From best-selling author B.B. Reid comes a sizzling romance set in shadows and glamour.
Ocean Kilpatrick has starred in many wet dreams.
As for best friends Hunter Parrish and Coby Perry, he's become their worst nightmare.
When Coby is sold to the mafia prince to settle her brother’s debt, Ocean vows to take what he's owed and then some.
Obviously, he's never heard that trouble comes in two because Hunter has made a vow of her own—to rescue her twin flame or die trying. She’ll burn down Ocean’s world and dance on the ashes before letting him take what’s hers.
But Ocean isn't just the heir to the Fola. He's a master manipulator.
He's a master manipulator.
Every move the friends make, he's two steps ahead, and the game won't end until he says so.
Say So is a standalone romance compiled from the original serial and revised to be enjoyed as a full-length novel.

i pushed through 239 pages & had to throw in the towel.
cons: • inconsistent pacing & flow. one moment we're slow pace (which is appropriate for building connections between the mcs) and the next we're skipping whole days & weeks? why?
• we're told the characters attributes but not shown in a well-paced & fleshed out way. why is a mafia prince having his whole personal security crew taken out by one woman & her lil hacker friend? he needs to be demoted!
• the 4th wall breaks made me want to scream. they were unnecessary & did the complete opposite of the intended effect.
• insta-love & lust. it's 488 pages? there's time to build up to desire and want. realistically, they should've hated each other first (ocean & hunter) & coby should have distrusted the man who beat and left her brother for dead and literally purchased AND kidnapped her for a lot longer than 24-72 hours.
• where is the real connection between coby & hunter besides codependency? where is the foundation for the sapphic romance between them? even coby & ocean's connection was "love" overnight. they didn't know each other & the time for building that was skipped... in a time skip. in the first 100 pages of the book...
overall, this felt thrown together & improperly fleshed out.
Ocean is the embodiment of Future’s song “fucking two bad bitches at the same damn time” and bitch I’m jealous.
Loved how completely opposite Hunter and Coby were but it worked! And to be fair if I was Coby I would also be absolutely feral for Hunter because she’s just that bitch omg
Hunter, Ocean and Coby have my entire freaking heart.
This story is gripping, gritty and absolutely FILLED TO THE BRIM with intensity and passion. I could not get over enough. I was hooked from the beginning.
Hunter and her ferocity. The balance between her and Coby 🥰
Coby and her sweetness, but NOT weakness.
And Ocean? MY GOODNESS. I’m drooling over him.
Their dynamic and what they will do for each other makes my heart sing.
BB can honestly do no wrong. I’m head over heeeeeels for this story!
This was very fast-paced almost to a fault. From the moment the story starts, everything is in motion, but I struggled to care about some of the conflicts because we weren’t given enough background or emotional buildup for them to really land. The author is clearly talented, but many of the dynamics felt rushed or underdeveloped. Coby and Hunter’s situation was intense, though Coby’s loyalty to Rushoun didn’t feel earned on the page, and I tend to get frustrated when it takes something extreme for characters to recognize harmful behavior. Hunter and Ocean’s romance was the stronger arc, but still not deep enough to fully invest in. Overall, the why-choose/poly relationship felt more forced than organic, and some plot choices annoyed me cus why is Hunter being further trained but Coby don’t know how to do a THINGGG? Still dumb still forcing a relationship with a sibling who clearly hates her? Yet it’s Hunter’s responsibility to be her defense force, felt kinda shitty to me. Like yes Hunter takes pride in that role but it just felt manipulative on Ocean’s part. There’s a decent foundation here I just wanted more breathing room for the characters and relationships to grow. It gave less Why Choose and more of a I’ll take what I can get from this kinda vibes. Did they grow to love each other … ALLEGEDLY
The Bride tricked into a dangerous engagement, the Groom a mafia underboss who will do anything to keep her, and the Bestfriend ready to burn it all to the ground to get her back. This Black mafia romance is sexy, funny, and action packed. Ocean, Hunter and Coby are a mess together, but even worse apart. We watch this throuple navigate jealousy, betrayal and a mafia boss determined to get his way. This is my second MFF romance. You don’t see that dynamic often in why choose, so it was fun to explore.
This was quite an adventure. It was definitely a book like I’ve never read before. I enjoyed the plot but there were certain elements to it that idk how I feel about quite yet
I thoroughly enjoyed hunter’s character and I love how sarcastic she was throughout this entire book. Most of my highlights are of her and her snarky remarks lol.
I decided to go in blindly with this one so part 2 had me really intrigued. I really loved that I had no idea where it was going to go especially with the best friend’s friendship.
I also enjoyed Ocean’s character more so the first half. He really is a “touch her and die” kind of guy. My fave
4⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5
Tropes: marriage of convenience mafia bi-awakening why choose (MFF) heated rivalry Touch her & die MMC twin flames
Lots of telling and missing something. Not my type of gendre MFF read. Won't be reading this Author anymore. Older books were okay but not the newer one.
Kidnapping Possessive MMC and FMC Forced marriage Touch her and die vibes Stalking
Coby’s brother had a debt to pay and while he was trying to sell his sister off. Ocean was silently stalking her .
Ocean was stalking Coby to the point, he purchased things she liked to make sure she was comfortable . As Colby called it “pretty prison” until she didn’t want to leave . But Ocean made time and showed up for both Coby and Hunter. Ocean was patient with Hunter; the dog and the movie time they had really got me !! I knew she would eventually let her walls down.
Ocean said “name your price and Ill gladly pay it”👏🏽👏🏽
Now Hunter !!! I loved her character; such a bad ass . She was definitely that “ride or die” friend that didn’t take nothing from nobody . While Coby and Hunter were codependent on each other, I do feel that it’s valid due to their childhood and being able to lean on each other when they were younger.
Ocean just done it for me 😮💨 I really enjoyed this one, its definitely going in my reread pile !!
Best friend but truly who are they trying to fool lol THIS WAS MESSY SPICY AND HOT.
Our main female character goes to the club her brother owns and ends up in the vip section with one of the most feared men in town the underboss of the black mafia, Ocean. She becomes entranced by him while he pays no attention to her lol he gives her a couple glances but that is all. She keeps going back to the club in hopes of seeing him again, stolen glances and tense moments is all they give each other until one night two years later that her brother calls her to the club. He is in trouble with the mafia and Ocean wants her in exchange for her brothers debt. There is forced proximity, forced marriage, throuple action.
Say So is a dark, addictive read filled with danger, tension, and intense chemistry. B.B. Reid delivers morally gray characters, high-stakes drama, and a romance that keeps you hooked from start to finish.
If you love dark romance with obsession, power plays, and plenty of spice, this one is definitely worth the read.
BB did it again! I had the chance to read the ARC and I was up all night reading this like I didn’t have nothing to do the next morning. The way each character was able to show growth and how far they would go for love was amazing. I’m already stamping this in my top 5 best reads for this year
Ya’ll know I am not usually a fan of mafia romances but Miss BB Reid did THAT 👏🏻
Coby and Hunter are two codependent baddies with a past steeped in trauma. When Coby’s brother steals from the fola, he offers his sister up to Ocean (the underboss) as payment and Coby’s best friend, Hunter, goes on an insane rampage to get her back. While Coby is under Ocean’s care, lots of lines blur and things only get more complicated when Hunter meets Ocean and is inevitably pulled into his orbit. Ocean only needs one wife to begin to bring his father down though, and good luck choosing between those two 😂
I loved the careful jealousy and twisted love in this book. Hunter is absolutely my favorite character, but it’s no surprise I love the ruthless badass woman that will burn the world down for those she loves.
You guys will love this book if you’re into:
💍 marriage of convenience 🩸 mafia romance 👩🏽❤️💋👩🏾 bi awakening 💞 why choose (MFF) ⚔️ heated rivalry 🖤 a villain with a generous heart
One thing B.B. Reid is gonna do is give you the most chaotic, unhinged cast of characters possible. These are the characters that will have you questioning your morals. You should hate them… but somehow you don’t. They’re toxic, intense, possessive, and messy….but also passionate, protective, and weirdly devoted.
I generally love this author’s writing style, but I’ve got very mixed feelings about this one. One minute the story dragged and I was fighting to stay focused, the next minute chaos was erupting just enough to keep me locked in.
I love a good kidnapping, forced proximity, enemies to lovers type of situation. The angst, yearning and buildup makes for great reading, but this one missed the mark. The premise and foundation were there, but unfortunately they weren’t fully executed. This book was all over the place. It felt a little disjointed….like scenes and storylines were pieced together. Also, there were too many inconsistencies, plot holes and errors. That said… I still couldn’t DNF. There were enough shocking, messy, jaw-dropping moments to keep me turning pages. Overall it was ok.
I liked it at first. But I dont believe there was an lgbtq warning which wasnt too cool of the author. Also it wasnt really mentioned that he would have BOTH girls in like a threesome way, it was hinted he would be hell for them but that doesnt really translate. Not her best work. also the girl got kidnapped and almost immediately agreed to marry him.... like come on. weak characters.
This book would of been great until it turned into a threesome. I must of missed the description of that for this book. The book hooked me in with the plot and players in the book until it took a turn to having two women. That’s just not my thing so if it’s yours you will like the book. I didn’t finish it so I can’t give a detailed description.
Whew, the passion, the lust, the fight! This mafia, why choose romance trope was a first for me and I enjoyed it! With Coby and Hunter relationship you could feel the tension from the very start. And let me just tell you Hunter will burn the world down for her GIRLL🔥 Ocean, I don’t even know where to start. Lol my boy went after what he wanted and got it every single time 😝 All 3 of them together?! WHEW, the love between them, the lengths they would go for one another was beautiful in the end 🫶🏾❤️
I don’t want to give too much away but if you love a little kidnapping(?) Lol a little family drama, and a lot of spice 😝 read this! HELL even if you don’t still read it because this one was a good one
infuriatingly good is all I can say. Definitely more FMF rather than MFF
initially had rated it higher as a 4* but the way they treated my girl Coby I had to drop it. she went from main character to a literal side dish to Ocean & Hunters love story.
chapter 25/26is so trifling I hate the way their relationship developed, cause no matter what, that was a betrayal to Coby. Falling for each other without her ever knowing and Ocean is what? Lying to Coby about his whereabouts Leaving her to meet his mum whilst making out with her best friend ? AND the fact that Coby told Hunter she was inlove with Ocean and she continued to do all this? Ew.
C28… ANNOYING I think this book forgot it was meant to be MFF - Hunter all the way through to 73% off the book never once thought about Coby in that way Nothing happened between them and blessing or not, they’re yet again being trifling keeping secrets from Coby

I am so happy that this Kindle-Vella was published into a full book and I finally got to read it all! As for any book, there are parts I thoroughly enjoyed, and parts that just weren’t for me.
When it comes to our characters, they each caught my attention and heart in different ways. For Coby, her unconditional love and support for those she cares for is admirable. No matter what, she will ride or die for her loved ones, especially Hunter. Which, when it comes to Hunter, I absolutely love her ruthlessness and her sheer, unbreakable determination to find Coby and keep her safe. People always underestimate her, and it’s the last thing they’ll ever do because Hunter is deadly. Yet, she can also be a sweetheart, but only to Ocean, Coby, and Coco. Then there’s Ocean. He feels like a mix of both woman honestly, which would explain his need for them both. He has that unconditional love like Coby and that ruthlessness of Hunter. Ocean is incredibly lethal and only holds soft spots for his women.
Then, when I think about the relationships of our MCs, I have mixed feelings. For the dynamic between Ocean and Coby, it felt rather fast to me. I know they had been circling each other for years, but never got to develop a true connection before she became his. For Coby and Hunter, they had many years together, as best friends, and as more. Together they went through many ups and downs, seeing the good and the bad in one another but still choosing to love each other deeply. Then, for Hunter and Ocean, the growth was more gradual than Coby and Ocean. While there was attraction from the very beginning, it took time and patience for Hunter to realize her feelings for Ocean. As a couple altogether, I believe it makes the most sense for who they are and what each of them needs. With the three of them, there is a great balance of love, patience, and understanding.
Now, for the storyline. I enjoyed the world building and eventual war that took place between Ocean and his father. It gave for a more interesting backstory and lead us to many key plot points within the world. I would like to add that there were some parts of the story that felt rather slow to me, then others that were perfectly paced and captivating. I also was not a huge fan of some of the time jumps that took place. There were times they made complete sense to drive the story along without missing too much, then there were others where I felt the gap was rather large and there could have been important details within those times. But, it all worked out in the end and the story came full circle. Everyone got their HEA!
Overall, I enjoyed this story and the characters. I love how everything came to a happy ending and we got to see the three of them as a family, even expanding it with kiddos.
🌶️🌶️.5 Pepper percentage: 8.5% of the pages contain spicy content 30.2% of the chapters contain spicy content
I normally really enjoy BB Reid‘s books but this one just left me kind of cold.
I read it quickly because I wanted to get it over with (and I was sick when I picked it up) and the writing was well done and everything but it‘s just not for me.
I struggle with Why Choose stories involving multiple women because I don‘t like the man to be the centre of attention, i guess. And I think there‘s a fine line between an actually romantic story and two women being specialised for the male pleasure. I‘m not saying that‘s the case but the story didn‘t really go against that part. I wish one of the women would be the centre of the triangle, like I assumed in the beginning. But then it was the MMC pursuing the second woman, Hunter, while being engaged to the first, Coby. I didn‘t like it because it really felt like cheating. Ocean, the MMC, says AFTER fucking Hunter that Coby wanted it to happen but we never see the conversation.
I don‘t like stories involving cheating of any kind, that’s one of my triggers, so there was a point where I just couldn’t continue. It hurt to read it.
ALSO, I like dark romances as much as the next gal, but Ocean is a walking red flag to me. Way too full of himself, greedy, doesn‘t really respect boundaries etc. I just never fantasised about him.
This last point is on me, not the author. The characters are all Black and since I‘m European and have little to know contact with AAVE, I struggled with the language of the book. There were multiple sentences where I had to read them multiple times to really understand the meaning because I had never heard it before.
Kind of fun, though, to have the bosses of an Irish mafia be Black, I thought that was very fun and unexpected.
Messy, dramatic, and completely consuming, Say So is a mafia romance that pulls you into its chaos and doesn’t let go. If you love emotional turmoil, unconventional love, and characters who love hard and dangerously, this one is absolutely worth the wild ride.
Say So follows a young woman who keeps crossing paths with Ocean, the terrifying underboss of the mafia, at the club her brother owns. Their early encounters are all tension and stolen glances. She is completely drawn to him, while he barely acknowledges her. For two years, that quiet pull simmers until everything explodes. Her brother lands in serious trouble with the mafia, and Ocean claims her as payment for his debt. What follows is a dark spiral of forced proximity, a marriage of convenience, and an unconventional relationship that turns into a full throuple.
This book takes the why choose trope and flips it on its head. Mafia romance rarely has sharing or non MF dynamics, so adding an FFM dynamic was interesting, and I was so curious how it would play out. The chemistry was intense, the emotions were messy, and I stayed invested the entire time. Ocean is the cold, dominant, morally gray alpha who commands the room. Coby brings warmth and heart, with softness that hides a wild edge. Hunter is sharp, fierce, and unapologetically dangerous, and she was easily my favorite. Her loyalty and readiness to burn the world down for the people she loves made her so lovable and firey.
The relationships are complicated and not always healthy, but that is part of the BB Reid appeal. Coby and Hunter’s bond is deep and emotionally charged, even toxic at times, and Ocean becomes the force that shifts their dynamic into something more honest and balanced. Watching the transition from fractured connections to a fully formed throuple was handled was super entertaining, even if they do make some head hitting mistakes. And we have plenty of heat and some secondary suspense too.
This definitely has some of the Hallmarks of BB Reid, even if it felt a bit different. Known for brash, bully romances, she steps into new territory here and proves she can still deliver something addictively toxic, but with a totally different flavor. This is not a soft or comforting romance. It is possessive, volatile, and intense in the best way. Expect betrayal, vengeance, bi awakening, forbidden chemistry, and bonds that refuse to break. The pacing did feel a bit uneven to me, but I was definitely entertained.
It feels like a crime to give this 2 stars. I love BB Reid so much. But it’s purely based on the fact that I didn’t love the trope. Which some people wouldn’t even agree with me. This definitely has what I consider cheating trope, others would disagree. If you like cheating trope, or don’t mind grey area cheating then you should definitely read this book. The spice was great, the characters were baddies in their own right. And Coby might be my favorite BB Reid FMC. Spoilers below this.
I loved the first part of Say So. We start with Coby being given to mafia prince Ocean because Coby’s brother owes Ocean money. Coby is a ball of sunshine and deserves the entire world. I love her so much. Her and Ocean fall in love quickly, after a 2 year flirtation before the kidnapping. In order for Ocean to take over as mafia king, he must marry. Coby agrees quickly and they start planning a wedding. Except one kink in the plan. Coby has a best friend. Hunter.
Hunter is a badass woman who is ready to take out the entire mafia to get Coby back. Ocean promises Coby he will get Hunter and bring her to Coby. If only he could get to her without her trying to kill him. In their one encounter she nearly kills him, but hesitates and lets him live. Directly after this he yells to the skies “I think I’m in love”, and talks about being excited.
Part two is all about Hunter. Ocean and Hunter are playing a car and mouse game. He leaves Coby for weeks looking for Hunter. When he finds her, he keeps her in a house on his property without telling Coby. Ocean and Hunter start a full blown relationship. That now makes 2 women than Ocean is, entertaining, and Coby doesn’t know. Hunter does.
Now, it is important to know that Coby has made it clear that she wants Hunter and Ocean both. She wants this throuple. She tells Ocean to do what he needs to do to get Hunter. My issue is that they don’t tell Coby before anything happens. In fact, Ocean and Hunter make it a point to sneak around. Ocean tells Hunter that she is a bad friend for lusting after her best friend’s fiancé. Ocean and Coby have lunch with his mother, Coby’s first time meeting her, and then he leaves Coby to go play with Hunter. Coby eventually figures it out and finds Hunter in the property. Hunter does not fess up to anything that has happened with Ocean, she does say that Ocean wants to do a sister wife situation.
Eventually Ocean moves Hunter into the main house, and that first night the 3 of them have dinner. Coby gets up to take a shower, and during this time Hunter and Ocean have sex. Hunter is worried the entire time that Coby will find them. Ocean says they better finish before Coby finishes her shower. Ocean also forbids Coby and Hunter doing anything together alone.
Coby of course knows what’s going on and isn’t upset at all. She is upset that Hunter is ignoring her feelings for Coby and won’t accept this throuple situation. Hunters hang up is that Coby and Ocean will be the ones legally married and she will always be seen as the mistress. Eventually they figure out a situation that works for them.
All of this feels like cheating to me. Hunter is a horrible best friend. How in the world does she love Coby enough to go up against the entire mafia, but not enough to kill Coby’s man who makes a move on her? Let this friendship never find me. And my least favorite part about multiple partner books is when you can tell who would be left out if they were forced to be in a convention two person relationship. Coby would be out. She would be regulated to nanny so fast. That is how I felt reading it.

If you’re tired of the same repetitive mafia tropes, Say So by B.B. Reid is the hard pivot you’ve been looking for. This isn't your standard "boss meets girl" story. It’s a high-stakes, volatile FFM throuple that flips the "why choose" dynamic on its head. And leaves you spinning.
What makes this stand out? Mafia romances rarely if ever play with sharing or non-MF dynamics. Here, the emotional power struggle is the point.
Ocean is cold, dominant, and morally gray in a way that feels intentional, not cartoonish. Coby brings warmth and a quiet kind of devotion. Hunter, though? She steals the show. Sharp, fiercely loyal, and ready to burn everything down for love. Her edge gives the story weight. I was not expecting her in the best ways!
The relationships aren’t healthy. They’re complicated. Sometimes toxic. But watching them move from fractured and reactive to something more honest was what kept me invested. The chemistry is intense. The emotions are volatile. There’s betrayal, vengeance, bi awakening, and enough heat to make the power dynamics believable.
B.B. Reid moves away from her usual bully romance roots into something more complex. It’s messy, dysfunctional at times, and definitely not "soft," but the transition from fractured connections to a fully functioning triad is addictive. The pacing hits a few speed bumps, but the bi-awakening and forbidden chemistry more than make up for it.
If you want possessive, gritty, and unconventional, this belongs on your TBR.
Say So is a unique story of mafia romance. I love the mafia genre. And I’ve read my fair share of them. I haven’t come across one where the mafia leader is a sharer of his love interest. Ocean Kirkpatrick is leader of the FOLA organization. People you don’t mess with or double cross. Coby Perry is the sister of a well known nightclub. One night while waiting for her brother, she and Ocean cross paths. Neither says a word to the other. But the energy that is between them is palpable. These silent encounters take place for two years. Until it’s time that Ocean made his move on Coby. Hunter Parrish is Coby’s best friend. She is extremely possessive of Coby. To the point of it being toxic between them at times. The night Ocean takes Coby as his. He doesn’t expect the hurricane known as Hunter. Each one of these three characters contributes to the story and the relationship(s). Watching their dynamics change and play out had me invested in them and how things would work. It’s messy, chaotic and challenging. It’s complicated and not easily navigated. While FF isn’t something I read. Say So is the first time I’m reading FF. My reading preferences played no part in my review or rating. I have been a big fan of Ms. Reid’s for years. So I really wanted to read this book. I appreciated the complexity of the story. I liked the uniqueness of it in the mafia world. I enjoyed the suspense and drama of the story and plot.
Here's what makes BB Reid a phenomenal author, she writes characters that leave you feeling every emotion you can think of, to the point that you'll be thinking of the way she made you feel for years to come. I mean that literally. That is what she has done once again with this book. I thought she had changed her pace when I started this one. I thought wow Ocean is the softest MMC I think she's ever written, he's so gentle and devoted to Coby. Only to be reminded this was not that kind of book and I'm an idiot for allowing my complacency in a BB Reid book. I allowed myself to get so caught up in how good Ocean was to Coby that I almost forgot we're working towards a FFM situation. So when Oceans attraction to Hunter hit I felt betrayed, when I shouldn't have cause I knew this was going to happen. That said, if you want to read a MMC that will drive you to the brink of insanity with his hypocrisy, Ocean is your guy. I swear BB Reid needs a catch phrase for all the BS she creates within her men. I mean this with nothing but love of course. The progression of the story, and the relationships between the three of them, was done perfectly. Lastly, I was so happy about Kellan and a new little insight into him. I've been needing more of him for a long time! Read this book but be prepared for the urge to maybe throw things. It's a good time!
Love can feel like a “foolish, terrible dream.” But if that dream is Ocean Kilpatrick, love is definitely worth it. Say So was a read I expected to like, but ended up loving. Coby, Ocean, and Hunter were characters that knew the struggle of love and loss, but forged fiercely ahead in a daring and unexpected Black romance.
Coby and Hunter are besties that could be something more. Fighting those feelings, leads to a club for Coby and there she finds Ocean. They took their time and only when Roshaun (Coby’s brother) messed with the wrong crowd did Ocean and Coby seemly get their chance at love. Their love strong, but riddled with red flags and much blood shed was still missing something (or someone).
That missing piece was Vengeance. AKA Hunter. Without her, Coby was missing her soulmate even through she had found her heart. Hunter so willing to sacrifice herself and her happiness never seems to let herself fall into her feelings. Embracing them feels like too much, but never enough for either of her loves. But love chose them, all of them, and now they needed chose it for themselves.
I really enjoyed the read. It gives a taste of a mafia romance, celebrate Black love and supports love in various forms. This book is humorous, spicy, and a long fun time from one of my favorite authors. Definite must read!
BB Reid writes the most fun, unhinged characters. In Say So, I absolutely enjoyed the chaos of all three characters, Coby, Hunter and Ocean. I didn't quite know how it was going to work but it just did, they made so much sense together. I loved how BB brings us into their different POVs and we get to see the actions and feelings behind the decisions they made.
Hunter and Coby are best friends and roommates. Unfortunately, Coby is sold to the Fola mafia heir, Ocean, to settle Coby's brother's debt. What Ocean does not anticipate is that Hunter is not going to let her bestie go without a fight. And so begins a dance of not just a battle of wills but feelings may or may not get in the way.
One of my favorite aspects of this story was the humor throughout. I was cackling. And then there was Ocean, what a man and look I get it, he may be violent but he was so protective and adoring and the spice, he brings it. Coby, ugh, what an angel, she was so sweet and hopeful but sassy. I was prepared to not like Hunter but BB did an amazing job showing us the many layers that covered up the woman that just wanted to be loved and to love.
Overall, this was such a fun ride and there was a scene with an RPG involved that will forever stay with me because it was hilarious.
I first want to thank B.B. Reid for the opportunity to review "Say So".
What happens when you have a forced mafia marriage, an unhinged BFF, and a love triangle so messy that even Zeus Network is jealous of it? You get "Say So".
This Black mafia romance is spicy, filled with action, and has amazing banter between all the characters.
Watching these characters navigate through trauma, family dysfunction, jealousy, and love was truly entertaining. They were flawed characters who loved hard, and weren't afraid to burn the city down behind their lover/friend.
What also stood out was that each character had a distinct personality and it all blended well within the throuple. Ocean was strong-willed and did not take "no" for an answer. Coby was super sweet, but she also packed a punch when needed. Hunter is the embodiment of a down ass friend. Who goes to war with the mafia and actually shake ish up? They worked well together because they knew when to give and when to take. When to be strong and when to submit.
B.B. Reid is one of my favorite authors, and this book proved why she is always at the top of my lists. This book made me laugh, tear up, and get frustrated at times. Overall, this was a wild ride that I totally loved!
I think I’ve come to the conclusion that I love everything that B.B. writes. This story got me out of my slump and I ATE IT UP! This story had me in a chokehold, and I honestly could have kept reading it if there had been more! The angst, the passion, the action, and the spice were everything!
Coby has been intrigued by Ocean Kilpatrick ever since she saw him at her brother’s bar. Ocean has also had his eye on her. It isn’t until she’s sold to him for her brother’s debt that they finally have something to say to one another. Ocean thinks Coby will be his no matter what, but he doesn’t realize how hard her friend, Hunter, will fight to get her back. Except that Coby and Hunter don’t realize, Ocean is always ahead of them.
Let me be so real right now, I am in love with Ocean, Coby, and Hunter. All three of these characters had me obsessed with them. Ocean and his dominance and possessiveness. Coby and her sweet and spicy sides. Hunter and her strength and her need to protect. Each one of the characters was so different but they all truly just wanted love. I love them so much!
B.B. Reid did it again with Say So! This story takes you on a journey and I loved every minute of it. Go check it out!
I have been having a great reading year so far and happy to add another to the list.
Now, I normally I stay away from throuple stories especially when there's two women involved because you can always feel there is a favourite and that's not fun to read. That being said, I am a sucker for why choose- I don’t mind a little competition in that case (sue me i like mess the way i like it). However, reading this, i was pleasantly surprised by how balanced the relationships were and it left me satisfied.
I had my own favs in the story being Hunter, but I do like a pampered romantic at heart princess. I won't lie when I say I side-eyed Coby when we got Hunter's perspective and saw first hand how hard she was working to get her back, while Coby was falling drunk in love, but my side-eye was mitigated when the besties reunited and we again saw the hand Coby had to make the romantic relationship with all three of them work.
I could go on and on about this, and it's actually making me feel like a reread is due again, but I will just say that if you liked any of B.B. Reid's work, this won't be any different. We love an unhinged, morally gray swoon (mafia) romance. She did her thing!
Thank you B.B. Reid for the ARC.
