a supernatural herself, enjoys having sex with vampires she let's feed from her). However, it didn't specify whether they only have sex with the monsters during/after the feed or if they also do it with the humans. Harlowe mentioned her group of friends and family coming back from feeding in the nearby town "smelling of blood and sex". And the question of consent is something that really bothers me.

Harlowe is at her parent's cabin for Christmas and arrives in a not-so-whole condition. She's a bit...bitten up by a vampire she was a host for. To add insult to the injury, when she arrives at the cabin hoping to clean up herself in peace...she finds her dad's best friend of 40 years there alone. While Harlowe is a Dhampire, a born vampire, Landon is a Turned. He takes care of her wounds as much as she'll let him before leaving to find a host to feed on.
Thus starts this novella with miscommunication, hurt feelings, mutual secretive pining, snowed in, and more. I was not feeling kind towards Landon and how he blundered things constantly with Harlowe, but I understand freaking yourself out about feelings and the like. I really loved this holiday vampire novella!! There's absolutely something for everyone in this short, spicy 🌶️🌶️ and sweet story. We've got age-gap, dad's best friend, fated mates, snowed-in, fuck-it moment and honestly so much more.
Not only did I love the spice and, but I was impressed with how much lore the author was able to build up in a little over 100pgs, without making it clunky or interrupting the flow. That made me read through this all the more quickly honestly. Plus I just didn't want to put it down 🤣
We had such a good balance of very nice spicy times 🌶️🌶️👀 and the emotional connection between Landon and Harlowe. This was my first holiday read of the season and I 100% recommend this to everyone, so happy to have received an ARC.

Ooh, the ol’ “I want you but you don’t want me probably so I guess I’ll just be over here then,” and “I want you desperately but I’ve decided you hate me so I’ll just be over in this corner.” Classic.
This novella is super duper cute. Harlowe and Landon are clearly meant to be. There’s so much angst and longing between them, and they cannot communicate to save their lives, but it’s fairly cozy and sweet.
There are little bits of vampire lore that Ive never seen before and I absolutely loved that Jillian Rink created this world.

Quick spicy vampire read!
I love vampires and was happy to find a Christmas book that had them! Christmas just happens to be the time of year this story is taking place, but it’s still a fun read for this time of year!
This is a spicy, quick read, that I really enjoyed! Rink created a fun paranormal world in just 100 pages and I would definitely read more from them.

Fated Mates? Vampires? Snowed In and Isolated? Age Gap? YES PLEASE! My plate is full and abundant with this read.
At first, I was iffy about Landon and Harlowe’s relationship considering he has known her parents since before she was born. BUT I enjoyed that it was specified that he didn’t really see her grow up and only reconnected after she was a graduate from university.
I just loved all the little tidbits in this and I was readily just gobbling it all up. It was a super quick read but, it’ll definitely be one I want to reread maybe later on

I loved this book! It was fun, spicy, and completely addictive. It's the kind of story that pulls you in fast and doesn’t let go. The chemistry was amazing, the characters were so easy to fall for, and it had that perfect balance of humor, heart, and heat. Jillian Rink absolutely delivered, and I couldn’t put it down! 🖤🔥

Sweet and spicy age gap, dad’s best friend holiday novella. Harlowe and Landon end up snowed in by themselves at Harlowe’s family’s cabin for a couple of days. They discover they’re fated to each other but aren’t quite prepared for that. Cute and fun vampire/dhampir love story.

This was a very quick, sweet read! It was a really cute age gap between our fmc and her father's best friend. I really like their relationship and I probably would have read about them for another hundred pages or so! I highly recommend reading it if you are looking for something short and sweet.

I enjoyed this novella so much. Harlowe is a Dhamphir with special powers. She went to her family's cabin for the holidays. There she sees her dad's best friend Landon.. I absolutely loved the way this story went!

I love anything with vampires and this was just so fun. Dad’s best friend is such a great taboo trope and it was great to see their friendship hold up after the fact. I’m intrigued by this world and will be keeping an eye out for more from this author.

I'll be honest, I skipped a lot of the parts going into too much detail about blood (I'm easily nauseated by that) but I loved this spicy, Dad's best friend romance! They get snowed in together and things get...bloody...but in the best vampire-way!

Harlowe and Landon’s physical relationship starts (kinda?) out of necessity. They respected each other (and Harlowe’s dad lmao) enough to keep their crushes to themselves until Landon is forced to feed from Harlowe and their feelings are brought to light.
